Book transfered to Kobo not showing up in library

I use Kobo reader and recently purchased a EPUB book from another source and installed ADE following installation instructions. When I open up ADE on my computer, it recognizes my Kobo reader as a bookshelf. I used drag and drop to add the book to Kobo, but it doesn't appear on my reader. I've downloaded EPUB from other (non-protected) sources before and it worked fine. If I open my Kobo application on the computer, I do see the book there.
Anyone have a clue how to fix this? I've lost patience with help files on all applications.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
In order to fix this you may follow the steps as given below.
Solution ) Delete following folder from your computer.
C:\Documents and Settings\sali\My Documents\My Digital Editions\Restore
HD:\Users\UserName\Digital Editions\Restore (If your are using MAC)
Now download the same book once again and while downloading the book it will give you three options "Open" , "Save" , "Cancel"
Click on save and it should save on following location.: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\Downloads
Now go to the location where you have downloaded book
Right click on the book and select Open with.
Now select Adobe Digital Editions
Now the book should open in Digital Editions.
I hope this will help you!!!

If iTunes still carries the books, they ARE available to download from the cloud, either to the computer or your iPod Touch directly.
Open iBooks on the device and tap on 'purchased'.
    download.
iTunes does not garentee to carry a book forever, a serious flaw.  If you can't find the book in iTunes anymore and didn't keep it on the computer, or backed up, it may be gone.
    To add audio books to the iPod;
you have to check the box at the bottom section of the Books screen that says, "sync audio books"

It won't show up on your Apple TV until it is fully downloaded into iTunes on your computer, have you done this.

I made a book in iPhoto in november and ordered 2.  I would like to order a third but it is not showing in my library anymore.  I fear it got inadvertently deleted.  Does apple keep a hard copy of books purchased?

Apple keeps files for 40 days for reorders according to a previous web site - give them a try

  • .m4v movies on external drive not showing in my library?

Some movies held on external drive are not showing in my library. I can open them with iTunes through Finder but they still don't appear in my library. Any ideas why. All my iTunes downloaded movies are there but the .m4v that I have loaded are missing.

Again I do not have iTunes 12 but I recall seeing a picture where movies have their own library section.
I did not fully understand your last post (cosignee?) but if iTunes is playing a file then it is in the library somewhere.
I know with my version of Quicktime Player it shows tag data in a separate information window I can choose to display.  You can also use a tag editor such as MetaZ or Subler  to edit movie tags.

  • Music not showing up in library after drag and drop (7.0)

Music will not show up in library after draging and dropping .mp3's into itunes. Also won't show up if I try the File > Add Folder to Library. The processing files box shows up like its going to work, but it just doesn't. I have tried many differnet mp3's, some actually DID import.
Also, double clicking on an mp3 will bring up itunes, but it will not load or play the song.
I currently have 55.5GB of music, and 10,158 songs. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

  • HT201322 can i hide books so they do not show up on my ipad ibooks library?

I would like to know if there is anyway to hide books in my library.  I tried the hiding and unhiding purchases and that was not what I needed.  My kids use my ipad to read books in my library that are books I bought for them to read.  I do not want them to be able to read books I have purchased for me as some of them have more adult content.  Is it possible to change settings so some of my books do not show up?

ibooks don't currently have an age rating in the same way as films and apps do so there isn't a way to hide them on your shelf. You can try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Try to open book in ADE, its not showing up

    Hey all
My mom and I use ADE for borrowing library books for our Nook. We have each been using it for a few months, and my mom has been having issues this week. She saved the file from the library and dragged and dropped it into ADE and it wont show up. She tried a few times and one time it said something about her not being authorized to read the file or something along those lines. This is the first time anything like this has happened and I can't find anything online to help this specific problem. My brother uninstalled ADE and reinstalled it and that didn't help. Any suggestions?

I have to read between the lines to ferret out your problem.  So, I'm making
a couple of assumptions.  First, that you two have been able to do downloads
before, but that one of the ebooks is causing you a problem - the one
downloaded from the library.  Next, I'm not sure that I understand where
your mom put the library ebook when she downloaded it: the words make me
believe that she put it on her computer, not in the ADE library, where it
would go normally.  Finally, there's the comment about not being authorized
to read the file. Finally, I'm assuming that you're using a Windows PC.
    Here goes....
If your mom saved the library ebook to her computer but not using ADE, then
ADE doesn't recognize it's there.  The process for getting this fixed is
relatively simple (?).  First, find out where the library ebook was stored
and hold onto that information.  Next, open ADE to the Library display
screen.  Place the cursor on the word 'Library' and a small arrow will
appear.  Place the cursor on that arrow and a drop-down menu will appear.
Choose 'Add Item To Library' and click on it.  You'll see a screen that asks
you to choose the ebook to add, and you need to find the location where the
library ebook is, then click on it so it appears in the window at the bottom
of that screen, and then click on OK.  ADE will update its files to show the
    library ebook.
About that message....  Publishers have the right to assign digital rights
to their epublications, such as whether copying to another device is
allowed.  If they've set the digital rights to permit a download to a PC,
but NOT to an ereader, you will get a 'No Permission To Copy Here' message.
In this case, I'm thinking that you're getting that message because the
library ebook isn't in ADE's files.  If the library ebook IS in the ADE
library, then there's something wrong with the file that was downloaded from
the library, and you'll have to talk to the library's technical department
to get it straightened out.  This happens occasionally, especially after a
    library updates its software.
    Hope this stuff helps!

    Hello meamel,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iTunes: About Books
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4629
If you're using Windows or an OS X earlier than Mavericks, you can click Get Sample in iTunes to download the sample to iBooks on your compatible iOS device where you're signed in to the iTunes Store.

  • Books in iTunes do not show up in iBooks

I recently had to restore my iPad because I was having problems with my wifi. When I restored it, about 70% of my books/pdf's did not transfer over onto my iPad. I checked "sync all books" and nothing.
Oh, and my wifi is still acting up and keeps losing its signal/very slow. I don't think its my network because my laptop and iPod still work fine.
Does anyone know of any solutions? Thanks

You can either connect your device to your Mac, select it on the left-hand side of iTunes under Devices, and use the Books tabon the right-hand side to select those ibooks and sync them to the device. Or you can re-download them directly on it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • Audio books that are purchased not showing up as Purchased

  • Imported audiobook and iPhone videos not showing in main library.

Today I imported an Audible book I had downloaded by dragging the files onto the "Library" section of iTunes. The progress bar showed that the files were being imported and the book shows up in a smart playlist in the "Playlist" section but not in the "Books" category of the library. I have checked and the files are exactly where they are supposed to be on my hard drive with this author's other books. A similar thing happened when I imported videos from my iPhone. I had downloaded them from my phone onto my desktop and then dragged them onto the library where the progress bar showed they were imported. They are not in the "Movies" library but when I went to sync them onto my iPad2 they show under the "Movies" tab of the iPad and were successfully synchronized onto my iPad2. I tried quiting iTunes and restarting it but this did not cause them to show up. I then restart the whole computer but still no go.
Any suggestions? I am running iTunes 10.6 (40) on an Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running OSX 10.7.3.
    Thanks,
    Clayton

Properly tag them in itunes before transferring them over.

  • Purchsed music not showing up in Library or created playlist

I purchased music last night and successfully transfered the music to my iPod. Now I would like to listen to the music from my computer. However the files are not showing in my iTunes playlist or library. I can find all of the titles, in my Music folder (running Windows XP) but the titles are just shown as individual folders, without the music file for play. Problem - why isn't my purchased music shown in my iTunes library available for play today?

Close iTunes, delete the hidden file called sentinel from the iTunes folder where your library files are stored and then restart. This should force iTunes to run an integrity check on the database which ought to resolve the problem.

  • Content purchased from iTunes store are downloaded but do not show up in library (iTunes 11) even after manual add

    Hi all,
I upgraded to iTunes 11 recently and have now purchased some additional content from the iTunes store. The files have been downloaded but do not show up in my library. A search yields some results but I cannot access the songs in my library nor can I add them to 'up next' although the option is available from the search results menu.
First thing I tried was to add them again manually but the problem persists. Any clues?
    Thanks and Best
    Frank

OK, I found a solution. Here it goes, just in case anybody else comes across this issue:
I deleted all the relevant entries from the iTunes Libary.xml AND iTunes Music Library.xml files (with iTunes closed, of course) and removed the files on the harddrive library structure to another location. I then restarted iTunes and added the album manually to my library again. In my case, I got iTunes to handle my library and the files were thus copied back to my old structure by the iTunes. To finish I reimported the album artwork and that was that.
Hope that I won't encounter this issue with future purchases under iTunes11, this workaround IS a bit of a hassle!
