Book Type

I have completed a book, but have decided to change the cover type before ordering. Is that possible without having to totally redo the book?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
NOTE: this is not the same as routinely backing up your entire iPhoto library folder to protect your photos. It only protects the loss of your organizational efforts that the database file contains.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

List CD as a BOOK type rather than MUSIC

I imported a CD into my iTunes library (Mac Mountain Lion OS). The CD is excerpts and meditation exercises from a book I am reading. Just wondering if there is a way to have the CD show up as a BOOK type rather than MUSIC?

Select tracks the from file menu select File / Get info / Options and change media type to Audiobook.

Adding Booking Type Field When Building Teams via Resource Plans

Question for the Project Server 2010 experts out there...
When building a team for a Resource Plan via PWA, the Booking Type field does not display on the right side of the page (PWA/RM/BuildResPlanTeam.aspx) which makes it difficult to change the resource from Committed (our default) to Proposed.
Is there any way to add the field?
I do realize that after building your team you can drill into each resource and change the Booking Type using the "Edit Cutom Fields" function, however, the Booking Type field displays when building your team for Project so it seems odd
that the field does not diplay when building a team for Resource Plans.

1) When you are changing the Booking Type using the "Edit Custom Fields:, you are actually changing the Resource's Default Booking Type across PWA, and not just for that Resource Plan.
2) I agree that it would be intutive to have the "Build Team"
within the Projects vs. Resource Plans be the same, and I am not sure why there is a discrepancy, but here is a solution. You can display the booking type field within the "Resource Plan" view, so that users do not have to drill down into
each resource. Please see the image below (from 2013, but applies to 2010).

DVD+R book type for compatibility

Hi,
I'm going to be burning about 80 DVDs of a theater production, and I'm at the point where I'm testing the first burn. I asked for volunteers amongst the purchasers (we're a church community) for anyone that had an old DVD player. One person had an older model built into a tube TV, and of course it does not recognize the DVD. I've been reading a lot about compatibility, and I was wondering if the feature in DVD Studio Pro that allows you to add DVD-ROM data to the DVD will set the DVD's book type to DVD-ROM. I have heard this could increase compatibility with older DVD players.
I am burning Verbatim DVD+R DL, and I have a recent I7 MacBook Pro with a HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS23N.

6 megabits per second (mbps) to 5.5 is lower, but not by much. I wouldn't sweat the bitrate if that is your bitrate (although, if you are using PCM audio then you are using quite a bit higher than that; use AC3 audio).
I make disc images with DVDSP; then I can burn with more options with Toast.
Seriously, there is no way to proof completely against old DVD players. But using a laser lens cleaner in them can help.

Default Booking Type

Hello
When creating new resources, is it possible to have MS Project default the Booking Type to PROPOSED?
When setting up a new resource in PWA (2013), the "Default Booking Type" at the moment defaults to "Committed"? Can that be changed? If so, where?
And, How about for local in MS Project Professional (2013)? Is there a setting somewhere in File > Options to have new resources default to the PROPOSED Booking Type?

Hi Spiro,
The booking type is set by default to committed and there is no way (no settings) to configure it differently. I advice to create resources in MS Project Pro directly so you simply cqn insert the booking type column and bulk update the value.

Problem to see a new book type in project

Dear friends;
I have a problem to see a new book in the module project.
The steps for create the book are the next:
1. - I create the book in the Fixed Asset module in the Book Controls option.
2. - Associate this book to a category in the Fixed Asset module option in the Asset Categories
3. - In the Project module to want to assign it to a project I was not shown in book value list
I missing some step?

Bring back "YearBook" in Book Type Selection 18Dec07

I hate the new iPHOTO 08 (too restricted)
the new iPhoto limits photo per page
I always used YearBook selection and was very very APPLE HAPPY happy
YearBook let me do what ever I wanted
01 Title each individual photo (anyone know how to do it 08?)
02 provide additional text if I needed it
03 let me put 6 photos per page in a neat and orderly look
04 looked very professional after project was completed
05 why did apple take that away from me????

Which product to use to build a "flip book" type of effect?

I have 67 digital photos of the same view with slight differences between them. I wish to build one file that I can export to create what looks like one of those old-fashioned "flip books" or old moving picture (jittery motion).
I used to be able to do this in Adobe ImageReady by importing the photos as frames and tweening them.
I'm new to CS5 and have been looking all over the place for the right application to use with no luck.
Which one do I use???
Please be specific as I've looked into Fireworks and Flash but neither or those seems to allow me to import a folder of files and put them on layers.

I think what you want is an animated.gif. And you can do that in Photoshop.

Can I convert an iPhoto hardback book to a paperback book for a new order?

I've just ordered a hardback book through iPhoto. I'd like to now order a paperback version of the same book but can't work out how to do this. I can duplicate my book, but I can't find a way of changing it to paperback.
Is this possible?

Try this:
Select the Duplicate in the Source Pane
On the Tool Bar click on Themes
When the Themes Sheet descends look for the Book Type drop down at the top. Select the book you want from there...

Payable Open Interface Import---Asset Book name is being generated

Hi,
I am working on Payables Open Interface Import in R12.
I am not generating the 'Track as Asset Flag' and 'Asset Book Type Code' fields in Ap_invoice_lines_nterface table.
And the distribution account is also an Expense account.
But after the payables open interface import is completed, the asset book name is being populated in ap_invoice_lines_all table.
and as a result, recoverable and non recoverable tax lines are being created in the ap_invoice_distributions_all table making the invoice total and line total unequal.
Did any body faced a similar issue?
Please help....

5. Retest the issue.
6. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

Unable to create a book in iPhoto '08 version 7.1.4

When I select any album and click on the +Book Icon+ at the bottom of the screen the Book Type window comes up but all of the options are grayed out and I am unable to select anything.
If I just click the Choose button, a blank layout comes up but it will not let me add photos and just stalls the program and I have to force quit.
I have created a book in the past but it was prior to upgrading to iPhoto '08
Any help us appreciated.

1 - delete the current application (just got to applications and delete it? What happens to the photo library??)
Nothing - reinstalling will not effect it
BUT as always when doing installations and upgraded - and at all other times too - you mush have a good, tested, current backup of your system including the iPhoto library - stuff does happen
5 - boot into the system disk that came with your computer and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto (is this the OS install disc? I have a disc 1 and disc 2) or can I do this from my iLife '08 software?
If you have purchased iLife '08 then you will use the iLife disk to install iPhoto - if you are installing the one that came with your computer you will use the restore disks that came with your system - do a custom install and install bundled software only - or click here for the MacWorld article on this subject.

Example: A Top-level folder with Book name inside it contains three folders –

My thoughts on above question are:
Crate a folder for each book in site pages libraries programmatically.
I will implement wikipage/Publishing page from each html programmatically.
Upload assets like images, css into site assets library programmatically
Any other thoughts to implement same in Sharepoint 2010 with programmatically .
Please consider also capacity or memory requirement s of Sharepoint site collection for all books and provide your thoughts on new design

What you are suggesting should not cause much load on any SharePoint server. Pages, even 300 of them, are just HTML that are formatted with CSS and images in your design. As such, the capacity to store, index and deliver such content for thousands
of books is well within SharePoint's ability. Where capacity will become a factor is consumption load i.e. how many users you have loading pages at the same time. Even at that though, given the content is books, it can be assumed users would load
a page and then read it's contents, even if just skimming it. Thus the load placed on SharePoint would be much less than say a user browsing around a site looking for some files etc. Capacity planning for consumption load would be the main effort
I would recommend in your endeavor.

You can create a Quicktime movie slideshow of the book's pages and share that. Here's how to get your book into an iPhoto slideshow and then export as a Quicktime video:
1 - While viewing the book type Command+P to start the print process.
2 - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
Note: If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
3 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
4 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto. Immediately select all of the photos in the new album and sequentially renumber them as "Page " using the Batch Change ➙ Title to Text with the option to add a sequential number to each title. This is to let you put the pages back in the correct order in the event they get sorted incorrectly.
Now you can proceed as follows: create the slideshow in iPhoto and export it out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large (480p with iPhoto 9),

but in the deploy.wsdd the deserializer is declared,so what i have missed?and how to solve this problem please?

Some systems are fussy about the method names and some require indexed accessors for array items. I would suggest starting with an implementation like
