Bookmark all tabs missing in Firefox 4.01?

I have used the 'bookmark all tabs' function in Firefox for several years. I just recently upgraded to FF 4.01 (I really like it BTW) but the bookmark all tabs menu item is missing. Please advise if there is another way to accomplish this function.
Thanks, RW

Some menu entries are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F or Alt+B to open the "File" and "Bookmarks" menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.
* "Bookmark All Tabs" (Shift+Ctrl+D) no longer shows in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
* "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

  • How do I save the same bookmark in the same folder more than once using the bookmark all tabs feature in FireFox 21?

I was able to do this previously. Recently however, firefox has only been allowing me to save one of the same webpage per bookmark folder. odd request I am aware, however, it is necessary to my usage of the program to make long lists of associated items.

    That is not possible.<br />
When you sue Bookmark all tabs then duplicate tab won't get stored separately, but only one occurrence of a specific URL, so you would need to distinguish them e.g. by adding an anchor (#&lt;random_nr&gt;).
You would need to save a list of currently open tabs to achieve this.
Extracting the links from a sessionstore.js file might be the easiest way to achieve this.

  • Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks Pull down menu. How can I "Bookmark All Tabs" using Firefox 4.0.1

I recently updated to Firefox 4.0.1 from Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks pull down menu. There isn't a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Firefox 4.0.1 Bookmarks pull down menu. Has this feature been eliminated from Firefox 4.0.1? If I want to save 24 tabs in one window of Firefox and 14 tabs in another window of Firefox, do I have to save all the tabs individually? How can I set the options, preferences, etc. so that I can "Bookmark All Tabs" at once in a window of Firefox 4.0.1. I am running Firefox 4.0.1 on a desktop computer with Windows7 Professional OS with Firefox as my default browser.

Right click a tab and you will get the option to bookmark all tabs. Or use keyboard '''Alt + B''' which opens the old style menu. You can make changes to Firefox, as explained in this post: [/questions/799856#answer-155765]

  • I am using FireFox 4. Where is the "Bookmark All Tabs-" feature. I would like to save my Tabs for a later session. The selection is not on the menu when I right-mouse click or go to the Bookmarks feature of the Menu.

Missing "Bookmark All Tabs…" feature which was in previous versions of FireFox 3.x. If you right-mouse click on a neutral part of the Browser window, there would be choice of "Bookmark this page" or "Bookmark All Tabs…". I have been unable to find it either in the sub-menu or the BOOKMARK selection from the Menu Bar.

What do you mean by Tabs sub-menu is it right-clicking on a tab ?
I know that "ctrl-shift-D" still work.
I know that a right-click on a tab gives the "Bookmark all Tabs" function.
But I would like to see it back in the Bookmarks menu. (which is its logical place)
Because today the choice only disappeared from the menu as it is still reachable through keyboard shortcut or through mouse right-click on a tab
but tomorrow it will totally disappear and personally I don't want that as this is one of my favorite functionality.
Tank you for your understanding !

  • I'm using the great Firefox 5.o. What happened to the "Bookmark All Tabs" feature that used to be found under Bookmarks? I love Mozilla Firefox!!!! :-)

I've looked under the Bookmarks heading as well as History. What happened to the extremely useful "Bookmark All Tabs". Loved that feature of Firefox. Thank you!!!!!!

Right-click '''on''' a Tab to see that menu item or use {Ctrl + Shft + D}.
In conjunction with the new Firefox button in Firefox 4.0 and with the addition of some new features that added a number of new menu items, many of the older menu items were moved around or only appear under certain conditions. It can be a bit confusing until you get used to the changes, but beyond adding new menu items in the future for new features, I don't think there will be major changes like that for awhile.

  • In Firefox 4, where is the "Bookmark ALL Tabs" function? I really need this function and have downgraded back to F3, having not found it in 4.

Not sure what extra details to provide past what I have already asked. Thanks for the help, though.

  • Will the next version restore the very useful "Bookmark all tabs" option? This was the closest Firefox feature to Opera's "save session" option; I can't believe it was taken away.

Sometimes FF has crashed and lost its "memory" of the tabs I had opened. I want to have a backup in case that happens, so I know what tabs I had up and can restore them.

  • BOOKMARK ALL TABS FUNCTION STOPPED WORKING IN FIREFOX 21

After installing FF21 (win7 pro) when I tried to "bookmark all tabs" from an open tab context menu, instead of the place for the name of the save being blank, it had the name of an old bookmark that seemed to be random. I restarted FF and restarted in Safe Mode, but that did not fix anything. Then I reset FF and that did not fix anything. In fact now when I click Ctrl+Shift+D or use the tab context menu I get a dialog like I am saving a new bookmark, not bookmarking all tabs. There is a place for the
    Name
    Location
    Folder
    Tags
    Keyword
The only add-ons I activated after doing the reset are Numext 0.7.3, Theme and Font Changer 7.1, and Roboform 7.8.9.5, all of which I have been using for years with no prior problems.
Note: After doing the reset, I tried Bookmark all tabs before I enabled any add-ons, and experienced the same problem.
I have a screenshot of what I get when I try to use bookmark all tabs.

When I tried Ctrl+Shift+D, I was getting the Bookmark all tabs dialog box - the same one I have always gotten when I used the context menu, and the same one I have been getting for ages to bookmark all tabs. . See the screenshot
I tried deleting the places.sqlite files in both profiles, and that did not solve the problem, so I just completely uninstalled FF and reinstalled it. If I had the time I might have tried a bunch of other solutions, but reinstalling was much faster, as my bookmarks were recently backed up.

  • What happened to the Bookmark all Tabs/Save and Exit/Open previous session feature in 4.0? If this has been taken out then 4.0 is of no use to me. I'll have to go back to 3.6

In 3.6 when ever I closed the browser with multi tabs open it would give me the option to Save and Exit. Then when I reopened the browser it would give me the option to open the previous session. I could also bookmark all open tabs. All of these features appear to no longer be present in 4.0. If this is the case I will be forced to uninstall and reinstall 3.6.

Bookmark All Tabs - you can get it when you right-click on a tab, or use keyboard shortcut Control+Shift+D.
Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.warnOnClose''', if its value is set to '''false''', double-click on it to change its value to '''true'''
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences '''browser.warnOnQuit''', '''browser.warnOnRestart''' and '''browser.showQuitWarning'''
If you always open the last set of tabs, an alternative approach is this:
    # Click the orange Firefox button, then select options to open the options window
    # Go to the General panel
    # Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • How do I bookmark ALL tabs at one time?

Firefox 3 allow all tabs to be bookmarked at one time. Please let me know how to do this with version 4.

You can access bookmark all tabs by right-clicking on a tab, or use the keyboard shortcut Control+Shift+D

  • When I "bookmark all tabs" into a bookmark folder, the webpage URLs are used rather than the wepage TITLES and for me this causes a problem.

    Using Firefox 34.0 on Ubuntu.
To expand on my particular problem, I use this feature exclusively for going over many days of TV/radio demand services, opening all of them in different tabs, and then at the end 'bookmark all tabs', and store them in a bookmarks folder.
The bookmarks are all displayed as URLs rather than webpage titles. Most of the TV/radio sites I look at have meaningless URLs (the titles are meaningful) so when I look in the folder I cannot quickly browse by bookmarks, I have to open every one individually to see what it is.
THis is different behaviour when I individually bookmark single pages and store it on the bookmark toolbar or other folder. Then the webpage title is displayed, which is the desired behaviour.

Hi and thanks for your reply. However, I get URLs instead of names even if I've visted the tabs and they've loaded.
So no solution for me yet. But your reply has opened up the murky world of Mozilla preferences, and by searching (on google) for bookmark preferences I've found someone on Mozillazine forums with a similar issue to mine (I didn't notice this alternative source of help when I was registering for the standard mozilla support)
Unfortunately, this mozillazine thread doesn't end in a solution. I've done some brief and unadvised fiddling of preferences without success. I am just adding this info here in case anyone else has this issue and wants to experiment themselves. Perhaps I will repost my problem in Mozillazine explicitly.
    thanks again

  • Bookmarks saved to a uniquely named bookmarks "folder" using "Bookmark All Tabs" not exporting.

I used the Bookmark All Tabs feature to save a group of bookmarks into bookmark "folders". I did that by right-clicking on one of the tabs, choosing "Bookmark All Tabs". For "Folder Name" I entered "Watches". The default entry in the "Folder" field was "Bookmarks Menu", which I did not change. When I look at my list of bookmarks there is a separate "folder" named "Watches" that contains all the bookmarks I saved. So far so good. The problem came when I used "Export Bookmarks to HTML..." When I opened the "bookmarks" folder I noticed that the name "Watches" appeared on the page, but none of the actual "Watches" bookmarks were there. I thought that maybe they were contained somewhere within the bookmarks file, but I just could not see them. However, after I imported the bookmarks into IE none of the "Watches" bookmarks were there.
Why are the "Watches" bookmarks not included within the exported "bookmarks" file? I've searched Google but haven't seen where anyone else has mentioned this problem.
Incidentally, I have other bookmarks I've saved the same way (i.e., "Bookmark All Tabs"), and none of them are being exported either. Also, doing the export with all add-ons disabled made no difference.
    Thanks.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • How do I get the right-click-on-tab - "Bookmark all tabs" to put the bookmarks in a folder of my choosing without creating a subdirectory named "[Folder Name]

Every time I create a new folder, say on the bookmarks toolbar, like "REOPEN 6-13-14" and use the "Bookmark all Tabs" function to create bookmarks to reopen later, it creates a sub directory in the new folder called [Folder Name]. If I have 4 windows open with multiple tabs and do this, it creates 4 separate [Folder Name] folders in the "REOPEN...." folder. Really want to just add all bookmarks into one big folder to reopen later.

If you use "Bookmarks All Tabs" then Firefox will always create a new folder with the name that you specify in the location that you specify.
If you do not change the default name then it keeps [Folder Name] for its name.
This also happens if there is already a folder with the same name and you thus get multiple folders with the same name.
