Bookmark audio book from MediaSource

Hi all,?I play long (5-7 hour) audio book files via my Zen V plus (ver. ..0). I use bookmarks successfully, but once in a while I forget to set one or the player locks up and I lose my place. Fastforwarding on the Zen is a pain. But doing it in MediaSource 5 (ver. 5.0.25) is relati'vely easy. Does anyone know of a way to bookmark from within MediaSource? I tried pausing and then disconnecting the Zen from my PC, but when I do that the file reverts back to the beginning. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,?Matt

iTunes audiobooks are tied up with DRM. They can only be played in iTunes or on Apple devices.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. If your iTunes is set on manual sync, then you have to manually drag and drop. Otherwise every time yousyncyou'll get all changes even if you don't want it.

If you purchased it on your ipad, then you would have to transfer it to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You can then listen to it on your computer.

I finally figured it out! On the book page of itunes I went to preferences and then import settings and changed the settings from aac to mp3 and when I went back to the page there was my itouch and clicked on it and then books and there were all my books and files! deleted 3 chapters that were greyed out and transfered them again and it worked. They will only be where you put them.

I downloaded the book onto my computer
It's an odm file if that helps
And the website said it was compadable with iPods
But when I hook my iPod up to the computer and view its "files and folders" then drop the file in nothing happens. It's the same if I try to drop it any where else.

I record audio books from my library onto my old iPhone. I download the book from Overdrive to my computer. I connect the Iphone to the computer and transfer the audio-book to the iPhone. When I am done listening to the book i delete it from the iPhone by connecting it to the computer and doing a manual sync. this worked fine until the last i-tunes update on my computer. Now when the iPhone is connected and i tell the computer to delete a book it is only deleting the name of the book on the computer it is not deleting the book from the phone. The next time I connect the phone to the computer the program does not show the book in the phone but it is still in the phone. I have no more room on my phone to get any new books on it.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Please

You are correct. Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases. You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.

I just asked how to transfer audio books from my MacBook to iPhone5s and had a reply that it should work like it did with my iPod touch. Well it doesn't. I tried moving audio books into my iTine Library (which I never did with iPod). I started to synch individual books but stopped as it is confusing to me what gets saved and what gets erased. I've tried dragging several ways. Help!

The music sync is one way only - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Then restore from you Mac laptop's backup, if you have not been backing up then you may be in for a very painful lesson on why backing up is the VERY FIRST thing you should do with any new Mac. Create a backup plan and use it on a regular basis. If the laptop was using 10.5.x or later then you have absolutely no excuse for not backing up. Sorry for being terse and blunt but Time Machine has been built into 10.5.x, 10.6.x and 10.7.x so we have had years to have a seamless and mindless method of backing up. If you have been using an earlier verision of OS X there are quite a number of methods of backing up.
If you aren't successful then take the laptop and iMac to your local Apple Store or AASP and they may be able to help you recover your contacts.
