Bookmark search in location bar does not produce proper results

(note: I have hundreds of bookmarks) I search the word "idea" in the location bark (with prefs set as searching for Bookmarks) and only SOME of the bookmarks with "idea" in the name come up. I type "ideas" and they all disappear, even though there IS one with the word "ideas". This happens even in Safe Mode.

Does it happen in new profile? Make is as described at [[Managing profiles]] ; import the bookmarks into the new profile via the import/export to HTML feature in bookmarks - organize bookmarks window; change the Location bar search setting; check for the issue.

  • Location bar does not display in CSH window

    Good morning all,
    I've got a RH8 project calling a custom CSH window. We want the location bar to appear in the help window so users can navigate forward and backwards among the topics.
    I've created a new window in RH8 and selceted the Location Bar and Resizeable checkboxes under Properties (CSH API use only).
    When I generate and test on my local system, the location bar does indeed appear. However, when calling the help topic from the web application, no location bar appears.
    So, a couple of questions:
    1. Where does RH8 store information on the custom window I created?
    2. Is the file they're stored in human-readable? I'd like to check that what I'm doing in the RH8 UI is properly getting written to the files I'm sending to the developer.
    Thanks for any insight you can provide.
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick
    What you define using the WebHelp Window definiton just gets pushed out to a JavaScript file. The WebHelp API simply contains a function that causes a new window to present using the attributes you specify in RoboHelp.
    You need to ensure your developer is properly coding the call.
    Question for you here. Did you define a specific size and location as well? When you test the call, does the window open at the specified size and location? If not, you are seeing a definite issue with the call being made.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to remove history in the location bar? Deleting history and then using "History" only in the settings for the location bar does not remove old history.

    I want to remove ''old History'' in the Location bar.
    I am using Firefox 3.6.13.
    "Clear recent history" does not remove the old History in the Location bar. And changing the setting to only show "History" does also not remove the old history.
    Pressing "Delete" on single lines when opening the list by clicking the arrow to the right in the location bar, remove the entries temporary. But next time you type in the location bar, the same suggestions are there.

    See:
    * [[Clearing Location bar history]]
    * [[Cannot clear Location bar history]]
    Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.<br />
    You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />
    This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.

  • Location bar does not go to address when I press enter

    I've just upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1. When i click on an address or type in an address in the location bar and press ENTER on my keyboard, it doesn't take me to the address, the tab stays blank like i've not done anything. I have to click on the little arrow key at the right hand side of the location bar for it to go anywhere!
    How do i fix this? I've been in to the Tools>Options menu and checked the box that says "When i open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" but this hasnt done anything.
    Thank you

    AVG Safe Search has been known to cause that problem. Disable it (Add-ons, click on it, click "Disable") and restart Firefox, then test.
    Check with AVG for an update.

  • Arrow in the location bar does not work

    When I want to revisit some web pages I cannot use the down arrow in the location bar to go to those web sites gain. what should I do?
    Thanks

    Hello Ismail.
    It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
    If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

  • When Hard-coded server name and data base name are replaced with variables , execute process task does not produce the result

    Hi All,
    I am trying to load shape file into a sql spatial table. A execution process task is used to run the ogr2ogr.exe program.
    This is how the process tab looks like .
    Executable : C:\gdal_ogr2ogr\bin\gdal\apps\ogr2ogr.exe
    Argument :  -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server=SQL-ABC-DEV;database=MYSIMPLE_Dev;Trusted_Connection=True;\\mypath\files\shares\Data\www.mypage.htm\my_sample_file.shp
    Success value : 1
    For above settings, package runs fine. The spatial table is created in SQL server db. However when hard-coded SQL server name and database name are replaced with global variables , the spatial table is not created in the database. Yet the package runs fine.
    It does not throw any errors. (I am using another variable for full file path. It is not causing any errors though)
    " -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server="+@[$Project::SQLServerName]+";database="+ @[$Project::DatabaseName] +";Trusted_Connection=True;"+ @[User::Filepath] + "\\my_sample_file.shp"
    Both variables are string type. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here please?
    I am running this in VS 2012.
    Thanks for your help in advance..
    shamen

    There should be a single space just after True:
    before
    " -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server="+@[$Project::SQLServerName]+";database="+ @[$Project::DatabaseName] +";Trusted_Connection=True;"+ @[User::Filepath] + "\\my_sample_file.shp"
    after keeping the space
    " -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server="+@[$Project::SQLServerName]+";database="+ @[$Project::DatabaseName] +";Trusted_Connection=True; "+ @[User::Filepath] + "\\my_sample_file.shp"
    Thanks

  • Since upgrading to Mavericks the "search" function in mailbox does not show any results, however spotlight is working fine.

    The search function on my mailbox is not responding after trying to search my mailbox. I am able to search my mailboxes through Spotlight though. This seems to be since upgrading to mavericks.
    I was wandering if anyone has this problem and knows how I can resolve it.
    Thank you

    Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

  • Your search did not produce any results

    Hi,
    I'm publishing my iWeb site to my ME.COM account.
    I have the site password protected as offered in iWeb.
    But when the site is password protected the search with the iWeb search field does not provide any results.
    Only the message:
    "Your search did not produce any results."
    If I disable the password protection for the site in iWeb and republish, the search provides the expected results.
    Any idea what's wrong?
    Thanks and Regards,
    JO

    Sorry, didn't test enough.
    After publishing a few new blog entries under the password protected site, I tested the search again and it does not return any results.
    It was working for a short time when I republished unprotected and then again protected.
    Now that I added block entries under the protected site mode, search is brogen, again.
    Any Help?
    Thanks and Regards,
    JO

    Summary: API: JR_CHECK_REF.CHECK_FOL_REFS does not return proper results
    Description:
    For User Extensions, the API is returning unexpected/unexplained results for Association types identified as not in the repository.

    Firefox 4.0 - the bookmark bar does not work. It appears but will not accept drags.
    PC w Windows XP - 3.
    Another thing too - The open new tab does not show up at all, in order to open a new tab I had to put the "open new tab" tab into the navigation toolbar.
    (Works fine on my other computer, & it drives me nuts to have to use Firefox w 2 different setups...)

    Hello, Woodman928--
    Your Yahoo! Toolbar definitely does have an option:
    ''' 1.''' Click the little green "wheel" icon on your Yahoo
    toolbar;
    '''2. ''' A short, small menu box drops down;
    '''3.''' choose to click on either the "Toolbar Preferences" entry
    or the "Change Toolbar Skin" entry.
    ...If you don't have the little green wheel icon, just paste '''''http://help.yahoo.com//l/us/yahoo/toolbar/toolbar8/''''' in your browser, press ENTER, and you'll be taken to the place where you can set up your toolbar, upgrade it, or find Yahoo's help sites to tell you what to click next in order to get it.
    That's about it. and you'll be all set!

    .Hello,
    Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
    '''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
    #Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
    #After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
    #Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    #*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    #*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
    #Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    ##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    ##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
    <b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
    Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.
