Bookmark titles being truncated at 40 characters

I have created heading styles (H1-H5) in my Word Document.  When I convert the file to a PDF and create Bookmarks, the long heading titles are truncated at 40 characters when I create the Bookmark structure.  Any advice for fixing the truncation issue?
I am using Adober Acrobat X Pro.

The error/issue is not with Acrobat.  As you save the Word file as a PDF open the 'options' box and check the box 'Create bookmarks using headings'; all heading text should be displayed in the bookmark without truncation.

  • Import files into iTunes song title is truncated

When importing files using the "File - Add File To Library" function for songs with very long title names, the song title is being truncated at about 35 characters upon import into Itunes. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

iTunes supports a maximum of 40 characters for file and folder names, inclusive of file extension for the files that it manages.
Tag properties such as Artist, Album, and Name are typically limited to 256 characters. Files in .wav format don't have a tag so it is usually these that cause difficulties when reimported to iTunes. The filename including any leading track number is used as the name of the imported track and all other fields are left blank. If iTunes was managing the track names in a previous library then the 40 character limits will apply reducing what can be read from the path and on reimport iTunes will typically move the files from their original location into the Unknown Artist\Unknown Album folder discarding more potentially useful information. If this is the issue, but you have the files somewhere in sensible artist and album folder with longer filenames, then turn off the options for Keep... and Copy... before adding to the library and use my script TagFromFilename to reconstruct missing information from the file path.
If the issue is simply how iTunes names the imported track when viewed in Windows Explorer, and it has the complete information in the iTunes interface, then you can use my script ConsolidateByMovingLong.

  • Long "Memo" in Treo650 being truncated in Outlook "Note"

While synchronizing with Outlook, the memos that are a bit long (big number of characters) are being truncated in the Notes of outlook. Same is happening to the Address, while i have one address with a long text in the "Note" section. This note section is truncated in the corresponding Outlook contact. Finally, the birthday of addresses is not showing in Outlook contacts. I am using Palm Desktop 6.2.2; Hotsync Manager 7.0.2; Conduit Sync with ourlook for Outlook 2007; Outlook 2007.

  • ICloud backups failing due to Safari bookmarks DB being locked

iCloud backups are failing to complete on my iPhone 4 (CDMA), iOS 5.0.1.  I successfully completed a backup on November 9, but haven't been able to get a backup to complete since then.  When I manually invoke the "Back Up Now" function, it starts backing up, then says "There was a problem completing the backup.  Please try again later."
Looking in the console logs (below), it appears the problem is that the Safari bookmarks DB is locked (corrupted?).  Indeed, I am unable to add additional bookmarks in Safari, I get the message: "Bookmarks are being synced.  Please add the bookmark once syncing has completed."
I've tried restarting the iPhone to no avail; I've also looked at Apple's iCloud backup troubleshooting doc, and none of the cases there seemed to match this problem.
Any suggestions ar every much appreciated!

Had same problem, the solution lies with having your original apple ID associated email address "verified".
I may not have all the steps down correctly, but open your apple ID account manager and go to the your listing for email and "verify" the email address.  This association then seems to allow the use of your email address when you are trying to set up this new apple ID that they are requiring for iCloud.
Be aware that this new apple ID has a far reach and apparently cannot be undone, that is you can't change the name, characters, numbers or whatever you have for an email address that becomes your apple ID---even if you can no longer use the email address to receive email.
    Lots of luck.
I have been trying to get the iCloud features to work for over a week now, including a visit to a genius bar, and still not fully functioning.

  • Truncation of Heading characters when an ALV is exported to an excel sheet

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem while printing an ALV output on to an excel sheet. In the header the last characters are being truncated in the excel.
Now, I have the entire data in tb_output itab. So using REUSE_ALV*, i printed the output. Here comes the problem.
I heard about LIST_FROM_MEMORY and LIST_TO_ASCI which can solve this problem. But not much sure how to use those. Whether I need to pass my itab tb_output into any of these?
Please help me out from this problem.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Seenu

    Hi!
    You have 2 options:
    1. Shorten your headings so that their length is LE to the fieldlength of the data they are displaying. E.g. for PO number maximum possible is 10.
    2. Try using the parameter OUTPUTLEN in the field catalog. You can increase this to be equal to the length of your column heading.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers!

  • Stored Proc output being truncated with latest ojdbc14 and classes12.jar

    Hello,
I downloaded the latest ojdbc14.jar from Oracle website and used it with my Java program. I noticed a peculiar behavior. If my stored proc is returning a VARCHAR with large number of characters, the output is being truncated. This worked fine with the older ojdbc14.jar (and the older classes12.jar). It does not work properly with the new ojdbc14 and classes12.jar. Is there something that I am missing here?
My Oracle Server version is - Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0.
Below is the sample stored proc and the Java file to execute the same.

  • Informatica partially truncating double byte characters

I am running Business Intelligence Applications 7.9.5. We have a case where Japanese and Chinese data from the OLTP is being truncated when being transferred to the SRMW through Informatica. For example:
    From Siebel ジョン From s_contact
    From SRWM ジ from w_person_d
Has anyone else come across this?
    Our environment:
Code page for OLTP is AL32UTF8
Code Page for SRMW is AL32UTF8
Code page for Informatica per the manual ISO 8859-1 Western European

The problem was not the code page but the column size in the Informatica mapping. The first name column in the source and target databases are VARCHAR2(50 CHAR). The column width in the Informatica workflow had to be adjusted to 150 for asian characters. The column size adjustments only need to be made in Informatica not the database. This was confirmed by Oracle and Informatica support.

  • Subject being truncated

I have had a couple users report subjects in emails they send are being truncated to 2 or 3 characters through webaccess. Anyone seen this behavior ? Gw2012 sp2 on oes11sp1.
The one I checked seemed to be sending to a user created group when it was truncated, but I can't tell for sure if this is related.

  • File is being truncated by Sender File Adapter

    Hello,
My input file is very wide. It has got 175 fields and is around 4000+ char wide. When file adapter loads it, the inbound payload does not contain all the fields (i.e. it is being truncated). Any idea that how can I load this too wide file!
    Thanks,

    Hey Dehra,
<i>Firstly, the number of records in your file is not a problem at all. Your limitation is the length of one record. See question 3 in note 545923. It says that your transfer structure cannot be more that 1962 bytes including the system fields.
Now to calculate how many fields will fit into 1962 bytes. For this, take the first field. If the infoobject is defined as CHAR 9 then it is 9 bytes, a key-figure is 10 bytes most of the time. So add up. Remember even if in your flat file there are 2 chars but it is mapped into a char 9 field, it still counts as char 9. I don't think number of columns is a factor.
You can split your file into multiple files of 1962 bytes size but keeping the unique key of the records common across all the files. So that you can merge then in an ODS maybe. Again remember that fields like request number, date packet number, partition ID and record number has to be there in every PSA and a part of the 1962 limit.</i>

This might help you to solve your problem

  • Why are my bookmarks not being saved locally if the save to cloud feature is disabled?

Why are my bookmarks not being saved locally on my ipad mini if the save to cloud feature is disabled?

They should be. If you have lost bookmarks try restarting Safari:
    1. Press the Home button
    2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
    3. Touch and hold on the Safari icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
    4. Touch the "-" to terminate Safari.
    5. Restart Safari and see if your Bookmarks are back.
