"Bookmark toolbar" is visible as drop down menu but shows empty bar even though it is checked on in "view" menu
the horizontal "bookmark toolbar" is checked on in the "view" "toolbars" menu, but appears as a blank bar, without any entries. If I go to "Bookmarks" on the menu bar I can see the "bookmark toolbar" entries. How can I make visible the bookmarks saved in the horizontal "Bookmark toolbar".
Check that you still have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
Make sure that all the toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* Check in "View > Toolbars > Customize" that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize window onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

Firefox 3 has a context menu for the drop down list of
the Location Bar. One option on this menu I used often

The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.<br />
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.<br />
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".<br /> -
In IE when you show the drop-down list from the location bar, it show you all of your most recently visited pages in descending order with the most recent at the top. Firefox is showing me a list that I have no idea where it's getting the pages from or how it's ordering them. It doesn't update the pages or the order when I go to a new page. I have recently switched from IE to Firefox and cannot figure out how to get Firefox to do this; very annoying.
That drop down list doesn't show recently visited pages, but shows list list of most visited sites sorted by what the Mozilla devs call frecency (frequency and recency) and is based on bonus points. It is not possible to have much influence on what shows on that list.
If you want a list of recently visited sites then you can use a smart bookmark e.g. on the Bookmarks Toolbar with the location set to this smart folder.<br />

You need to close and restart Firefox to make that folder work as intended.

Search Item drop-down does not show any data for Advanced Search.
Hi,
I have a requirement to add a new criteria to the existing Advanced Search region of 'My Employee Information' in Manager Self Service responsibility. I substituted the AdvancedSearchVO to include the new column. Using personalization i did the below steps to show the new column in the page,
1) Created a 'Message Styled Text' item under Table Layout region to display the result. I associated the View Instance (AdvancedSearchVO1) and View Attribute (AttrColumn).
2) In Advanced Search Panel created a new CriteriaRow and set the 'Search Allowed' property to True.
3) In Advanced Search Mappings i tried to create the new mapping but the Search Item drop-down does not show any of the CriteriaRow item. But Results Item shows the 'Message Styled Text' item created in step 1 above.
Any idea what i would be missing becasue of which 'Search Item' property does not show any data?
I am using OAF version 12.1.1.

But when i tried to create a new custom page with advanced table and created a new LOV column via personalization. i was able to create new search mapping.. but this is not happening in the seeded page case :(.

I am currently using FormsCentral to distribute a form created in Acrobat. I need to add an option to one of the drop down fields but do not want to re-distribute the form due to reporting purposes. How can I do this?
You can open the form in Acrobat, select "File > Save a Copy", open the copy you just saved (it doesn't happen automatically), edit the dropdown to add the new item, save as a new file, and then Reader-enable the file by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools. The resulting PDF should work with FormsCentral just like the original.

On my new MacBook Air, in a online CRM software NetSuite, the drop down does not show all of the items. The drop down is trunckated, cutting off the last 5 or so item. For drop downs with a shorter list of options this is not a problem. Suggestions?
Not an Apple application so there isn't much we can do. I would recommend restarting the computer and retesting, if the problem persists you should contact the developer for support and ensure the license you have is designed to run on the version of OS X installed on your system.

I am running MS Office for Mac 2008 on my MacBook Pro. I do not have the Standard and Formatting toolbar fixed into position, as I would expect and would like. I can access them via the View menu, where I have to select and de-select them before I can get them to display, but lose them when I log off. Can anyone help? I have tried all the usual and supplied help facilities to no avail. Thanks

After updating to 29.0.1, I can no longer see my bookmarks tool bar even thogh it is checked in view
I can see where the bookmarks toolbar should go, as when I deselect, it goes away, but when selected, I cannot see the bookmarks that are listed in my bookmarks toolbar. I can see them when I choose show all bookmarks, just not as a one button item I had before in the bookmarks toolbar. Not happy. Is there a fix, or should I look to Chrome?
Make sure that toolbars like the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.
*3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
*View > Toolbars (press F10 to show the Menu bar)
*Right-click empty toolbar area
Open the Customize window via the button in the 3-bar Firefox menu button drop-down list.
*check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
*if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
*if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup

When I play one of my clips on imovie it shows up black even though I can see the whole clip on my menu of movies when I'm not playing it. Does that make sense and can someone help me with this problem?
Long standing problem, much discussion on the forums. Typically it has to do with incompatibility of Microsoft Exchange email client. See the links on "More Like this" at right.

One is to zip compress the file and send the attachment that way.

Was using Chrome - now using Firefox 8.0.1

In Edit this Bookmark box there is no drop-down menu and there used to be!
When we ask to "bookmark this page" we are presented with the appropriate box but there is no drop-down menu on demand just three options from the past followed by an empty box. We used to be presented with all our bookmark categories and then we did something which stopped this (cannot remember what) and we cannot recover the original presentation. Hope this is clear? Please forgive incorrect terms!
Not really clear, but I will try to clear up some of what you see, and tell you that you can fix most of the problems by installing the "'''Add Bookmark to Here2'''" extension, which can help clear up some of the ambiguities, but not all of them, so read the explanation below.
The main problems are:
# You can't really do much unless/until you expand the dialog that is the first drop-down button that appears by itself at the far right as [V] or as [^]. With the extension you can make the expansion automatic for each time you open the bookmark dialog.
# The drop-down to the left shows the most recently bookmarked to folders, but once you click on it you will be at the selected folder and can scroll through all of your bookmarks, expanding where necessary to see subfolders but not bookmarks.
# Below that is a drop-down for tags, this is the most confusing thing every added to a dialog because it gets close to and confused with other drop-downs. My suggestion is if you don't use tags, eliminate the tag display entirely with the extension.
Additional advantages of installing the extension.
# Adds back the keyword field, which is essentially a single alias for a bookmark and will allow you to invoke a commonly used bookmark without the foolish additional searching and clicking to lookup or use a bookmark, and it allows you to include substitution values associated with a shortcut. (see [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/kws.htm keyword shortcuts] for examples and how to make your own).
#Allows you to make use of the Description field, you can modify it to suit yourself, but correctly made web pages have a description, and you can include that or modify how it reads for your bookmark. The description is not searchable when you try to search your bookmarks.

No languages visible in drop down menu for spelling under preferences
My IT department just gave me a new computer and we downloaded a copy of Dreamweaver 4 (we use this version for various reasons although it is old). When I went tot he preferences, under 'General' and 'Spelling Dictionary' the drop down menu is blank and I cannot select anything. The spell checker works but I no longer get the red squiggly line under spelling errors when working on a web page (like you get in a Word document). I don't know how to get this feature back.
Spell check in DW, at least the built in spell checker, is a manual process with a dialogue pop up that allows you to Ignore, Change, Ignore All or Change All on a word by word basis. There's never been a live red squiggly line like Word, and just about every other program under the sun, as far back as at least DWCS3 (the oldest version I've used).
You should still have a little over a dozen options in the language drop-down though.
I'd try clearing the cache/personal config file for the program: Deleting a corrupted cache file
Then restore preferences if that doesn't work: Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6 -
I get "icons and text" or "text" but "icons" only do not appear. You say the default setting should be icons only but this just isn't the case. Is this a programming issue?

The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

You need to create the chrome folder and a plain text file called userChrome.css in this folder (the names are case sensitive).

The option is to set text, text and pictures, or pictures but it affects both bars and how to get the old version back because I just wanted a stupid addon that I didn't even need and now is firefox just stuck this way. I know it's better to have the new version for security or whatever but the new features are bad for me personally I can't use this program how can I get the old version again please help. The advantage of a style is that they are very small compared to extensions, and if you don't like they way it looks, you can modify it. Try to do that with an extension.
The suggested style shows folders in blue, and bookmarklets or bookmarks in red used as buttons.
The deiconizer extension looks rather hard to read, seems rather large for what it does, and it has space wasting drop downs which are meaningless, simply left click to show the folder.

The Home button would show as text ("Home") with the style change, as for Refresh ("F5") and Stop("Esc") the keyboard shortcuts work better for me anyway and have never included them on my toolbars. I keep the Home button to the left of the Location bar anyway so it shows an icon.

When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).
