Bookmark within a page

I need some helps here...
What I want to do is put some bookmarks on a portal page which combines portlets and items.
For example, in a page, you have the "Back to Top" on each section break and it will take you back to top of the page. I know how to do it in HTML but just don't know what is the easiest way in portal design.
Would someone please help?

you can just add a html portlet on top of your page, and links inside your page will refer to it.

Are you asking how do you index what is to appear in a T.O.C.?
Insert > T.O.C. > It will ask you which paragraph styles you wish to index (usually the top 1-3 heading styles and then it does it.

Creating bookmarks on a page or on controls in the page?

Is this available? Generally I like to use the left panel as the "Pages" panel or hidden. I find the bookmarks more of an annoyance unless I have more than a few pages (which happens much less, usually 2-6 pages tops).
So, is there an easy way to add bookmarks to onscreen controls or just have them floating on the page? I work in an office that much of the documentation is shared from various computers so activing another menu item and creating it on my machine would do little to help in terms of effecieny. I'm not familiar with JS but I'm familiar with programming (mostly VB).

Type writer, calculater tape, Text box, highlights,rectangle tools, etc. anything you would add to an existaning PDF for purposes of defining what it is or incorporating it into some analysis. Most of the PDFs I work with are scanned images of documents or converted/printed to PDF from existing software.
A lot of times I'll have a multipage document 4 pages long and some of the relevant information is on the 3rd or 4th page. I'd like to take a typewriter or some other object control and have it be a bookmark, as opposed to having the "Bookmarks" panel open.
This would eliminate two things that happen. One, having to have the panel open all the time, even in documents where there are no bookmarks and two, eliminate the need to use the bookmark panel to retrace or refocus where you are when dealing with an index of bookmarks while your in one bookmark with multiple pages. I.E. I have a PDF with 200 pages, it has roughly 40 parent bookmarks and a few child bookmarks within those 40. Some of those bookmarks are mulitple pages but rather create a 2nd or 3rd tier bookmark for each page, I'd like to have the first page of the multipage bookmark have objects on it to lead into the remaining page(s) with relevant information.

With firefox, how do I bookmark a new page into folder contained in From Internet Explorer?

i imported IE favorites into firefox bookmarks. my IE favorites contained many folders with different categoties of information......eg., folders for car repair, investments,etc. now that i am using firefox, how do i
bookmark a new page into one of the existing IE favorite folders? I have tried every option I could think of using the options shown when i click bookmark this page.......i am getting as far as FROM INTERNET EXPLORER, but i can't seem to find a way to reach one of the sub-folders within the FROM INTERNET EXPLORER folder? also, nothing is happening when i click on the star symbol to the right of the address space?

Before your response was received, I continued to fiddle with the popup box that appears when you click the "bookmark this page". in my fiddling, i noticed that at least once, a litlle small solid triangle appeared just before From IE....I clicked on that little triangle and voila, there were all my sub-folders under the main IE folder!!! Nowhere in all the old posted Firefox support had I seen I clear illustration of doing this......probably I missed it or I'm just a dumbie?
Meanwhile, if anyone is having all kinds of strange problems with computer, and no browsers including IE, with the exception of Firefox, are working properly, if you have Norton Security on your computer and it al;so is not working properly, UNINSTALL NORTON!!!!!!!!!!! That was my situation, to the extent HP free support was going to help me wipe the drive and try to put the computer back "as new", but using a different security program!!!!!

Problem Adding Bookmark to Contents Page??

Hi,
I am trying to create a preface page to my book in iBooks Author. I want this preface page to basically give hyperlinks to all of the seperate chapter TOC's so that the user can click on the name of the chapter, and will be taken to that chapter's contnets page. And will look like this:
With each of the poem titles above, linking to each of the Contents Pages, which look like this:
However, I cannot seem to add any bookmarks to the page directly above, due to it being all placeholder and automatically generated text. Any suggestions as to how I can add a bookmark to this page?

according to what I know this issue is related to how DW works and not to the Developer Toolbox as such -- DW can be a little picky when it comes to the "document structure" it expects, and
(depending what document parts you´re actually "including") won´t let you do certain actions like e.g. adding a server behaviour just because it "thinks" the
(probably "included" ?) body tag isn´t there.

External reference to bookmarks within pdf

I'm using Abobe reader 9 and I'm trying to insert a hyperlink in Word that refers to a specific bookmark within a pdf. The link keeps resolving to the top of the pdf but not to where the bookmark is located? This there a solution? Thanks

No, but you can specify a specific page number or Named Destination. Look up "PDF Open Parameters" for more info.

I lost my bookmark list where the dropdown doesnt work. Same goes for the webpage address tab where it just does not save. When I try to bookmark a new page after clicking "Bookmark this page", there was no response too. Can someone please help me???

It was still functioning last night and before I close the firefox window, the problem started. The problem persist until now.
1. Bookmark - tried to check the "help" list for lost bookmark but none of them seems to suit the problem i'm facing. The menu tab is there, but when i click on "Bookmarks", my previous bookmark list is not there. When I try to bookmark a new page, there is no window popping up (usually there is a small window pop-up to ask for the label of the website to be bookmarked).
2. The website address tab - usually we have a list of website that we usually visit so we just need to click on the arrow and click on the webpage that we want to visit. But now, I have to type the website address every single time. There is no drop down when i click on the arrow.
Can someone tell me what is wrong with it and please help me to solve this problem. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Upgraded to Firefox 4.0 Can see and use all old bookmarks folders and bookmarks, but cannot see any of the old folders when I attempt to bookmark a new page- only see Bookmarks toolbar & Menu and unsorted bookmarks

Had several bookmarks folders under old Firefox. After upgrade to 4.0 all of these still work via bookmarks menu. Problem is, when I attempt to bookmark a new page and place it in one of my existing bookmarks folders with 4.0, the only folders that Firefox can see are the bookmarks toolbar, bookmarks menu, and unsorted bookmarks. How do I get Firefox to see the old folders so that I can continue to put bokmarked pages in them??

In the "Edit this Bookmark" window, use the 2nd drop-down button, that is to the right of the "Folder", to open a larger window that will allow more folder to appear. See the sloppy red arrow on the screenshot below.

Using a different default component state within each page state

I am using a custom component in multiple page states but would like to have a different default state (for the same custom component) within each page state.
Is there anyway to use a different default component state within each page state .
When I change the default state at a component level it seems to go across all my page states. Any solutions?

hello sofg777, when you're at a page you want to print try to press ctrl+P and select a different printer than the Microsoft XPS Document Writer which seems to be set as your default printer in firefox at the moment.

Is there a way to set the default Initial View to Bookmarks Panel and Page on word documents that I save as PDF?

When I save my word 2013 documents as Adobe PDF I have to open the PDF up, go to File>Properties>Initial View>Navigation Tab and then set the initial view as Bookmark Panel and Page; it gets pretty tedious.
I use Save as Adobe PDF rather than Print to Adobe PDF Printer because I like being able to have the security settings automatically set.
I just want to be able to save my word document as Adobe PDF with the initial view already set as Bookmark Panel and Page, and with security, so I can send it out immediately.
Is this possible?

I have lost my ability to scroll within a page...

Before Mavericks, I could take my cursor with either my TrackPad or Magic Mouse and move the contents of a page up/dn with finger movement within the page on my 27" iMac. Today - I have to go to the edge of the page and manually move the slider .. which is like I did with my Classic II. I checked all the prefs in the system and browsers to no avail.
I just checked my older iMac in the other room running 10.7 ..the Magic Mouse there works just fine within the pages, as does my laptop's trackpad. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

In Sharepoint Server, can you create a hyperlink to a specific bookmark on a page by using the [[double square brackets]]?

I really like the ability to use the square double brackets for hyperlinks. It is much easier because it automatically changes the hyperlink if the page name changes. I would like to do this with bookmarks on other pages (for example,
I am on the home page, but I want [[Products#Automotive]] to take me to the Products page at the Automotive bookmark.

Hyperlink to a location within a page

Hi,
I'm trying to create a way to hyperlink to an image WITHIN a long page. Is there any way to make a link that "jumps" to a given location within a page, instead of to the top of the page?

Bookmarks Panel and Page Display

BACKGROUND:
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and now when I convert a Word2010 doc to PDF using Acrobat 9 Pro Create PDF. Once the file oepns in Acrobat, I then make the following changes:
File > Properties > Initial View >Navigation Tab (Set to Bookmarks Panel and Page) Page Layer (Set to Single Page Continuous)
Preferences are set to: Open cross-document links in same window; allow layer state to be set by user information; allow documents to hide the men bar, toolbars, and window controls.
PDF/A View Mode is sent to Only for PDF/A documents.
The only thing that I have done different is that I did open was Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES8.2 and tested converting a word document into a form last week. I then attempted to convert files from WORD2010 to Acrobat Pro 9 on Friday and say the problems. I am now also having problems with Adobe LiveCycle.
Attempted Resolution: Our Help Desk uninstalled and then re-installed Acrobat Pro 9 but that has not resolved the issue. They are recommending that they wipe my profile and build it again. I am hoping to avoid that and hope someone can help me with this issue.

The Bookmark Panel to the left of the pdf is not displaying - I have checked everything (and double checked under preferences to ensure that under Documents > Open Settings > Restore last view settings when reopening documents is Not checked.)
Have reinstalled Acrobat and still am having issues. The only thing I did was open AcrobatLive and converted a doc to a fillable form - I am getting error messages with that now as well.
