Bookmark word

bonjour,

Cordialement,

  • Problem with creating bookmarks (word- pdf)

Index entries between section number and heading in my word document prevent the creation of the section number in the PDF bookmarks.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (9.4.5) and Microsoft Word 2007.
Does anyone know the problem, and more importantly, does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Manuel

What version of WORD and Acrobat? I just ran PDF Maker with WORD 2007 and AA8 and turned off the headings 3 that were in the document and they did not show up in the bookmarks.

  • Unwanted bookmarks, word 2007

    Hi,
I'm using Word 2007 and the trial version von Acrobat Pro 9 V9.3.0 in Windows 7 (all german versions).
I created a word document with many headings (heading 1 to 5).
I want to convert this doc into a pdf file, but I only want the headings 1 and 2 to be converted into bookmarks in the pdf file. I used the settings window to deselect every item except "heading 1" and "heading 2" (in the bookmarks tab) before I created the pdf file. As a result I got a pdf file with bookmarks down to level 5, not only heading 1 and 2 as I expected.
    I appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    Alex

I have a similar issue. Using all the same software: Word 2007, Windows 7, Adobe Acrobat 9.3.
Bookmarks are created in Acrobat based on my selections in the Preferences menu in MS Word 2007. But they do not jump appropriately; some appear at the top of the page, some in the middle, some with space preceeding and with differing spaces. And I can't distinguish a pattern.
I also have a numeric character string that's inserted before a StyleRef built into to my Word headers. I've never seen this one before.
Please help!  I'm on a deadline, have found nothing in online searches or Adobe help/manuals, and am feeling quite helpless. Crossing fingers and saying prayers not yet producing results...

  • Bookmark Word index

When I create PDFs using PDFMaker / Acrobat Pro 9, it converts TOC entries and footnote markers to clickable links but not index entries - is there any way to enable this?

Thanks Bill, yes I've created an index in Word but the links don't convert as they do for a table of contents.
In PDFmaker, enabling Create Bookmarks, Add Links, Convert cross-references, Convert footnotes, Enable advanced tagging, and all options on the Bookmarks tab doesn't have any effect.
Word doesn't build an index in quite the same way as a ToC (in Word itself the index entries aren't bookmarked) so I'm a bit pessimistic about this feature being in PDFMaker but it'd be nice if someone could confirm this. I've only tested in Word 2003 but I doubt 2007 works differently.

  • Bookmark words in dictionary

Why is such an option not provided?? Any work around that will enable me to bookmarks certain words in dictionary so that I can go through them easily later on..

    Sounds reasonable.
Something strange happened: I renamend my DE file, wrote a name that was unknown to Spell and chose Learn Spelling. As expected, a new DE file was created. I deleted the new DE file, quit and relaunched Pages — and Pages still knows the spelling! I searched my HD for other places whre AppleSpell could safe the information but found nothing.
Regarding opening the custom spelling files: I got best results with (Aqua)Emacs. Emacs displays the delimiter (^@) between the words which appear to be lined up in Textedit.

  • In the topmost Firefox menu with File,Edit,View,History,Bookmarks, I can not get the list of bookmarks to display as they did before. The Bookmarks menu does not open up into the list of bookmarks.

I am running Mac os 10.6.8 and Firefox 6.0.1 on a MacBook Pro and on a desktop Macintosh.
The large computer displays a list of bookmarks when you click on the uppermost Bookmarks menu.
The MacBook Pro displays the following when you click on the Bookmarks word in the top menu:
"Show all Bookmarks, Bookmark this Page, Bookmark all Tabs and an icon with a blue dot next to Bookmarks Toolbar with an arrow to the right and below that it says Unsorted Bookmarks.
There is no display of the list of bookmarks from which I can chose as I do on the larger desktop macintosh computer.
How can I get the list of bookmarks to show as a list when I click the Bookmarks menu?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • What is the bookmark button for? It keeps disappearing.

The bookmark button shows at 'customize' time but then just goes away. What is it for?

That Bookmark button appears when the Menu Bar is hidden and the Bookmarks word menu item won't appear. Showing the Menu Bar is the default for WinXP; with Vista & Win7 the Menu Bar is hidden by default.
That particular Bookmarks button opens a slightly truncated view of what the Bookmarks menu item on the Menu Bar shows. There's another similar Bookmarks button that is sitting in the Customize Palette which opens the Bookmarks Sidebar.
If you want to see the Bookmarks button that "disappears" when you close Customize, open View > Toolbars and click on Menu Bar so the check-mark is gone and Menu Bar will be hidden, replaced by the orange Firefox button.

  • When I change the position of the bookmarks button it always jumps to the same position (in the bookmarks bar). How can I make it stay where I want it to?

When I try to change to position of the symbol for the bookmarks it doesn't matter where I put it, always when I click on "Finish" the button jumps back in the middle of the bookmarks bar, right of the bookmarks and left of two addons (FoxyTunes and Forecastfox).

Sorry, that specific Bookmarks button ''(with the drop-marker down arrow or '''bookmarks''' word)'' is tied to the Bookmarks Toolbar when it is shown, and only appears when the Menu bar is hidden and the Firefox button is showing. It is not a "regular" toolbar button.
There is the original Bookmarks button, in the Customize Palette, which toggles the Bookmarks Sidebar view. It will stay where you put it on the Toolbars.

  • Websites i have not visited appear on my history. How do i detect someone else jumping on my wireless?

I have found websites i have not visited appear on my browsing history.
At first they look like pop-ups (because they're for online poker and porn) but actually they are visited websites.
I'm using Firefox on my iMac with a password-enabled wireless connection. Since turning on my firewall the problem's gone away but that's causing havoc with my bluetooth stuff.
Apple told me that because I route my PS3's internet through my mac, all bets are off - but i want to find the clown(s) who's been jumping on my wireless for free. My ISP is useless - the only advice they can give is that i change my password...
Anyone got any ideas? any downloadable progs which could recognise computers trying to join my network?
All help would be very appreciated...

    1. By default in WinXP installations of Firefox, the Menu Bar is showing with the Bookmarks word menu-item - the Bookmarks '''button''' appears when the user hides the Menu bar by clicking on View > Toolbars, then clicking on the Menu Bar menu-item to remove the check-mark.

  • Nothing works my beachball is spinning all the time

I have a MacBook Pro and upgraded to Yosemite a few weeks ago. The first week was a learning process but it has been impossible since then. Literally every task I try to do I have the beachball spinning, SAFARI, GOOGLE, BOOKMARKS, WORD, EXCEL, ITUNES, ALL OF THEM. I wait FOR several to many minutes for something to open and then the beachball appears again and I cannot even type my entry for another minute or two. My computer is basically unusable.
If we are all having this problem, who won't have this problem with Yosemite? Is Apple trying to crash the world? I have been glad to read on many posts in other strings that many of you have more ram than I do (4) as it has been suggested to me by Apple that I buy more ram - but obviously that does no good.
In describing Yosemite problems many posts only mention "MAIL," and recommend disabling various parts of it. BUT I don't even use apple/google mail so I don't even have the icon referred to on my Activity Monitor. (I am using Entourage)

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • I-beam on headings in printed document

This drove me crazy yesterday, so I thought I'd post my findings in case any of you have had similar problems.
In my printed doc, I noticed that some of my headings had an I-beam at the beginning. I searched this forum and the web for I-beam and RoboHelp and found nothing, so I wondered if it was something Word was doing, not RoboHelp.
I'm sure I would have figured it out quicker if I had more experience with some of Word's features, but despite the fact that I started using Word in 1987 (yes, it was around then), I've mostly used FrameMaker for complex documents.
Those I-beams are Word's way of indicating a bookmark. Somehow my setting for Show Bookmarks in Word got turned on.
This web page tells how to turn bookmarks viewing on and off in Word 2007 and 2010:

(If that page disappears, search for Show Bookmarks Word.)

  • Connecting 4 MacBooks to Office

I am starting a new company. In previous offices I've worked, we had to download all remote/ MacBook files once every week or so in the office.  This was cumbersome and the Office was only periodically "up to date".
So, I would like to set up some sort of remote access to my new company's office computer, by which individuals would remotely sign in each morning and basically work off the office computer.  This way (in my model) each Project Manager's transmittals, emails, Safari bookmarks, Word and Excel documents, and PDFs, just to name a few, would be on the Office computer as they were being created and there would be an instant "back-up" file in case something happened to the remote MacBook.
I know this is possible but how?  Would I use Slink?  Is there an Apple product which does this?  Which program would you recommend and why?  My company will eventually have  7 employees max - 2 ASAP - who will require this feature.
Would the files be organized by User or by Project?  I am trying to integrate communications so Office personnel can build on a Remote user's research and vise-versa, without repeating work so I'm thinking by Project would be best.  If organized by Project though, could emails from a variety of Users be included?

It sounds like you want network accounts, or mobile accounts, in Mac OS X Server.

  • Got new computer, can't add my library

How do I get my itunes library on my new computer? I tried to sync my ipod but it's asking me to erase the content. Is there any way around this?

That's one way. You can also set up windows networking and file sharing, and transfer the files over your home network, or an ethernet crossover cable.
Just like you would copy ANY file over to your new PC, whether it's digital photos, browser bookmarks, word processing documents, etc. Being music files and itunes doesn't change much about that part.
The one file that is special to itunes is the database file that holds ratings, playlists, playcounts, etc, that your ipod was syncing to.
    iTunes Library.itl
Here is an iLounge article on itunes database vs itunes content
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/
Or you can just start over with a fresh new itunes library.

  • How do I get help from the 'manufacturer' of this software?

The 'help' index search isn't helping. All I wanted to do was add a 'bookmark' to an existing folder. Tried to do an index search but got really confused.

    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Other+Firefox+support <br />
This forum and "chat" are your choices for getting Firefox support from Mozilla beyond the knowledgebase support articles.
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Bookmarks#Making_new_bookmarks
You can also drag the "website image" from the URL bar or a Tab into the correct folder in the Bookmarks Sidebar {Ctrl + B}. You can drag the "website image" onto the Bookmarks Toolbar to save the new bookmark there. You can also drag the "website image" to the Bookmarks word on the Menubar, the bookmarks drop-down will open and then you can navigate to the folder where you want to save the new bookmark. With all three, the bookmark will be saved when you release the left mouse button.
