Bookmarking/Linking Between Pages

I started with two documents, one in Illustrator (map) and then multiple pages (supporting documents) in Word.. PDFs (using v8 Pro) were generated from both and merged into one PDF document.
The map has 30 objects on it that I would like to link to specific supporting pages in the document.  Additionally, I would like to link each of the supporting documents back to the map.
Is this something that I can do in Acrobat alone, or do I need to pull it all into InDesign and link everything there?
I would prefer to leave it in Acrobat if possible.
Thank you,
Christine

Figured it out!! :-)

  • Links between pages not working

I can't seem to get links between pages in my folio to work. Links between multiple pages of a single article will work, but when I try to link from one article to another article, nothing happens.
Using CS 5.5, Folio builder 1.1.3.
    Thnx,

The Help page for this is: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS67cb9e293e2f1f60-8ad81e812b10bfd837-80 00.html#WS67cb9e293e2f1f606f59889512d69320e0d-8000
The syntax for your Hyperlink is: navto://articlename#1
Replace articlename with the name of the article you want to jump to, and replace the number 1 here with the specific page number you want to link to, remembering that DPS wants to count from zero rather than from one. So...
    navto://Fish_Fingers#2
...would link to the third page of the article named 'Fish_Fingers'.

  • Link Between Pages in a PDF Report

It would be great to be able to make a link between different pages in a DIAdem report, and have those links carry over into a PDF version of the report. For example, if I had a very large report, it might be useful to be able to create a Table of Contents with links to the different sections of the report.
Currently, the PDF creation process will create bookmarks for the pages, but a link within the document might be easier to use when examining the report.

I agree, links would be great (as occasionally related items aren't placed directly side-by-side)!
In general, a 'table of contents' customizable sheet would be very useful as well.
We've created our own in the past in scripts that export large reports, but have had users complain because it didn't 'auto-update' so if they rearranged the sheets, it would be wrong.

  • Favicon code for bookmark link on page displayed

I have successfully added a favicon to the url bar and the browser tab and the page bookmark(firefox) or favorites(IE) feature.
But, how do I add it to the bookmark link code I have put in the page template. I ask this because I have created a bookmark link on the page for the user to use in saving the location of the page without the session number in the bookmark/favorite. This is the code for the bookmark link:
    {div align=right}
    {a href="javascript:window.external.AddFavorite('http://apex.gov:XXXX/APP_NAME', 'APP_NAME')"}
    {span style="font-size: 11px;color:#333333"}Bookmark Site{/span}{/a}{div}
Where would I put this part in?
    {link rel="shortcut icon" href="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#favicon32.ico" type="image/x-icon"/}
Please note that I used curly braces instead of pointy braces.
    Thanks,
    Maggie

If you put the link to your favicon somewhere between the head tags of your page it should work (not tested though).

  • How can I keep the links between pages in a PDF file after the file has been saved?

My accounting department has just starting using Adobe Acrobat XI Standard to make our account reconciliations.  I like that we can create links between one page and the next, so that we can show our supervisor where the account balances tie to the supporting documentation.  But I have noticed the links disappear after my supervisor reviews and signs the PDF file.  Is there a way we can keep the links after it is signed?  Please note that we are not using EchoSign, just the “place signature” function in Acrobat.

When a document is signed, the signer has the option of locking the document. The links won't be active if the document is locked, so to avoid this, instruct the signer not to lock when signing.

  • Linking Between Pages in a document

Is it possible to link a page in a document to another page using hyperlink in Pages?
For example, if you have a 50 page document and you are on page 30, can u make a link so that if you press on it, it goes page 23?
    Thanks for helping me out.

    Hi Batman,
Pages09 User Guide on Page 111:
Linking to Other Pages in a Document.
You can download the User Guide from the Help menu in Pages. Well worth a read.

  • Linking between pages in same article

I'm making a report that contains only one article, that will scroll horizontally.
I want to make a table of contents.
Now I'm wondering what the best way is to do this.
I can use the "go to page" or "navto", but if I would insert new pages before the page linked to, it would all be messed up :-)
    (and you know clients... ;-)
So the obvious thing for me is a text anchor.
But these are still not supported, right?
    (neither is "go to destination")
Does anybody have a better idea to do this?
    Thanks a lot!
    Jill

    Hi Bob,
    thanks for the quick reply.
Too bad it's not one I hoped to receive
I'll just have to wait until the end to put in the buttons.
The reason for one article is a budget consideration.
It's much quicker to make a dps version of a printed report if I use only one article.
(It was a choice between having a few reports digital with articles or all reports but with horizontal scrolling)

  • Linking between pages is not working for me on mobile devices. Can someone help?

I can get the page linking to work on my desktop machine, but when I preview on mobile devices through Edge Inspect the page does not work. It tells me the page can't be found. Can someone help? - Thanks Robin

Try downloading Reflow Preview 8 that was released yesterday and see if that fixes it. If not can you post the name of the page you are trying to link too and I'll see if I can reproduce it.
Thanks for you help and thanks for using Reflow,
    Chris

  • Can u create a 'slow merging' link between pages

I'm creating a link so when u click a word it loads another page but instead of an 'instant' transition, can u make it blend/merge slowly?
    Thx

You can if the document is in full-screen mode (command-L) and you have a page transition (Preferences/Full Screen) ...
It's not Flash based transition quality as such but you might be able to fudge it ..

  • Links between pages

How do I link from one web page to a specific named anchor on another web page?

Actual "named anchors" are deprecated in html5. Instead, html5 allows you to link to the id of any element within a page as if it was a named anchor. If you're not using the html5 doctype, there's nothing to worry about though and you can follow CF's instructions.
If you are using html5, you should switch to the id anchor method. In that case, all you need to do is click an image or highlight a block of text and make sure it has an html id in the Properties window. Then link to it the same way CF mentions above...
    <a href="page.html#id">Link</a>

  • Link between Pages

    Hi,
We need to create 2 pages in Dashboard and want to place all Dashboard filters in one page and the output in another page. We want when user click go button it should open another page which displays the result from filter page.
Please let me know if it is posible.
    -Amit

In fact I don't understand the setup well...you first will do a select count from table based on prompt values, to execute this, you have to click already on the GO button?!
And when the retrieved number satisfies the user, he can click once again on the same go-button or another one to open the report?
In that case you can make use of a guided navigation or some html text to add a button like this <input type="button" value="Go To Report" onclick="GO DASHBOARD statement">
If haven't tried it out myself, but may this can help you.

  • Bookmark link on Dashboard page (11g)

    Experts,
We have Placed the Create Bookmark link below the reports i.e. we did the below
Action link -> Edit Action link - Text as Create Bookmark Link in Link Text -> Action -> Navigate to BI Content (Dashboard page from Shared folder) -> click OK ->
Check enable the Add to Briefing Book -> Click OK.
For the above it will directly open the dashboard page, but we need to create Prompted bookmark link i.e. where we'll give the prompts values and create the prompted bookmark link, it should open the dashboard page with filtered data.
*(We know the option is available in Edit Dashboard - Create Prompted link, this option should come below the report)*
    Thanks,
    Balaa...

    Kavitha,
Add a Action link -> Edit Action link - give text like Create Bookmark Link in Link Text -> Action
Select the Dashboard page from Shared folder -> click OK -> Check enable the Add to Briefing Book -> Click OK.
    Thanks,
    Balaa...

  • How to create hypertext links between various text within a Pages document?

I have documents with paragraphs or sentences that are usually numbered like within a constitution, legal document or biblical text and then later in the document want to link back to the text. How do I create those links within Pages?

Not supported with Pages v5.5.2 on Yosemite. Document bookmarks are available in the older, but far more powerful Pages '09 v4.3.

  • Bookmarks Links Goes to Wrong Direction (Page)

    Hi,
I just added bookmarks to pages title. by following right click on title of page Interactive-New Bookmark.
I had totaly 9 pages first and I done about 7 bookmarks for pages. first all of them was fine. but after I have added 4 extra pages after last page, my some of the bookmarks is begining to go last page!
I did delete them and insert aganin, allways goto last page.
    Where can I edit that?
    thanks.

Which version of InDesign are you using? (On Windows: Help > About InDesign, on Mac OS: InDesign > About InDesign).
I tried to see if I could replicate the issue you are seeing, but the Bookmarks panel definitely points to the correct page numbers, even when I move pages around – this is in InDesign CC 2014.2 Release  /  Build 102..0.69
I'm not entirely sure what's happening but the following might be of help:
When you select an object and right-click Interactive > Bookmark, the bookmark you create references a page, NOT the object you had select as far as I'm aware. In my version of InDesign, if I move the pages around, after creating the bookmark, the bookmark page number reference automatically updates to reflect the new page. You can check that by selecting the bookmark in the Bookmarks panel and waiting for the tool tip to appear (or just hover the cursor over the bookmark you want to check)
If you move the content you had selected when you added the bookmark to another page. For example by selecting a text frame and moving it to another page, the bookmark will still point to the previous page.
    Try this as a workaround:
Instead of creating Page bookmarks, create the bookmarks more content aware: Highlight the page title text with the Type Tool and choose New Bookmark from the Bookmarks panel (Window > Interactive > Bookmarks).
If you're still having troubles, see if you can provide us some screenshots of what is going on, hopefully they'll help clarify the issue.
