Bookmarking Queries

Hello All,
How do I sort my bookmarked queries in Enterprise portal. Every time I add a new bookmark, it places it at the end of the of the list. The context menu here does not say anything about sorting, just renaming, and new folder.

I am experiencing a similar issue. The same symptoms you described (skipping files/not remembering position(bookmarks)) are happening with files that are longer in length than the average song. I record radio shows with files that average 2 hours in length. My previous nano had ZERO issues with remembering position in these files.

Facing an issue while Bookmarking a report in the query

Hi,
I opened a report in the portal and executed it.
I try to bookmark a page with all my desired factors i want in my query .
and when i bookmark, it diverts me back to an older query that i've created
and all of the links to my previous bookmarks are bringing me back to the same ONE QUERY
i've tried sending my bookmarks to different collegues and when they open it - it leads them to different ones
however when i open them, it leads me back to one same query
the url addresses are different for all these bookmarked queries also
however, they are all diverting me back to the same one.
Please provide me some solution to this issue

You may have enabled a Payables option that does not permit making adjustment for paid invoices.
Try disabling this profile option in AP.

Enhanced Web Printing for Bookmarks

Weve implemented Web printing for BW 3.5 and its been active for several years. After the last upgrade though the Print button calling the ZPRINTING function calls a blank page for all bookmarked queries (regular Queries work fine). The only thing that comes close to working is creating a dummy hidden object on the template and assigning the classes to it ( note 865987 ):

This does not work if the dummy object is a Table. (This seems important to me for some reason since a blank page is displayed if the class is defined against the original Table object or a dummy Table object but not other types of objects).
With another dummy object it works but it calls the Z_PRINT_HELP_SERVICE help service class (without all the formatting weve set up) instead of the one defined in the object. Ive traced the call from the template and can see it running methods from the incorrect class. I can also make changes to the other class and see the changes I make to the attributes reflected in the web page. Its only half working though as any change to the layout in the preview pane results in a blank web page.
Anyone have any direction on if is the correct direction to be going? Im about ready to install the printing transports again and start from scratch.

we are using the Z_PRINTING help service from the SAP tutorial and i have a similar problem here. I am having one template showing the result of one query in the beginning. when I press the PRINT button containing the following...

... everything works fine.
but when I have changed the displayed query in this template via an ITEMVIEWDROPDOWN-Button a new window with only a blank page displays after pressing the PRINT button.
the template contains the following object...

...but when hitting the PRINT button after changing the query the system does execute the ZHR_PRINT_HELP_SERVICE_IMP-class.
any ideas?

Spotlight not finding bookmarks

I just noticed that Spotlight is not finding bookmarks on either my Powerbook or my Powermac G4 - both running 10.4.8 with Security Update 2006-007.
I've reindexed both machines, run Disk Warrior, Onyx, etc. and still no luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

FIXED!!!
Basically, Bookmark queries via Spotlight are read from the ~\Library\Caches\Metadata\Safari folder (the .webbookmark files).
Noting that new bookmarks were recognised by Spotlight (kind:bookmark), I quite Safari, moved the bookmarks.plist file in ~Library\Safari to the Desktop, restarted Safari and imported bookmarks from the .plist file.
Voila! This forced Spotlight to rebuild the ...Metadata\Safari folder (which it wasn't doing so earlier) and all is back to normal!

Use of personalization

In the forums, it is said that personalization is used to store the variable values like bookmarks. then what is the difference between variant and personalization.

Variants are used to store a combination of values for different variables that are used in queries/bookmarks/templates.
Variants once created is available for other users to be used by them when running the bookmarks/queries/template.
Personalization is specific to a particular user.
For example If you have a particular variable and you personalize it for particular value.
In such case all the queries/bookmarks will take these values during execution.
Other users cannot use others personalization settings as its specific to a particular user.

Edit existing Bookmarks to renamed Querie

Hello experts,
we have the following scenario:
We have users in our BI portal which have created bookmarks to BI queries.
Now we want to rename all queries to a new Name-convention.
The existing bookmarks won´t work anymore because they are all linked to the old names of the queries.
Now we went to the backend system and edit the following tables:
RSWR_DATA and RSWR_DATA_XREF to the new-named queries. But this doesn´t work. XML parser get´s an error.
Anyone who has an idea to solve this problem? Queries would be renamed and favorites/bookmarks should point to the new (exactly the same, except the technical-name) queries!

Call Save Dialog [Save As] is not allowing me to Bookmark in Portal

Hi All,
I am facing some problems trying to implement BEx bookmarking into my Portal. To explain a little further about our setup, we have a master web template which is connected to approximately 80+ queries. Within that web template, we have a button which has the CALL SAVE Dialog Save_As which should, in theory, allow users to bookmark their queries via the Portal.
Unfortunately, this is not working and when a user attempts to bookmark a query and save it via the Portal, the following blank screen is displayed with this URL: http://PORT NUMBER/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.navigation.helperservice/html/child.html.
If anyone could offer any insight into this issue I'd be truly grateful - THANKS!

There might be a technical Rollup
When you restart the Application Host Helper Service on Windows Server 2008, it might help.
Or, if not, why don't you try to take an backup of the existing queries & perform a backup. I'm sure the error can be resolved.

How to display newly added bookmarks on top of the list in Unsorted Bookmarks? (not in Bookmark Manager window)

I have hundreds of bookmarks.The Bookmarks Toolbar is filled.I made a shortcut of the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and placed it in on the Bookmarks Toolbar.Whenever I click the star to add a bookmark, it adds one to the real Unsorted Bookmarks, which add a copy of that bookmarks into the folder named Unsorted Bookmarks which is on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
When I click on the Unsorted Bookmarks(both original and shortcut folder), it displays the oldest bookmarks on top, which honestly makes no sense to me because the user has to scroll a lot to get to the newest bookmarks, which are more likely to be used than the old ones that have been sitting there for a long time.Is there any way to sort the bookmarks by a reversed chronological order and display newly added ones on top of the list ?
I am aware that you can do this in Bookmarks Manager window(called Library?) but it requires too many steps and it's time consuming and not easy to use in general.I'd rather click on the folder on Bookmarks Toolbar to open my bookmarks, but they show old ones on top.

Hmm, you might need to create a "smart folder" for this. You may have noticed some blue folders in your bookmarks such as "Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked". These show the results of a query run against your bookmarks or history (Places database) and you can create your own queries with a little elbow grease.
So one possibility might be to create a custom "Recently Bookmarked" folder that extends beyond the current limit of 10. I gave the steps for creating a 20-item version of this folder in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/934205#answer-358492
That example searched ''all'' bookmarks and not specifically Unsorted Bookmarks. To create a new "smart folder" for Unsorted Bookmarks, you could try this:
(1) Select and copy the following places search query:
place:queryType=1&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&sort=12&excludeQueries=1

(2) Expand the Bookmarks Menu (e.g., from the toolbar button or menu bar, or in the sidebar or Library dialog), right-click the first bookmark, and choose New Bookmark

(4) In the Name, enter something like Unsorted Desc (for descending order) or the name of your choice. Then click Add.
(5) Drag the new bookmark to the desired location on the Bookmarks Toolbar. If you are using the menu, click and drag and hover over Bookmarks Toolbar until it expands. Once it is on the toolbar, you can easily move it again to the desired location. During the first move, Firefox will recognize it as a query-type bookmark so that is why I have you create it on the menu and move it to the toolbar.

Issue with variable values while adding report to Bookmarks/Favorites

I am able to save the reports from my portal as bookmarks with the appropiate navigation state & variable values for reports which do not have a mandatory value variable with no default value. For all other queries like queries with no mandatory variables or queries containing mandatory variables with default values, this is working fine. Any inputs is appreciated. We are in BI7.0 with SP12.

BW Bookmark is not working correctly

Hi,
I have created a bookmark for one of the queries built on infocube. Later, i have done some changes to the queries by adding/removing some info cubes. When i am opening my earlier bookmark, it is not opening the report directly, instead it is showing the variable entry screen.
My question is does adding/removing the infoobjects in the query will have any dependency on executing the bookmark directly?

Hi,
Changes to queries or web templates is not supported with regards to bookmarks. Please have a look at note 1089447, which contains the details. SAP recommends to save a copy of the query and do the changes on that copy.

Disappearing Bookmarks

I had about 60 bookmarks on the On Demand content. This morning, there were only about 30 left, but I haven't deleted any and nobody else has access to it. I added some new ones, and I noticed that although the new ones were being added, older ones were then disappearing. I then went back in to bookmarks and found that items I have bookmarked this morning are no longer bookmarked. Why are they disappearing? The films are not being taken offline as the date on them is a few months away.

Is there a way to apply changes in default WAD template to KM Bookmarks?

Hi gurus.
WE ran into the following issue. We have bunch of portal favorites and km bookmarks saved by the users from our BEx Web Analyzer reports. Our Bex Web utilizes a default template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN (renamed to ZZ..).
We have made some customizations to the default template. New queries show the changes, however km bookmarks and favorites saved with an old version of a template still show the old look of the WAD template.
Is there a way to somehow update km bookmarks and portal favorites to reflect the changes in the default template?

This is common issue to customized 0analysis_pattern templates in BI...
Use program - RSWR_BOOKMARK_ADJUST
Select your customized web template..
Web item to be removed - Specify the web item that you changed..
New web items should automatically appear...
Try this program on few affected bookmarks first and then run it wide across without bookmark selection. At one of my clients I adjust 200k such bookmarks.
Use with caution....test properly before you do...You dont want large number of bookmarks becoming useless...

SAP BW Bookmarks - Metadata question

Our users save query views as bookmarks on the portal. Now , If we change the query defination , we would like to know following:
1. Bookmarks created against queries
( I found tables RSWR_DATA_XREF and RSWR_DATA . These tables give me list of bookmarks agains BI query . These bookmarks have a unique SAP internal ID number. How to match SAP internal ID number with Portal bookmark ? )
2. Filters used in Bookmarks
3. Un used bookmarks - Users keep on creating bookmarks and we would like to have a report which can tell us , when was the last time that particular view was executed.

I have a BW 7 system i have searched and in didn´t find the CSV files.....i review the 610236 OSS note....and i have another question.......
I have activated all the objects of SAP Demo but there´s no Infopackages in Business Content objects....
But In OSS note mention a RFC for load data from CSV to infocube ....
Do i have to create them????
Maybe Is not necesary to create the infopackages and only use the RFC??
Which is the right procedure?

Creating new folders while bookmarking?

Sometimes I want to create a new folder at the same time as I bookmark a webpage (similar to creating a new folder when I save a new document for the first time). Firefox, for example, gives me a "New Folder" button to choose when creating a new bookmark. In Safari, however, when I try to bookmark a page,Safari doesn't appear to give me that option (i.e. when I do "Add a Bookmark," the only options given me are to put the new bookmark into one of the pre-existing folders). Am I missing something? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for getting back to me, sorry I was not entirely sure what you were trying to do.
You can can create a folder by going to BT Cloud Sync, and clicking on Create Folder. (Or press the key combination Alt+CTRL+O on your keyboard in the BT CLOUD SYNC view).

Query Views versus Bookmarks

Can anyone help me to understand the difference between a query view and a bookmarked query, and when best to use either of them?
My understanding is that a query view is a saved navigational state of a query. Allowing the same underlying database query to be used for multiple query views, thus saving on system resources and improving performance.
A bookmarked query also seems to achive the same result. It saves a navigational state of a query.
So when should I use a bookmark and when should I use a query view?

I will explain the issue again so please tell me the process we are following is correct or not?
Last month we created views for two queries and attched them in the workbook, the variable values which we have given at that time were month = 01 year 2010.
This month when we try to access the workbooks we are getting 0 records in the views of the workbook.
now my doubt is:
If we create views for variable values month jan and year 2010, will they show output when we change the variable values to Feb, 2010?
or
Do we have to create new views every month and attach them to the existing workbook manually?
