Bookmarks Do Not Understand How they are used
In WORD a table of contents and "bookmarks" in a sidebar are created with the use of header styles. i can navigate a long doc within and across pages by clicking on the title in the sidebar that acts as a bookmark. In Acrobat I can underline a sentence in a PDF file and create a bookmark in a side bar Several of these can be created and they show up in a sidebar in addition to the pages way of navigating a document. Is there any way either in pages or in preview to create this type of navigation. Or is there any way to make a table of contents in pages show up in the exported pdf file' sidebar so that one can click through it. The pdf sidebar does have three forms of navigation -pages-TOC and Annotation

You will notice that when you open it and open the sidebar, there are choices for either thumbnails or table of contents. In this example there are both. (created using acrobat 6 bookmarks) Now here is the question. Can a table of contents like this (in the sidebar of the pdf) which acts as bookmarks in a pdf file be created in pages and exported to pdf --or can it be created in a pdf file? or must i still futz around with acrobat and indesign? The threads here so far suggest that although preview has a place in the sidebar for TOC type bookmarks-- it can not as yet create them (in preview or pages). (Quite a tongue twister. In labwindows after creating the uir then header file is create automatically. There it has define some symbolic constant. As examples of colview.h(from the examples of labwindows )

If anyone explains, it will be a great help.When creating a UIR file, CVI editor takes care of assigning constants to the panels / controls you create in it.
The conceptual framework is the following (assuming to treat the file you have reported in your message):
- Within a single UIR file all panels have a unique ID, which is the one you pass to LoadPanel when loading a panel into memory. LoadPanel (0, "myfile.uir", MAINPNL); is then translated to panelHandle = LoadPanel (0, "myfile.uir", 1); , that is: "load the first panel in the uir file". The panel in memory is then assigned a handle, which is guaranted unique by the OS and saved in panelHandle variable
- Addressing a control in a panel is done e.g. using SetCtrlVal (panelHandle, MAINPNL_NEWTEST, xxx); , which again is translated to SetCtrlVal (panelHandle, 1, 3); that is: "Set control #3 in the panel identified by panelHandle to value xxx".
You must not modify the include file associated to the UIR as it is fully maintained by the IDE and is rewritten each time you save the UIR file.
That conceptual framework has some advantages and some caveats:
- You can load the same panel more then once in your program: each instance is independent from the others as each panel handle is unique; in some occasions it may be helpful, e.g. if you need to handle several identical equipments connected to your PC and you can load the same control panel for each unit connected maintaining each of them independent
- If the panel handle is wrong, the system does not warn you of this as it does not know of the symbolic names you are using; if you try that SetCtrlVal command with a wrong handle you are trying to manipulate a control on a panel different from the one you intend: supposing actual panel idientified by the handle has control #3 the maximum you can expect is that you receive an error in case you pass e.g. a string to a numeric, but if controls are of the same type you have no errors or warning at all! This is particularly important when addressing controls on pages of a tab control: each page is really a separate panel with its proper handle that you must retrieve with GetPanelhandleFromTabPage command before addressing the controls on it

I am new to Final Cut Express and don't understand why I am unable to drag transitions into Canvas? Something wrong in my setup? It's not the overlays they are "on" so can anyone advise me please, by the way the "L" doesn't appear in the bottom left hand corner either? and by the way how can I get rid of that irritating Blue badge saying "AutoFill your contact details" all mine are in "address book" already!
You can't drag a transition into the canvas. If you're dragginmg a transition from the effects tab you drag it between the edit point of two clips in the timeline.
Make sure show edit overlays is turned on in the Canvas view popup. -
My LR 4 suddenly no longer recognized my memory cards. I am using the same cards and cameras but consisitently get the error message:"files not imported because the files could not be read. they are jpg and nef files...I am stuck without my workhorse! I recently bought a lightning to 30 pin adapter for my new iPad so that I could continue to use my 30 pin to VGA cord, but when I plug the VGA cord into it it says it is not supported. They are all apple products, so why doesn't it work?
If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be. -

Thank you.So you have business contacts that were lost... do you not have these on a Database in some shape or form? Sounds like you need to invest in a RAID1 backup setup for your computer so you dont have this issue in the future.
As for repairing your problem, sounds like you are going to need to start from scratch at this point or if the data is still on your phone look into a program that can take the information from the phone onto iTunes. -

Adobe is doing nothing to your computer. We are, however, giving notice that our Workspaces service (accessible at https://workspaces.acrobat.com) is going to be shut down in a year. If you have files stored in Workspaces, you will need to download them to your computer before 1/6/2015.

Welcome to the Support Communities! When did you purchase your Mac? The first thing I would suggest is to review the information in the resource below for the Up-To-Date Program for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Once Yosemite is installed, you should have the option to Accept the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps in the Mac App Store Purchases pane.

How do I send files from my IMAC via bluetooth to my new Ipad? They will not "pair" but they are connected and discoverable. I send a file from Imac snow leopard OS X 10.6 to the ipadusing bluetooth, but the failure message says the ipad does not have the necessary services. What are these? Do I neeed to have iphoto and ms word to send pix and .doc files?
File Sharing over Bluetooth is not a feature of iOS devices. iOS does not include the required Bluetooth profiles to allow this. You cannot add this feature, so you may as well stop trying.

When I access "Account Info" in Mail (command-i), my gMail POP accounts show zero messages. This doesn't happen with Yahoo POP mail, or with my local ISP's mail. Is this an issue with Mail, or with gMail? And, is there a workaround? Thanks, Dave
