Bookmarks for IE 8

Is there a way that I can export my bookmarks from Safari on my Snow Leopard partition to Internet Explorer 8 on my Windows 7 partition?

EVERY browser has the option to IMPORT and EXPORT bookmarks.
I suggested using flash drive. I recommend disabling (rename) AppleHFS.sys due to bugs in it - even with 3.1.

  • So all the bookmarks I've "bookmarked" for the past year are just gone - I have a mac, how do I go back & retrieve everything I've ever bookmarked on Firefox?

    So all the bookmarks I've "bookmarked" for the past year are just gone - I don't understand why Firefox just doesn't automatically save every bookmark you make each session & put them in a place so you can organize them ... maybe there's some extra step you can take every session to force firefox to do this - I don't know what that is - but am also a bit aggravated that there has to be an extra step to do this - Internet Explorer just auto saves everything you bookmark, why can't Firefox - I see this as a big disadvantage to Firefox that needs to be made much simpler ... I have a mac, how do I go back & retrieve everything I've ever bookmarked on Firefox?
    I think all the details are sufficiently covered in the question (which then in filling out the help form Firefox quite sillily made me shorten so I reposted the whole thing in this comment above - just another unnecessary step, seems to be the Firefox norm)
    And btw the articles on lost bookmarks, saving bookmarks, etc. - were not helpful at all. Very not helpful. Almost anti-helpful.
    I generally like Firefox & use it all the time, but this one area as to bookmarks is very frustrating & causing me to seriously consider not using Firefox at all & switching back to Internet Explorer or another browser like Google Chrome. What's the point of bookmarking something (which by itself indicates you are wanting to save the site link so you can re-find & re-visit it in the future) if Firefox just auto deletes all your bookmarking everytime it starts up? Just a completely user-unfriendly idea.

    A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • I removed the 64 bit version of Firefox and now my bookmarks for the 32 bit version are gone. How do I get them restored?

    Are previous bookmarks for the default stored somewhere on my hard drive?

    See [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer]]. It's not specifically mentioned in the article since most people don't have multiple versions of Firefox installed (such as a released version and a [http://nightly.mozilla.org Nightly version]) but using the uninstall option '''Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations''' removes ALL of your Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] data and settings (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, etc.) . If you did choose that option when you uninstalled your 64-bit version of Firefox, then I'm afraid the profile data is gone.

  • How to create Bookmark for 1 or more tabs in defined bookmarks folder?

    Hi,
    How can I create a bookmark for
    a) the current tab
    b) all tabs in the current safari window
    in an already existing bookmarks folder via Apple Script?
    (Why? I want to define keyboard shortcuts for 3 or 4 different folders
    to quickly sort my bookmarks already when saving them.)
    After launching the script, i'd like to also get a text input box to
    define
    for (a) the name of the bookmark (default value like when hitting cmd-
    D)
    and for (b) the name of the bookmarks folder to create with all the
    tab's bookmarks.
    Is there an easy way to do that?
    Thank you very much,
    Kind regards
    Martin

    Do you mean a Book mark folder inside Safari or a real folder full of .webloc files?
    Beside this, for my own use I wrote an AppleScript that puts the URLs + descriptions + keywords into a simple text-file. Then I wrote a small html-file that pulls this text-file using Javascript and builds up a html-table with live-search like in itunes...
    I placed a bookmark to that lokal html-file in my bookmark-bar and now I can access this bookmark list just by pressing cmd+1 inside Safari (since it is the first Bookmark in the Bookmark-Bar).
    (This local bookmark-site works great with Safari or Firefox, but chrome resists to load the local-textfile... but it would work if the file is online... strange google )

  • Creating a bookmark for a query in web - which tables in this context ?

    Hi Experts,
    when I create a bookmark for a query processed in web , a record in tables RSZWVIEW and RSZWBOOKMARK as well  is generated.
    I'm searching for the link between this tables - i.e. where is the connection between BOOKMARKID of RSZWBOOKMARK
    and VIEWID of RSZWVIEW ?
    Thanks in advance
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
    i don't think there is a link.
    Judging by the timestamp for some of my bookmarks the entry in table RSZWVIEW gets created just before the entry in RSZWBOOKMARK.
    However, I do not see a link between the entries other than that they get created during the same activitiy: Creating a bookmark.
    Best,
    Ralf

  • C-Plus set bookmark for PDF to FO_PgfFmt when FO_PgfFmt is defined in master page

    Using the following across all documents in a book
    pgfId = F_ApiGetNamedObject(docId, FO_PgfFmt, "100_TOC_Header01");
    F_ApiSetInt(docId, pgfId, FP_AcrobatLevel, 1);
    pgfId = F_ApiGetNamedObject(docId, FO_PgfFmt, "010_01_00_Heading01");
                            F_ApiSetInt(docId, pgfId, FP_AcrobatLevel, 2);
    F_ApiSetInt( bookId, docId, FP_DocAcrobatElements, False);
    F_ApiSetInt( bookId, docId, FP_PDFBookmark, True);
    F_ApiSetInt( bookId, docId, FP_PDFBookmarksOpenLevel, FV_PDFBookmarksOpenAllLevels);
    F_ApiSetInt( bookId, docId, FP_PDFRegistrationMarks, FV_PDFRegistrationMarksNone);
    F_ApiSimpleSave(docId, F_ApiGetString(FV_SessionId, docId, FP_Name), False);
    to set bookmarks for PDF when doing a save as PDF on the book.
    This works for all FO_PgfFmt's defined in the document except when the FO_PgfFmt is defined in a master page.
    Is there some setting that is needed to get bookmarks from master page FO_PgfFmt's?
    Or is there some setting that needs to be done on the master page to get the bookmark set?
    Any advice or directions would be helpful.
    Using FrameMaker 7.1 on Windows 7.

    Whoever created the Master Page didn't know what they were doing from a workflow perspective. There should never be live content on a Master page.
    The title is placed in a background frame on what is probably defined as the "First" master page and is only used once in your document. It would have been better if this was a variable (it might be, have you checked?) and then you could get at the content easily.
    Option 1: In order to use FM's internal bookmark generation tools, you will need to get that content onto the Body page and into the same flow (and at the correct location) in order to have it appear at the correct location in the Bookmarks panel of the PDF.
    From a programming point of view you will probably need to do the following.
    1. Get the text string from the background frame on the specific Maser Page in the document
    2. Create a custom colour that will be applied to the Text in order to render it "invisible" on the Body page using FM's Color Views option (set the colour to the Invisible column in the View number for the document). (FM will still know that it is there but will not display nor output that string). You could also have this pre-defined in a template and import the template into all files in the book (including the desired paratag for that paragraph on the Master page).
    3. Insert an an anchored frame (outside of text frame position) at the start of the flow.
    4. Insert a text frame into that anchored frame
    5. Insert the text string from the background text frame
    6. Apply the appropriate paratag that uses the Invisible colour for the text
    7. You can now add the paratag to the bookmark list and generate the PDF.
    Option 2: Create the bookmark code directly using pdfmark commands in a postscript text frame on the Body page. Postscript text frame contents are interpreted by Distiller from the output and do not display.
    1. Get the text string from the background frame in the document
    2. Insert an an anchored frame (outside of text frame position) at the start of the flow.
    3. Insert a postscript text frame into that anchored frame
    4. Insert the bookmark pdfmark code including the text from step 1.
    Sample pdfmark code:
    [/Title (the string from the background text frame here) [options for font, colour and hierarchy] /OUT pdfmark
    The minimum info required is in bold.

  • Bookmarks for a PDF output

    Hi all,
    I have a BI Publisher Layout Template composed by one data table inside two nested Repeating Section: one for month and one for year.
    I want to define a bookmark for each month and each year for PDF output. Is it possible?
    Thanks!

    I tried and i dont think for xpt we can keep bookmarks
    because online report bulider is not that mcuh developed we can use them for charts and graphical reports and simple reports and if we want to handle the page and custom functions. as far as i know only alternative is rtf template.

  • How can I generate PDF bookmarks for change bars?

    I want to generate PDF bookmarks for text that is marked by change bars when I save as PDF from structured Framemaker 7.1. That way the proofreader can go directly to the pages that contain change bars and proof only that text.

    Adding to Arnis' reply:
    It is also possible to generate PDF bookmarks for change bars through FrameMaker-to-Acrobat TimeSavers + Presentation Assistant, as follows:
    Change bar has to use a unique color, with a known RGB value
    A PDF layer is created automatically based on the specified RGB value, containing all change bars (layer can be set as initially hidden and/or as a non-printing one)
    A generic bookmark can be created automatically for each change bar. Since this is not related to the specific text being indicated, the bookmark text has a user-controlled label, optionally autonumbered (eg "Change Bar #1", "Change Bar #2", etc).
    After setting the different parameters above, the process is entirely automatic (results are present as soon as the file is Save as PDF or distilled into a PDF).
    If this approach is of interest, I can set up sample FM + PDF files.
    A different approach -- based on custom markers inserted, with unique text and note attributes -- resulting in Quick-Access Bookmarks, is discussed/demonstrated at http://www.microtype.com/ImprovePDF06.html .

  • Creating "bookmarks" for most used functions?

    Is there a way to create a home page "bookmark" for functions you use a lot, such as turning WiFi On and Off? Or alternatively, does anyone know of an app that would allow you to do that? It would be extremely handy and would save us from having to click multiple times to access common features.
    Thanks!

    Sounds like the Full Screen mode is turned on - hit '''F11''' to turn it off.

    icloud has has exclamation but I don't know how to tell what the error is?  I recently selected bookmarks for syncing.

    TM will show it has done a backup.. Look at the info.. when was the backup completed??
    If you want more details install the widget.
    A1 here.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
    The time capsule though blinks amber and the Airport Utility shows blinking amber light and has a red circle with the number 1 in it.
    There is an error.. probably trivial.. firmware update, default password..
    Open the airport utility and find out what the error is.
    Simply click the TC and see status in the summary page.. it will list all the errors and what you should do.. fix or ignore them. ie this TC has an error.. default password.. I chose to ignore.. when I "fix" the problem the LED goes green.
    Here is additional TC.. it is blinking amber with faults.
    Click the fault. eg default password.
    You can ignore or edit .. if you click edit it will take you to the full setup where you can change the settings.
    I ignored my errors and now it is green..

  • Bookmarks for mp3/aac Audiobooks/Spoken word

    I listen to a lot of books. Audible.com's downloaded books get bookmarks, remembering where you were when you come back to them after listening to something else. These bookmarks are transferred to the Mac on a sync operation. If you rip you own books purchased on a CD, the mp3 or AAC files do not have bookmarks. Any workaround available to be able to get bookmarks for these files?

    in itunes, in "get info" for the audio files in question, tick "Remember Position" (or something along those lines) it'll be under the 'options' tab if you only select one track at a time.
    This is from memory, so if it's not quite correct, it should lead you in the right direction

  • Alternative to Bookmarks for "In Report" Navigation?

    Using SSRS 2008 (R2) and Report Builder 3.0
    We have a lot of reports that currently use bookmarks for internal navigation. They work fine except that our Nav Bar is located in the page header. Because the bookmarks are below the header the header is often not visible when a page opens.
    Is there anyway to force the page to open above the page header? Are there any alternatives to bookmarks that would work?
    Our Nav Bar has to be located in the header so that we can stop it from being exported to individual spreadsheets in Excel.
    Thanks for you help!

    Hi
    Naamkeek,
    According to your description, you hope the page header always visible when scrolling down in the report. In fact, we can’t keep it visible while scrolling in reporting service. As a workaround, we can refer to the following steps:
    Copy the information of page header with ‘Go to Bookmark’ action as header row in a tablix.
    Set header rows visible while scrolling property in the tablix.
    If there are several tablixes in your report, you can set as previously mentioned separately.
    For more information about Keep header rows visible while scrolling, please refer to the following thread:

  • Shortcut for "Add Bookmark For These Tabs..."?

    Is there a way to create a shortcut for "Add Bookmark For These Tabs..."? It would speed up my workflow a lot since I use the option all the time, but there doesn't seem to be a keyboard shortcut for it. How can I create one?

    Hmm, I am trying this, but it doesn't seem to work. Does the text "Add Bookmark For These _ Tabs..." require a wildcard for the number of tabs? For example it might be "Add Bookmark For These 2 Tabs..." or "Add Bookmark For These 3 Tabs..." depending on how many tabs are open.
    This is all rather confusing. It would be nice if one could simply drag the text from the menu instead of typing it out.

  • I added another email address to my computer but firefox did not import the bookmarks for the new email address

    I have firefox as my default browser (formerly it was internet explorer), and I use earthlink total access as my sign-in home page and email. I added my wife's profile to this computer, and during this procedure the bookmarks for her account are imported also. But when we sign in with her access, the home page displays correctly for her earthlink profile but the firefox bookmarks keep coming up with my bookmarks and toolbar instead of hers. I do not understand why firefox is not acknowledging this new profile with the correct bookmarks.

    Thanks for your response. We originally had internet explorer as our browser, I use a laptop and my wife uses a pc. both have windows xp. The Earthlink total access is a software we downloaded years ago which gives a homepage format with email access and some other features. The IE toolbar is shown at the top of the page and has a tab for bookmarks. Whenever we switched computers (both have Earthlink access formats for each of us) the screen would show the proper bookmarks for the given sign-in person.
    Then we changed to Firefox, and it recognized these IE bookmarks, mine on the laptop, and my wife's on the pc. Now I added her sign-in Earthlink setup so she could use the laptop, but the bookmarks on the laptop show my bookmarks and my firefox toolbar. We did not change anything else, and when we had IE this was automatic for whichever of us was signed in to the device via Earthlink account. The bookmark data was already on the laptop for each of us, yet Firefox does not switch it over as IE did. So I wonder why Firefox does not behave as IE did for browser features

  • Stop add new bookmark for web page

    How can i stop firefox asking to add a new bookmark for evony every time i visit?

    I don't know whether there is a connection between the bookmark dialog and the lockup.
    It's strange that you have two versions of Shockwave for Director. Can you disable the older one? Or disable both, if not needed for this site.
    There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player and some Firefox add-ons or settings. You might consider disabling the new protected mode in Flash 11.3, since that feature is currently being debugged. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493 Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
