Bookmarks in an exported pdf do not work

I am writing a teacher guide in support of an activity using iBooks Author. I know that many of the users of this document will not have iPads/Macs, so I also want to export the document as a pdf. Within the document, I have several bookmarks, pointing to other content in my document (i.e. "click here to go to the roster page"). When the file is exported, the links are active in the pdf, but when I click, nothing happens (apart from an "error beep"). If I open the pdf in Adobe Reader, I can see that the linked URL is "ibook:///chapterguid(#########...)", so I suspect that is the issue...the pdf is linking to an iBook site rather than internally to the document. I've tried creating links to text bookmarks, specific pages, and specific sections and all of them fail in the same manner. I suspect the links will work fine within iBooks, but since many of my audience are limited to pdf-only, is there some way I can force the IBA bookmark to do an internal link, rather than an ibook:///... link?
I'm using iBooks Author 2.2 on Yosemite 10.10.2.

I don't have Acrobat, but yes, they work fine in Reader. Thes PDFs are going out to people who have all different computers/OS. So what is the best setting to use from the ID Export dialog? I may have to avoid the long URLs for Preview users. Thanks.

Export pdf does not work

When I convert a PDF to Word it does not work properly. I have to edit so many things to make the Word document close to the original. I may have to request a refund.

work? Why do you sell it then? I need to convert legal documents from pdf

Export PDF is not working

I just purchased and tried using export tool.
First I tried uploading a doc through the web interface - I get a file not found error
then I tried uploading via my pdf tools interface... It appeared to upload and convert the doc but then an error message appeared that said: an error occurred while tryin to access the service.
this is really really frustrating!

Please let me know the exact workflow you are following when you get this error.
Are you trying to convert from within Reader or from Browser? BROWSER
If from Reader then make sure you are signed in within Reader, Also try updating Reader to the latest v11.0.09 and check.
If from browser, please let me know which browser you are using and its version? GOOGEL CHRONE and MOZILA
Have you checked with a different browser if possible?yes

Firefox can't renew it's last tabs and now won't run and let me do a backup

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Bookmark "star" in URL bar is not working

I'm clicking on the "star" to bookmark this page. It is not working and doesnt seem to be doing anything. The star shows it's animation on click, but does not allow me to save a bookmark.

Make sure that you do not double-click the highlighted star.
Just to be sure that you understand how it works:
* Clicking the star in the location bar will bookmark the page in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star turns yellow (blue on Mac) to show that.
* If the URL in the location bar is bookmarked (star at the right end is yellow/blue) then click the highlighted star or use "Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D) to edit the properties of the bookmark (name, location) and move it to another folder or remove the bookmark.
* The "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder shows in the sidebar and the Library, but not in the Bookmarks menu drop down list.
* Bookmarks > "Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D) will bookmark the page in the Bookmarks Menu folder (you need to confirm that).

Firefox 3.x is not one of the documented supported browsers for 11g TP4 (FF 2.0.x and IE 7 are).
I'm assuming by "export to excel," you are talking about an adf faces table?

PDF hyperlinks not working on app

I have pasted a PDF (with working links) on a folio page (folios done in PDF format). The page is uploaded but all links on the original PDF are not working once I view it on the app.
So I'm guessing folios with pasted PDFs on them don't transfer hyperlink properties to the final app? Even thought I've made the folio in PDF format? Does this mean I have to use boxes to create hotspots over the pasted PDF? Is there a way to transfer these properties from the original PDF and skip the hotspot step?

You're right -- the placed PDF loses all its interactivity even when it becomes part of a PDF article. You'll need to add buttons over the PDF as you describe. Also, keep in mind that the Show/Hide Buttons action isn't supported in DPS, so you'll need to use a combination of buttons and MSOs to create hotspots, as described in this article:

Same problem. Am using Firefox 24 (W7x64).
I've tried setting it to use the built-in PDF viewer, to always asking, to using Adobe plugin, to using Nitro plugin.
I changed the pdfjs.disabled in about:config to true but that didn't help.
The plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types was set to

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. Try a bookmark.
If that didn't help, check Safari / Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari.
If Extensions aren't the issue, reset Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
