Bookmarks in "horizontal swipe" articles?

Is it possible for a user to bookmark a particular page in an article if the folio is set to "horizontal swipe only"?  If I bookmark a vertical article arrangment, it goes to the first page.  Is this the same in horizontal arrangements?  Apologies for the simple question, but I don't have an app with horizontal swipe only folios and a bookmark button that I can test it with.  I also use Single Edition licenses, so I can't just quickly create a test app...
Thanks in advance for the help

Anything's possible It won't happen for quite a while though, we have other higher priority items we are working on.

  • Horizontal Swipe to 1st Page of Next Article

    Hi.
    I have two articles in a folio. Both individual articles swipe vertically within the article. When I horizontally swipe from Article One to Article Two, how do set it so that you can only swipe to the 1st page of that article Two (even if I had previously been viewing the 3rd page of Article Two)...   and visa versa?

    You can't. At least not without tweaking the whole Content Viewer's framework, which is only available for Enterprise customers. And even then, I think it would be highly advised not to mess with this carefully growing convention in its user interface. Of course, you can turn each article/page completely into HTML content and script your and your reader's brain out. But as a best practice, you can't and shouldn't. The user needs to retain their sense of 'position' in a publication and each article.

  • Horizontal swipe making some pages appear twice

    I'm having trouble with a biggish app--about 350 mb--a lot of pictures. Each of 4 sections of 12 gallery images is followed by three "features," all separate articles. The Features have a non-interactive first screen, followed by a MSO slideshow, and in some cases, another screen that is a video, or a pan and zoom.
    The problem I'm having is that when set to a horizontal swipe, the first page of the features isn't appearing, but the slideshow is appearing twice! When set to a vertical swipe, it all appears properly and works fine.
    what to do about this??

    Hi Lisa, I had some strange things occur when set to horizontal swipe. Turns out there were bleed issues. If anything, anything is bleeding off the left or right and that goes for fx styles like outer glow then your swipe order gets contaminated and things start appearing where they shouldn't and in my case MSO jumping pages.

  • Horizontal Swipe Only - now with preview in Desktop

    Hi, people
    I believe that in this version 1.7 the desktop preview manage to show articles with horizontal swipe only active.
    Great. but will be that the PDF articles options works too?
    I think that the content preview could be better with support to vector animations

    Hi Felipe,
    There are multiple reasons for choosing HTML articles instead of indd.
    1. size. imagine around 20 pages of this content. the background pattern alone is in html one 4x8px gif repeated from HTMLResources, whereas in indesign it would be a picture of the whole canvas on each page on every 20 pages.
    2. stylesheets. If i feel that the headers need to be in a different font or size, i can change the one stylesheet in my HTMLResources instead of opening 20 indd files.
    3. Speed in desking job. It takes me not even a quarter of the time to insert all the content into the html articles compared to indd. Indesign is a much clunkier and heavier program to use than notepad.
    I could go on, but I guess its no point in this thread..

  • IPhone SDK - Handling horizontal swipes on a UITableView

    I have multiple lists in the app.
    When the user swipes vertically then i just want to let the UITableView do its default thing which is to scroll the list.
    When there is a horizontal swipe then i want to load the next list in the stack (left swipe will load the previous list in the stack and vice-versa).
    I would appreciate ideas on how best to approach this problem.

    The problem with a horizontal swipe in a table view is that is normally reserved for deleting items -- now, not all tables are editable, but still, it's a common gesture and probably not good to overload it.
    One quick solution if you have less than 20 pages in the stack, is to stick a UIPageControl below the table, and use it in it's default mode, which rather than swiping is tapping I believe -- see the docs.
    But, I might also suggest sticking a separate, small (maybe 64px high -- just enough for a finger) view below your table (size the table to not take up the whole screen if it is) -- in that view you can register for touch events to catch the swipes. Also, at the very bottom of that view, you could embed a UIPageControl for visual feedback of where they are.
    You could even dynamically draw (or use images) arrows indicating which direction the user can swipe -- so when on the first view in the stack, you'd only have a right facing arrow -- once they swipe right to left to go to the next stack, draw a right and left arrow.
    Just some ideas.

  • Question about manipulation : How to horizontally swipe on control to do something ?

    <Grid Grid.Row="1" x:Name="ContentRoot" Margin="19,9.5,19,0">
    <ListView x:Name="cc" ManipulationMode="TranslateX" ManipulationDelta="cc_ManipulationDelta" />
    </Grid>
    I want to swipe horizontally to change the ItemsSource of the ListView?, but it only change the first time, then which part of the code need to be changed?
    private void cc_ManipulationDelta(object sender, ManipulationDeltaRoutedEventArgs e)
    this.pageTitle.Text = e.Delta.Translation.X.ToString();
    if (e.Delta.Translation.X > 0)
    this.cc.ItemsSource = list1;
    else if (e.Delta.Translation.X < 0)
    this.cc.ItemsSource = list3;

    Your code works fine for me.

  • Live bookmarks not tagging read articles after update 13.0.1

    After the Update to Firefox version 13.0.1, read articles are no longer tagged with the fav icon of the subscription. This was a very handy feature and it is very frustrating without it.

    Finally 14.0.1! ...and nothing. You are really dropping the ball Firefox people. The problem still remains.

  • DPS question: Is there any way to make certain articles vertical swipe only?

    I have created a dps that is essentially a portfolio. On a certain page, I list clients. and when you tap on those clients it takes you to a different article, that show the work I did for the client. This article is horizontal swipe only. The problem is this: When my first page of my DPS is show, I can horizontal swipe to the first client or "next article in my DPS" . I want to only be able to get to those articles from clicking on the client. Is this possible?

    You could put a full page MSO with nothing but navigation buttons in both state. Set it to swipe. That will keep the page from swiping horizontally.

  • Can't swipe to next article on scrollable frame?

    Hi,
    I'm not sure what's happening here. I've got a page with a scrolling frame which covers the whole page, frame is set to scrolling, scroll direction is vertical only. I've just updated some of the scrollabe content and now when I view on iPad I can't swipe to the next article, the swipe to next article worked fine yesterday, all content and links work OK I just can't get off the page now... any suggestions?

    So Okay,
    Excuse the lame design (only 10 minutes of my lunch break left)
    So I quickly mocked up a 768x1024 doc (Horizontal)
    Made a Scrollable frame 732x952px to sit on the page bleed at the bottom and within left and right margins
    Created 4000px Deep worth of fake content (Grouped and pasted into the scrolling frame)
    Set to vertical scroll only
    Popped a stickly overlay on top and a background image underneath
    All in seperate layers.
    Imported as a PNG article
    and here are the results.
    All images are screen grabs and the last demonstrates that even with a scrolling frame this long - if you import as png you can still horizontally swipe off it
    All's good!

  • Swipe within the article left to right instead of up and down

    I saw National Geographic does articles left to right AND up and down. How does one do that?

    Set the article to horizontal swipe only in its properties. You’ll find a check box for it by selecting it in the folio builder panel.

  • Can articles swipe left and right?

    Is it possible to have articles swipe left and right instead of just up and down? From what I can see at the moment you swipe up and down in an article (multiple pages of course) and swipe left and right to change articles. I am trying to publish a gardening magazine and it has many 2 page images. When swiping and down they flow poorly.

    Set them to horizontal swipe only in the article properties.

  • Horizontal scrolling to next article shows blank page

    I've found a bug when scrolling horizontally between articles it will sometimes add a blank page to the adjacent article. This is remedied by scrolling up (which removes the blank page) but will reappear if I scroll back two articles and then forward two articles again.
    Here are some images showing what I mean.

    I've seen this also.

  • Still cannot find bookmarks, your articles did not solve the problem. Years worth of Bookmarks.Need it fixed! How can I restore All of my old bookmarks?

    I have read accounts of the same problem that I see to have missing years of bookmarks. The forum responses seem to indicate there is not solution to restoring them. Not an acceptable answer. I need to have all of my bookmarks restored since I started using Firefox some years ago. I need an explanation on how to do it. Surely the Firefox team has a solution. Expecting me to just accept there are gone and irretrievable will not work. I await a solution to the problem.

    When did you lose your bookmarks?
    Read this article:
    <br> [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data]]
    After you locate your profile folder, inside there is a '''bookmarkbackups''' folder. Open this folder and see if there are any files here. If you do, move on to the next step below.
    Then read:
    <br> [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer#w_restoring-from-backups]]
    Let me know if you run into problems with this.

  • Preview shows only one page of article

    I have a 23-page portrait-only article for which I can preview only one page.  Normally it is the first page, but if I click on any other page, the preview shows that page -- but the slider on the bottom of Content Viewer shows only the first page regardless of what page is in the preview window.  I'm a newbie at this, and this is my second article; the first one worked just fine.  Put them together in a folio, in either order, and the "normal" one shows all pages, and the other shows only page 1.  Any thoughts?
    Jose

    Silly newbies... I read some of the layout options in Plain English.  Apparently, if the article isn't set to "horizontal swipe only" it's on vertical swipe only, not "optional."  The Aha! moment came from accidentally brushing the mouse so that the preview scrolled upward, revealing the pages hidden below.  Now I get it.
