Bookmarks in pages

I am trying to set up some bookmarks in a pages document, and I have made the boookmarks but they dont appear in the inspector toolbox list of bookmarks when i open it up, so i am then unable to link them to anything. Any assistance on how to get them to appear in there?

I just quickly made three one-page sections. Gave each one a Heading-1 Chapter name. I opened the link inspector to the bookmark tab. In the Pages document, for each successive chapter name, I selected it, then clicked the ‘+’ button to add it into the bookmark list. I now have Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Chapter 3 bookmarks listed there.
Now, I switched link inspector tabs to hyperlink. Selecting the first chapter name, I enabled hyperlink, backspaced the apple link information away, and choose the hyperlink type of bookmark. I pointed it to the Chapter 2 name in the next section. In the second section, I repeated this process and pointed Chapter 2 to Chapter 3. In the third section, I repeated the same process, and aimed it at the first section, using the Chapter 1 bookmark.
Saved it to PDF. In Preview, I can click on the chapter names and the bookmark linking works as expected, allowing me to hop between the respective sectional chapter headings.
Here you will see the list of Chapter bookmarks, the hyperlink pointing Chapter 2 at Chapter 3, and the Chapter 2 from the Pages document.

  • On my mac it doesn't let me bookmark some sites when i drag the icon over or click on bookmark this page. Is there a fix for this?

When i drag a URL over to my bookmarks or click on bookmark this page (on a Mac BTW) it doesn't let me do it. Not even with the star. Like when i try to bookmark some cell phone forums and gamefaq boards it says "website did not supply identity information" and it doesn't even let me bookmark that page unless i go to a different part of the site. Is there any type of fix for this???

    Hi punisherbv,
Are you using the beta? it's not fully secure, so try using Firefox 3 instead. If you are already using Firefox 3, it seems like what Firefox is saying is correct- the site is not supplying identity information. So what you could do is go to that exact site, then click on the little golden lock at the very corner of the page. Then, enter the 'permissions' tab and allow everything. Exit, and then try bookmarking the page!

  • How can I collapse all my sub-folders when bookmarking a page?

In Safari when I go to bookmark a page all my sub-folders and their own sub-folders are shown,
Is there a way to collapse them all into just the main folders and then being able to choose the correct sub-folder from them to bookmark the page.
I have about 50 main folders but a few hundred sub-folders so when I go to bookmark a page it's very time consuming and annoying.
In Firefox just the main folders are shown, so I just choose the main folder and expand that and choose the appropriate sub-folder, Job done in seconds!
    Many thanks in advance [ I hope! :-) ]

    None that I know about.

  • How can I bookmark a page without using the stupid star?

I have used Firefox since the days of Netscape. Now what used to be easy now becomes more like M$ products. I want to get rid of that stupid star that makes things more confusing by placing bookmarks in a generic 'Unsorted Bookmarks' folder that requires further attention to sort my bookmarks when before I did it all at the time that I created the bookmark with 'bookmark this page'. I understand that clicking on the blue star again will bring up the bookmark properties, this is just an inconvenience, adding time wasted. I would like my bookmarks to be like they were in the previous version of Firefox.

  • How do I change back to having "bookmark this page" on the top of the list and subordinate "all bookmarks" lower since I use former 100 times more than the later on a daily basis?

I create about 25 -50 new bookmarks daily for my business. So, it would seem user friendly to put that command at the top of the scroll down list. Maybe I am unique and others want to "show all bookmarks" repeatedly. I can't understand why one would need to do that more often than add multiple bookmarks on a daily basis. i look forward to your response,. Respectfully MC

cor-el, as you said, that solution puts the "show all bookmarks" all the way at the bottom. How do you either make "bookmark this page" first without changing the order of the other options or force "show all bookmarks" to be second instead of last, the way the menu was before?

  • When I bookmark a page, the wonderfully imported folders and bookmarks I see when I clik bookmarks do not appear in any of the 3 optional dropdowns?

I really want to help you make Mozilla the best of them all, so here goes: When I want to bookmark a page, those wonderfully imported IE favorites I see in the dropdown when I clik Bookmarks...do no appear? Now...at the bottom of the bookmarks dropdown with those IE favorites is one folder called "from internet explorer"...it is the favorites as I imported them...and at first, I did get the folders of my new Bookmarks...which used to be favorites. It is so hard to explain...yet I really liked everything about your Mozilla OpenSource product enough to say, just give me a quick ring...or a way to do it via chat at any certain time or whatever. My droid is 410-279-6886 My "Edress" is: [email protected] A lot of us in the White House Press Corps have this issue/problem, and so I suppose alot of others do too...and I want to help as I see them all going back to IE...and I believe in you folks. Building a better rocket ship is very difficult...yet I want the good guys/gals to win - & that would be you! So...ring me if it's something that is not some simple fix...like me being a normal dorkey clueless computer user which you can do with a quick email. I will give as much time as needed...to help you.

  • I no longer get a dialog box when bookmarking a page. I am unable to title and save the bookmark in the folder of my choice. Where has the dialog box gone please.

Whenever I have bookmarked a page, I got a dialog box where I could give the bookmark a title and choose the folder to save it in. Now when I click 'Bookmark this page, no box appears. The page is still saved in bookmarks but then I have to go into Organize bookmarks to put it where I want it. This is time I have not had to spend doing so in the past. I would like to know what has happened to the dialog box, why has it stopped appearing as normal? I really would like it back.

It was Mcafee SiteAdvisor 3.3 of all things that caused the problem. Can anyone suggest a better/equivalent type of extension I could use?
    Thanks,

  • The bookmarks in my drop-down menu do not appear when I try to "organize bookmarks". When I try to bookmark a page, the folders in the drop-down menu do not appear as choices.

The trouble started when I transferred applications from my old computer. When I click "bookmarks", all my bookmarks are there. When I try to "Organize Bookmarks", it acts like I have no bookmarks. When I try to "Bookmark this page", it does not show all the folders that are in the drop-down menu. There are a number of bookmark files in the appdata\mozilla\firefox\profiles area, none of which are complete. I tried a backup and restore in the organize menu and a backup was created, but I don't know what was backed up. I suspect nothing was backed up. When I clicked a restore, nothing happened.

I'm not familiar with Windows 7, but... is it possible there is a permissions problem with your profile folder, or read-only set on any database files?

  • When bookmarking a page, I can't get the complete list of bookmark folders to dropdown in order to select any folder in which to bookmark page. What do you set to get whole list of folders in Bookmarks to drop down?

When bookmarking a page, I can't get the complete list of bookmark folders to drop down in order to select any folder in which to bookmark page. The 'Folder:' bar has 'Bookmarks Menu' showing. The arrow on the bar drops down 5 recent folders to which pages have been saved, but the pop down arrow to the right of the bar just opens to show the three categories and 'New Folder' button. What do you set to get whole list of folders in Bookmarks to drop down?

To all, embarrassingly enough, I have discovered that I didn't know how to expand the three categories including 'Bookmarks Menu' in the 'Bookmark This Page' pop up interface. It was expanded by default on the initial Firefox opening and first page bookmark attempt. Next use it only showed categories. I clicked and double clicked the 'Bookmarks Menu' line, but failed to see the small, shaded triangle used to expand/collapse list. If it appears collapsed, just tap triangle at left of line to see all folders. It seems to open the same way after I do it for first time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for all the attempts to help.

  • Bookmark a page with username/password in the URL

I can add username/password for HTTP authentication directly to the URL (e.g. http://user:[email protected]/ ) and this works fine with the browser on Firefox OS 1.3 (on a ZTE Open C). However, when bookmarking that page, the bookmark doesn't include the username/password any more and so I'll have to manually enter the username/password when visiting that site again (after clearing private data) - and unfortunately there is no password manager for Firefox OS yet...
Another way to add a bookmark appears to be via a small Javascript using the "save-bookmark", however that appears to only give me the option to add the bookmark to the Home Screen (and I am not sure if it will keep the username/password information in the bookmarked URL).
Is there any other way to add a bookmark to the browser and keep the username/password information in the URL?

    Here is an example:
    http://user1:[email protected]/auth-basic/
Works fine if you enter that URL in the URL bar. But when bookmarking it, it only gets bookmarked as http://test.webdav.org/auth-basic/ and so you will have to enter username and password again (after clearing cookies and session data) when opening from bookmarks.

  • How can I make a button in Muse that bookmarks the page the user is on?

I want visitors to be able to push a button that bookmarks the specific page in their web browser. Is this possible in Muse? Or do I have to use third-party code?

    Hi
As pnoypie has suggested , you can use html for this.
You can directly insert the html which would create a link to bookmark on page or insert the html inside button widget and define states.
    Here is an example :

  • When I try to bookmark a page not all the folders iun my bookmark menu appear.

I have 18 folders in my bookmark drop down window. When I try to save a page only some of the folders appear in the list of folders to save the page in. The folders that do appear are not in any sequence. Some are recently used some are not. I tried sorting by name but that does not change what shows up when I try to bookmark a page. The folders that appear are not in the order of my recent bookmarking activities.

That is not the case. I'm familiar with the arrows but the most I can get to display are six folders. The arrow to the right of Bookmarks Menu brings up the seven folders. The down arrow in the buttons allows me to make a new folder but do not show any existing folders. I think I'll try downloading Firefox again to see if there is a bug in what I've got installed.

  • How do I restore links to bookmarks in Pages documents in OS X 10.9?

When using Mountain Lion I created numerous links between Pages documents and to bookmarks within Pages documents. After converting to Mavericks none of those links works and I cannot find a way of restoring those links. Suggestions?

After trying a variety of approaches, I was virtually certain that the feature had been eliminated (as you knew). I was dismayed that the Pages 4.3 bookmarks and links didn't work in Pages 5.0 since I had created hundreds of business documents using those features.
On the advice of Alexander Wolff and the local Apple store, I've restored Pages 4.3 and retrieved the documents I had converted to Pages 5.0 from my Time Machine.
Per your suggestion, I'm leaving feedback for the Pages team.
Thanks for the information and advice.

  • Bookmarks in Pages v.5

Bookmarking in Pages V.5 was dropped to accommodate mobile applications,  but bookmarks are a major part of my work.  I do a lot of indexing so I have ignored updating to Pages V.5 and stayed with V.4.3.  My question is:  Are there any plans to restore bookmarking to V.5?  Or perhaps the release of a REAL pro word processor instead of a toy for mobile users?

This is not Apple, just fellow users.
Use your own common sense as to where Apple is headed. To looks like to iOS and everything iOS flavored.
Apple hasn't done anything bar correct a very short list from the over 110 features it stripped out of Pages '09.
They haven't even said they are going to do anything more.
Keep using Pages '09 which still works as it always has and keep your eyes peeled for something else, not from Apple.

  • Creating APEX bookmarks to pages

    Hello,
I have an APEX application with many forms, so I'm trying to create a "bookmark this page" function for my users..something that inserts the pageID into a "favorites" table, along with the appuserID, that sort-of thing.
I've got a prototype working by putting a button on a page that says "Bookmark this page," but I don't want to have to repeat that on every page. I've been scanning Google and this forum for advice on how to do this, but haven't found how to set this up - I was thinking perhaps I could add an item to the standard NavBar labeled "bookmark" which could call a JavaScript and insert pageID:appuser into my favorites table, but haven't worked this out.
    Any ideas?

Hi and thanks for the reply.
I'm a bit familiar with Page0. I figured placing an item on that page to create a bookmark (of the current "real" page the user is viewing) would probably end up creating bookmarks to Page0, but I'll do some testing. I've had trouble creating items on Page0 before because of their special status, but I do already use Page0 in my app for some generic stuff (Welcome User || Logout, etc).
I am not familar with the on-demand application process, so I'll do some reading on that. My thought on the NavBar was to link to "location" as an URL, and the URL would really be a JavaScript stored in APEX and JavaScript would somehow get the user's current page (I'm looking throught the flows_0x0000.tables to see if any thing can be gleaned from that as well).
Hate to reinvent the wheel though if someone's already created this sort-of "bookmark" / "favorite places" component.
