Bookmarks keep appearing in autocomplete

I have tried going to "Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> When using the location bar, suggest: "
If this option is set to "History and bookmarks" bookmarks will show up as the first suggestion with a star next to them. If this option is set to "History" bookmarks STILL show up, only without a star. I have confirmed that the site in question is not in my history. I have even tried visiting one of the bookmarked sites to put it in my history, then clicking "Forget about this site" in the history so I'm absolutely sure it's NOT in my history anywhere. Even after that it still always shows up as the very first result, even though Firefox is configured to only use the history in autocomplete (which is the history it's not in). Selecting the autocomplete suggestion and pressing delete does get rid of it until I try typing it again, after which it's back where it was. Any suggestions?

This problem persists for FireFox 3.6.6. Apparently some of my old bookmarks have permanently taken residence in the autocomplete list and I can't get rid of them.
Any help (even a pointer to where FireFox keeps this information) would be greatly appreciated.

Despite clearing my history and cookies etc (using CCleaner) whenever I use firefox and start typing in a url in the address bar one particular website keeps appearing (by autocomplete).

Why do my bookmarks keep changing to the default every time I close Safari and why does my history keep clearing?
I want to save my bookmarks for my favorite pages but every time I close Safari the default ones (Apple, iCloud, Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, Yahoo, News and Popular) re appear.
Basicaly I want Google instead of Twitter and Yahoo and I also don't want it to keep clearing my history.

Step one is to log into a newly created admin user account and see if the problem persists.

Blank bookmarks keep showing up

I keep getting these annoying blank bookmarks. Sometimes they make extra pages on my phone. When I click them, they take me to Safari where nothing shows up. How can I make these blank bookmarks stop appearing?

Do you have Sync Bookmarks selected under the info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, are these blank bookmarks also available with the browser on your computer you are syncing bookmarks with?

I can't use my Ipad because a pop up is asking me for my Apple ID password but when I write it and press Ok the pop up message keeps appearing! It doesn't let me do anything on my Ipad. I also have an Iphone and it is not doing this.

Same problem for me.
1. Cannot connect to wifi as icloud password pop up keeps appearing.
2. tried deleting account. UNable to do so.
3. tried resetting password by logging into apple id through desktop as mentioned in one of the responses in another thread. Unfortunately the apple id to be reset is the same as being prompted by icloud and hence unable to reset the same.
Feel like breaking the **** ipad into bits. Stupid of apple to let such a bug in and not offer support !!

Library files keep appearing on the Desktop!!!!

For some weird reason the iTunes Library (Damaged),iTunes Library (Damaged) Extras, itunes music & Album Artwork keeps appearing in my desktop :/ I deleted them but whenever I open itunes they appear again!! I went to preference >> advance and chose the original path for the folders and still it doesn't change.. (User>Music>itunes>itunes music)
I re-install itunes and nothing change, please I need help I'm desperate..
another Q why it's titled "iTunes Library (Damaged)" and how can I fix it?!

Double check to see that the ‘iTunes Library.itl’ file or the folder it resides in (the ‘iTunes’ folder) is not read-only.
First, see this Article for some background information: What are the iTunes Library files?
Using Windows Explorer, right-click on the file (or folder) name, go to Properties.
If it is read-only, then close iTunes, change it, and reopen iTunes.
Now (going forwards), any changes you make to the Library should be retained (i.e. – rebuilding).
For Vista users, How to Take Ownership and Grant Permissions in Windows Vista may offer some help. Give yourself ownership and full control of the main iTunes folder and all its subfolders.
If you are running a Sony Vaio PC, then This Thread may offer some insight.

I have a Windows 7 Computer. When I go into itunes store, it comes up, and I can navigate in it, but a box keeps appearing saying accessing itunes store. I then get a session timed out, so can't purchase anything.

It goes on and off. I am able to navigate when the box is not showing. If I try to download music, I get to the point where I need to agree to the agreement contract, then says "Session Timed Out." I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update. Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store". reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes. (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days). I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.

I have been organizing my bookmarks into folders. There are a bunch of bookmarks that appear on the Bookmarks Menu that do not appear when I used the Organize Bookmarks option. Therefore I can't organize them. How do I get at them and move them to folders

I used Organize Bookmarks to put some bookmarks in folders. When I had done all the bookmarks that appeared outside of folders in the Organize Bookmarks window, I closed it and looked at my bookmarks menu. Under my folders were some other bookmarks that I hadn't seen in Organize Bookmarks and when I used it again, they still weren't visible. Therefore, I couldn't move them into folders.

Update - I discovered that the entire list of bookmarks can be accessed in the Organize Bookmarks window by clicking on the icon for Bookmarks Menu.
This seem like odd interface behaviour to me.
All the other software I use follows the pattern that an icon with a triangle to the left, which you click on to expand the menu tree downwards, shows the entire contents of the category when you click on the triangle. In other words, you don't get a different response by clicking on the icon from what you get by clicking on the triangle.
It also seems odd to me that when an unsorted bookmarks folder is automatically provided that unsorted bookmarks would not be placed there by default.
Anyway, by getting the list of bookmarks displayed this way I was able to simply right-click on items in the list and delete them, as I thought I should be able to do. Problem solved. Organize Bookmarks interface found to be somewhat unintuitive.

Apple login keeps appearing on my iphone

I currently have an iphone 4S running IOS 6.1.3 software and to my annoyance I keep having the Apple ID login box appearing on my phone asking for my password. Even though I put in my password it will re-appear shortly after asking for my password again. I am now being too loose my patience!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I really need help,
I was updating an application on my iPod when suddenly it shut down because the battery was too low.
Then I tried to turn it on again but these apple screen and spinning wheel screen keep appearing until now.
I've tried pressing and holding the home & sleep/wake button at the same time several times, and mostly it didn't work.

First, charge the battery thouroughly.
Then, if you're still having a problem, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Photos keep appearing the wrong way round in slideshow!

Photos which I imported from my old macbook (running 10.4) onto my new imac (10.5.8) keep appearing the wrong way round or stretched out when I play them as part of a slideshow even though in the library they appear fine. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?

Yes the plist file is important, but next time you start iPhoto it will create a brand new one.
This file records various user settings - like the background colour, for instance. If you trash it then when iPhoto re-creates it it simply returns things to the factory default settings.
Trashing the plist file is troubleshooting 101.
Also don't understand what you mean by "If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again"
By default, your iPhoto Library lives in your Pictures Folder. That's where iPhoto looks for it. If you've moved the Library - and I'm guessing you haven't - then you need to tell iphoto where you moved it to. Why? Because that's a setting recorded in the plist file.
