Bookmarks lost after crash!

My firefox on my android phone crashed which seems to caused all my bookmarks to gone missing!
Is there something i can do to maybe recover them?
This happened on Firefox BETA. (in case this is relevant or important information.)
edit: my browsing history is gone too. strange. it looks like it resetted everything after the crash?

    hi,
    while running software update, my computer crashed and i seem to have lost java.
    i've dowloaded a number of jse releases.
    most of them didn't work, one did:
    java15release1
    however, when trying to install:
    j2se50 release 1-5, i got the alert
    "unable to locate java on this volume" (yes it's the right volume)
    i got these errors before and after the succesfull install.
    i tried renstalling that one, but it doesn't help.
    java is unrecognized in terminal, max-msp (a music app) and the sun's test site crashed firefox.
    so, would be nice if anyone could help, i tried some things i found by searching, but they came down to what i had tried already.
    pity, was just about to take on java programming...
    btw i have the developers tools installed if that might matter.

  • All plugin validations lost after crash 7.2.1 pro

    The topic says it all.
    Logic 7.2.1. crashes a lot and today for the second time all my plugin validations got lost and logic wants to scan them ALL again (520!!). This takes a lot of time since the au validator crashes all over the place and I have to press a button lots of times.
    I used to have this problem before, back in version 7.0 or something. Back then I could backup a file called au.validation.plist. But today that file does not exist anymore. Does anyone know in which FILE the validations are stored?

    I'm not sure what the TimeBarControl is (not a developer...) but my best guess is that it's the widget that the scrub bar in the Timeline and the Monitors is built on. As for what could be causing the crash, I'd only be guessing. A few things I'd try to isolate:
    Whether the crash is limited to certain sequences, or possibly just one.
    Whether it's tied to certain content: a single clip,  a multicam or nested sequence, ...
    Given the TimeBarControl  and SetVisibleTimebase refs, whether it's associated either with the way you have things set up for one or more of the scrub bars (zoom level, timecode display mode, Show Audio Time Units...) or with the actual timebase of the content or the sequence (unusual frame rate, use of Interpret Footage to specify the frame rate of content).

    After I refreshed my PC, because it had a virus that I couldn't take away, it also deleted firefox. Firefox has been deleted before but all my bookmarks had always been saved either way. I go to my profile and none of the bookmarks are there, but I really need them. Is there any way I can get them back?

    [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]] will show you where the profile is located, however if the places.sqlite file is not there, I am sorry the bookmarks may no longer be there if you do not have a back up.

  • Previous session lost after crash :(

    Firefox crashed and now my previous session is greyed out/not available. I have my profiles folder open, but not sure if I save the sessions files in time. Might have been replaced with the newest session already. Can I use any of the files in the sessionstore-backups folder to find a backup point, and how?

    The kinds of files you may find among your sessionstore-backups files are:
    * recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your currently live Firefox session (or, if Firefox is closed, your last session)
    * recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
    * previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last Firefox session
    * upgrade.js-''build_id'': the windows and tabs in the Firefox session that was live at the time of your last update
    ''Please copy them all to a safe location so Firefox doesn't replace or cull them.''
    Could you take a look at what you have and the date/time of the various files to see whether you think any of them would have the missing tabs?

  • Project lost after crashed

    I had been working for hours on a project that include several video clips (already trimmed), and when I was adding some titles it just crashed. When I reopened the whole project was gone. I can't even find the video files that I imported from my SOny AVCHD camera. I need help please!!!!!!!!!

    You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)
    *Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser

    Import & Backup is the third button on the toolbar in the Library that looks like a star.
    You should be able to export the bookmarks via that button.

    This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

    It seems that you file has become corrupted.
    One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way.

    I was scared when using Sync if all bookmarks will be lost if it will not work sync. Now it finally came to this issue as I have main PC with bookmarks and while Sync was started ALL bookmarks vanished. I think this is not stable and you have changed something on server. These data are years of work and please help me how to bring back from last day ALL bookmarks.

    Firefox sync is intended to synchronise between computers, you may therefore have good bookmarks on another machine, is that the case ?
    Firefox also tries to backup bookmarks and keep spare restore sets, but''' take great care''' with these as they overwrite whatever you currently have, always make manual backups and keep them somewhere safe, eg the Windows desktop, outside Firefox program and profile paths.
    I suggest you backup whatever bookmarks you have now on all machines '''immediately''', (each day you delay may loose a snapshot copy) and then again after each of any restore attempts. It is a good practice in any event to regularly back up bookmarks manually, they are after all as you say often years of work.

    You are using Firefox 4 per the system info aside, that is not supported, it would be better to use Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 8

  • Profile in use, can't be accessed, FF only worked when I created a new profile, are bookmarks lost?

    My computer crashed, when I restarted it and restarted FF (6.0.12.1739, with google, adobe and similar plugins), I got the "already running" message.
    I use Windows 7.
    When I learned to look for the parent lock file, not only was it not there, but my original profile folder to be empty.
    So I created another profile folder, and now FF works, but I cannot access my old profile folder.
    When I open the location where it should be, nothing's there. But if I go to profile manager, I see my original profile '' is'' still there (and apparently it's where it should be). I tried typing its location in Start, to no avail.
    '''I tried making all folders visible,''' as some sites recommend for people who use Windows, but this did not make my old profile folder visible.
    Are my bookmarks lost for good?
    I have restarted the computer several times 'til now.

    I forgot to mention that I can't access my old profile, because whenever I click on it, I continue to get the "already running" message. I know that I exit FF when I access profile manager.

  • Recover Non Saved Pages Files after Crash?

    Just went through the horrendous experience of loosing many hours of work in Pages when my machine unexpectedly crashed. No I did not save. I am stupid, but how hard is it to design a program to auto save and recover after crash? Microsoft seems to have figured that out.
    I have downloaded a 3rd party program to do it, but it is the end of using Pages for me. I really enjoyed the layout capabilities, but the omission of a file recovery feature moves this down to a 3rd tier application that looks good but does not meet the fundamental needs of users.
    I am sure the work is lost forever but if there is a solution I am missing let me know.

    The point is that software can do so much for us today, spell check, grammar check, automatic date, create PDF's etc... but it cannot accommodate recover after crash?
    From my perspective my only mistake was using Pages in the first place. For that I can blame myself.

  • Bookmarks lost with new version. Reset to default. Located old bookmarks but will not open-needs program.

    I automatically updated to the newest Firefox version. My bookmarks were lost. I had two profiles. I tried to return to the Old? profile. I then reset the profile to default. I searched for my old bookmarks and found the bookmarks, but when I clicked on a previous date, the program asked which program would I use to open? I tried MsWord but it wouldn't open. I forgot how I found the old bookmarks.
    Please tell me 1. How to find the old Bookmarks
    2. How to download them.
    3. Can I download the bookmarks from a saved data file from my mirror backups.
    4. Can I save the bookmarks in a data file in case this occurs again?
    5. Did Resetting to default erase the bookmarks?

    To address some of your other questions:
    Firefox's Reset feature is designed to retain your bookmarks. However, if your disk is very full or your bookmark backups were empty or unreadable, the Reset may leave you with no bookmarks.
    After a Reset, your previously active profile folder is moved to your desktop and placed in a folder named Old Firefox Data. Please check in there for a folder named bookmarkbackups.
    If you also had an inactive profile folder, to check in there, you can paste this in the Start menu search box and press Enter:
    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
    Hopefully your missing bookmarks are in one of those two places.
    Please do not delete any old profile data until you are sure you've recovered everything you need.
