Bookmarks no longer show under Bookmarks menu

While I was using Safari I lost my bookmarks via clicking the bookmarks menu item. They're still there by clicking the open book in the toolbar. CCC was running at the time.
How do I get bookmarks back under the menu?
Geoff

I am having problems with this same thing. I go to add bookmark and it does not show up under the bookmark menu (ie. I saved a bookmark to my son's high school, under the kids menu option). It doesn't show up to be able to be selected. When I go to show all bookmarks it's there.
Why is this happening? My hard drive just died, I had a new one installed with new system folder (but I am still running 10.4... I like being able to access classic) I've done the updates for Safari and am now running 4.0.4.
Any suggestions on how to get my bookmarks to appear again would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!

• AT&T U-verse WiFi doesn't stay connected ATV no longer shows Netflix on menu

I just got the AppleTV 2 last week and expected it to jump onto my wifi connection as easily as the Roku does, but so far no luck.
First, even though it saw my wireless network immediately, it wouldn't accept my password. i know it is the correct password as i have several other devices connected. I gave up, came back to it the next day and it was connected to the wifi and showing complete menus. i had done nothing. i was able to connect with "Remote" on the Ipad as well as watch one show on Netflix. Then it indicated that an update was available for my apple tv. it started to update then shut down. I turned it back on and Netflix was not even a menu item under Internet any more. I restarted my router and the ATV and then it couldn't find the wifi again.
That's where I am with it now. Is this Apple? U-verse? Netflix? Can an apple store test the device to see if it is a hardware issue?

I have a similar problem. My Wifi connection to the Apple TV now gets lost daily, even when "sleep"is set to "never". On reconnecting to my network in the settings menu I no longer get "Netflix" in the Internet menu and no menus at all for "Movies" or "TV Shows". A Reset seems to fix it for an evening but the login to the wifi and reauthorizing Netflix every time I Reset makes my Apple TV nearly useless. The Apple TV was new 12/10. I'm on Comcast. Belkin router was new 7/09. I'm using a new 27inch iMac running Lion. (I had not used the Apple TV much until very recently so I don't know how well it worked originally.)

• Podcasts not showing under Podcast menu, but under Podcast Genre

I am subscribed to several podcasts through iTunes. On my 40GB 4G, all the podcasts show up under the main menu option "Podcasts". But on my Nano, only one of the 9 podcasts I subscribe to shows up there, I have to go into Music -> Genres -> Podcasts to get to the rest.
Any ideas?

Connect the iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Click the podcasts tab under that. Make sure it is set to automatically update all podcasts (onto the iPod). Click OK.

• Adobe Photoshop CS6 64bit version no longer shows under program

A few days ago I somehow acquired a virus on my windows 7 laptop. With virus protection software I was able to quickly identify it and delete it from my system. After I deleted the virus I noticed that my Photoshop CS6 64bit shorcut disappeared from my desktop. I even went into my computer > programs and it does not even show up there. Photoshop CS6 32bit is still there and works fine.
I was wondering should I re-install CS6 on my compter and if I do that should I de-activate my current version before I re-install?
Thanks so much for your help.

You can re-install the 64-bit version. Personally, I prefer to wipe a virus infected system clean and start over.

• Folders created in bookmarks no longer show up when I right a webpage to save.

folders that where made with right click crate new folder no longer show in that particular menu. they appear under book marks at the top of the page but no longer appear when I right click a web page and wish to save to a folder specifically created for this type of subject, they are no appearing there anymore. I havent added and toolbars or extensions the folders are just not there. I am using win7 home premium and ff 3.6.17

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

• "organize bookmarks" is no longer in my bookmarks menu and the drop down bar for my bookmarks toolbar has disappeared

I can not longer delete bookmarks from the bookmark file since "organize bookmarks" is no longer an option in Firefox 4. Also the bookmarks that didn't fit in my bookmark tool bar used to be accessible to the far right of the toolbar in a drop down menu. Now I have "bookmarks" in my bookmark menu taking up space instead of a drop down arrow with just my selected bookmarks that didn't fit in the toolbar.

"Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu.
The Bookmarks button is for accessing the bookmarks that are not in the bookmarks toolbar. You can hide this button, if you do that, to access other bookmarks you can click the orange Firefox button then select Bookmarks.
To remove the bookmarks button, right-click on the Navigation toolbar and select Customize. This will open the customize toolbar window. Drag and drop the bookmarks button which will now be on the right hand edge of the navigation toolbar and drop it onto the customize toolbar window. Click Done to complete the process.

• "Organize Bookmarks" does not appear under Bookmarks menu, even though Help advises to go there.

I've needed to eliminate Bookmarks. Because I have no "Organize Bookmarks" or "Manage Bookmarks" option under the Bookmarks menu, I've tried dragging bookmarks off the list onto my desktop. I've tried right-clicking to get a "delete" option (but there is none). I've gone to "Help" where I'm advised to click on the Bookmarks menu item, select "Organize Bookmarks," and proceed from there. An image of the items in "Organize Bookmarks" appears in this "Help" instruction. BUT -- "Organize Bookmarks" does not appear when I click the Bookmarks menu item.

That menu item was changed to '''Show All Bookmarks''' in Firefox 4.0.

• When I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site and click "Choose", none of my current folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu.

Running 3.6.12 on Windows XP in my brand-new HP 6000 Pro, and when I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site, 5 of my 80-odd folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu. But then, when I click "Choose", no list of current bookmarks appears, so I have to bookmark every time under "Unsorted", then drag each bookmark to its correct folder. What am I doing wrong? I use Firefox on my other 2 systems, and every folder appears on the drop-down, just like it should.

I don't use Xmarks, so I don't know whether that is a factor here...
If you use Ctrl+d on a bookmarked page, does the Edit Bookmark dialog appear?
Firefox doesn't have a convenient way to determine the location of a bookmark. One workaround is to use the extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-parent-folder/ Show Parent Folder] to add a column in the Library dialog showing the location of a bookmark. Then when you use the search function or Recently Bookmarked query, you should be able to discover the location.
The extension shows just the folder name by default. If that isn't unique enough, you can change a setting for the extension so it shows the full path down to that folder. To set this, open the Add-ons page, Extensions category, and use the Options button for Show Parent Folder.

• After upgrading to Firefox 8 there are no bookmarks in the sidebar when it is displayed. The bookmarks are there under the Bookmarks menu. History appears in the sidebar

There are no bookmarks in the bookmarks sidebar. The only way I can access my bookmarks is by clicking on the Bookmarks Menu. All booksmarks and folder then show up in the drop down menu - but when I go to organise them, there is nothing listed under Organise. My history will show up in the sidebar. I can't find a way to sort my bookmarks, and don't know if I can save a new bookmark.

Open or close History Sidebar --> CTRL+H
Open or close Bookmarks Sidebar --> CTRL+B
Click the small "x" to the right of the word History or Bookmarks in the Sidebar will close that sidebar
If the History Sidebar is open, CTRL+B will close it and open the Bookmarks Sidebar
If the Bookmarks Sidebar is open, CTRL+H will close it and open the History Sidebar

• I have two sets of bookmarks, one under "Bookmarks Toolbar" and one under "Bookmarjs Menu," and they are not totally similar. What's going on?

I use Bookmarks toolbar. When I want to save a site, the browser asks which folder to place it in; however I have two somewhat different sets of bookmarks that Firefox stores, and I'm never sure which set is the one being saved to. I have only one profile, checked that. Firefox 4.0 is an upgrade from 3.6.16.

* The Bookmarks Toolbar folder stores the bookmarks that you see on the (View > Toolbars >) Bookmarks Toolbar.
* The Bookmarks Menu folder stores bookmarks that you see in the Bookmarks menu and create via "Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page" or "Bookmark This Link" in the right click context menu.
* The Unsorted Bookmarks folder stores that bookmarks that are created by clicking the star at the right end of the location bar.
Clicking the star in the location bar will bookmark the page in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star turns yellow (blue on Mac) to show that.
Bookmarks > "Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D or use Alt+B) will bookmark the page in the Bookmarks Menu folder (you need to confirm that).

• I have two versions of my bookmarks under the bookmarks menu

I have 2 versions of my bookmarks in the bookmarks window - one after the other, but I can only access the first one in "show all bookmarks" Unfortunately, the second one is the one that is being updated when I save new sites. How can I get rid of the first version that shows up when I try to access bookmarks from the bookmarks menu?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

• My bookmarks no longer show up in a column when I sign on. (Firefox 5, Vista)

I no longer have a bookmarks column (at the left) when I sign on. Instead, I get a full page of whatever site I bring up. I have tried bringing the column back by using the Firefox button at top left, but there seems to be no way to bring back the bookmarks column. I have Firefox 5 and use Vista.

*You can open the Bookmarks in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > Bookmarks (Ctrl+B)
*You can open the History in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > History (Ctrl+H)
Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and the history (clock) in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.
Firefox 4 versions and later have two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

• My bookmarks folder appears in the Bookmarks menu, but bookmarks do not appear when clicking "Show All Bookmarks." Bookmark Manager appears, but shows no bookmarks at all.

When opening the Bookmarks menu, I see my bookmarks folder in the dropdown and can access them from there. However, if I click "Show All Bookmarks" the manager launches, but shows no bookmarks of any kind. No defaults, folders, uncategorized links...nothing.
As such, I can still use the bookmarks while surfing, but I can't organize, delete, or export them since they don't show up in the bookmark manager.

This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

• What happened to "bookmark this page" selection in the "show your bookmarks" menu on the right?

Now I have to:
1) click again on the stupid blue star to get the menu to place my new bookmark where I choose to instead of have it go to unsorted bookmarks...
OR
2) bring up or have up the menu bar and click on the "bookmarks" menu choice of "bookmark this page" which brings up what I'd call the choice or sort menu that lets me access my bookmarks menu...
...where I wanted to go to create a bookmark AND I get to select "choose", which is what I used to do when adding ANY bookmark.
I want the "bookmark this page" selection back on the "show your bookmarks" list on the right...where it belongs. Why does everyone want to keep hiding the useful tools?
Firefox 29 stinks and I've had nothing but problems from the beginning...and since making the mistake of resetting.
I now have a folder of stuff that I have no clue what to do with as, upon resetting, I got "Oooops this is embarrassing, we're having a problem" or something. Any clues about what to do with all that "junk" (now, to me) might also be helpful.

I was used to being able to select the folder to place my bookmark without going into an edit session. This is as useless now as windows "libraries"
