Bookmarks no longer show up in latest Firefox. So what does one do?

Latest "upgrade" has evaporated my bookmarks. Extremely annoying. So advise on what to do!!

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
*If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

Depends -what other clues? What recently changed? Do you have a good current backup? best guess is to Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - and repair the database - if that does not resolve things rebuild your iPhoto library database

Folders created in bookmarks no longer show up when I right a webpage to save.

folders that where made with right click crate new folder no longer show in that particular menu. they appear under book marks at the top of the page but no longer appear when I right click a web page and wish to save to a folder specifically created for this type of subject, they are no appearing there anymore. I havent added and toolbars or extensions the folders are just not there. I am using win7 home premium and ff 3.6.17

In the global settings page on the iPad, (this is where users can configure settings for each app.) there is an option for Firefox Home to "Use Safari". What does this setting actually do, or not do?

Mac Air is dark and emits three short beeps/three long beeps/three short beeps ("SOS"). What does this mean?

Mac Air was left on power attached to a monitor overnight. In the morning there was a message that I had to turn it off by depressing the "on" key for over then seconds. I did this and it would not turn off. It is now emitting three short beeps followed by three long and three shorts ("SOS" in morse code). What does this mean?

If what I read is correct, you will need to take your MBA to Apple to have its firmware restored.
I cannot explain why this happened.

I can no longer find a manage bookmarks tab anywhere in my (the latest) Firefox browser.

I have been using browsers for over 15 years, and Firefox for about 10. After the next to last Firefox upgrade I was no longer able to find a manage bookmarks tab. I can bookmark a page and place it in an existing folder, but I can no longer create folders, arrange tabs alphabetically in a folder or delete folders. I have searched everywhere for help, but found none on point.
By the way, it was very annoying that after I had typed in a question about the same as above, I then went to Troubleshooting Information and tried to find help, but when I was unable to do so and I returned to this page, my question was gone and I had to start over again.

OK working now ... for some reason the bookmarks screen was behind the Firefox screen ... duh .... how about renaming this function something which indicates it has an edit function? Like in the past ...

I no longer have a bookmarks column (at the left) when I sign on. Instead, I get a full page of whatever site I bring up. I have tried bringing the column back by using the Firefox button at top left, but there seems to be no way to bring back the bookmarks column. I have Firefox 5 and use Vista.

The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.

Bookmarks no longer show under Bookmarks menu

While I was using Safari I lost my bookmarks via clicking the bookmarks menu item. They're still there by clicking the open book in the toolbar. CCC was running at the time.
How do I get bookmarks back under the menu?

I am having problems with this same thing. I go to add bookmark and it does not show up under the bookmark menu (ie. I saved a bookmark to my son's high school, under the kids menu option). It doesn't show up to be able to be selected. When I go to show all bookmarks it's there.
Why is this happening? My hard drive just died, I had a new one installed with new system folder (but I am still running 10.4... I like being able to access classic) I've done the updates for Safari and am now running 4.0.4.
Any suggestions on how to get my bookmarks to appear again would be greatly appreciated!!

When I set up my Gmail accounts, Firefox asked if I wanted to save my passords and I said Yes, but it no longer shows them and I've forgotten what they were; Google seems to have interfered with Firefox's memory, which I hope you can revive.

Google is always trying to get more information out of me. I don't want to tell them anything. Now they've "arranged" for my passwords to be lost and I can't access my e-mail. Firefox used to know them; I no longer do. This problem started when I did the last Firefox update.

Do you see the saved password for Google in the Password Manager?
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode if Firefox doesn't offer to store the password.

edit this bookmark drop down, click "done".

That should work the same way. However, you might want to check "Unsorted Bookmarks" to see whether they are in there. This can be found at the bottom of the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b to open).

I got (horrible) adware add-on (MacGlobalDeals) packaged with my update to latest firefox version; what is that about?

Why on earth is there an invasive adware plug in that takes over every page I open and opens new tabs without asking packaged automatically into the latest update of Firefox for Mac? I've been a staunch Firefox user for years, and this is the first thing that has seriously made me consider switching away. I *think* I got rid of the ads (some of them with images bordering on porn) by blocking and removing the add-on through the Tools menu and then restarting Firefox, but I'm afraid it's still somewhere on my computer and going to get into things. It makes me want to wipe my computer down and reinstall everything from backups - and then switch to Chrome. Please tell me this is an error that will be rectified? It's not okay.

James - I got it from the mozilla site, because I'm not stupid enough to download from unknown sources, and I haven't downloaded anything else recently. I agree that it would be a stupid thin for Mozilla to do and that I had a very hard time believing it. That's why I posted. I'd be happy to believe some other explanation, especially since that one makes no sense.
So please tell me: if I got it from the official website, and I haven't downloaded or updated any other applications in weeks, how did I get this suddenly showing up right after I downloaded Firefox? Losing many songs which have been downloaded from a CD or through I tunes. These songs now no longer show up on my phone (but did at one time) and do show up on my computer but the Computer cannot play the songs or now locate them

I have an I Phone 3GS. It has sufficient memory for all of my I Tunes Library. I am now losing songs on my I phone which previously were either downloaded to I tunes or puchased from I tunes. The were there and were playable.
I checked my computer and these songs still show up but I can no longer access them.
Please let me know how I can locate these tunes and restore them to both my computer and also my phone.

Depending on what kind of computer you have, you're gonna need to put that backup in the appropriate folder or itunes is not gonna be able to see it for you to use.

I pulled the bookmarks html file off of my computer after it crashed, and am trying to get my old bookmarks into firefox. How does one do that?

When my computer crashed, we managed to recover a bunch of the files and information from it. One of the files we pulled was the bookmarks.html from the firefox folder. The computer was running on Vista when it crashed, and I now have it running 7 Professional. The file is recorded as a Chrome html file on the new computer, and when I click on it, it pulls up a basic html page within Chrome or firefox that has links to the firefox website (kind of like a webpage version of the bookmarks folder from the toolbar, but without any of the bookmark adding capabilities). I'd like to get my old bookmarks loaded into firefox. Help?

Firefox hasn't used the '''bookmarks.html''' file for storing bookmarks since the Firefox 2 versions, in 2008. Later versions use '''places.sqlite''' for bookmarks and history. What you have is the default file that Firefox uses on new installations and new Profiles, which has like 6 bookmarks.
