Bookmarks not working in multi-document PDF application
Why are bookmarks not working in multi-document PDF application when uploaded to the web? We created a multi-document PDF application. All bookmarks and links work on our systems. All work on the customer's system. They do not work when uploaded to the customers website. Their IT department says its an issue of relative vs. absolute addressing. We've created applications like this for years without running into this issue. Can't find anything about it in Acrobat Help. Can anyone help or lead me to help? Thx much, Sandy
Have you tried opening the file in your browser to see if the bookmarks are working? To open the file in your browser you need to do this:
1) Launch your favorite browser;
2) File >> Open >> Select your pdf file

In the Applications tab -- Content Type -- the "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon (not Adobe), so selecting Adobe Reader or preview in Firefox as action does not work to display the PDF. I can see this Applications difference because my other Firefox laptop has the Adobe icon, and I can view PDFs. I think you need to add this to the list of applications and the action to take on the type of content. This can also be managed in the about:permissions page. [[Permissions Manager - Give certain websites the ability to store passwords, set cookies and more]] -
Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade
Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade. Created a simple report using the below query:
SELECT po_header_id, segment1, type_lookup_code
FROM po_headers
WHERE segment1 = '5000002'
Query works perfectly fine; when i set the ORG_CONTEXT in the database using the command:
EXEC mo_global.set_policy_context('S',129)
But the report doesn't fetch any data when ran from an Org based responsibility. We've ensured that the MO: Operting Unit is set accurately and general Oracle reports (PLSQL Program OR XML Publisher) are working perfectly fine.

I followed the steps provided in Metalink Note: 732826.1 - It works for some responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is not set; but fails for those responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is set.
I am looking for specific solution that works irrespective of either the MO: Operating Unit profile is set of not.
Please suggest. Appreciate your response.

- Tried this option; but this option is messing up a couple of Oracle Standard Functionalities.
- For ex: If i set this profile option; we are not able to create any receipts using Custom Responsibilities.
I am able to create the receipt, when i remove this profile option.
No Data Shows for Reports in Discoverer 10g with Applications Release 12 [ID 1054380.1]
- I see that the products i am running these reports from AR/GL - already exists in these tables.
Anything other options??

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro. I transferred my CS4 from my older MacBook Pro to my new computer, and although it seemed to be working fine now some fonts will not work when PDFing documents from InDesign CS4. These fonts are installed on my new computer, can be found in InDesign CS4, and work fine within the program but will not appear in PDFs. The letters turn into rectangles. Does anyone know why, and how to fix that?
Help/input would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Kristen.you should properly install adobe products, not move, migrate or otherwise transfer them.

Please let me know the exact workflow you are following when you get this error.
Are you trying to convert from within Reader or from Browser? BROWSER
If from Reader then make sure you are signed in within Reader, Also try updating Reader to the latest v11.0.09 and check.
If from browser, please let me know which browser you are using and its version? GOOGEL CHRONE and MOZILA
Have you checked with a different browser if possible?yes

Self-Paced Learning - Bookmark not working in Captivate 5
I followed the directions of adding a Table of Contents to one of my captivate projects and selecting Self-Paced Learning in order to create a bookmark but this does not work. I have saved it as Adobe Flash 9 and Adobe Flash 10 but I am not getting the message about starting where I left off when either refreshing the browser or exiting and going back in. What am I missing?

How did you check: after uploading to a LMS?
You have to be aware of the fact that a slide will be marked as 'viewed'
only when the playbar has played the whole slide till the end. If you do
pause slides with a click box, button, TEB and attach the action 'Go to
Next slide' or something similar instead of the default action 'Continue'
this will not happen and the slide will not be marked as completed.

What kind of the workflow associated to the Library and what error you getting when trying to perform send to?

Print Document option, not work when adding documents.
Dear friends.
I have checked inside SAP BO the checkbox Print Document when AR Invoice is added (Print preferences) But this action not work because the document not is printed automatically, then the user has to print it manually.

Highlight text not working in multi-thread client-server application plug-in
I'm developing a plugin application for my dissertation research on multi-application environment. I have an application server that communicate with the PDF document via plugin.
The plugin acts as both client and server, depending on the situation.
- Plugin as Server
I have a multi-threaded winsock2 IOCP running to catch client connections and when a client connected, get the data from the client (set of words), and highlight these words in the pdf document.
- Plugin as client
I use 2 procedures, one to collect all the text from PDF and send to the server using tcp win-socket connection and another to collect data from highlight tool and send these text. both these are not threaded.
Here's my question, because I want to listen to multiple client connections, when the plugin is the server, I'm running this procedure in a thread and then wait for clients to connect and use IOCP to serve the client connections. When the client is connected I use the data coming from client to highlight some text in the PDF document. All of these functionalities are already implemented, but when I receive data from client and try to highlight text in the PDF document my application freezes up and stop working. I think this is something to do with the thread. I'm using _beginthreadex to start the server and then another _beginthreadex inside the IOCP worker thread.
I can post the code, but before that let me know if you can see any problem in this situation. What I see from other posts is that acrobat is not multi-threaded.Thanks a lot for the reply.
I guess I probably need some sort of a notification when the data is received and do a callback to the main thread to run the acrobat API. Is there anyway I can create custom notifications? Something like this,

Javascript-based multi-parameter bookmarks not working in firefox 13

Think of it like this: use a keyword to call in the search, then put in two parameters (say, zip code and type of forecast) and it goes straight to the page (my zip code, 7-day. or parents' zip code, hourly) in one shot.
It's sometimes stopped working recently, and I think it's been since I upgraded to FF13. By 'not working' i mean I can restore the bookmark;s "location" to what used to work, and then the shortcut works just fine until .... I don't know. Usually closing firefox and reopening it again and then trying to use the bookmark will cause the browser to just sit there with the entire javascript string in the subject bar.From my observations, it seems that it doesn't work on newly opened tabs, tabs where you didn't visited a single site. After I visited one random site on that tab, and entered the search keyword and parameters, it worked. It also works on the initial start page, because it's about:blank I guess.

Mail will NOT display a multi-page pdf file in the body.
I want to send an email with a multi-page PDF attached that is displayed in the email- so that readers don't even have to click on the pdf to open it. Can I do that? I can do a single page, and I did determine that if I save all the pages of the document as single pds and then attach those, that works, but is there a way to display a multi-page pdf? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I do not use pages - there are several possible solutions to your situation - in pages you should be able to do a send pdf to iPhoto and then in iPhoto you can create an e-mail with smaller (and harder to read) images- you may be able to produce smaller (lower quality) PDFs in pages (don't know), you can change e-mail servers - use a different one it you have multiple accounts or get a free gmail account or other new account that will handle your needs

Automation not working in multi output stereo?
I changed my stereo outputs into multi output stereo and noticed that the volume automation is not being read any more. All the volume levels are still moving up and down but the sound itself stays at the same level. I tried out what would happen if I set them back to normal stereo and yes, the automation works again. Why is this?
