How can I delete some of my bookmarks from my I-Pad Air without them deleting from my I-Pad Mini at the same time and visa versa??

Go to Settings > iCloud > Safari turn this OFF.

Thank you for you question, I understand there is no sync button on the android pad. It is possible to update to Firefox 32.0.3 and make sure that you are on the new version of Firefox sync.

I must apologize as I misread your post. I though that you were talking about Safari bookmarks but you post does clearly state iBooks bookmarks.
You may want to just try restarting both devices and see if that helps. One other thing that you could try is quit iBooks on both devices and then launch it again and see if the bookmarks are synced when you relaunch.

Ipad bookmarks will not work

AAPL store Genius Bar....can't find solution. AAPL........TECH SUPPORT.......No answers.
Here is the situation......I am unable to create a bookmark folder in Safari on ipad. I am unable to bookmark anything. I have, as have others followed all the correct procedures. Go to bookmarks.....edit....select create new folder.......identify where to put it.....select "done".......nothing appears. To bookmark a page.....go to action icon left of URL......select "bookmark"......select location.......enter "save". .....nothing appears. However, if I create the bookmark folder on my MacBook, it appears on the ipad. If I bookmark a page on my MacBook....it appears in bookmarks on ipad. The entire process works as designed on my iPhone. I have tried every conceivable "fix" that I have read about, heard about, as have all AAPL reps to resolve this problem, to no avail. The problem originated in IOS 6.....AAPL Genius peeps opined that a new OS might fix problem. When IOS 7 came out, the install did not fix the issue. Today AAPL Care advised that they had no idea what the problem is.....they said, "let's try installing IOS 8 to see if that helps". I said...."why do you think that solution has merit." They said because "it might" I politely told the lady that this one problem was enough.....I did not need 15 more with IOS 8 because she was out of answers otherwise.
In short, it is clear that the information from MacBooks and IPhone are reaching the cloud just fine. The cloud is sending data to ipad as designed And bookmarks are showing up. In all other respects the data on the ipad is syncing fine with the cloud.......calendar, photos, Pages etc, etc. But Safari on the ipad simply refuses to create bookmarks on the pad. Also the reading list is unresponsive to delete actions.
Total frustration. Advice or solutions are badly needed.........Thanks

Reset your device: Press down on the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time and continue to hold them until the Silver Apple appears (no data will be lost). Once the Home screen comes back up, check to see if everything is working correctly now.

Mouse pad virtual wheel not working in bookmarks menu

Hi,
My laptops mouse pad wheel does not work in the bookmarks menu. It works fine in any other application or on the main view in firefox. I'm not very organized and have hundreds of bookmarks, it's frustrating to have to wait for the up/down buttons in the bookmarks menu to scroll.

which did not work.

Maybe FCP 3 doesn't provide support for mouse wheel scrolling? I can't remember and I'm not going to install FCP 3 to test that theory.
You should be able to at least set the MS mouse driver to perform scroll wheel functions in FCP through the MS mouse preference pane (zoom in/out for example) but I don't know if that includes scrolling.

Bookmarks in safari on I pad

I now have thousands of bookmarks in safari. Could someone tell me how to delete them. I deleted the on the computer but can't delete themon the I pad. If I turn on safari on iCloud it puts them back on the computer . It's impossible to delete the one at a time.

i have firefox on my pc with windows 7 and I want to transfer the bookmarks to my new i-pad. I downloaded sync firefox onto my i-pad from the app store. It asks me to download the browser extension from apollobrowser.com onto my pc. now I am lost any help??

Firefox doesn't officially support this any longer. We used to have Firefox Home but it was discontinued. My recommendation is to use "Bookmarks on the go" instead of what you have already downloaded. That app has been developed by a Mozilla member and it's completely safe to use:

My I-pad has os 5 and icloud. I have lost my boolmarks on my ipad. I have tried to sync all on itunes several times- nothing and then enabled sync on icloud and tried sycing with icloud. I still have no bookmarks on my Ipad. Any ideas of wha to do next?

Your account is messed up in general. It's probably set to US version or some strange thing. Go check your apple ID (signin.apple.com) If you see the american flag in the bottom right, you will need to fix that.

I used to use a bookmark for maximizing the firefox window, but in FF9 it no longer works.

Before upgrading, I used the following snippet of code in the "Location" field of a Bookmark:

However, with FF9 that no longer works. I attempted to change the front portion (before the open parenthesis) to:

You can only do that in the Scratchpad if an XUL window like about:addons or about:config is open.

You can no longer run JavaScript code via the location bar in Firefox 6 and later.

I have a old firefox data file from a computer transfer i did and i want to get all the bookmarked sites i had orginized how can i do this?

That looks like a JSON bookmarks backup file, from 11-01-2012. Did you try '''restoring''' that file?

Never messed with JSON files other than viewing them on a few occasions out of curiosity. There are no line breaks which make them very difficult to read.
As far as working with that file in {like} NotePad goes:
A. use Find / Search for each indecent of a '''"uri"''' string, then "copy and paste" the uri into another text file, and then move on to the next "uri" string.
B. use a text program where a filter can be set for the "uri" field in the JSON file for a line break or to "scrape out" the "uri"s only for display or export to a list of uri's.
Or try using an online JSON editor like this, to try to display only the "uri" field.

In Firefox 3.6, when I clicked on a bookmark it would open in a new tab. In 4.0, the bookmark open in an already open tab. How can I make 4.0 work the way 3.6 did when opening bookmarks?

I have already made sure the 'Open new windows in a new tab instead' option is checked. It doesn't make any difference (at least not with bookmarks).

Google search and other websites have a user preference that can be set to open a search result in a new tab or a new window, for users who are logged in to their website.
Otherwise, when you don't have a 3-button mouse or a scroll pad with "middle-click" functionality, you can use '''{Ctrl + Click}''' to open a hyperlink in a new Tab.

Generic icons are displayed after visiting bookmarks instead of Favicons.

1. I have done multiple searches over the past month trying to find a resolution to this issue without any success. Somewhere during the last two Firefox updates all of my bookmarks are now displaying the generic icon instead of the specific icon for that URL (i.e. www.doctoroz.com).
2. The few responses, to the multiple posts for this same issue, have been no help (with a couple needing to be deleted as they don't answer the question (padding posts?)).

Browsing Basics video has many more tabs on screen than my Mac Firefox shows (i.e. no Firefox tab, no bookmark tab, no new tab tab,no all tabs tab), so most features of Firefox are not available to me .

I'm a year into using a computer, and my Mac was set up by another family member who is no longer around.
Tonight I noticed the Firefox "getting started: tab and thought I might learn something. For starters, the screen on the Browsing Basics picture was so small as to be almost unreadable; I played parts of the video many times to catch what tab was being explained. It did not help that many of the tabs on the video were not on my Mac's Firefox screen.
Specifically, my screen has no Firefox tab (except at the top next to the Mac Apple logo), no bookmark tab to the right of the Home tab, no plus sign/new tab tab, no all tabs tab.
My screen also does not match the details on the sample screen that comes up when I first clicked on the Firefox "getting started" tab.
It would seem I need a new Firefox top section of my screen, but I just downloaded Firefox updates.......Thanks for any help!

I too just downloaded Firefox on my Mac and noticed that my screen did not match the video. The video's sample screen has been customized to show all the features you can add and use to make browsing easier, like adding all those tabs you and I don't have yet.
But first let me comment on how small the video is, with no way of expanding the video. Your mac can easily zoom in to make the video as big as you need it. Just hold down your ctrl key, place two fingers on your track pad and zoom in or out to the desired size. I use this feature so much, to read small text and watch video windows that are too small. Try it.
After you finish watching the "getting started video" just roll over the markers to make Firefox do what you need it to do. I however have the most of the tab features already from importing some of my settings from another browser so I can't tell you step by step on how to get the tabs you want. Just play around with it and I'm sure you'll begin to appreciate the speed and ease like I do.
