Bookmarks, Tab Names, and Websites with Updating Titles

A lot of websites today use the title of the site to provide information, such as unread emails in Gmail, new tweets in Twitter, new messages in Facebook and Meebo, how many minutes until the next bus on NextMuni. This information appears in the title bar and in most broswers that website's tab. This works for Safari as long as you do NOT have the website bookmarked. If you have the website bookmarked and you access it through the bookmark then the title in the tab is frozen as whatever you bookmarked it as, therefore you will see no updates. When I am getting ready for work I like to leave a tab with NextMuni open while I browse, in most broswers I can just check the tab title, but not in Safari, because I used a bookmark to get to the site. For websites like Facebook and Meebo I have to leave the annoying sounds on, otherwise I miss messages (which I still miss when I listen to music as it drowns out the sound)
Basically I want to know is there anyway to fix this. I want my bookmarked webpages to use their original titles, not what I bookmarked them as (I often rename bookmarks to abbreviations like like FB to save room on my bookmarks bar)

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

I am stuck with a google theme behind the bookmark tab bar and url box. How do I get rid of it? changing themes isn't the issue - it's just all stuck in back!

I set a theme on igoogle - but it seems to now be embedded in my firefox as it is behind the url box, behind the bookmark tab bar and at the bottom of the page. How do I get rid of it. Sorry if this posted twice I am NEW. I thought I could just go back to what I typed and add to it. Mom had a computer it died they are putting in the old drive on the new computer as a slave. What are the steps I need to do to transfer ALL the bookmarks, user names and passwords onto the new computer. We will have 3 desktops do we have to do the same steps on each desktop? I do not want to re enter all the user names and passwords on the new hard drive. Old computer was Windows XP the new computer is Windows 7 Kathryn Schwartz

"Enter your name and password to update the RSS feed"

I keep getting a pop-up from Safari (even when it's in the background) that says:
+*Enter your name and password to update the RSS feed*+
How on earth do I disable this? It is asking for a username and password for Twitter so I must have clicked an RSS feed link there, but after searching like mad, I can't figure out where Safari looks for RSS at on my system.

This started occurring immediately after updating to safari 4.
I tried disabling the automatic RSS updates in safari preferences, set it to "never" as suggested, but the annoying window keeps on popping up.
So the original question is still not answered for me.
It seems to me that all people reporting this problem are OSX Tiger (10.4.11) users

AirDrop showing the wrong name and picture with iOS 7

AirDrop is showing the wrong name and picture on my wife's phone....It is showing my name and picture. She has an iPhone 5 and I just updated her to iOS7 about an hour ago, same time as I did mine. Is it because we are connected with the same Apple ID and if so, how do I fix it? She is annoyed by it and not seeing where I can change it in the settings is beginning to annoy me. Help!

I don't think that's the issue. I'm having the same problem. My wife, my son, and I all use the same Apple ID, but we have different email addresses and phone numbers for facetime and imessage (we've never had an issue with imessage or facetime). Today, I updated my phone and ipad to ios 7 and tried to experiment with airdrop. On both devices it showed my son's name. Then my son updated his ipad and we tested airdrop again. His ipad shows up on my phone and ipad with his name as well. The email address that I use for Apple ID is not associated with him on any device. His name is not listed on our Apple ID account. One of them shows his photo that he uses for his facebook profile, but the other's just have a gray circle with his first initial. I'm hoping it's just a bug that will get fixed soon, but if anyone knows a fix, please share.

Hi everyonei have problem with updating my y510p lenovo laptop nvidia driver ,my current nvidia driver version is 327.62 which i download from lenovo website,Now for better performance in new games like gta v and witcher3 ,i decide to updating nvidia driver,first remove my nvidia graphic driver from add or remove then download nvidia ver 350 from nvidia official web site , which nvidia website confirm it support my graphic card which is Gt755m , then i install new ver and during install i check clean install , after successful install , restart laptop , then there was problem . when i try to open nvidia control panel it wont running and an error showed up and said "You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU" .i try to open a game , game running in really low fps and i find out game run on hd graphic of my laptop and my nvidia graphic wont run .The only way to repair was i install my last nvidia driver 327.62 and run a system restore .guys what is your suggestion and how i can update my y510p nvidia driver ?Thanks

Hi Y510Man,
     The video graphics installation order is important. You need to install the Intel Graphics first, and then do the Nvidia. IIRC you should un-install the Nvidia driver, then re-install (or upgrade) the Intel HD Graphics driver. Reboot, and install the new Nvidia driver.
     I don't know why, but every time I upgraded my Y470 Nvidia driver, I had to use this procedure. First install, or re-install, the Intel driver, then install the Nvidia. You can't just upgrade the Nvidia driver without a re-install of the Intel. I think it has to do with the Optimus setting, and the automatic switching.

Anyone else have difficulty using third party software and websites with the new MacBook Pro with retinal display?

I just returned my new Mac book pro with retinal display after three very disappointing three weeks of trying to use certain websites and other third party programs (Quickbooks, Raintree) that would not function properly. My husband own the previous MacBook Pro version with the built in CD rom and I was able to use those above mentioned websites and problems with the no difficulties. Did I just happen to get a lemon or is this a function of the computer being too new for third party software?

Programs such as Quickbooks pro for Mac, I was able to import my previous data and I was able to enter about 5 new transactions before it stopped being able to save transactions. Other programs ( Raintree ) that I use via VM software as a windows based program I was able to access and use some features but not others. On the web browsers (both safari and Mozilla) I use a website that has an analyzer feature and it would pull up a blank screen in the place where I would enter pertinent information. They tried pulling this website at the apple store today and the same issue happened. All these programs and website I am able to access and run smoothly with no issues on my husbands MacBook Pro , which is why I returned my MacBook. I just wondered if others were experiencing similar issues with their MacBook with retinal display.

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? Also publish the sites to a folder on your hard drive and open them locally with your browser to check for the changes. If the changes are present then the problem lies in the uploading of the files.
If you're using the built in FTP client of iWeb to upload your files then you should try using the free client Cyberduck. This would require you to publish your site to a folder on your hard drive and upload the site folder to your server. Many users have found that using CyberDuck was more successful than iWeb's client.

The best way to get this data is through the BAPI:

You can change your AppleID/e-mail address. In iTunes on the Menu Bar go to Store/View my Apple ID. It'll take you to your account page in iTunes. Where it says Apple ID(your e-mail address) there is a link to edit that information. It shows your current e-mail and password/verify password. Below that is a link to change your security questions and other Apple ID details appleid.apple.com.
On that page it says if you change your e-mail address it'll send a verification e-mail to that address.. and that new Apple ID/e-mail address will be used to access all Apple services(iTunes etc)

A book can have multiple authors, and when I do straight query I get multiple rows per book

Hi! My name is Derek Turner and I have been hacked through a friend's email message to me which I opened unsuspecting any danger. Initially, he sent me an 'attention' or warning email with a link which I tried to open but it could not be opened, so I left it not knowing what it was all about at the time. Later, I received another email from him (probably the hacker) and opened a 'not very pleasant' web site. It did not twig with me at the time as I am a bit new to this type of thing but when I mentioned it to my wife she immediately said that I had been 'hacked'. By this time it was too late, and it infected all my email addresses! I would be grateful if you may know if there is software that I can use to clean up my email account and if there is anything for iPad minis that can prevent this happening in future? (Malware, Firewall?). I am also getting emails back that relate to the hacker and I cannot 'delete' them from my iPad, only on my PC! Any suggestions?

I don't think that can be solved by any advice the regular posters could post here.
I would go back to Apple and explain the situation (again).
I would also consider closing the account (Apple rarely seem to do this as accounts are never deleted but just closed).
I understand this may cause issues for things purchased in iTunes and the App Store which my include Restoring the OS at some point.

is there a way to automatically print the name of a document and the time it was printed on documents that I print on the mac?
how does this work?
can i set it globally by printer driver?
can i set it globally by software?
or can i only set it by manually doing this on each document?

Iphoto exporting images with no name and mail with no reply info

One of our Macbook pros, running osx 10.8.5, is sending email via iphoto that ,
#1) creates a photo with NO NAME that cannot be saved no matter what you do,
and
#2) the email can not be forwarded, seems like because there is not "reply to" information.
the Prefs are filled out correctly in the iPhoto email settings.
Why did they configure iphoto to do the "send" FROM iphoto in this OSX version? This worked fine before as it would open up your mail whereby you could arrange and double check things.
So i was trying to do a work around by sending the email to myself but the email and the attachment can not be forwarded. As well the image CAN NOT be dragged to the desktop to be saved. USELESS!

InDesign has a feature that will automatically search for other missing links when you fix a missing link. When you relinked the first of your grayscale images, you may have accidentally relinked to the saturated image. When this happened it searched the directory that the newly re-linked file was in for all the other missing files. Since your image names all matched up to images in that directory, they all got re-linked.
This auto-relink feature can be toggled in the relink dialog:
If you have a backup of your file, you can revert to that version, and try to relink your images from that one. In the future you should make sure that images all have unique identifiers, it is bad practice to have images with identical names.
