Books Do Not Appear in Shared Libraries

We have set up Home Sharing and can view music, tv shows, movies and audio books from each others' libraries. However, none of our books downloaded to iBooks appear. Any suggestions on what we might be doing wrong?

There isn't a way to select books specifically in the Sharing pane, at least in iTunes 11.0.2. I'm having the same problem across all systems using Home Sharing in our house, and all instances of iTunes have "Share entire library" selected.

Welcome to the forums!
Do you mean you don't know how to see any fonts at all? If that is the case, use the Font icon in the toolbar, or go to the Format menu, and in the Fonts submenu choose "Show Fonts" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command-T). Any of these methods will bring up the Font Panel.
If you mean that fonts do not show up in the Font Panel, be sure that the fonts themselves are turned on in Font Book.

Books do not appear on e reader

Hi there,
I downloaded an item from my public library website which is now showing up in ADE. however after I click and drag the book onto my ereader in ADE, and eject, the book does not appear in by reader anywhere. What else can I check?

Thanks for the reply. I experienced the issue running the most recent version of the Adobe Mobile Reader app. I'm not sure I can convince the client to use anything else, but its worth a shot.
All I need is a simple drop-down list (multiple fields in the document) with 4 options that the user can select and submit as a form. Is this something EZ Pdf reader can do? Also, is EZ Pdf Reader free? (the reason I ask is I am an Android user and do not readily have access to a iPad).

Apparently you can redownload your Audible purchases. The same would not be true of iTunes audiobooks. In future backup the library with this User Tip.

Hierarchy and order of albums is not maintained when sharing libraries

Hi - I'd like to share photos on my computer with those stored on my wife's computer and vice versa. I enabled the "share entire library" options and we both can see each others libraries. So far so good, however, the hierarchy of the how the photos are organised within each library is not maintained.
For example, I have organised my photos into folders containing albums and smart albums. There are also some albums and smart albums at the top level alongside the folders. When my wife accesses my library from her machine she can only see the top level entries and they appear in what seems to be random order.
Is there a way to maintain the order and hierarchy across shared libraries?
BTW, I also tried it with the "share selected albums" option but again I can only see the top level folders and albums and I don't want to have to manually add items to the share whenever I create a new folder or album.

Address Book Recipient Not Appearing in Mail To List

I have an entry in my Address Book that will not appear in Mail's to field when I start typing that person's name. I can drag and drop from Address Book without a problem. Just seems to be a problem with one contact. Any suggestions to get this working?

If a new OAB is set as default, please check whether the OAB folder in the following path is the latest date in Exchange sever:
a. OAB generated in Mailbox:
\\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ ExchangeOAB
b. OAB distribution in Client Access:
\\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB
If the OAB file is not generated, please collect any event logs in Mailbox server and provide your OAB virtual directory information for more troubleshooting. If the files in both of two folders are latest,
we can try the following steps in Outlook to download Offline Address Book:
1. Delete the *.oab files in the following folders in local machine:
\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Offline Address Books
2. Create a new Outlook profile that uses Cached Exchange Mode.
3. Start Outlook 2010 with this new profile.
4. In the ribbon click Send / Receive, click
Send/Receive Groups and then click Download Address Book.

Settings/Show menus not appearing when shared computer selected.

My daugher and have PCs and share our iTune libraries with each other. I'm not quite sure when this happened, but there are no longer any menus available when we select each other's computer under SHARED. We can't select "Items not in my library" to import new music. Additionally, we can't set iTunes to automatically transfer new purchases from the other's library.
How can we get our menus back?

It should work, is the pre-script set in the story or the track?
Actually stepping back a second, how is the project set-up? It looked like it was stories between tracks?

Address book contacs not appearing

i am having some issues with my address book lately, when i open address book, everything is blank, i am not allowed to add any contacts or do any modifications. what is weird is the fact that the contacts do appear in mobileme, and when i compose a new email all the contacts are available available as well. i've tried resetting the mobileme sync settings and have set it to transfer all contacts to my macbook pro with no success, everything is still blank, any help?
I have restarted my computer to see if the problem is fixed and everything is the same. I also checked user>library>addressbook and al the v.cards are there, i reallybran out of ideas.

Since you reinstalled Address Book from your install disk, you should also reinstall the Mac OS X v10.6.3 v1.1 Update (Combo) to bring the Address Book application up to the most recent version. Give that a try while you are waiting for other suggestions.

FR Report book pages not appearing

Does anyone know of any options to display the PDF pages on the Hyperion report books created from Financial Reporting? I see the pages on the table of contents, but not on the actual page of the report.

Oh so you see the real report (you said you can only see the report in TOC not the real report) and footer is missing?
Did you try generating the report again and check whether it is solved?

Time capsule does not appear in shared devices

All of the sudden my Time Capsule does not show up in the shared devices. It's all up to date, it is working fine as a router and internet connection works fine. It also show up in the airpot utility and the light is green however it does not show up on the shared devices so I cannot access the data folider anymore.
Furthermore Airport utility indicates that the disk is damaged but I cannot repair it because I cannot access it.
Any ideas? (beside doing a reset which I have already done)

That is bad.. the light should not be green unless you told the TC to ignore the problem.
A damaged disk has to be replaced.. if the SMART has gone off or is showing as bad or no capacity then you need to replace the disk (or if under warranty.. the whole TC).
How old is the TC?
Model number from the base A1xxx helps.
You can try doing an erase from the airport utility if the disk shows up at all. But if SMART has gone off the disk will need replacement anyway.
If less than 1year return to apple for warranty replacement.. and if you have applecare on a computer it will cover the TC for up to 3years although the rules are strict.. so check.
See instructions for removal of the hard disk.

Certainly if the TC is older than 3years.. it might be better to consider replacement. Certainly replacing a hard disk could be just short fix until the power supply also goes.

My book does not appear in my library

I downloaded a biology book at home and everything was fine, but every time I leave home, my book disappears from my library! When I try to download it at school, it keeps working, but it never downloads. As soon as I get home, it appears. What am I doing wrong?

You should be able to copy it over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
Audiobooks are a one-time only download from the store, so you may want to take a backup copy of it when you've copied it over to your computer

HT201322 when I follow these directions "5. Choose a content type by clicking Music, Movies, TV shows, Apps, or Books from the top." "Books" does not appear as an option for me.

Mac Book Pro not showing under shared section on my iMac anymore.

I used to be able to access my files on my MacBook Pro remotly with my iMac through file sharing eventhough the lid was closed. Now, everytime I close the lid of my MacBook pro it also disappears from the shared section on the iMac.
At the end I would like to be able to access my MacBook with my iMac remotely at home, so I can keep the laptop closed and placed behind the iMac. Thats the idea. And I had it working somehow before. So why is my laptop playing dead all of the sudden when I close the lid?
Another thing that got effected by this sudden change is the charging of my Apple devices (iphone/shuffle) when closing the lid. it just stops. Sometimes it doesnt charge the phone and other times it charges the phone but its switched off? I mean ***? I turn it on and its 100%. So there must be something wrong with the MacBook pro.
(additional info...I had the screen recently fixed since it had a crack in it, but it everything was working when I got it back....now out of the blue it stops)
Dont get me wrong...when the lids up everything is working perfectly. Charging is good. Sharing is working and I can use back to my mac on my iMac. Close the lid and the problems pop up.

Actually Pages for Mac and Pages for iOS are two completely different versions of the app and have nothing to do with one another. They have to be purchased separately, for the Mac from the Mac App Store and for your iPad from the iTunes App Store.
You may have a corrupted index file. Try reindexing your iMac and then see if it will update Pages. Others have solved this issue by repairing the permissions on their Mac. Thirdly, if the other two ideas prove fruitless, create a Test user account on your iMac, log into the Test account, sign into the Mac App Store and then see if you can update Pages.

HT1848 I downloaded a book on itunes on one computer and it is not listed on a seconded computer. Same account. I have tried updating purchases and transferring recent purchases, transferring purchases from another devices. Still does not appear.

If it's an audiobook then you will need to copy it over from the first computer to the second computer - audiobooks are currently one-time only downloads, so they won't appear under the Purchased link for re-downloading. If you copied it onto a device from the first computer then you should be able to copy it off that device to the second computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. If it's not on a device and both computers are on the same wifi network then you should be able to copy it over via home sharing (there are instructions on this page), or you can copy it to, for example, a flash drive (you can find it's location on the first computer by control-clicking it in your iTunes library and selecting 'Show In Finder') and then add it to the second computer's iTunes (File > Add To Library).
If it's an ibook then you should be able to re-download it from the store : re-downloading.

Audio books not appearing in iPod list

I have an 80gb 5g.
I recently purchased an audio book from iTunes and downloaded to my library. The book appears in the directory tree list under audiobooks and when I sync the ipod the audiobook item is also in the directory tree under "Devices".
However the Audiobook tab does not appear in the Summary on the RH window in iTunes and does not appear on the iPod as a heading "Audiobooks" To access the audiobook I have to scroll down the "artists" list - I find this rather strange.
Anyone having the same problem - or am I missing something?

I will go look to see if my audio book shows up like yours did.
My issue sounds similar. I bought a book from itunes and downloaded it. I can listen to it on my laptop without an issue. When I move it to my 30G Video Ipod, it shows up in the AudioBook folder when I view that folder via the computer. However, when I disconnect the Ipod from the laptop, the audio book does not appear in the audio book folder.
