So I have a new ipadmini. My wife has purchased tons of ebooks on amazon. She uses an older iPad. They are in the cloud. From my mini I can only see a handful in my cloud library. How can I get to my wife's cloud library? Thanks.

If she bought them from Amazon then they should be linked to her Amazon account, or do you share the same Amazon account ? If you have separate accounts then when using the Kindle app on your iPad are you currently logged into your own Amazon account or her account ? To access her kindle books in the app you will need to log out of your account (so your own kindle books will be removed) and log in with her account.

Is there a way to disable the option to save files in the cloud for a companies user base in the new subscription model??

Our corporation is mandated by privacy laws within provincial legislation that prevents us from using cloud based storage outside of our province for the storage of data. We are unable to continue using Adobe products based on the new subscription based model due to the inclusion of cloud based storage. We need to have a way to disable the ability/option for our large corporate user base to store data files in the cloud. Merely having the "option" to store files in a location of one's choice is not sufficient based on the policies we are legally forced to adhere to. Without the option of disabling the cloud storage for our user base we will be forced to look at other vendors products to fill the needs we have that are currently filled by the Adobe line of products. We would prefer to stay with Adobe products...so if someone knows how to disable this option (via registry edits, etc.), please advise.

there is no clean solution for your problem. Browsers cache files by url, you can avoid caching appending in query string unique value per deployment. For example
_layouts/my_js_file.js?v=<current date> - will be refreshed from cache when day changes
_layouts/my_js_file.js?v=<GUID> - if guid is generated on every request, this file should never cache
_layouts/my_js_file.js?v=<product version> - more preferable solution, browser will update cache on every new version that was deployed
Actually, ScriptLink should take care about this, internally it has a method that appends unique id into query string based on js file content, if content changed, hash is also changed and new unique id is generated.

If you were logged in to icloud on the computer and it is on / connected to wifi / not erased, you will be able to go to iCloud.com (universal) and find a location. If the mac book had a deleted partition which held your icloud info you will not.

Hide books in the cloud

In OS7 and previous OS on your device you could hide books, music and films not on the device but in the cloud. In OS8 I can hide music and films but my main books folder now has every book showing and is difficult to navigate as iBooks is very, very slow to swipe up and down. I've created a collection 'cloud' and once the app has finished spinning the wheel and given me the 'edit' button I will move the books to that collection but if anyone has discovered how to hide the books not on the device I'd love to hear how.
Also wish iBooks app was as fast as Kindle app at adding and being able to categorise books, iBooks takes a long, long time regardless of how many books I have in that library. I have all my kindle books on my iPhone yet that app is instant in downloading and enabling adding to collections.

If you have iTunes Match, and your music is in your Match library, you can access it from iCloud on all your devices, provided they are signed into your iTunes Match account. Make sure you keep a backup of your music somewhere though as the match process isnt' perfect and you may find that some of your iTunes Match music isn't exactly the same as the original (see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112).
The best way to back up your photos is to import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. If you are out of room on your Mac, get an inexpensive external drive to save your photos on.

I have tons of CD's purchased over the last 20+ years. I really would like them in my iTunes library so that I can access them from any of my devices at anytime. I want to do the same with my already purchased CD's. HOW? is it easy?

Thank you... just read up on iTunes Match. That stinks, paying a yearly thing... but I understand everyone has to make a dollar. I think I'm better off just picking the best songs out of my collection storing them on my computer or iPhone then selling my CD's to some used CD place. If I ever really want to hear a song there are multiple options and if I want it... the .99 to 1.29 option is always there.

I used to be on my parents account and I bought a lot of books. Now my parents would like to delete some of these. Is there any way I could do this?

They can't be deleted because they aren't stored in their personal iCloud account (and as a result, don't take up any of their iCloud storage). They are stored in the iBooks store. The cloud symbols are just links to their previously purchased books so they can redownload them if they want.
If they don't want to see them, they can hide them in iTunes on their computer and they won't appear in the iBooks app on their devices. This explains how to hide them: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919.

How do i avoid duplicate data when synching iphone and mac book to the cloud?

When I left my job for the last time I uploaded my Microsoft Outlook Contacts to the Cloud so that I could synch it with my Iphone (which I did). Now I would like to also synch the Address Book on my Macbook with the Cloud and my Iphone so I can integrated all of these contacts. First I do not know if I can do this since my MACbook is a few years old aand I do not see the Cloud Icon anywhere on it. Second of all I am not sure which area (Cloud, Iphone, or Macbook) take precedence when synching. Can I lose data? Does one systems dat over ride the other? How can I avoid duplicate data? Calendar is not synching in the cloud with all devices

I have my calendar set to synch up with icloud. Why is it that my calendar only synchs up when I synch up on iTunes? Shouldn't it synch up automatically in the cloud?

On a Mac make sure Calendars is swtiched on in System Preferences > iCloud or Control Panel > Network and Internet > iCloud on a PC.

HT4059 downloading books from the cloud

i already purchased a book but can't seem to download to iBook it from the cloud. When I go to Purchased, and tap on the book to download, it just refers me to Purchases and tap Download, which I have been doing.

Are they showing up in the cloud or your phone, or as downloaded books ? If they are showing as downloaded then when do they reshow, after syncing with your Mac (which would imply that they are still on your Mac and being synced back from it), or randomly ? If they are showing as being in the cloud on your phone, and if you haven't already done so, then try logging out of your account via the Featured tab in the iBooks app on your phone and then log back in and see if they still show.
To check that all of your books are showing in the iBooks app on your Mac, do File > Move Books From iTunes in it and see if that gets any others to show.

I have tried, without success to share a keychain between two accounts. In Keychain Access -> Edit -> Keychain List there is a Shared checkbox next to each keychain. If I click on that, the keychain disappears from the list of Keychains that you see when you open Keychain Access (and if necessary, click on Show Keychains). The keychain does not show up on any other account, either. The keychain is still there in ~/Library/Keychains.
Seems pretty useless, as does Apple's article "Mac OS X 10.4 Help -- Administering keychains for multiple user" at <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1775.html>.
Some idiot in the security world recommended that we split our account into administrator and non-administrator, and normally log on only to the non-administrator account. This forces me to try to share files, folder, and keychains, so I can get any work done while logged on from the administrator account. Mostly, I don't think Unix, or Mac OS X, was designed to share things. (This is not a Mac versus PC statement. I only have one account on the PCs I'm forced to use at work -- it may be just as hard or harder on a PC.)
This security advice is stupid! Don't do it. Do everything on one account or you will waste hours and hours trying to bridge the gap between them.
But I would like to know how to share a keychain, since Apple's help files SAY you can. Only it does not work.
