  • What do I do to download an audio book to ipod nano

What do I do to download an audio book to ipod nano?

If you are currently using automatic syncing for the other media types, such as songs, you need to go to iPod's Books tab.
First, if you are using the latest version of iTunes, it may hide the sidebar.  To show the sidebar, go up to the menu bar, and under View, select Show Sidebar.
Select the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, there is a row of "tabs" that starts with Summary.  One of those tabs is Books (if you currently have audiobooks in your iTunes library).  On the Books tab, set it to Sync Audiobooks, and choose to sync All audiobooks or Selected audiobooks.  If you choose the latter, checkmark the audiobooks you want to sync below.  Apply the change.
If you use the manual method (not automatic syncing) to load songs, by dragging songs from the iTunes library to the iPod in the sidebar, you can do the same with audiobooks.  Find them under Books in the iTunes library, and drag the ones you want to the iPod in the sidebar.

  • When listening to an audio book the ipod nano (6th generation) keeps turning off?

Help!  I just purchased an ipod nano (6th generation) for the sole purpose of listening to audio books.  When I start a book about 20 seconds into it the screen goes dark and  the ipod stops...then I have to turn the on/off switch on to begin the book again.  I'm sure it has something to do with the settings, but I cannot locate the information I need in the ipod manual.  Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I saw your other post, but thought I would reply here as well. It is all about getting that headset seated all the way. If you can see any silver of the plug, it is not in far enough. Push harder. If it just won't go in, look in there to see if it is blocked. The bottom of the headset port is white, so if it appears all dark at the bottom... something is in there.

  • Can't see Audible books in iPod Nano 5th gen

I can't figure out how to play audiobooks from audible on my iPod Nano 5th generation. I can synch and play them on my iPhone 5 just fine, by selecting Audiobooks under Music.  However, there is no Audiobooks option under music on my nano.  There is also no iBooks application.  I checked iTunes summary and my nano software is up-to-date for that nano (version 1.0.2). Has anyone run into this and found a solution?  Thanks, any advice appreciated.

There is also no iBooks application.
iBooks are not compatible with your Nano.
Did you add the Audible books to your iPod Nano the same way you added you did the iPhone?
Head to Settings -> General -> Music Menu and make sure Audiobooks has a check mark next to it.

  • IPod Nano 4GB won't connect!! help please!

    ok so here's my problem::
i lost my original USB 2.0 charger cord and i got a new one yesterday. same thing..
only thing is, my iPod won't charge now. first, i plugged it into the laptop, and it said i needed to download iTunes. i did that & still didn't work. then, i tried charging it on the original computer i used to install my iPod when i got it. it still wont work. i tried the directions in the book the iPod Nano came with, and that didn't work..
    !!HELP!!

The fifth generation iPods do not support synchronization through FireWire because they don't have the hardware component to include this. The component was dropped in part because syncing your entire iTunes library normally only needs to be done once unless the iPod is restored, and it will take longer for the iPod to fully charge than it will take to complete the synchronization through USB, and partially to make the iPod slightly smaller and save money. The time difference needed for subsequent synchronizations isn't nearly as noticeable.

  • I have a 3rd generation ipod nano. I upgraded to lion. I tried to buy an audio book and download it to my nano like I have done at least 50 times before. Now the dialog box states that I need an ipod touch for the same function. MacBook Pro 2008 w/ m.trac

I have a 3rd generation ipod nano. I recently upgraded to Lion which is causing lots of issues. Aside from that, I went to the Itunes store to purchase books like I have done at least 100 times before with no problems. Now I can by the book and get it to my computer, however when I tried to download the book to my 3rd generation ipod the dialog box informed me that to download any new audiobook purchases I would need an ipod touch. My ipod nano 3rd generation serves my purposes just fine. Why should I be forced to buy something I do not want just to continue something I have always done seamlessly? I know this is more of a rant than a question but I am sure someone else out there has had this happen to them. Maybe you could share your thoughts on how to work around this issue if possible?

I forgot to add the last obvious and crucial step I had taken - plugging a different iPod into my system. It was also not recognized. That was the final proof I needed to determine if the problem was device or system. But now what?
I truly appreciate any help I can get!
    Thanks again...

  • Purchased books from iTune store and downloaded it.  Now, when I try to send it to my iPod nano, I get an error message saying the title cannot be found.  I cannot find a screen that offers an option to re-download.  What gives?

I purchased a box set of books on iTunes, and downloaded them.  The title shows up in the "purchased" section, but when I try to send it to my iPod nano, I get an error message telling me it cannot be moved because it cannot be found.  I can't find a screen anywhere offering the option to re-download either.  I've paid for the books, but cannot access them!  Every time I upgrade iTunes, it gets more confusing and harder to use.

Also I now can`t access any of my itunes library and am concerned that if I remove it from my computer I will lose everything as I have no option of accessing and therefore backing anything up. Any ideas?

  • HOW DO I ADD BOOKS TO MY IPOD NANO?  I PURCHASED SOME AND CAN'T GET THEM ON MY NANO

How do I add books that I have purchased to my Ipod nano?

These are audiobooks correct?  If so, see the page 22 of your iPod's User Guide for more information on syncing audiobooks to your Nano.

  • My local library uses a program called Overdrive Media Console to check out audiobooks.  MP3 type books go to music on my iPod Nano, but I am unable to delete them because I tunes doesn't display them as content. What should I do? I need the space.

According to my library, I can download MP3 audio books to my Ipod Nano.  The material is "checked out" to a program called Over Drive Media Console. and from there, it is transferred to my IPod.  the audio doesnt go to Audi Books, it goes to Music.  I want to delete some of the books I have listened to, but when I plug in the Ipod and open ITunes, the titles are not there.  The manual says to connect to itunes, and delete a "song or other material" but since I  did not use ITunes to get the
"song" to begin with, it isnt recognized.  How can I get these audioboks off my IPOD?  I am running out of space.  I tried connecting to Overdrive, but the software doesnt recognize the internal content.  It only sets it up for transfer.

The audio books do not display under the music sub-menu
And they shouldn't.  They should be under the Books submenu that is further down the list from the Music submenu you are referring to.

  • I have an ipod nano and use one click digital to download books from my library.  My nano says I have 2449 songs which is 65 books.  I have deleted all my playlists after I listen to the audiobook.

I have an ipod nano and use one click digital to download books from my library.  My nano says I have 2449 songs which is about 65 books.  I have deleted all my playlists after I listen to the audiobook.  Now I get a message saying I don't have enough room on my nano to transfer new books to it.  My nano is 16 GB and my operating system is Windows 7.

iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.

  • Address Book no longer syncs to iPod nano

I don't know whether this is an iTunes 10.5.2 problem or a Lion problem, but I recently found that iTunes is no longer syncing my address book to my 5G iPod nano. All I get is a zero-byte file with the current file creation time in the nano's Contacts folder. (I AM able to manually export a vcard file from my Address Book.app to the nano, and that is my current workaround.)
