You can't currently permanently delete any itemsfrom your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible : uhiding and unhiding (hiding doesn't work on iOS 6, but you should still be able to hide things on your computer's iTunes)

What's the best overall solution for managing books and eBooks?

I have a lot of eBooks (in .mobi and PDF format). I'd like to find a solution (software/system/scheme) such that
1) The actual content syncs to several devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) and can be read even when network is not present.
2) There is a searchable, convenient database of what books are there.
3) The database can be added to by barcode scanning the ISBN tag
4) Some entries in the database are linked to full content. That is, I'd enter books that I have in electronic format, but also books from my library that exist only in paper form.
I'm looking for a total solution to manage all my books - list them all, plus enable ready access to the content for the ones I have. I'd like to have it sync to several devices. What's the best system - anyone have it set up like this? What's the best reader, database app, and way to hang it all together (with iTunes?). Thanks in advance,

I am currently using WD 2TB Thunderbolt hard drive for my iTunes, which i love and is works great. i am connected directly to my Mac Book Pro. I am running low on Memory and thinking of buying a bigger Hard drive. My question is should I buy 6TB thunderbolt HD or 6TB NAS drive to work solely for iTunes. I have home sharing enabled for my Apple TV
I also have my time capsule connected just as back up only.

download a copy of the Tool Release Development Guide from Oracle; this is the official manual.
Some companies sell training and books on JDE (ex. www.jdetips.com), but start to read the guide and the go on.
If you need in depth knowledge about api search for 898jdeapis file on My Oracle Support.

Are these DRM books, or DRM-free. If DRM-free, use the free and far superior Calibre ( http://calibre-ebook.com/)
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Syncing Books - Want eBooks Only On iPad

Pictures that I've downloaded to my iPad are only on my iPad. And I like it that way. I've unchecked the Sync Photos option.
I'd like that same principle to apply to my eBooks. I downloaded a few, and unchecked the Sync Books option...but the books still transfer to my computer! And if I delete it from the computer, it deletes it from the iPad. Please help!

That's to sync from the computer to the iPad when you uncheck the sync option. The ebook needs to be on the computer. If you remove the ebook from the computer your telling iTunes you wish to remove it from the iPad too.

Palm 755P and audio book and ebooks

How can I download audio books onto my treo 755p so I can listen to books? Also, to read books on my treo-- i downloader the ereader... is this the same as Adobe pdf reader? My library has books in this adobe format that I can download, which I would like to take advantage of.. Thanks for you knowledge!

Are you talking about converting audio books that you already own on CD or are you talking about purchaing audio books in .mp3 format? If you are looking to purchase audio books in .mp3 format, you will want to check out Audible.com. If you want to convert ebooks you already own, I would use either iTunes or Windows Media Player to convert the audio CDs into .mp3 files, and then copy the .mp3 files to a miniSD card using a card reader connected to your computer.
With regard to ebooks, check with your local library to see if the books are encrypted with Digital Rights Management (DRM) software. If they are, you will need an ebook reader specifically designed to work with the type of DRM on the ebook. If the ebooks are protected Acrobat files, I don't think that there is a reader that will allow you to read them on a Palm OS device.
I use eReader Pro (now free) from eReader.com. I have also purchased a number of ebooks from both eReader.com and Fictionwise.com. If you like reading ebooks, and buy them, you will want to sign up for the eReader newsletter as there is often a discount code you can use when purchasing books. (eReader.com is now owned and operated by Fictionwise.)

EBooks book will not close, I have opened my first book (as a pdf) and it will not close. Not sure what to do.

I have iPad Model MC916ZP/A with version 6.1.3
I have started to download ebooks in a pdf format, which I sync from my PC (via iTunes). This has been successful and initially I could see all the books in eBooks bookshelf. I opened one, skipped through it and wanted to browse another but found I could not get out of that book. I can actually close the program eBooks, but when I open it back up again it returns to the same place on the same book with no option to close at either end of the book.
I have synched a new pdf ebook which shows it has been transferred to the iPad but made no difference to being able to close that book.
I only installed the new version yesterday before beginning to sync books.
Perhaps some file is missing?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Any way of seperating eBooks from audio Books in "Books" library?

I have over 2000 items in my "Books" library in iTunes as I like to listen to audio books as well as read eBooks on my iDevice. I can sort by Author, Album, etc. but nothing keeps the eBooks seperated from the audio books. Granted, the eBooks have an icon of a little book all the way at the end of the column but that means you have to scroll through all the items in there to find eBooks or audio books depending on which you want.
Does anyone know of a way to group all eBooks together and all audibooks together in the "List View" or "Album List" in the Library?

I do create playlist when I am syncing various books/authors (eBooks)or genres (audio). Problem is I have so many various playlists now and also that you can't permanently delete books from the library from the Playlists. Hence I do most of my manipulation in the "Library" views.
Suggested to Apple that they create a seperate "eBook" tab for the "Library" view.

How do I delete a book purchased for ebooks through Apple iTunes

My son took my ipad on vacation and purchased inappropriate books for ebooks through Apple itunes, these books need to be removed, ASAP. How do I remove these books? When I open my apple account they do not show up, when it open the ebooks account they are there. Gotta get them removed. I contacted book bud & ebooks, both told me I needed to contact the download engine....since I'm usually asked for iTunes password and/or apple password is why I'm asking. Could somebody please help me. Thank you.

If they are ibooks purchased from the iTunes ibookstore then though purchases are considered final you can try the 'report a problem' link on the account's purchase history to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Aside from being upset about my ipad being stolen! i have purchased a lot of books through ebooks.i would like to know how can i get them through itunes. Any suggestions?

I have been looking around online for information on how (or even if it's possible) to set up book on InDesign that is suitable for producing a print-ready PDF and also being suitable for producing epub and/or mobi files for submission to Amazon, etc.
So my first question is whether or not it's technically possible (and efficient) to do that. I thought it would be great to have each book (with all its subdocuments) set up once, and from that I can produce the PDF I sent to the printers, and also product ebook files.
If it is possible, can anyone point me in the right direction for instruction (i.e. best practices, steps, etc.) for this?
So far what I am turning up online is info on how to set up a book for ebook product OR the usual info on how to set up books for print production. But I've not yet found anything that covers doing both at once.

This is not an easy task, but if you plan beforehand, I think it's feasible to mantain a "master" file, both for print and ePUB. It really depends on the complexity of your layout. For already laid out docs, this could be a real problem.
Nonetheless, it's not a very efficient/scalable approach at all. There's no escape from heavily editing the ePUB XHTML code (and images) after export. Kindle files are another story, but you can generate them from your finished ePUB – with more code editing, of course.

Problems when opening an ebook in Preview with Macbook Pro

Hello,
My issue is with the application "preview" that comes with the Macbook Pro. Recently (3-4 months), whenever I open a text book or ebook within preview and after I highly 2-3 things it will save the changes for those highlights. The problem here is that a tab will pop up saying "Saving 3 highlight documents" etc. and it will show a loading bar and that load bar takes longer than it should to save the changes. It use to just take a few seconds and lately it has been taking so long and while it is saving the changes I cant close, minimize, or scroll thoughout the preview application. Also, 80% of the time my whole laptop will freeze and then turn black and than after about 5-15 minutes it comes back like nothing happened.
Anyone else having this issue? And if so, did you manage to find a way to fix it some how?

I have 2 questions. The first one is as you know before, I would like to learn all secrets behind explain plan and how how oracle works behind the scenery. I have researched some books. I found Oracle SQL Tuning: A Close Look at Explain Plans by Dan Hotka. Do you recommend this book? I have just read one page of this books, I thnik the language of this book is simple and it explains the situation from the beginning. I think, it is usefull for beginners like me. Because the things become hard to learn in first time for beginners. As a result I just would like to learn that do you recommend this book?
My second question is, I want to buy this book but I couldn't find in England (as paperback, not e book). But, appereantly I have to buy it online as ebook. Do you know any trusted web site that I can buy this book's ebook version?
