Boop sound instead of starting up.

My computer was having trouble starting up but if I turned it off and on a few times it would start up. I replaced the internal battery and this resolved the issue, or so I thought. When the computer would not start up all fans would turn on the the key board would light up but i would have a blank black screen.I tried to reset the pram but now I do not even hear the os start up sound I just hear a boop. The computer lights up and all the fans turn on yet the keyboard does not light up... Since the hard drive is brand new I am assuming that it is a hardware issue... CPU? Video card? What? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Will it boot from your system install CD/DVD if you depress the c key at startup?
Try *Resetting the Logic Board*
Resetting the logic board can resolve many system problems. Whenever you have a
unit that fails to power up, you should follow this procedure
before replacing any modules.
1 Unplug the computer.
2 Press the Power On button on the front of the unit.
3 Open the side access panel.
4 Remove the battery from the logic board.
5 Wait at least 10 minutes before replacing the battery.
6 Make sure the battery is installed in the correct +/-
direction.
7 Reassemble the computer and test the unit.
Note:
This procedure resets the computer’s PRAM. Be sure to
check the computer’s time/date and other system parameter settings

Can I use a Bluetooth headphone/microphone for capture sound instead of normal iPhone mic when shooting video?
The sound when I record video is not so good, so I'm trying to use the Bluetooth headphone/microphone to capture a person voice but not know which setting to use.

    Hi Robert
Thanks for answering. I didn't know where to post other than the bluetooth forum which is relatively quiet and had no answers forthcoming.
Yes the voice isn't reaching the amp although it is registering on the input bar in the Sound System Prefs, just won't "play through" as it were. I can't see how it could be done I was just hoping someone might see something I am missing.
It seems a shame that you can't do it as iTunes on an old iBook makes a good juke box for DJ'ing and with everything becoming wireless these days it seems sensible that you could cut that one last wire.

When pulling down a long pulldown menu, the menu, instead of starting a new row, will extend past the bottom and behind the browser so that I can't navigate to an item that's below/behind the screen. FF should be making a second row for these long pulldown menus, right?

Nope, there is no second row. There should be a scroll arrow "button" at the bottom and the top of that drop-down to allow you scroll, or you can use the scroll wheel on the mouse scroll further down (or back up).

  • SB Live! 24-bit external: Crackling sound at the start of au

I installed the SB Li've! 24-bit External audio device using the instructions provided, and I ran the automatic update program after installation had finished.
Then I connected my Creative Megaworks THX 2. 250D speaker system to the S/PDIF connector at the back of the SB Li've!.
Now the problem is that when ever any audio playback starts, regardless of the source(games, music, windows media player, youtube), I hear a crackling/popping sound at the start of the playback. The playback it self is clean and sounds very good, but as soon as it ends and I start another audio playback I hear that crackling/popping sound again at the start of the playback.
    What's wrong ?

    Hi Jupiter,
unfortunately we saw this message only today.
The crackles you are getting happen because the original library was developed by Project SAM using a set of samples, and then at the last minute they swapped the sample files with a different set of files without updating the instruments for the changed files.
There are several commercial libraries that unfortunately have this problem, and Project SAM is a known one.
Normally you do not see this problem in Logic, as Logic can see and fix the problem itself silently without teling you anything. When you relink your library with ExsManager, however, Logic thinks the instrument is already ok and will not fix the problem itself.
ExsManager by default will not fix this problem either, because we want the user to be in charge of what is done to his library (i.e. we do not want "magic" to be performed).
It's not a big problem anyway, and you can use ExsManager to fix this:
    -start ExsManager
    -switch to the advanced mode
-click the "Reset settings" button to start from safe settings
-set SampleDir and InstDir as you you need for your library (should already be set as last time you used it)
-switch to the "Options>References page and enable the "Check and fix sample format inconsistencies in instruments" and "Force refresh for all references"
    -click "Analyze"
    -click "Process"
    ... and that's it.
You do not have to do this every time: once the instruments are fixed you can relink as usual.

  • Exs24 crackling sound at the start of each sample

    Hi
I just installed project sams true strike 1 and 2 on the exs 24 sampler on Logic Pro 8.0.2.
My problem is that every time i play a note on the keyboard there is always a popping/crackling sound at the start (attack) of the note. When i go and listen to the sample in the sample editor there is no such pop/click sound.
Is there a way to solve this problem?
I would be thankful for any advice or assumptions!

  • Why do I get an interminable siren sound when I start FF?

I'm using FF 3.6.3. I get an interminable siren sound when FF Starts. I can't get it to stop unless I go to Control Panel and turn sound to MUTE. This is unacceptable behavior for FF. Is there anything I can do to get it to stop?

  • 5.1 sound instead of stereo

My camera (Sony HDR-SR11) records the sound in normal stereo.
Also my prroject is regarded to be in stereo.
However when I import my footage, 5.1 tracks are created.
The properties of my clips are on the attachment.
I should do something wrong, but I can't discover what.
Where am I supposed to make a mistake?
    Rob

Hi, Harm.  You helped me once before and I'd like to ask if you could help me again.   I have two concerns:
    1) I did an interview on video not long ago, using a Sony PD 150 camcorder.  When it came to edit the video footage and I imported it into CS4, I found that the sound was a little low.  I couldn't increase the volume enough the usual way (by raising that little line on the sound track in the timeline) and was wondering if there was another way to do that.
    2) I checked the inteview footage the other day and found that, whereas the video is OK, the sound has disappeared completely!  The line on the soundtrack in the timeline, the one that is usually squiggly with the sine wave, is now completely flat.  Do you know how or why that happened and is there any way to get the sound back?
    Many thanks!

It should not be a problem, only optically, but you can try to just delete the 5.1 tracks.

  • Clicking sound and wont start up

My computer is making a really loud clicking sound when I start up and now it wont stat up at all? What should I do? Are all my files gone?

It is hard to say - the clicking could be the
harddisk. Does your iBook boot at all? (i.e. do you
see the grey apple logo, or a blinking 'folder', or
just a black screen before it powers down... ?).
If possible, try the Hardware check CD that came with
your iBook - it should boot from the CD-Rom: Insert
the CD and hold down the 'C' key while your computer
    boots...
I did boot up with my Hardware check CD but I couldnt choose my hard drive to run the test.
I've read not to keep trying that I could do more damage....not sure how to proceed or if I should try again booting from the CD (while holding down the C key.
At this point I need a folder of info from my desktop and thats my number one priority.
I am wondering if I should send it out to a data recovery service as I dont want to cause fatal damage to my files.

  • Flash Player 11.6 r602 annoying boop sound

Flash Player is giving off a "booping" sound every 6 to 10 seconds it's utterly annoying. I already tried a reinstallation but to no avail. What could that be and how do i shut it off?
The Volume Meter in Windows 7 Ultimate x64 shows it as Flash Player 11.6 r602 and i have the latest version installed.
I'm using Firefox v20.0 x64 If there's any additional information that is needed i will try to provide it.
I have no idea what's causing it to do this sound and recording it would be a pretty hefty piece of work i think^^ so please bear with it...

  • Dratted Beep Boop sound

I am a newbie at this build your own PC thing, and would appreciate advice from you experts.  I bought an ANTEC Sonata case and I believe that the power supply it comes with is rated 380 watts. I installed a K7N2G-IL board, with an AMD Athlon XP2500 processor, 333 FSB, Barton Core, It has 512 MB, DDR Ultra memory, 400 Mhz single channel for now. Installed a single CDRW/DVD Combo drive, and am just using the onboard sound and video for now. Much to my  delight when I booted it up everything came on and seems to work great. I will add to video and sound cards and memory later, that's part of the fun of build your own.  Here's the problem:  The periodic beep/ boop sound from the PC speaker is driving me nuts.  The BIOS is Phoenix Award version 3.5.  After reading some of you FAQ's I have gone in and turned off (disabled ) the warning Beep in the BIOS. It reports the CPU temp as 37 deg. C; System Temp as 35 deg. C; voltages seem resonable at:  +12 V = 11.67; - 12 V = - 11.95; + 5 V = 4.94; and - 5 V = -4.94.  I could not find a seperate place in the BIOS to turn off what is referred to as "case intrusion?".  What can I do to stop the infernal beeps, short of disconnecting the case speaker?
I double checked after reboot, and the warning beep option remained disabled.  Any and all helpful hints are appreciated.
    BobB

    Thanks for your responses,
I wouldn't call it a chirp,  it's a solid single frequency tone for several seconds, followed by a second different solid frequency for several seconds.  The two tones do not repeat, and will not be heard for maybe 15 or 20 minutes.
Come to think of it, I have not heard the tones while I was in the BIOS, or when booting,  only while in windows.  But they are definatlely coming from the PC speaker, and not fromthe windows speakers at the other end of the desk.
The Antec case has two keyed latches, but I don't remember seeing any wires going to them. I think they are stricktly mechanical. When I get home from work tonight I'll read throuugh the manual to see if I can find mention of intrusion detection, but I don't remember seeing it when I was putting things together.
    Thanks again.

  • Asha 210 produces headset-quality sound instead of...

The phone, Asha 210, thinks that my earphones is a headphones, and it even show the symbol of a headphone without a headset attachment on the home page of the phone, but it still produces the sound similar to a headset. Without changing it, the earphones will produce sounds at a lower volume and without any bass.
In my opinion, there may be two possible causes to this. First, the phone thinks that the earphones is a headphone but it produces a headset-quality sound instead. The other, which is more reasonable, is that the earphone with headset capability is not compatible with the phone.
Of course, I have tried to search the button to change it but there is not any on the phone. The only way to solve it is to hold down the headset button on the earphones or tape it, but that would not do justice to the problem with the phone and its audio system.
Is it because that Asha 210 is not compatible with headsets? Or is there a button to change what the phone identifies the earphones as (from headset to headphones, despite saying that it already identifies it as headphones)?
Update: I rewrote my question again as it is very misleading. I did not delete this so that others will know what the answer may be. The other thing is that I think I may have thought that the enchancement option is available for the Asha 210; it turns out to be an option for the E63 model. As for the Asha 210, I am quite certain that there is no option to manually change in between function for headset or headphones on the phone. Thanks for reading.

Intel OS X 10.7 iMac has white screen and three-alarm sound, won't start up

The 3 beeps during start-up are telling you that the RAM is bad.
If you can access the RAM modules, you may try taking them out and putting them back in, perhaps it's only bad contacts.
If that doesn't help, you'll need new RAM module(s).

  • Freeze plus high pitch sound during win7 start up

    Hi,
I have a problem with my new W520.
During win7 start up, my computer often freezes, and when it does so, a high pitch sound sets in.
After turning off the computer and trying again a couple of times (often 4-5) it suddenly works again.
I think it is a temperature problem that makes the computer mess up during start up when it is not warm enough.
I took the computer with me on a small vacation to south east Asia where the temperature is generally higher than here in Denmark, and during my vacation I had no problems at all.
Is there anyone who can help me with suggestions to what the problem might be?

Does it freeze and shutdown or just freeze?
Can you try booting without the AC adapter attached?
