Boot Camp 3.3 fail to install on my iMac

Hi,
My iMac is running with Windows 7 Pro x64 wit Boot Camp 3.2. When I try to install Boot Camp 3.3 with Apple Software Update it ask me to reboot and I still have Boot Camp 3.2 running on my machine.
If I download Boot Camp 3.3 and execute it manually, it give me an error message : Fail to install Boot Camp Services (or something like that, as it is in french)
I used to have issue to install Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.2 where the only option to setup it that I find in this forum was to extract the setup files and run manually the BootCampUpdate64 file. Unfortunatly I cannot do that anymore with 3.3 as it is in a package that I cant extract.
Any idea on how I can fix that ?
Thanks.

Have you found a solution yet? I'm still searching for one. No additional drivers and no VNC installed. Thought it might Splashtop Streamer, but it doesn't install an additional driver like LogMeIn does. Also tried removing Sata and USB PCIe cards. Still no luck. In a last ditch effort I tried to uninstall Boot Camp Services completely which also failed.

The BC Service is installed for any individual login (whether local or domain-based), which happens only the first time. The BC Driver Installer has no option to install the services for 'All Users'. This is expected behavior.

Boot Camp doesn't install the drivers. You have the drivers on a separate USB device if you followed directions. Once in Windows connect the USB drive with the driver software. It should startup automatically and install the drivers.
You don't even need to do that. As downloading the drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant can be unreliable, it is better to get the package directly from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638
Copy the .zip file to a USB flash drive or burn it to a DVD in OS X. Install Windows as normal, insert the flash drive/DVD in Windows, copy the .zip file to the hard drive, extract it, then run the setup executable.

cox i want to use rEFIt to boot up my pendrive to install windows.
Due to some reason the boot camp 4.0.1 cannnot detect my usb drive (that contained windows 7), so thats why i use the rEFIt to boot from my usb drive

    Yes, you can.
Let the BootCamp Assistant just make the partition and do not click on "Install Windows"-button.
The result is a preformatted FAT32-partition on your Mac.

    2. Upgraded from 1.4 to 2.0 (with errors for Touchpad and remote) and then to 2.1
And then "The installer encountered errors before boot camp could be configured" has showed up...

And did any of You find a workaroud it ?

  • Trying to get Windows back after Boot Camp repartition + Ubuntu 14.04LTS install + rEFIt install...

    Hello, Boot Camp troubleshooter folks.
Again I come to you with a variation of the same refrain so many others have said. I haven't quite found my exact version of it, so here's mine:
I'm taking an online class that required me to make a third partition for Ubuntu. I'm running a MacBook Pro(6,2) from Mid-2010, running OS X 10.9.5. (Although I'm currently downloading upgrade to Yosemite as we speak. I figured, hey, if my MBR's already messed up, upgrading to Yosemite's not gonna make it any worse.)
I've got a 500GB HDD. It's had 100GB sliced off for Windows 7 Professional x64 for about two years. This was done by following the prompts in Boot Camp Assistant as directed.
Then, a few weeks ago, I ignored the warnings by Disk Utility and sliced off another 15GB off of my remaining 400GB for OS X into the smallest reasonable slice I could set aside for working in Ubuntu. On top of this, I also added the program "rEFIt." So, now, when I boot up my computer, by default, rEFIt comes up and shows me three different icons for getting into Linux, an icon for getting into OS X, an icon for getting into Windows, and an icon for getting into the OS X Recovery Disk.
Ubuntu and OS X work fine. If I select "Windows," I get that "No operating system found" for whatever it says prompt, and I can't do anything.
If I try to do the standard Boot Camp operation (holding down Option when I restart), I see the same list of options I saw before I installed Ubuntu, except again Windows doesn't work.
It seems as though I've shot myself in the foot by my order of operations, since I can't delete either partition in Disk Utility now, I'm guessing because there are too many sectors in the mind of OS X looking at the MBR. So, while Ubuntu and OS X work, I've got a 100GB brick where a functional Windows installation used to be.
The NTFS drive is still listed on my Desktop in OS X, too. All of the files are intact. But squeezing that Ubuntu partition between the OS X and Windows ones has created too many sectors, and I think I need to do that hybrid MBR business.
Here are my results per Loner T's standard instructions:

Now, since this computer's a Mid-2010, there's definitely a new MacBook Pro purchase in my future within the next 1-2 years. I will not make this same mistake again: On the next machine (assuming no inevitable issues with the Apple hybrid drive), I'll do the current OS X version, a sizeable partition done with Boot Camp of Windows 10, and then VirtualBox running Ubuntu. None of this triple partition cr

Well I was lucky enough to get an appointment to see someone at my "local" (40 minutes away) Apple store today. He said there were Windows and Mac files on the same partition. It was a mess...

  • Boot Camp 2.1 will not install in Windows 7 beta 1

I have installed the 32-bit Windows 7 beta 1 on my MacBook using Boot Camp 2.0. I cannot for the life of me get the 2.1 update installed. After downloading in Windows, I run the setup and it asks me if it's okay to allow that file to make changes to my system. I agree but it stops there. Nothing happens. I made sure that I downloaded the 32-bit version for Vista and still nothing. Do I need to create a disc?

I figured that because Boot Camp is only compatible for XP and Vista, yet I was able to install Windows 7 just fine, that the boot camp update would follow suit. My thought is that 7 is using a very similar build to Vista in that the difference is so slight in the build that Boot Camp thinks that it is Vista. I have heard success stories of Windows 7 in Boot Camp 2.1

  • Boot Camp Windows 7 fails to restart/shut down properly

    Hey everyone,
I'm having a huge issue right now with Boot Camp. I don't know what the root of my problem is or what is influencing it, but I'm at the end of my patience because I've already removed AND repartitioned my 15'' MacBook Pro Retina's hard drive more than 3 times using the Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 7 Professional.
So this is my scenario in a nutshell...after partitioning my drive and installing Windows 7 Professional using Boot Camp, I boot into Windows and am installing all the software and updates that I want so that I can have a clean Windows image than I can work and restore from (using Winclone 3) in the event I have to migrate or reinstall my entire Mac OS X operating system. Hopefully what I'm trying to do sounds very simple.
My problem...after a certain point of installing a ridiculous amount of Windows updates (or a certain 3rd party software maybe), when I select to restart or shut down WIndows, it will go to the pre-shut down/restart screen (you know, the Windows login screen), do all its prelimary stuff, show the "Shutting Down" status and then IT WILL NOT SHUT DOWN! It will just stay on that screen forever! I verified this because I left it on overnight and when I awoke the next morning, it was STILL there!
Does anyone have any ideas?! I'm going crazy because I reinstalled Windows like 3 friggin' times and it takes a LONG time (as you know) to get and update everything. Sorry if I said any mean words, but I am very frustrated and out of patience for this.
Thank you guys for any input/help with this.
P.S. After creating a Boot Camp partition and installing Windows, should I be seeing the Windows partition as a startup disk candidate on the Startup Disk list under System Preferences on OS X?

There is a BootCamp specific forum, you may get the experts over there.

  • Boot Camp will not let me install Windows via external hard drive

    Hi,
I'm having problems installing Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I have the iso file on my external hard dirve and have went to Boot Camp but the following message comes up:
"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
At one point i just clicked OK and let Boot Camp install the selected tasks, which formated the disk, copied the Windows files and downloaded the Windows support software but another message came up:
"Install this Windows support software after installing Windows"
It then only gives me an option to Quit...
I would like to add that i tried to install Windows a few days ago and everything was working well up until instead of clicking on "customize" to continue the installation i clicked on "upgrade" then it asked me to remove disk and reboot the computer, i did that and it didn't work. Luckily i got that sorted but wanted to try and install Windows again as it didn't end up getting it installed and this is what is happening now...
Can someone suggest to me what might be wrong?
    Thanks in advance.
