I had Boot Camp 4.0 and wanted to upgrade due to wireless performance.
I attempted to uninstall it via Program and Features (appwiz.cpl), it wasn't listed under Boot Camp Services like I expected it to be
I uninstalled it via: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
I no loner have the icon in my system tray
I still have the icon in Control Panel that opens up an error "Application not Found" when clicked on
When I try to run the 5.0 Installer I get the following error:
Eventlog Information:
ID: 11708
Product: Boot Camp Services -- Installation failed.
ID: 1033
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Boot Camp Services. Product Version: 5.0.5033. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Apple Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1603.
I don't have the option to reinstall at the moment so I'm trying to get this working without that.
No windows firewall on as well.

A reboot ended up fixing it and getting it up and running.

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • Unable to fully uninstall older firefox version to install new version.

When installing new version of firefox, I receive the instruction that I should re-boot to complete removal of previous version. After doing this, I continue to receive the same instruction when I try to install again.

I am new to these forums and hope this is posted in the right one. If not, could someone direct me?
I am having a ton of problems with 5.1. I installed it last Friday (without removing the previous version) and nothing is working properly. It took me 2 days to figure out a way to delete it (uninstaller would not work). To begin with, iTunes would simply not open. I double click on the icon and nothing. Tried to re-install and same problem. Found a copy of 4.9 and installed it, but got error message stating "QuickTime failed ti initialize - Error #2095. Please make sure QuickTime is properly installed. Uninstalled iTunes again and tried to uninstall QuickTime so I could start from scratch. When I run Add/Delete programs, QuickTime does not appear. However, when I run search, it lists a freaking 433 files associated with QuickTime.
Can someone tell me a simple way to erase iTunes completely from my computer? If I can do this, I will simply reinstall the original iTunes I got with my mini and not worry about updating. I don't care about the podcasts -- I just want to be able to get back to the beginning so I can import tunes to my mini. Sorry for this being so long, but I am at my wit's end dealing with this. Thanks.

  • HT5639 Do I need to uninstall boot camp 4 before I install and update to boot camp 5. I already have windows 8 pro with boot camp 4 installed. Do I need to unistall boot camp 4 or not necessary?

I already have windows 8 pro with boot camp 4 installed on my macair book 11". I have searched the entire articles on how to upgrade boot camp 4 to boot camp 5 but have found no answer as to my question: Do you have to uninstall boot camp 4 drivers before you install boot camp 5? I am not sure if it is ok to install boot camp 5 directly without uninstalling boot camp 4 because there might be driver version conflict. So I have not installed boot camp 5. Is it ok to install boot camp 5 withoust uninstalling boot camp 4? Your answers will be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You don't have to uninstall Boot Camp 4 drivers before installing Boot Camp 5 drivers. Boot Camp 5 drivers will simply overwrite Boot Camp 4 drivers, so you don't have to uninstall old drivers before installing new ones and making that process easier

  • How to uninstall boot camp partition?

How to uninstall boot camp partition?

Use the Boot Camp Assistant and follow the menus to remove an existing Boot Camp partition and return your computer to only OSx. Adding or removing a boot Camp partition is performed using Boot Camp Assistant.

  • Uninstalling Boot Camp Beta: is it dangerous?

    Hi,
I installed Boot Camp on my MacBook some time ago, so that I could use both Win and Mac... Now I don't need to use Win anymore, so I would like to uninstall Boot Camp to free up some space.
I don't care about the Win files, so I can lose them all, but I'm worried about my Mac files: am I going to lose them if I uninstall Boot Camp? Is there any danger or such?
    Please let me know asap!

Re-partitioning a hard drive is always a potentially problematic operation. If you used the Boot Camp Assistant to create the Window's partition, then you can use the Assistant to remove the partition and recover the space. Theoretically this should not cause any loss of data. However, it would be wise to backup your OS X partition just in case. Always better to be safe than sorry.

  • Trouble uninstalling Boot Camp

A few weeks ago, I installed Boot Camp which partitioned my drive accordingly.
I then tried to follow the steps I derived from 2 different forums to create a Windows XP boot disk from my Virtual PC disks.
I could not get this to work, so I never installed Windows.
Since then, I decided to use Parallels instead of Boot Camp. I bit the bullet and purchased both Parallels and Windows (XP Pro w/SP2 on OEM disks for $135.)
Now I'm trying to uninstall Boot Camp and running into a problem, I think.
I opened Boot Camp Assistant and selected "Restore" to remove the Windows partition and restore my hard drive to a single-partition Mac OS X volume.
I then see a swirling blue & white "peppermint" stick a cross the bottom below a line that reads: "Status: Partitioning disk...."
All seems right, except that this lasted for 20 hours with no change.
Every few hours, when I'd notice it still "running" I'd check the "Force Quit Applications" window, expecting to see Boot Camp Assistant listed as "Not Responding." Not so...seems to be an app running normally. So I thought, 'maybe it really does take this long,' and I let it go.
Checking back this morning, still no change, checked out a few forums, and I don't see this issue mentioned anywhere. In fact, one contributer made a comment to the effect that he was "surprised how quickly Boot Camp Assistant performed this task" (I wonder if he was being sarcastic? Hmmm)
So I decided to quit out of BC Assistant, relaunched the program, and selected "Restore" again. I now have my horizontal blue and white swirling "barber pole" back (what is that called?), the Status is "partitioning disk", and I'm wonder how long this is supposed to take.
Can anybody help me with this?

The restore should not take long. You've definitely got something amiss. Use Utilities>DiskUtility to look at your hard drive. How many volumes are shown, and what are they labeled?

By accident I uninstalled Boot Camp service tool in windows XP and i can't seem to find a way to re-install it.
I can still boot in windows XP and removing this tool did not corrupted the boot camp partition in windows but i am wondering if this toll can be re-installed without having to re-install boot camp.

  • Uninstalling Boot Camp on OS 10.5.7

I have Windows installed on a separate drive that is untitled. When I tried to uninstall Boot Camp - and asked what I wanted to do - "restore to a single MAC OS partition" was not a choice. Only allowing me to "erase disk and create a single windows partition"
Assume I want to do that and when done reformat the hard drive for the MAC PRO????
    Thanks for your assistance!

The Boot Camp Assistant will remain on your computer, but can be deleted manually if you really want to do so. All the other components will be erased; if the computer was set to start up into Windows, change it from the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.

  • Windows 7 won't fully boot after recovery to out-of-box state

I have reinstalled Windows 7 by holding down the 0 key on boot. The installation finished, but when windows booted into the setup screen for the first time, it crashed halfway through the driver installation process. When the laptop rebooted, it went into setup and showed an error message, asking me to restart the computer and the installation. I have re-installed windows again by using the recovery media and by using the 0 key on boot/factory reset, but the setup will crash again and then ask me to re-install windows. I am using a Satellite c655, 4gb ram with a intel pentimum processor. Any help would be appreaciated!

Model Number: C655-S5543Part Number: PSC2EU-06D00L I decided to reset the laptop to factory settings because the laptop was getting slow, as this unit was given to me from a family member, with all of their programs and files still on the hard drive. The only things I have changed in the bios is the boot speed to fast,  and turned off the beep sound.  The First time I turned on the laptop after it completed the recovery/factory reset, it loads a toshiba recovery window, but  it then restarts. When it restarts,  the black screen with the windows logo animation appears. It then goes into another black screen but with the letters "Setup is starting services", with a white loading bar underneath. It then started loading the drivers, but then came up with a bsod screen when the setup was around 47% done loading the drivers. I can't remember what the bsod screen said. Now when I turn on the laptop, the black screen with the windows logo animation appears again. It then goes into the same setup screen but with a dialog window that appears and says "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the comptuer, and then restart the installation."

  • Mac Pro 1.1 won't restart from boot HD or install DVD

I have a MacPro 1.1 quad which won't finish the restart sequence from Boot HD or the Install DVD. I also can't get the DVD to boot to anything but hardware test (D key), which I ran and passed. After reading lots of posts about similar problems, I was pretty sure that it is my ATI Radeon 1900 card gone bad killing the restart right after the Grey apple screen. Then, while trying everything I could think of and finally getting the OPTION key restart to get the Startup Manager, I noticed my old boot camp partition (VISTA) that I had played around with, but never used much. After several failed attempts to get the install DVD to boot, I tried the boot camp partition and to my amazement, after a pause, windows started up. (That's actually how I'm writing this now.)
I ran some tests on the graphics card from windows and it appears to be running fine, albeit a little hot.  So now the question: Can the graphics card still be the culprit when it performs ok on the Windows side?
Windows also says that the OSX boot partition of the same drive that boot camp is on can't be read (using MacDrive). But a Seagate HDD diag tool checked the drive and found no errors. I guess that could be part of my problem, but then why wouldn't it boot from the install DVD or in safe mode. I even tried putting the install DVD in my macbook and booting from there in Target mode, with no luck. Also, my install DVD is the original Leopard that came with the machine, but I had upgraded to 10.6.8 later. Would that cause the DVD not to work as a boot disc?  I just want to get to the Disk Utility so I can reinstall.
Any knowledge or help would be so appreciated!
    Thanks

I have a Mac Pro 1.1 and recently starting having issues. I was running out of drive space for my Vista drive I use Bootcamp. I decided to reinstall Vista on a bigger drive. I went through the normal procedure and had a **** of time installing Vista until I removed the main Lion SSD. Lion has Windows 7 drivers only. So I wanted to reinstall Snow Leopard on a blank drive and get those drivers.
Mac Pro will not read or mount the SL installation DVD. It mounted once and could barely read anything but at a slow rate. I cleaned the disk, but after that despite holding down not the C and D keys at boot up and using Option at boot up the SL kept getting spitted out. Tonight I took it apart and cleaned it with compressed air and vacuum cleaner. I popped the DVD again and it spit it out. I put a DVD movie and it mounted fine. I'm ripping it as we speak. I've done this before just want to see why it won't read SL.
Considered buying an external DVD write for $39 to see if I can get around this issue. Will post back on results. Otherwise this 2007 Mac Pro has been rock solid since then.

  • Boot Camp 3.3 fail to install on my iMac

    Hi,
My iMac is running with Windows 7 Pro x64 wit Boot Camp 3.2. When I try to install Boot Camp 3.3 with Apple Software Update it ask me to reboot and I still have Boot Camp 3.2 running on my machine.
If I download Boot Camp 3.3 and execute it manually, it give me an error message : Fail to install Boot Camp Services (or something like that, as it is in french)
I used to have issue to install Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.2 where the only option to setup it that I find in this forum was to extract the setup files and run manually the BootCampUpdate64 file. Unfortunatly I cannot do that anymore with 3.3 as it is in a package that I cant extract.
Any idea on how I can fix that ?
    Thanks.

Have you found a solution yet? I'm still searching for one. No additional drivers and no VNC installed. Thought it might Splashtop Streamer, but it doesn't install an additional driver like LogMeIn does. Also tried removing Sata and USB PCIe cards. Still no luck. In a last ditch effort I tried to uninstall Boot Camp Services completely which also failed.

  • After download and installation, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro all won't fully launch.

After download and installation, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro all won't fully launch. From the Windows icon pane, I click on the program, it opens the Sign In Required pane, I sign in, it opens the Thank You pane and reverts back to Sign In pane or never opens the program.
Acrobat also keeps giving me a popup to sign in, each time I look at a .pdf file.
I have tried uninstalling Acrobat and then redownloading. It didn't work.

  • App won't fully open to operate

Application opens, then a loading bar comes up and never stops... no text in the window so I have no idea what is trying to load.

My computer crashed and when it restarted, pages won't fully open. I get a window with a loading bar that just rolls. There is no text in it, so I have no idea what it is. I've tried trashing preferences, but that didn't work. I tried reinstalling without uninstalling and that didn't work. I think I really need to uninstall Pages, don't know how. I tried Yvan's script, but it didn't work... I get a syntax error.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • ITunes won't fully load - how to fix this?

iTunes won't fully load.  Uninstalling and re-installing does not repair this.  Can anyone help?

I don't know why this error occurs, unless you have attempted to downgrade iTunes.
This method should get you up and running again.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
