Boot Camp 5.1 not working with iMac late 2013 3 TB

I tried to use Boot Camp 5.1 on my new iMac with 3TB FD. I bought a Win 8.1 OEM DVD with key.
I followed the instructions of Boot Camp (deselcted the first step with ISO because I have the DVD). When it comes to the windows installation I can't select the BOOTCAMP partition because of the used GPT-style.
I thought this problem was fixed with OS X 10.9 and Boot Camp 5.1.
Do you have any ideas?

From MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) - Technical Specifications, you have a built-in Optical drive. Is it functional?
Storage
250GB or 320GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive; optional 320GB or 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive, or 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB solid-state drive6
8x slot-loading SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Maximum write: 8x DVD-R, DVD+R; 4x DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, DVD+RW; 24x CD-R; 10x CD-RW
Maximum read: 8x DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-ROM; 6x DVD-ROM (double layer DVD-9), DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, DVD+RW; 24x CD
You will need to burn a DVD using Disk Utility (Yosemite): Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD and use it for Windows installation. You will also need a USB2 flash disk for the BC drivers for it to work. Please ensure that the DVD is burnt at the recommend rate for the physical media and verify, otherwise you will end up with an unusable DVD.

  • Will Kingston KTA-MB1600/8G work with my late 2013 iMac

Will Kingston KTA-MB1600/8G work with my late 2013 iMac?

Maybe, maybe not. Macs are intolerant of RAM that does not meet Apple's stringent specifications.
    http://store.apple.com/us/mac/mac-accessories/memory
Other than Apple there are only two vendors with which I have personal experience and can recommend: Crucial and OWC. People have reported problems with many other brands, yet Crucial and OWC's prices are as good as any you are likely to find.
Go to Crucial and download the little app that examines your system and recommends RAM upgrade options.
Their prices are good but don't have to buy memory from them - determine what you need and buy it from Crucial or OWC / MacSales.

  • HT1899 Installed windows 8 through boot camp ,track pad not working

I installed windows 8 though boot camp , track pad not working

The update to boot camp is now available!
Just installed Windows 8.1 Pro to my MacBook Pro, Retina, Mid 2012, OS X 10.8.5: Memory 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
After going through the usual process from boot camp, then installed windows and the support drivers... the trackpad rt click did not work. I had to then go download the boot camp again from windows 8 using the url below and ran the set up.exe from the boot camp folder you can download from below. Run it within windows 8.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638
    Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033
This solved the Trackpad Right Clicking issue (not working) as well as tapping.
The wireless and network connectivity issues where resolved as well. The Boot camp support software enabled a boot camp control panel available in the windows 8 system tray and from there you can enable the track pad to tap and use the secondary click.

  • ICloud 2.1.1 not working with Microsoft Outlook 2013?

HI, I needed some assistance from the experts here.
I just had my laptop reformatted and redownload & installed the latest version of iCloud 2.1.1 Control Panel for Windows & Microsoft Office 2013.
When I click on the buttom "Apply" to setup outlook for iCloud, i got this error message at Step 4 of 7. It keeps refreshing these 2 sentences "Downloading Contacts from iCloud" & "Uploading Contacts to iCloud" & eventually errored out with this error message "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error".
I checked my Microsoft Outlook 2013 & there is an iCloud Plug-In.
But clicking on the "Go Online" button doesn't do anything.
I used to be able to click on a "Go Online/Refresh" button in the past (with Microsoft Office 2007) and able to then synchronise new contacts in my outlook to iphone. But apparently, this doesn't work anymore.
Thereafter, I tried uninstalling iCloud 2.1.1 and reinstalling it again immediately (without rebooting my laptop) & the same error message occurs when i tried to setup outlook for iCloud. And the worst thing is now the "iCloud plug-in" disappear inside Microsoft Outlook 2013 totally.
I tried reading several threads and got confused.
Is iCloud 2.1.1 Control Panel for Windows not compatible with Microsoft Outlook 2013 yet?
Do I just have to wait for a new release from Apple or did i do something wrong in the installation of the softwares?
Aprpreciate the assistance from some experts here.

Well it's now the 14th and no replies, so have you sorted it.
I could not get Outlook 2013 working with the control panel, although was working it was saying it was not configured.
Worse still tried going back to Outlook 2007 and it did not want to know, in the end a disk image restore was required.
I will try Outlook 2013 again in a few months maybe.

  • External Optical Drive not working with iMac

I have a memorex external drive that I have been using to install Windows 7 with boot camp and have successfully used it on 2 mac-mini's. I am not trying to install Windows 7 boot camp on an iMac that has a broken internal optical drive but the external will not run.
    I have tried:
    - Startup Utility: Can see the external in there.
    - External shows up on desktop with Windows 7
    - External shows up in disk utility
    - Windows shows up in startup menu with holding down Option.
I see iMac SSD Drive, Recovery HD Drive , Windows CD , EFI Boot cd as options.
If I select Windows it takes me to a black screen that says it doesnt see a boot CD clicking on EFI boot does nothing.
Anyone have any possible solutions into getting this to work?

Mac Minis without built-in Optical drives behave differently than iMacs with built-in drives for boot ability,
I am not trying to install Windows 7 boot camp on an iMac that has a broken internal optical drive but the external will not run.

This is confusing. If you have the external Optical Drive (Memorex) connected via USB to the iMac and insert a Windows 7+ DVD in it, the Apple Bootmanager will see OSX, Recovery HD, Windows (if already installed on the iMac's internal drive) and possibly Windows and EFI boot from the DVD.
The Windows and EFI Boot will not work if you try to boot the iMac from the external. Test this from the internal Optical drive as well. If your iMac is a UEFI Mac (2013+) it will let you boot from the DVD directly (without Bootcamp).
Bootcamp Assistant will refuse to let you use the external Optical drive, if you try use it to install Windows. BCA only works with internal Optical drives as far as Windows installation is concerned, on Macs that have a built-in optical drive. The exceptions to this rule are 2012 Macs and some 2011 models.

  • Boot camp - internal mic not working

I've spent hours reviewing various forums and have tried all suggestions I've found, to no avail. That said, I'll detail my steps here in the hope that someone can help, or that I can help someone else, or at least drive someone else nuts.
This is a 20" iMac (early 2008) running Snow Leopard + Window 7 Professional w/ Boot Camp 3.1 drivers (you know, the ones that fully support Windows 7).
By default (that is, without Boot Camp drivers installed), Windows recognizes a "High Definition Audio Device." Sound doesn't work, but the internal mic does work, as evidenced by the fact that speaking or tapping on the top of the computer results in movement of the green bars that appear in the Recording Devices dialogue.
After installing the Boot Camp drivers (or any more recent version of the Realtek drivers, including 2.41 that became available today), the "High Definition Audio Device" becomes "Realtek High Definition Audio." Sound works (poorly compared to OS X, but **** at least something comes out), but the microphone does not. In the Recording Devices dialogue, speaking, tapping, yelling, and swearing doesn't register per the green bars.
I've reviewed many a post, and have tried the following:
    1. Uninstalled the Realtek driver, leaving only the default Microsoft driver, reboot, updated to the Realtek driver by browsing to the files from Device Manager instead of running Setup, reboot. This installs the driver, doesn't install Realtek HD Audio Manager, sound = yes, mic = no. Crap.
    2. Uninstalled the Realtek driver, leaving only the default Microsoft driver, reboot, installed the Realtek driver by running Setup, reboot. Sound = yes, mic = no. Crap crap.
    3. Uninstalled the Realtek driver, leaving only the default Microsoft driver, reboot, installed the Realtek driver by running Setup as Administrator, reboot. Sound = yes, mic = no. Crap crappity crap.
    4. Uninstalled the Realtek driver, leaving only the default Microsoft driver, reboot, installed the Realtek driver by running Setup in Vista compatibility mode, reboot. Sound = yes, mic = no. Crap crappity crap crap.
So I'm certain both the microphone and speaker hardware work. The Microsoft driver gets me mic but no sound, and the Realtek driver gets me sound but no mic.
Any helpful thoughts and comments are MUCH appreciated, and for the love of God if you're going to jump in with "what are you doing running Windows 7 on a Mac anyways" please save it.
    Thanks!

  • RIGHT CLICK in Win 7 - Boot Camp 5.1 not working

first: Background: MacBook A1278 - fresh install of Yosemate, Then used Boot Camp 5.156 and installed W7 ultimate. A few things does not work right of the bat, but most important to me is the right click (I love it, can not live without it in Windows). Also there is not Boot Camp app in the Win Control Panel so can't do config of the trackpad and probably many other sittings. Note on the OS X side I enabled right click and working fine (almost like windows). So what I've done so far to fix it? Re- installed drivers for trackpad manually from BootCamp 5.1 no change. Also tried drivers from Boot Camp 4.... ( some other post suggested) no change either. In fact even the left click (trackpad) is not perfect. And again not in OS X the trackpad works fine there. In many instances I must click many times or there is a delay to take in effect of clicking. When a Mouse connected right click is fine. Any suggestions?

FYI - Froze with the modded nVidia driver 197.16. Happened when I moved a window. It's so random. Next day Windows Update notified me of a new graphics update (197.45) installed that but then froze randomly when I had Team Fortress 2 running in the main menu.
When it first happened I didnt get any errors in the Event Viewer.
Here's a few I recently got in the last freeze.
    HAL:

  • Boot Camp Vista Sound Not Working

Hi, I am using Boot Camp 3.1 with drivers installed from
Mac OS X Snow Leopard DVD & Apple Software Update.
I am booting to Windows Vista Home Premium on my
MacBook late '09 with upgraded 4gig ram, and Mac OS X 10.6.2.
However, my sound driver is not working on my Windows Vista,
the system tray icon shows a Red X on audio settings.
On Control Panel -> Device Manager, it shows a Yellow Exclaimation Mark
on sound driver Cirrus Logic CS4602 (AB 01).
I have tried reinstalling Realtek and Cirrus drivers from Mac OS X Install DVD,
and downloading the latest HD Audio Driver from realtek website,
    but nothing works.
It was working fine a while ago until I installed many Boot Camp updates
and windows vista updates. I don't know what caused the problem.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advanced.

  • How do i get my boot camp windows7 internetconnection to work with usbadapter

How do I get my internetconnection via usbadapter (twisted pair TP) to work on my Boot Camp windows7. I run OS LION. WiFi works good on both windows and Lion. On Lion does it also work good with the USBadaper to TP connection. I have the latest Brodacom driver installed on Windows7.

I do not know the answer myself, but I bet if you post in the boot camp forum, someone will be able to help you in a more timely manner.  https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp.  Good luck.

  • Lexmark P6250 scanner not working with iMac after recent software update, any ideas?

The scanner has always worked with the iMac but after a recent software update only the printer works now.  I have searched the apple communities boards and have downloaded a variety of drivers suggested but nothing has solved the issue.
When I load print and scan from system preferences, I select to open the scanner and the process just hangs.   I can see the scanner and am able to select to open but not able to scan.
Any ideas on how to resolve?

Unfortunately I have tried this and I have downloaded new drivers and restarted both the iMac and printer/scanner numerous times but I still only have the printer working.
I have tried to use preview via system preferences, print and scan and the when I select open scanner for preview the application hangs.  I have also tried to use image capture and there is an error when selecting the scanner device of "Lexmark Language Error".  When selecting overview within image capture I am advised that the size tryng to be scanned is too large when nothing has been selected and the default setting are standard size and then image capture hangs.
All features were working fine prior to conducting a software update about 8-10 weeks ago.  I have downloaded further software updates which I had hoped would sort this issue but it hasn't.

  • External speakers not working with iMac and Lion

I have a dual core imac with Lion and external speakers I just bought from Apple. I cannot get them to work with itunes or anything else on the imac. Can anyone tell me what to do? They work well with an ipod touch, but not the iMac.

Hmmm. I plugged the speakers into the headphone jack. they are  the Audyssey Lower East Side Media Speakers. When I hoty option on the menu bar, headphones are checked as output. When I go to system preferences and check output, all it says is "headphone port." Still no change.

  • Boot Camp Assistant does not work

I just installed leopard (clean install). When I start the boot camp assistant, I just get the error message that I need to upgrade the operating system..... anybody?

I have the same problem and i have searched EVERYWHERE for an answer to it. The only thing i know is that my firmware is not correct. It does not need to be updated it says but it clearly does if you ask me.
For me the Boot ROM Version is: MB11.0061.B02 and you need .B03 to use it. I have had this problem for ages when i tried to setup windows on ma mac using the Beta version of Boot Camp, when i was using Tiger. I was hoping when i bought Leopard this problem would have been solved but nope, nothing.
Is there anyway to go back to original firmware and then update it again? There must be a way!!! Or do we have to wait for the next firmware update from apple?
I upgraded my mac because of the option to add windows as well and due to my work i would love to have windows also.

  • Airport Express Not Working with iMac G4 and HP laptop

Ok I am really frustrated with this. I had my Airport Express configured to my mac and my old roommate's mac fine. I moved and just tried setting it up with my mac and my new roommate's PC laptop. It did not work. I tried connecting a router to see if that would help. It still didn't work. I reset the airport's default settings and it still didn't work. Is there a connectivity issue between macs and pcs using the airport express that I don't know about? Am I missing something? Can anyone give me some suggestions of what to try next because I am seriously fed up and running out of ideas of how to alleviate this.
Could it have anything to do with a firewall on the pc or the fact that I'm going from a place that supplied me cable internet to a place that now has dsl?
    Thanks for any help.
    Aaron

Macs and PCs work together just fine with an Airport Express.
Unfortunately, you have given us little information to help you with beyond simply indicating that "it doesn't work". Please elaborate:
    1. do the Mac and PC "see" the Airport Express wireless network?
    2. if so, does the Airport Utility (or Airport Admin Utility) on either computer "see" the Airport Express and allow you to view/change its configuration?
    3. what does the status light on the Airport Express show?
    4. if you can connect to the Airport Express wireless network from the PC and/or Mac, is the only problem that you cannot access the internet?
    5. what kind of reset did you do? To really start from scratch, do a factory default reset as described here.

  • Iphone 6 not working with imac

I have tried to download Yosemite so that my imac 2010 (OSX 10.6.8) will  sync with my new iphone6 - but the yosemite icon is just sitting on tool bar saying - waiting -for several hours now - Do I need to download an earlier operating system before I can download Yosemite  and is this why my imac is not syncing  with iphone 6 or is it a different issue? I have also rebooted phone and imac once connected- thank you

  • New Bluetooth Keyboard Not Working with iMac 2005

I just purchased a refurbished 2009 wireless Mac keyboard for my computer at work to replace the old outdated one. However, when I try getting it to connect I encounter a problem. While its being picked up by the bluetooth just fine, it tells me that it is unable to actually connect. It tells me the keyboard itself does not have the 'services' required to connect to the computer. I'm not sure what this means? This is not an issue I have ever encountered before. If anyone can assist me with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.

    HI Michelle
i have the same problem Also using an iMac21 inch late 2012. Has been working perfectly until 10.10.3. Now when the iMac wakes from sleep neither the mouse or keyboard are connected. The only recourse is to force a hard restart with the power button.
i have tried all your above items and also to no avail. I have set sleep to wait indefinitely & that has resolved my issue. Albeit with an increase in energy use.
I Would be grateful if anybody had some tips on how to resolve this situation.
    thanks
