BOOT CAMP and AMD Radeon HD 6750M - NO EXTERNAL DISPLAY

Hello,
I have a MBP 15' with the new AMD Radeon HD 6750M display card.
If I run WIN 7 64 bits with Boot Camp and the current driver I cannot connect a projector or external monitor.
It runs normally wit MAC OS.
Is there any solution for this??
Thanks,
Rodrigo

  • AMD Radeon HD 6750M + 2007 Cinema Display = compatible?

    Hello,
I'm trying to figure out if the AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB graphics card in my MBP will work with an old Apple Cinema Display 20-inch DVI Early 2007 (a1081). I know I need a mini display port to DVI converter to get it connected, but not sure if the graphics card is compatible. Does anyone know?
Any help is mucho appreciated, thanks!

Yes, it will work. I have the same model with the same GPU and I use my machine with an Apple Thunderbolt Display. Note that the 512MB card is the bare minimum for some Photoshop features (3D rendering).
I wish that I had purchased a 1GB card, but the 512MB card will push the monitor just fine.

  • On Boot Camp, the AMD Radeon R9 M295X is reporting "Code 43" Problems.

I am on an iMac with Retina 5K display and in the latest build 9926, my graphics card is having problems. In the Device Manager the "AMD Radeon R9 M295X" is saying "Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems."
There has been no updates for this in Windows Updates.
I have installed the Boot Camp Support Software, but this did not fix the problem.
My graphics card worked perfectly in Build 9879.

    Hi,
In my opinion, since system threw the error message: "Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems." There is two possible reason of this problem:
    1. Driver compatibility problem, however, it's hard to make troubleshoot and fix this problem.
    2. Driver installed problem, we can resolve this problem by uninstall the problematic driver and reinstall a new version. You can follow the steps of the link below to reinstall the driver:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725873(v=ws.10).aspx
In addition, it would be better to use driver verifier to check current graphic card driver compatibility.

  • Open CL errors with AMD Radeon HD 6750M, on Premiere Pro CC 7.0 and 7.0.1

I am on a Macbook Pro early-2011 with a 1Gb AMD Radeon HD 6750M - I noticed this in Console, repeating constantly while loading Premiere as well as all throughout my edit session and export:
MacBook-Pro.local Adobe Premiere Pro CC[770]: [CL_INVALID_OPERATION] : OpenCL Error : Failed to retrieve device information! Invalid enumerated value!
Meanwhile in project settings my Video Rendering and Playback settings is happily set to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Open CL) - not greyed out like in CS6. Someone else mentioned having the same open CL errors but said it only occured when they updated to 7.0.1 - however, I have seen the exact open cl errors on both 7.0 and 7.0.1 (every string is identical except the "[770]" which can have other values like [270] or [1060] etc. I have graphics switching off and my AMD Radeon HD 6750M shows up fine in system profiler. I am worried there might be something wrong with it, but other than in Premiere CC, I am having no problems.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it a bug? Is there any other info I can provide that would help clarify anything?
I've spent way too many hours and late nights trying to troubleshoot but couldn't come up with anything, so any help would be more than appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ronny

Anybody from Adobe have any insight? Are you aware of this? I hope this is being looked into soon because I have a wave of TEDx HD videos to edit coming up in less than a week and just need some reassurance. Should I be worried?
Maybe the problem is with Apple's Console not logging it correctly, since my Mercury (CPU) option is not grayed out and still selected.

  • AMD Crossfire, Boot Camp, and the new Mac Pro Issue

    Hello, all.
I have a new Mac Pro (Late 2013) with 6 cores, 32 GB RAM, and dual D700 AMD graphics cards.  I'm using an older 30 inch Apple Cinema Display (with the dual link DVI adapter).  I've successfully installed Windows 8.1 under Boot Camp.  Here's my problem...
I understand that for the new Mac Pro under Boot Camp enables AMD CrossfireX by default from multiple sources online.  However, it's disabled on mine, and every time I try to enable it (and hit "Apply" in the AMD Control Center), it disables again.
Is Crossfire only available for use with a Thunderbolt Display attached?  Could that be the problem?  Or is the AMD Control Panel lying to me?
Now, games in Windows are still running well... But I'd like to take full advantage of the dual graphics cards in the new Mac Pro with Crossfire.  Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Fixed it!
So, not only would Crossfire not enable under Windows 8.1 on my Mac Pro in Boot Camp... But Windows started crashing massively.  I was about to wipe Boot Camp entirely and try a clean install (even though the only three things I'd installed were Windows itself using Apple's exact instructions, Steam, and Skyrim), but decided in a last ditch effort to try disconnecting and reconnecting peripherals.
Turns out the culprit was my Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock.
Disconnecting the Belkin Thunderbolt dock not only stopped Windows from crashing, but now I can enable Crossfire, as well!
Now, this is especially strange since I have read elsewhere that people have no problems using the Belkin dock under Boot Camp with other Macs... This issue is probably isolated to using it in Boot Camp with the new Mac Pro.  But disconnecting the dock from my Mac Pro has solved not just one but all of my Boot Camp issues.  (Of course, using the Belkin dock under OSX on my Mac Pro is no problem.)
Long story short, if you have a new Mac Pro and plan on using Windows 8.1 under Boot Camp, don't have the Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock attached.
I'm going to contact Belkin and tell them what I've discovered.
    Hope that helps y'all.

  • AMD Radeon HD 6750M, Early 2011 MBP, 10.9.4 Problems

    Hello,
Ever since 10.9.3 update I have a serious problem with my Early 2011 MBP with AMD Radeon HD 6750M card.
    First my configuration:
MBP 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 (Macbook Pro 8,2)
    16 GB RAM
512 GB Sandisk SSD and 750 Stock HDD
AMD Radeon HD 6750M and Intel HD Graphics 3000
    OS X 10.9.4
I'm usually using my MBP with external display with a resolution of 1920x1080. The display is connected via DVI to Mini Display Port adapter. When I connect the external display, my MBP switches to the AMD card. Here's where the problems begin. If I'm using Davinci Resolve, Capture One Pro or any other software (that I use regularly) that uses the GPU extensively, the cpu usage will rise, the computer will start to feel sluggish and my productivity almost becomes none because even the simplest tasks such as opening another tab in firefox or safari takes anywhere between 1-3 sec. When the computer starts doing that, I cannot play a simple HD video at native fps and the whole machine basically becomes too expensive paper weight. The strange thing is that even after I quit all programs, the system cpu usage continues to be high, around 50% with kernel_task being the star using all this cpu and it keeps using all of this cpu forever, at least until i shut it down or disconnect the external display and manage to make it switch to the internal Intel gpu.
The problem started after istalling the 10.9.3 update and it's still there with the 10.9.4 update. I even formatted the computer and reinstalled everything but the problem still persists.
I haven't experienced anything like this on 10.9.2 and the machine was actually quite fast before that. Now, I have too expensive paper weight on my desk.
Since the problem is very specific, I doubt many users will complain and I doubt Apple will ever do anything to fix it, at least until hopefully the new drivers in 10.10 fix the issue hopefully.
    My question is:
    1. Has anyone else experienced this and managed to solve the problem?
    2. How can I downgrade to 10.9.2? I don't have time machine backup but i have bootable usb with 10.9.2. Will it help?
    All best,
    Goran

  • AMD Radeon HD 6750M on my MacBookPro8,3 (early 2011)

Hi, the drivers are showing out of date for the AMD Radeon HD 6750M Graphics adapter in my MacBookPro8,3 (early 2011).
When running the new and impressive looking EA Battlefied 3 in Bootcamp, it repeatedly reports each and everytime when it is first run that my Graphics adapter/card/GPU etc drivers are currently very old at 11.1 where'as version 11.9 is currently available. Searching on the internet reveals that versions 11.10 are in existence and there's even occassional reference to 11.11 on some sites.
The Battlefield 3 game does surprising still run and the graphics (when not moving) are something to behold on the beauty of a Mac, however it does unfortunately lag with the frame rate suffering. Its not so much of a case with having to tweak/adjust the graphics options as there isnt much difference from low to high, nor low res to full 1920x1200 res. However it is mentioned on some websites that the driver versions around 11.9 (11.8 to 11.10 I think) apparently address issues and improve frame-rate with Battlefield 3 and other Apps/Games.
Will Apple be likely to help many of us by releasing a Graphics driver update very soon for the AMD Radeon HD 6750M - for Bootcamp Win 7 x64 as well as OS X Lion?
Or is it even possible to install and incorporate the latest AMD Catalyst 11.10 driver software for my MacBookPro8,3 under Bootcamp?
Or are many of us regrettably stuck! (until Apple release an update of coarse)

This may be an old post, but for those still looking for an answer you can get the 13.12 (December 2013) AMD graphics driver from https://www.dropbox.com/sh/915fpdtgbgoksct/kOY7bKHgKq Select "Download->Download as .zip".
I only modded the driver for the windows 7 64-bit install, so if you using windows 8 under bootcamp you'll have to follow the included instructions yourself.
Please let me know/like this post if this works for you. (It would be great if you could report whether it worked based on using Win 7 or Win 8)

  • AMD Radeon HD 6750M new updates for Battlefield 3

    Hello,
I have a AMD Radeon HD 6750M, 1024 MB video card in a i7, 2.2 Ghz Macbook Pro.
Battlefield 3 is coming up and I want it to install it on my bootcamp. I read the AMD Radeon HD 6750M needs the new update. It is not possible to download and install this? Is there a way that mac provides these update with the software update tool in bootcamp so that the new AMD Radeon HD 6750M update can be installed?
    regards,
    Output31

Thank you "bios" on the link you've shared
I just wanted to say that "I installed Need for speed the run, and it was asking for a newer driver than the installed 11.1 (the one from apple bootcamp support), and I used the linked file you've mentioned and wala need for speed works like charm. However, when I play the game for about 20 minutes I can see the Magsafe green light turns orange i.e.. the MacBook Pro is not satisfied by the 85 Watt comming from the Magsafe and it is taking some additional power from battery to cover the power graphics consumption.
So, either the driver linked is not the final release, and AMD or Apple should update it with an optimized one OR the 85 Watt Magsafe is not the perfect match for a 15" MBP.

I don't know of any significant changes that would affect playback. Have you tried the normal troubleshooting steps, such as, trashing preferences, deleting media preview cache files, cleaning the media database cache, repairing permissions, etc.? Tell me, is your 6750M the one with 512 MB VRAM or 1 GB VRAM?

  • AMD Radeon HD 6750M - Color Profile?

    Hi.
When my graphic mode switches from Intel HD Graphics 3000 to AMD Radeon HD 6750M, the OSX color looks very strange.
It has kind of a blue fog. Looks like a completely miss configured color profile. But I already tried to adjust that without success.
If I start a game, the color looks fine within the game.
    OSX 10.8.1
    All software updates are installed.
This only happens after I reinstalled OSX on my new SSD drive.
Any idea what the problem could be?
    Thanks

  • Lose airport connection after using boot camp and windows XP

After using windows XP on boot camp and shutting down windows and booting to Mac OS 10.5.7 I lose the airport connection and have to restart or reset my airport extreme base station. My imac 2.8 is connected to airport via ethernet. Air port is operating on 5.7 version. This is a recent development and suspect it is related to updates in windows. I do not know where to start but need to solve this problem as it interrupts the other computers on wireless. Thanks Carl

I have solved problem. It was in the windows settings using airport rather than ethernet connection. Carl

  • Lion, Boot Camp and Windows 7 Issues

Couple of questions regarding Lion, Boot Camp and Windows 7... I never had issues with Snow Leopard and setting up Windows 7 on my iMac (expcept the dreaded black screen after restart, bu got that fixed)
Let me start off with my specs and then I will ask my questions:
    iMac 27"
    i7 Quad Core (1st gen)
    16GB Ram
    1TB HDD
OS X Lion (Fresh Install - Not Upgrade)
All updates for OS and iLife and other installed software:
    Adobe Creative Suite CS5
    MS Office 2011
    Boot Camp 4.0
    Window 7 Ultimate
    Ok... here are my questions.
When I fixed my black screen issues after installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 - I had to install MacFUSE and Tuxera NTFS in order to delete the the stock ATI driver so the second rebot on the install of windows 7 would work and boot correctly. After rebotting into my mac side I now always get this message from Tuxera.
What does this mean? Now in the finder when looking at the computer drives.. It does not show the BOOTCAMP partition...
However, when I resart i can hold down the ALT key and get this menu:
I know this might seem strange to ask, but why are the Macintosh HD and the Recovery HD text smoothed and the Windows text not? Being a design I see the difference and it makes me wonder why this is. (It is almost like the BSOD icon apple used forwhen connecting with shared PCs)... Anyways, I can boot into windows when clicking this drive.
After getting to windows 7 it will not let me run updated. The OS is activated and I have even installed SP1 manually, but it always tells me that the Update service is not running. When in fact it is. I have checked it and it is set to start automatically. I have reset and shutdown my computer more than 10 times... I can't figure out what the issues are.
    Overview:
Why do I get the Tuxera NTFS error?
Why can I see the boot camp partion when manually selecting it form startup, but it does not show in OS X
I can't get Windows to update? Any ideas?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

These various utilities like Tuxera are incompatible with Lion. Partly because MacFuse is incompatible. You need to remove them completely.
As for the Windows partition you might consider using Boot Camp Assistant to remove it. Then make a new partition and install Windows. Remember to use the Windows formatter to format the Windows partition NTFS.

  • Boot Camp and Windows 7 Problems

I have found a reproducible bug with Boot Camp and WIndows 7.
Clean install of OS X 10.6.2, Boot Camp Asst. Partition on my Mac Pro boot drive, clean install Win 7.
Problem: while in OS X, Disk Util Repair Permissions takes forever, churning away at the hard drive. Also, intermittent Spotlight hangs, and weird Dropbox behavior where it churns the disk like crazy again.
I have Paragon NTFS for Mac v 7.03 and perhaps this has something to do with it.
After retuning to a single partition using Boot Camp Asst. (deleting the Win 7 partition), all is back to normal - Repair Permissions takes about 60 seconds, no Spotlight or Dropbox issues whatsoever.
Using Fusion for Win 7 for now. Awaiting official Apple support of Win 7 in Boot Camp.
Wondering if anyone else can confirm this behavior where you have a partitioned boot drive with 10.6.2 and Win 7, with or without NTFS for Mac 7.03.

Addendum: on reboot/option key boot screen, it showed OS X volume, Win 7 Volume, and EFI Boot Volume - the latter had never been there before with Vista.
