Boot camp assistant stuck while 'Copying Windows files...'

At the moment I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit using Boot Camp 4.0.1. I have the iso and i'm at the step where Boot Camp Assistant creates a Windows 7 install disk on a USB flash drive. It gets most of the way through the process and stops here, http://imgur.com/Kcxl9 everytime. What can I about this?

Creating DVD on USB
Not all USB devices work
Disk Utility we know is not well suited to burning ISOs
I would assume the flash drive could be a 'maybe' and it would need to have Master Boot Record partition table.
I take it the Mini is like the Air in not having a superdrive, and that Assistant provided a driver to support USB-DVD function?

There is a Mac OS X program for burning an ISO that should work too.

  • Boot Camp Assistant fails to copy windows installation files

I have been struggling to get Windows 8 installed on a brand new Macbook Pro Retina. It seemed simple enough to just run Boot Camp 5 with a 16GB flash drive in the USB port and a Windows 8 Professional ISO sitting on the desktop with the intent of creating a bootable USB drive, but it's not working for me. After selecting the path to the ISO file, boot camp proceeds to format the flash drive, create the WININSTALL partition, and attempt to copy the contents of the ISO to it, but it fails.
The error message isn't all that helpful, but the console logs seem to indicate that there is some sort of problem remounting the flash drive after formatting:
    5/15/13 2:05:05.609 AM fseventsd[40]: could not open <</Volumes/WININSTALL/.fseventsd/fseventsd-uuid>> (No such file or directory) 5/15/13 2:05:05.609 AM fseventsd[40]: log dir: /Volumes/WININSTALL/.fseventsd getting new uuid: FD5D8B3E-A08E-4710-8925-CAA898FA70C3 5/15/13 2:05:05.679 AM fseventsd[40]: Events arrived for /Volumes/WININSTALL after an unmount request! Re-initializing. 5/15/13 2:05:05.679 AM fseventsd[40]: creating a dls for /Volumes/WININSTALL but it already has one... 5/15/13 2:05:07.176 AM diskmanagementd[857]: mount blocked by dissenter PID=857 (/usr/sbin/diskmanagementd) status=0xf8da0003 log=kDAReturnBadArgument message=(null)
I have tried rebooting, removing and re-inserting the flash drive, mounting, umounting, and reformatting. Boot Camp always winds up in the same place.
Any hints as to what might be going wrong?

Thanks for the note. But neither link lists our MacBook Pro mid 2014.
And how can I use Boot Camp Assistant to write the Windows.iso to USB-stick because it forces the download of support software (it is selected and grayed out).
The following page recommends using BCA for the MBP mid 2014.
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204048
I guess I could write the Windows.iso to USB using Windows (in fact I already did and it boots the MBP) and then try if the aforementioned software packages (which one?) contain necessary drivers for our MBP.
But I'd rather do it the recommended way letting the Boot Camp Assistant do the dirty work.

  • Boot camp assistant stuck

Hey, I use OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1) and I want to boot camp a windows 7 on my mac. I've read the boot camp for mountain lion instructions and I do all the things always like it says. But I think something's gone wrong, the boot camp assistant stuck in " Downloading windows support software ". I've tried to download BootCampESD.pkg but the link is not found. Then, I tried to use this link http://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-lion.merged-1.sucatalog it's downloading and jump directly into app store, but nothing's appeared. Please help me, I can't install visual basic that's being studied in my school. I can't do my computer task !!

I am not going to get into an argument here which I might add feels a little like you are wanting too, or trying to point out to others that apple verified apps and software are better, something we all know and agree with you with. Either way I will try and explain again
I had windows on a partitioned drive before I upgraded to mountain lion it was no longer there afterwards and needed it back on the Mac.
I looked it up on support and went ahead and started. Boot Camp wanted the latest windows software only didn’t happen so looked it up. I kept getting error messages after error message and every error message I would look up the solution, nothing was helping to get those files down.
Now this could be because the wireless was a bit slow because even igetter was having to resume a few times either way I had them in the end.
The thing is I have it done now and I might not be an expert like some of you on support however myself and I am sure a few others like myself can only try what support tells us a couple of times before we give up and look again for a solution  and if they had been working on it for as long as I had, start to look at any reply that someone has that might help. Then if it does great say thank you and move on.
I am not having a go at you, Apple or the support group nor saying to use third party apps, I would and will still always use Apple first.
I will have a go at Mountain Lion though because like I said I had no problems with my computer until I upgraded and hoping the shut downs and freezing up are just teething problems or bug that might be fixed on next update.
I have my Mac partitioned now it took many hours and a lot of searching to get it done though and still wouldn’t be if I didn’t read what support and other people wrote.

  • OS Mavericks - Boot Camp Assistant can not download windows support software because it is "not currently available from the Software Update server."

When trying in install windows 7 on my mac, the Boot Camp Assistant attempts to fownload windows support software.  However, the program continues to return the following error: the windows support software "not currently available from the Software Update server."
Is there another way to get this software?

64 bit.  I found the support drivers and got the windows installation done.  When trying to run the 64 bit support drivers in Windows 7, it says my computer doesn't support 64 bit.  Sooooo.....
I'm assuming I have to download the 32 bit support drivers for Windows 7.
    Correct?

That the disk is recognized in Leopard does not mean it's the right disk.
The Windows disk must be XP w/SP2 embedded, or Vista.
It must also be a full install disk, not an update or restore disk, and not a ISO-image disk.

  • I get an error message saying, "An error occurred while restoring the disk to a single partition." when I try to use Boot Camp Assistant to remove my Windows partition. Help?!

I'm trying to remove my Windows partition and delete Boot Camp altogether off my laptop. When I try to remove the partition, I get an error saying "An error occurred while restoring the disk to a single partition."
    Can someone please help?

Boot from another hard drive or DVD and repair with Disk Utility.

  • I get an error message saying, "An error occurred while restoring the disk to a single partition." when I try to use Boot Camp Assistant to remove my Windows partition.

i don't know how to do

There is a forum for Boot Camp. This is not the forum for the notebook users.
You should always always have backup that you can use to restore your system incase of a problem.
Try booting into Lion Recoverey or from your OS X DVD and choose Disk Utility from Utility menu and repair the disk; try to remove with DU instead of BCA.

  • Boot camp assistant has disappeared from Windows Tool Tray

While in windows my Apple keyboard quit working. I tried to update my drivers and now the Boot Camp icon is gone from the Windows Tool Tray (and my Apple keyboard is still not recognized)? The only way I can boot into Mac is restart Windows and hold down ALT key. What have I done? DOH!

If you have trouble in Windows, then it would seem logical to boot from that system's install CD.
It won't help to boot into OS X, will it? maybe if you want to make an image backup (clone, with WinClone) of your XP partition.
The "Apple OSSwitcher" boot camp tray icon, part of Boot Camp services you installed.
You could also run system file checker (in XP)
    CMD and then sfc /scannow
    also chkdsk
msconfig - check and see what startup and services are installed and loaded
Programs - to uninstall first, then reboot and install a fresh copy

  • Boot Camp Assistant creates non bootable Windows drive

    Hello all
I've been trying, for the last 8 hours to install Windows via Boot Camp without any success
    Some information:
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
    OS X Yosemite
    Windows source file: en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-65805.iso
    1. The first problem I had was that Boot Camp wouldn't enable the "Create a Windows 7 or later version install disk"
1.a) I tried burning a DVD without success
2.b) I finished by changing Boot Camp Content Folder as instructed here.
    2. Once, with the USB installed I partitioned my HD via Boot Camp but, after restarting the computer, I would receive a message asking me to insert a valid bootable drive.
2.a) I searched some more and found out that only GUID partition type USBs will boot.
2.b) I checked the USB Partition Map Scheme and it says: Master Boot Record
2.c) I changed the partition type back to GUID but, of course, when Boot Camp reinstalls Windows it goes back to MBR...
    3. Why in the earth would Boot Camp create a non bootable bootable drive???
    4. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks a lot!

On Macs with built-in Optical drives as indicated for your Mac (MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) - Technical Specifications) you need to use a DVD.
There are only a couple of 2012 models which support either USB or OD.
Creating a USB with ISO can be done either using a tool like Rufus or http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj200124.aspx . BCA will use the Mac's model identifier to set booting. There is no work around for BCA. You can try these two see if you can make any progress.

  • Boot Camp Assistant stops at 50 % when trying to download Windows support software. Help! : (

    Hello.
I am just trying to install Windows on my late 2011 Macbook Pro. I clicked "Finder" -> Utilities -> Boot Camp Assistant and started downloading Windows support software. Problem is that it is stuck at 50 %. Is this a known problem? How do I solve it? Do I just have to be patient? Is there another way around?
Also, do I need an actual CD to burn or can I use an external hard drive?
I appreciate any help I can get : ) I don't know much about boot camp.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Try downloading the Windows support software from the Support site > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638
Apple only supports now the external drive as the method to install the Windows support software, but if you download it from Apple Support, you can decompress the file downloaded, right-click the folder with the drivers and burn them into a CD/DVD
