Boot Camp manager requires log-out/log-in to load

Every time I restart Windows, Boot Camp manager requires a log-out then log-in to load in the task bar. A few other menu items also require this. Has anyone else experienced this?

Is it boot camp assistant or is it Windows that is asking you to put in your password upon boot?
What other menu items require this input?

  • Boot Camp Manager Must Close

I am a Boot Camp Beta user with Windows XP. I upgraded to Leopard and installed the new drivers from the Leopard disc. Everything seemed fine, except for a pop-up window saying that new hardware had a problem and might not work correctly. But the Boot Camp icon showed in the taskbar and everything seemed OK.
However, on the second startup after installation I received an error message that Boot Camp Manager had to close, and no icon (even Bluetooth) appeared in the task bar.
I tried repairing the drivers, and reinstalling them, all to no avail.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem with the Windows Boot Camp drivers?

I was called by a user who had same trouble... "Boot Camp Manager encountered a problem and needs to close"
For this one, the problem was Spy Sweeper. Only fix I could find was leaving that uninstalled.
I tried, among other things, turning off the Spy Sweeper's "Shield" for Startup Items. That had no benefit; Same trouble with Boot Camp Manager upon startup.
    I did the following:
    - uninstalled Trend Micro's AV
    - uninstalled Spy Sweeper
    (no other anti-malware loaded)
    - Inserted the Boot Camp 1.4 drivers CD and ran "Repair"
    - No problems on restarts.
    - loaded Trend Micro's AV 2007 back onto Boot Camp.
    No problems upon multiple restarts.
    - Loaded Spy Sweeper (CD was labeled with version 0706-FA-1287), ran the updates during install, and during its final stage of install reported that I didn't need to restart.
    - clicked "Finish"
    - Then after clicking the "Finish button the install dialog went away and I received a dialog reporting that Spy Sweeper had a problem and a restart is required.
    - restarted.
    - Upon restart, no problem with Boot Camp Manager
    - Restart on final time just to verify that Boot Camp and everything else is loading properly.
    - NO. Boot Camp Manager now reporting AGAIN that it "has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Therefore, it seems to be the Spy Sweeper that's causing the problem.
    - uninstalled Spy Sweeper, then "Repair" of Boot Camp (which takes a very long time).
    - Restarted.
(No Boot Camp Manager problem upon restart)
    - Restarted.
(No Boot Camp Manager problem upon restart)
    - Restarted.
(No Boot Camp Manager problem upon restart)
    Yes. 3 restarts.

You can't buy more storage on an iPad. You are referring to space on iCloud and that probably won't accomplish what you are trying to do.

Are we supposed to guess what the error message is?

At startup hold down the Option/Alt key and from the screen that comes up select your OS X partition to start the computer from. Then use the Boot Camp Assistant app to Remove Windows and the partition you reated for it and it will Automatically place the space you allocated for the Windows install back into the OS X partition.
    NOTE:
Do NOT use Disk Utility to erase the partition that was created for the Windows install. Use the Boot Camp Assistant app again to do that.

    HELP MEH!!~

    Issue resolved!
I went to the Apple store in Portland, OR, and one of the geniuses, Matt, resolved the problem. Thank you Matt! And thanks to Apple for having a genius on staff who knew a thing or two about windows!
Matt had not encountered this problem before, but he took a shot at the problem andresolved it on the first try.
    I'll explain what he did:
    Booted windows.
Plugged in my ac powered usb dvd drive (tried to use the superdrive for the air, but it was not pwrking because of the bootcamp manager problem).
Inserted disc 1 of my osX discs that came with the MBA.
When the disc menu apeared, he chose to remove the boot camp manager software.
He then connected to the Apple stores wifi, went to windowsupdate.com, clicked custom, checked all of the Microsoft .net framework packs, and downladed and installed them.
    Restarted, and booted to windows.
Re-inserted the osX disc 1, and installed the boot camp mananger software.
    Restarted.
    Voila!
Boot camp manager works every time I boot now, and everthing is working--bluetooth, audio, keyboard backligiting, monitor brightness--everthing!
Incredible customer serice from Matt and the PDX Apple store!

  • Late 2013 imac 27" bootcamp install of win 8.1 pro, boot camp driver setup errors out

I installed windows 8 pro via boot camp.  then once the win8 install completed the boot amp driver setup began automaticly.  it errored out at some point with the below error
    Boot Camp Install completed
he installer incountered errors before the  boot camp could be completed.
To retry these operations at a later time please run the installer again.
What is this error?  It does not give me anything to go on.  it seems like most of the drivers were installed fully, but there is still a divce under device manager that is not installed completely.  Also, I don't have the boot camp icon in my system trey in the bottom right corner of my screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Boot camp install would error out

I had multiple issues as well.
When I first tried to install 8.1 full as a fresh boot camp install it would error out and say that the required files were not there to install.
Then I would try it again and it would then get close to finishing and say it cant change the boot order and fail.
Apple please fix as soon as possible.
    <Re-Titled By Host>

What's happening here is that the Windows installation, for whatever reason, is not booting properly. It is also set as your default boot system. To change this, reboot your mac while holding down the Option/Alt key. After awhile you will be presented with two icons, one for OS X and the other for Windows. Select OS X and then press Enter.
OS X will boot. Go to System Preferences >> Startup Disk and then select your OS X partition and this won't happen anymore.

  • Once Boot Camp 3.0 comes out, do I need to reinstall Windows 7?

First of all, is my late 2008 MacBook going to be compatible?
With that out of the way, I would like to do know if it's necessary to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit once the new Boot Camp set up is upgraded.
Windows 7 is already on my Mac, the main thing I want is all the proper drivers so it's optmized to run well. I'm not sure if the new Boot Camp update will magically let me run the set up without error messages or what.

Just update Windows with the Boot Camp 3.1 package when it comes out.
Always good policy to make a backup image at some point (WinClone).
It runs well now. If you are getting error messages, take that up.

  • Is Boot Camp Assistant required?

I will be getting a new MacBook Pro soon, and will be installing Windows 7 on it as well. Do I need to run Boot Camp Assistant to somehow "properly prepare" the HD/system to be able to run W7, or is it just a convenience tool?  I.e. if I manually create a new partition on my HD and then boot from the W7 install DVD and install it "normally," will there be any issues? (I realize I will then need to download the BootCamp driver installer manually.) Thanks for any input.

you seem to miss the fact that there is no DVD with Windows 7.
you download the drivers and place them on USB flash or some other location that you can access in Windows to install them.
Even with Apple's drivers you may need to add audio, graphic, network drivers. You are skipping the vendor supplied motherboard hardware abstraction layer.
This is not a PC. you are using UEFI + GPT and BCA is creating an MBR which is non-standard for Windows.
Windows is the one that does not boot from partitions after #4 and you have hidden GPT, EFI, Lion, Lion Recovery there already.
Shrink and "add" from free space and the whole Windows partition you had will not act the same or be able to select in the Mac's EFI boot manager and settings.
Buy a PC? buy a Mac with multiple internal hard drives and you can slice and cut more.
BCA is not just convenience though some people do try to use gpart it isn't supported and is I'd guess more for education and experiments.

  • Subscribe to CC, logged out, logged in and now all apps are trial versions.

Adobe recommended I log out of my CC account as a solution to application freezes. When I logged back in, I'm told I have trial versions and they need serial numbers. What the heck?

Adding to previous resolution, just wanted to mention that do check the host file too as they block Adobe at times.
Creative cloud do not need a serial number.
In case it is not signing in successfully please try the following:
I don't know which operating system you are working on so i am giving you some steps windows and MAC OS:
       Windows:
In windows 7 navigate to following location:
         /windows/system32/drivers/etc
       1. look out for "Hosts" file
       2. Open it with notepad
       3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
       4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CC
       Mac:
       1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
       2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
       3. Remove the entries and save the file
       4.  try again launching any product from CC

  • I bought macbook pro at cash america used and loaded with windows 7 ultimate by boot camp.My questions is it has mountain lion loaded but original ower has name with password so how can I reload so I can sign on as administrator for downloads and upgrades

I bought a 13 inch macbook pro9.2 at Cash America with windows 7 Ultimate with boot camp program.
The Mac op sytem has Mountain Lion installed but the previous ower has his name and password attached to it and can only use as guest.
My question is how do I get around this to be administrator to reload software so i can use mountain Lion, and not loose the windows op .

If you reformat the partition that contain Mountain Lion and reinstall Mountain Lion, it should not effect the Windows pratition.
Have said that I suggest you backup everything you might want to save just in case.

  • Anyone able to get LR6 Trial running? The "log out/log in" fix did not work for me.

    Hi,
I started the LR5 trial about a week ago. When LR6 came out, I tried to "upgrade" the trial. No luck. I continue to see a quick peek at the splash screen and then it seems to quit.
    thanks,
