Boot Error, cant load windows

I've been having a problem with my Toshiba A305-S6905 laptop for quite some time now. Shortly after powering on I am brought to a screen where this message continues to repeat:
For Realtek RTl8101E/8102E PCI-E Ethernet Controller v1.07 (080320)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
When I bought the laptop there was no recovery/repair CD included. I decided to go out and buy a new hard drive along with Windows 7 in hope of this fixing it. After installing the hard drive nothing has changed. I tried booting directly from the Windows 7 CD also and that doesnt work either. All I still see is the same old error. This is driving me crazy and so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The most common problem with new installs not booting or lots of crashes is drivers.
You say it's a new install did you enable APIC in Bios and disable PNP?
If you didn't than I'd do areenstall after doing some changes in the BOIS.
Here is a good site with some common BIOS setting to use with a new install.
http://www.amdforums.com/showindex.php?s=&threadid=186506
Also the K7N2 like all Nvidia boards is pickey about memory check your memory to see if on OK list.
Also the K7N2 Delta with it's dual channel memory and the faster CPU that or being installed take more power than the 1.4's did a couple of years ago.
The minamum for the 1.4 was 300 WATTS today a lot of 400 watt power supply won't hack it. The CPU's can draw as much as 80 Watts just by its self.
The minamum Amps for 3.3V is 24 Amps, 5V is 30 Amps and 12 V is 16 Amps.
more is better.
If amps or to low for the 3.3 volts you can blow the caps on memory voltage regulator.

I have tried to install windows 7 and the system hangs before I even get into any configuration however windows 8 loads fine
I have looked in the bios and the system is showing windows 8 . has lenovo locked the bios to allow windows 8 only ?
Is there a way to load windows 7 onto the system ?
I really want to dual boot and have downloaded all of the drivers for windows 7 but for the life of me I can not get past the initial boot screen of my windows 7 disc
    Can anyone help please

    hi botards01,
If you're planning to use linux occasionally (Ubuntu for example) and you don't want to risk losing the One Key Recovery functionality, try to install Ubuntu via Wubi as this doesn't repartition your HDD but creates a virtual disk on your current OS.
Check it out - Install Ubuntu in Windows With Wubi
    Hope this helps

  • Adobe Photoshop CS4  runnig error - cant  load files

    hi,
ive first time installed adobe cs software in my pc. i have never used this software before nor its previous version.
when i try to run adobe photoshop cs4 - it gives me error after loading for few things that "A required application library failed to load and the product cannot continue, please re-install the application"
ive re installed the application several times but that same error continues.
    any help will b welcomed
    thank you

OK. This error drove me nuts and I have seen a thousand different "solutions" posted on various forums (none of which actually worked), but I think I found the magic bullet for this problem. This appears to be a result of corrupted/missing language pack files. Here's what I did to resolve it once and for all!
You should already have a folder somewhere with the contents/Setup.exe for CS4 Design Premium
Download the trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended
Unpack the contents to a folder/directory somewhere on your PC
You will NOT be installing the Photoshop CS4 Extended application - only copying some files.
Copy the "extensions" folder from Photoshop CS4 Extended, that you just downloaded to your CS4 Design Premium folder (there should be an "extensions" folder already there as well)
Select yes if prompted to replace existing files/folders.
Double-click the Setup.exe in your CS4 Design Premium directory and re-start the installation of Photoshop from there.
    Problem should be solved.

  • Boot camp cant find windows installer

I'm trying to run boot camp to install Windows 7 on a partition and it can't find the Windows installer. I'm tried it from a USB and the Windows DVD, but neither works.
    It's an 2008 iMac 2.66 Ghz 4 Gig Ram, 128 SSD running 10.7.2
    Thanks!

    Ennoxx,
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by Boot Camp "can't" find window installer.  I used BC to partition my drive and create my driver DVD.  I inserted the W7 DVD and clicked install.  My Mac restarted, but it did not install W7.  I could see there was a BC partition on my hard drive so I tried to restart and at the "chime" hold the option key.  Only my Mac and Restore drives were visible.  When the computer finished restarting I inserted the W7 DVD.  I restarted again and held option at the chime.  This time the W7 disk was visible.  I selected it and everything went great.
I expected the "Windows Installer" to come up and ask to insert disk or since the disk was already in the drive to just restart in the BC partition and install it.  But, it needed a little user intervention.  This was true also for the several restarts during the install process.  Everytime I had to hold the  option key and select the Windows partition.  I suppose I could have set Windows as the default but I'm not sure.
I hope you figure it out.
    Good Luck.

  • Boot error 34 with Windows 8.1 on Lenovo Yoga 13

Bought my Yoga 13 with Windows 8 pre-installed and updated it to 8.1. Worked since Oct 2013. Starting yesterday after shutdown and new power on allways get blue screen saying:
    Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information.
    File: \BCD
    Error code: 0xc0000034
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disk or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings
No recovery tools came with the product. Are there any hints on how to proceed or produce a bootable USB device for Windows 8.1? How can I find my Windows product key if it is needed to download any corresponding licensed software?

You can always download Windows 8.1 trial edition and create a bootable USB disk. That will help you boot to WinRE (Windows Recovery Enviroment). Once booted you can run bootrec to fix your bcd
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392
Since you upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, the product key that you have will be for Windows 8. Most of the manufacturers paste the license key bottom of the device. If you do not find it there, please contact the vendor.

  • Installing Windows 7 Using bootcamp 5.0 on MBPr OSX 10.8.2 Black Screen Not Loading Windows 7 Install on Boot

I am trying to install Windows 7 using Bootcamp Assistence 5.0 on a MacBook Pro Retina OSX 10.8.2, I went through all steps on Creatting the Windows 7.iso into a bootable USB Dirve 16GB I use a separate USB Drive 2 GB and download Windows Support Drivers Step 2 on bootcamp assistence. I run into the problem in step 3 when the computer reboot I just get a black screen the back display still on like I can still see the apple on the back lit up, but the screen is black and wont load the window installer, if i shut it down and bring it back up i get error saying IOS not found so then i have to shut it down, enter recovery and restart on osx partition, i can see that the bootcamp partition was created but cant load windows to it. Please can anybody help me or guide me on what i am doing wrong? thank you so much in advance

this will install as normal. before installing however you will need an activation key cos in win 7 this is one of the first pages that is presented before instalation.
the key from your relative could possibly work especially if he used your internet connection to register. but this could cause problems with his/your authenticity after 30 days.
the only other option is to purchase a key.
you say a 30 day trial, does it give you a temporary key for this?

  • Disk Error after BC Windows XP Install on Snowleopard

So when I inserted the Windows XP disc in my mac after it told me to, my computer restarted and installed Windows XP on my newly partitioned 40GB Fat32 drive (it had asked to chnage to NTSF but I selected leave without changing.  After installing Windows it said something like "Windows is installed, now restarting", now every I try to boot up with the Windows XP partition by holding down "option/alt" at start up, it goes to the black DOS like screen and says Disk Error, cannot load Windows, press any key to continue". Pressing any key does nothing, so I have to restart, and thus I am at another brick wall.
I downloaded some Boot Camp Snow Leopard Drivers and tried burning the .iso of it to a disc but that wasn't even working, not sure I even need to get to that step yet.
    Help?

Got it, was supposed to reformat the drive within the windows installation.  Turns out reading the .pdf manual can be helpful....

  • Can't load Windows 7 on Bootcamp 3.0.4

So, I've got a couple things working against me.  I traded my friend for his late 2006 Macbook 2,1 and have upgraded to Snow Leopard.  The only issue with the computer itself is the optical drive is broken, but I have purchased an external USB drive, and was successful at using it to upgrade to SL.
I would like to run Boot Camp to load Windows 7, but have so far not been able to do so.  I have read that I need Boot Camp 4.0 in order to run Windows 7, but can only download the updates to be run through Windows.  When placing the Windows Installation disk in the external drive and placing a hard drive with the Snow Leopard software in through USB, and continuing through Boot Camp Assistant, the computer will being with the White Apple Screen, but the Apple will flash between a "do not enter" looking sign and a folder with a question mark on it.  I have seen several similar posts but have yet to solve the problem.  Is the external optical drive the culprit, or am I missing some easy step along the way?
    Thank you for your help,

  • HP TouchSmart 320-1130a strange error cant install, wont run linux live, but will boot ERD commander

this PC came to me as a "look and see" with a stranger error.
    symptoms:
HP boot splash screen bios (post) OK
it starts to load windows then loops. (resets)
what i tried: (and the strange symtoms)
ran all the HP inbuilt diags, mem, cpu, hdd, pc board, all passed, OK
it WILL happily boot via YUMI hirens boots cd (ERD) commander  XP mode  and can see all drives etc, can copy data from HDD to external usb or another portable drive.
    what it wont do:
WONT boot a live USB/DVD linux via YUMI, starts to load (5 seconds worth then loops)
WONT do clean win7 install, starts to load (5 seconds then loops)
PC is not running hot, cpu only just warm.
RAM modules pass with memcheck, (2 checkers ran)
    Help, any ideas???
(I can pretty well try anything that people suggest tech-wise with PC`s)
no go in safe mode, (just loops)
i put a freshly formatted 80GB sata drive in. set windows 7 setup in process, got just past the first white loading windows bar, then froze, and looped/resets
with this same 80GB hard drive in, I CAN boot hirens +ERD commander  all works as expected.
CANT boot any live linux usb/cd`s. loads a few seconds of a live cd/usb then loops.
what i find odd is the fact that erd commander (XP) WILL boot and i can do as i like in the GUI , copy stuff from/to the hard drive.
this proves CPU,HDD,RAM is ok (i think??? must be something wrong?)
HDDD has been proven ok in another machine, scandisk, checkdisk, even spinrite.
RAM has been proven via memcheck, memtest86, and another ram checker.
dvd drive WILL boot hirens and erd commander.
*someone told me could be the graphics part of the CPU that is partly dead?*
    any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Richard

While installing new software for my windows side it it froze up and I had to do a hardshut down. After I restarted my computer it came up with a black screen that says boot/bcd error - 0xc0000001
info: an error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
    It instructs me to
    1. insert your windows installation disk and restart my computer
    2. choose your language settings and then click "next"
    3.click "repair your computer"
problems I've come across while attempting to fix this
    1. when selecting what operating system to repair after starting up the windows installation disk there are no operating system that shows up.
    2. "repair your computer" option does not work and cannot repair the problem.
    3. cannot hold down option to go back to Mac side because of EFI lock which I don't know the password to it.
    4. cannot get to safeboot for reasons unknown, but holding down f8 doesn't work and holding down FN with F8 also does not work. It just goes to the boot error screen.
    5. System restore does't work either.
    6. went into command prompt and typed sfc / scannow but it says that another scan is in progress but needs to reboot to start. Every time I restart the same message pops up.
All I really want to do is get back to my mac side so I can delete the partition at this point. But it is IMPOSSIBLE so if anybody knows any solutions please do share. thanks!

    Hi electrovalent,
I agree with Tripredacus,we seem to miss the important part that we should boot from the UEFI mode for a GPT format disk.To boot from the UEFI mode:
1.Insert the installation DVD or USB flash drive, and boot the computer.
2.When the firmware starts to initialize, press the key that opens the UEFI firmware boot device menu, such as Esc, F2, F9, F12.
3.Select an EFI drive, examples: EFI DVD/CD Drive, EFI USB Drive, or EFI Network Drive. You may be immediately prompted to press a key to boot from the drive to continue.

I have noticed you have tried the "Startup Repair"option before but I would suggest you try this option again .Because we have chosen the UEFI mode this time and this option is usually useful and convenient to repair the boot loader.
If the issue persists ,try the following command line .I also noticed you have tried the similar command line before but I have made a little modifications according to the screenshots you have posted.
    diskpart
    list vol
sel vol 2  (Volume 2 is the fat32 volume, this step is not included in the screenshot )
    assign letter=v
    exit
ren BCD BCD.old (Backup bcd )
    bcdboot c:\Windows /s v:
    Best regards
