Boot from LAN using Wireless Adapter

I have one Cisco Wireless PCI Adapter. Does it have a feature like PXE BootROM in NIC, so I can boot from LAN using wireless adapter?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. At issue would be the necessary setup for things like SSID.
Maybe in the future; many motherboards & chipsets are including Wireless NICs, they would need to provide some setup in the BIOS to configure the basic communication parameters necessary to establish the Layer one / Layer two link.
Good Luck

I try to boot from LAN but I can’t. I receive this error: PXE:61 Media test failed check cable.  I enable “wake up from LAN” option from network adapter properties and it boot from LAN normally without error messages. Why this happen? I want to boot from LAN on clean system. Is there solution?

  • How run reports JDE from BPEL using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld?

    Hi,
I need to load on line a lot of invoices from Bpel to JD Edwards using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld (iWay).
Using Business Functions as Web Services it wasn't a not good idea because of this Adapter is poorly constructed and doesn't allow simultaneous loads, a memory leak occurs on JDE server. And to load them invoice by invoice is very slow.
A choice is to use Z tables and load them through schedules, but Bpel loses total control.
I heard that I can run processes reports that enable to extract the data from the Z tables and load them into JDE.
How can I execute reports JD Edwards invoked from BPEL using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld?
    Thanks
    Francisco

    Hi Dario,
BizTalk 2013 R2 (JDE LOB Adapter) is not tested against latest release of JDE EnterpriseOne 9.1.
It only supports with 8.12 and 9.0 version of JDE.

  • Booting from CD using external Superdrive

My eMac's internal CD drive has gone kaput and will no long burn CDs. It is also very tempermental and will not recognize certain CDs, including my Norton's Utilities. Obviously I cannot boot from CD using the internal drive. I have an external Superdrive connected by firewire. How can I get the eMac to boot from a CD in the Superdrive — while pressing C at restart etc

    Emac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The "hold down the option key" startup method is described in Startup Manager: Select a Startup Volume.
Ryan Hale already answered your direct question, but I notice you mentioned that you were unable to boot off a Symantec Utilities / Nortons Disk Doctor disc. DON'T USE DISK DOCTOR ON ANY OS X MAC! Syamntec abandoned any pretense of supporting OS X and stopped selling Symantec Utilities Mac years ago; Disk Doctor has a nasty habit of writing scratch files to the very disk it's supposed to be examining. That's fine if the disk doesn't actually need any repairs, but if Disk Doctor does actually make repairs, odds are extremely high that it will trash the hard drive to where the only way to recover use it a complete erase and install. The number of flames about Symantec Utilities Mac online has fallen off in the years since Symantec stopped selling it, but you can still turn up around 24,000 hits if you Google "Disk Doctor Kevorkian".
Can you post back and tell us why you wanted to run Nortons in the first place? There are other alternatives to fixing disk problems, notably DiskWarrior as well as Tech Tool Pro 4 and Drive Genius for disc repairs and Data Rescue for recovering data from a truly hosed hard drive.

  • Toshiba tecra a11-17c refusing to boot from LAN

    Hello
I am working on a Toshiba tecra a11-17c. We currently have about 18 of the same laptop and the person who originally built the computers has left the office we are currently working at.
The issue I am have is that I  want to boot the computer from lan and do a windows 7 installation on the laptop but I keep getting the error "Media test failure, check cable"
I know the cable is working because I was able to build a Toshiba satellite pro l20 perfectly fine
The other Toshiba tecra a11-17c laptops have the same issue when trying to rebuild them too
I am fully able to log into a Toshiba tecra a11-17c and connect to the internet via the same network cable and port when in windows.
I have also tried to swap the hard drive with a different tecra a11-17c but it just kept getting a blue screen as soon as the windows flag appeared.
I then tried a format of the hard drive and a reset to default of the bios settings as suggested in a different forum.
I then tried to clone a fully working hard drive from a different fully working tecra a11-17c and it just dose the blue screen as stated above.
I then used an old windows XP recovery disk for the tecra a11-17c it did the build fine no issues then when it came to build to windows but as stated above it just dose a blue screen the same as windows 7.
Now I have no idea what to do but to believe it is something Toshiba has done with the tecra a11-17c range because its the same issue for all 18 of the tecra a11-17c laptops I have here.
Any way I am at a loss and have no idea what to do it seems to be something as simple as the network card need to be turned on during the boot phase but I can not find anything in the bios.

I'm sorry but I have no experience doing what your attempting to do.  However, for your information, this site is for U.S. models only and I would suggest you also post in the appropriate regional Toshiba Support forum to get better suggestions.  Good luck

  • Can't boot from DVD using C key

I desperately need to use DiskWarrior on my startup disk. I have used it on my secondary internal hard disk with no problems. A couple of years ago my Apple keyboard went up on me and I needed a replacement immediately (I worked from home), so I ran out to OfficeDepot and bought a Microsoft keyboard that had software with it to make it run with a Mac. It has done fine for me. However, when trying to boot from DiskWarrior, I hold the C key down and it doesn't boot from the DVD, it just boots from my internal startup disk. I was able to install Mac OS X 10.4 with the DVD and this keyboard, however. DiskWarrior tech support dudes tell me it is the fault of the Microsoft keyboard. I'm not so sure (since I installed 10.4 with this keyboard). I don't want to buy an Apple keyboard "just in case." But perhaps this is a known issue by somebody "out there." Any help would be appreciated (before my startup disk explodes altogether). Thanks!

I have 3 Microsoft keyboards, going back to my G4 MDD. Usually plugged into an Apple Display, but on some occassions I've had to plug it directly into front USB port (or rear, front is accessible).
The one thing that I would do, is not just "zap PRAM" from cold boot, but boot into the Open Firmware screen and RESET-NVRAM, and see if that helps. Force the device ID list to be rebuilt, and does a more complete job than zapping can.
There have been a lot of major problems with Apple USB hub type support. I too was troubleshooting an issue and got the "run around."
The only time I've seen where someone could not boot from a DVD/CD was when the hard drive in the system directory was severely corrupt - OS X looks to find any and all bootable devices even when you boot from CD or another drive. And a damaged journaling file is even harder to fix usually.
Outside of the G4 PCI model (1999, early '00) a G4 can boot from Firewire, any problem I'd guess was a defective FW port; some FW cases themselves.
I never really use DW CD. Always always clone your system; create an Emergency boot drive to work from - and used only in emergency so you know it works and isn't just a backup. And, of course, a backup of your working system.
USB cables can flake out. Even new. The USB extension cable Apple includes being one such that has been known to be the culprit. So doubt and verify any cables and devices.
One G5 owner has a LaCie drive not even connected, but the FW cable was, hanging out the back, and would cause:
slow boot sometimes; kernel panic other times; pull the cable, life is back to normal again. FW cables and devices (not sure if LaCie has the market cornered or not) that "wipe out" FW ports, cause shorts, should be avoided (maybe banned).
I've used an MS keyboard for about 4 yrs on my G4, still running 10.4.11. Ever since my Apple split ergonomic keyboard died, and I've got 4 Apple Pro keyboards sitting around (I can palm a basketball but don't like typing on small keyboards). Currently use MS 3000 and 4000 keyboards.
There are lots of reports of Leopard where the system is not responding, but the mouse able to move, but no interaction - can't launch anything or even bring up the Force Quit dialogue. The system being totally non-responsive, and people force shutdown, with high potential of leaving the directory in disrepair.
Mac OS 10.2.5 was suppose to fix and solve USB hub problem. That updated lasted less than two weeks. USB issues have been around, as have Firewire problems. Even Windows Vista can loose track of and get confused by unplugging/replugging devices multiple times that it looses the device ID.

  • XI Alerts from UDF using file adapter.

I need to send alerts from XI message mapping. I have the file ---> file scenario but don't want he stop the process if any failures in the mapping. If I find any failures, I need to catch the those failures and send as alerts/email report. As per the link /people/bhavesh.kantilal/blog/2006/07/25/triggering-xi-alerts-from-a-user-defined-function,  I am not sure whether  I can use LookupService for file adapter or not. Can anyone give me some idea on how to send the alerts from UDF using he file adapter ?

    Try this...

  • How to use wireless adapter in Satellite C660D?

    Hi everyone!
Got crazy searching for the wireless adapter in Satellite C660D-164..does it have one inbuilt? or do I have to buy an external one? Can't figure out how to set up wi-fi and bluetooth. The manual is non descriptive.
Installed all the drivers form site.
    Pleas help asap.

    Hi
In the device manager you can find the list of all available devices.
Under Network Adapters you should find the available Wlan card.
In order to use the Wlan, you have to enable this firstly.
Use Fn + F8 in order to switch ON the Wlan.
Then you should see a small icon in the task bar (right bottom corner). Right click on this and check if you Wlan Home Network is visible.
Then insert the encryption password and usually the notebook should connect to the home Wlan.

  • Accessing Tibco-EMS queue from XI(using JMS adapter)

    Hi All,
I am currently working on a Tibco Integration scenario with XI thru JMS(Sender) adapter. I have gone through some of our SDN forum threads and come to know that we have to deploy some TIBCO specific jar files to the fetch data from TIBCO-EMS queues. But still have the following query on
    1. what are all the JAR files(TIBCO JMS libraries) needed to be installed in SAP J2EE engine? I have got the following JAR files from TIBCO guys...
    tibcrypt.jar
    tibjms.jar
    tibjmsadmin.jar
    tibjmsapps.jar
    tibrvjms.jar
    regards,
    Raks

    Hi Raks,
Check this note for JNDI configuration..
    802754
"If a 3rd party JMS provider should be used then usually the "Name of JNDI initial context factory" must be adjusted. I.e. com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl must be replaced by some.other.vendor.jms.jndi.InitialContextFactory In addition it is necessary to deploy the jar that contains the some.other.vendor.jms.jndi.InitialContextFactory with the aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda SDA file. In addition, you must extend the server/provider.xml deployment descriptor in the relevant way. Refer to Chapter 11 of the XI 3.0 Configuration Guide for more information"
You need to find out class "Name of JNDI initial context factory" for tibco  as mentoned in the note and deploy the corresponding JAR file.
Also check this link for JNDI configuration parameters in the JMs adapter..

  • If leopard won't boot from dvd, use disk utility mount to partition

wanted to share a way that i successfully installed os 9, tiger, and leopard on 1 hard drive. first of all, leopard was the only installation that i had difficulty with. it would not boot off the original dvd, no matter if i held down the 'c' key or the option key, so this is what i did after a lot of reading on the internet to try and troubleshoot this issue.
First thing i did was partition my internal hard drive in 3 partitions using disk utility. the 3rd partition was around 9gb. I installed os9 first on the 1st partition, i then installed tiger on that same partition. then i put in my leopard dvd, and opened up disk utility. and clicked on "restore", and dragged the dvd image as the "source", and chose the 9gb partition as the destination, and clicked on restore. then, i changed the "startup disk" to start from the 9gb where i just restored the image, and rebooted, and went through the leopard setup and chose the 2nd partition as the place to install. this should work with the dvd, or if you made an image from the dvd. I hope this helps someone else whose dvd won't boot, because it was very frustrating after you purchase a faster processor, and faster video card so that your system meets the requirements, and then the dvd won't boot.

Two ways. Use another computer to restore the install disc to one of those ext HD. Then, use it to boot the other machine. Get an ext CD/DVD reader and use it to read the install disc and boot the machine. However, if both the HD and optical reader are kaput, then a trip to an Apple repair station is in order.

  • I get booted from my own wireless network whenever my computer sleeps

I just purchased a MacBook and connected it to my already existing wireles network. It works great, but my wife's ibook G4 keeps kicking her off the wireless network whenever her computer sleeps. This never hapened before, but seemed to coincide with my connecting my new MacBook to the network. To reconnect, all she has to do is to select our network from the list that pops up, but that gets annoying if you have to do it every time. Any help?

I too continually get booted, but not even when going to sleep. After a certain period of time, my Powerbook G4 disconnects from my Aiport. AND, everytime I start up, I have to manually select my Airport - it keeps wanting to connect me to the neighbors Linksys first. I have to say "no do not add Linksys to my preferred networks", then I have to manually select my Airport.
How do I stay connected to my PREFERRED network?
