Boot runner doesn't see Windows

I am trying to use Boot Runner to simplify the rebooting process into Windows 8 but it doesn't identify the Windows partition. Can anyone assist? Below is the layout of my internal drive:

I haven't solved my original problem but I switched to Quickboot and it provides the functionality I need and properly identifies all bootable partitions. I didn't have to change the disk layout.

  • BootCamp boot option doesn't show Windows, only Mac.

I have successfully installed Windows XP on my Mac with BootCamp, and I been having this issue where when I press the option key down on restart it brings up the screen where I can then select a operating system, problem is Windows is not shown at all, only Mac. I called support twice, the first time we tried some troubleshooting things to see if that would work, and it didn't. He suggested I re-install windows, so I did that, and that did not work either. So the second time I called they said they will make a case about it and consult the engineers or who ever, and they would get back to me. I was never contacted back about this issue. So I decided now to see if anyone here can help out.
p.s. I can get into Windows, but its a hassle, I would go into system preferences and change the setting to boot into Windows as default, and if I wanted to go into Mac....well, I would restart and press the option key, and Mac would be listed, but no Windows.

did you try "rEFIt"? it's a bootloader that can help you enormously.... also, try to burn a liveCD of GParted, it's a linux partitoning tool and you can inspect your partition info after booting with the liveCD - don't be afraid, it won't do anything to your hard drive. -- the xp partition flag should be set to off in order for it to be recognized by boot camp. but in any case, install rEFIt first!!! it works together will boot camp, it's a must-have for all macbook users. install that app to your OS X, not xp.

  • I have a big problem! My ipod touch is stuck! it won't open, all I see when I open it is the itunes icon with a USB cable and an arrow! What can I do? I've tried connectingit with itunes, but itunes doesn't see it. plus i have windows 8

Can't connect my ipod toch to itunes!!! It doesn't see it! I use windows 8, don't know if that's the problem. Anyways, my ipod is stuck! Every time I open it, it stays stuck with the image of a USB cable with an arrow pointing towards an itunes icon. but whatever I do, my computer doesn't see it, and neither does itunes. What to do???!!!

The the remaining items of the following, you may have to let the battery fully drain.

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • ITunes 9.2.1 doesn't see my iPhone 3G 4.0 on Windows 7 x64

Hi everyone. I'm running Windows 7 x64 and have been having this problem since I updated my iTunes to 9.2. The problem is I plug my phone in, and iTunes doesn't see it. After plugging it in, iTunes seems to struggle a bit, lags, before finally running smoothly again. The phone doesn't appear in iTunes, though my computer detects it and I can browse the photos like I always could. Any help is appreciated!

    yup same here
its a crapshoot, sometimes it happens other times it does not
only way round this i found is to do this:
    reboot windows
    and reboot iphone
eventually they will see each other.
what causes it? poorly coded itunes for windows, who knows.
but its something i've had for many versions now, 9.2.1 is nothing new. but it does seem to happen more now.

Windows 7 using "MTP USB Device" driver so it recognizes that it's an Apple iPod but iTunes doesn't see it. I have spent the entire day following the "install/ininstall/start AMDS/stop AMDS" instructions ad nauseum...still no love. Frustration maxed out!

Third-party NTFS software interferes with the Apple NTFS drivers, which control whether you can see the Bootcamp partition in the Startup Disk option. As a test, can you uninstall all third-party NTFS software and check System Preferences -> Startup Disk?

  • Windows doesn't see my iPod

I had my ipod connected and it worked just fine, I had to force my computer to turn off, hold down the power button, and now my computer doesn't see my iPod. I tried the data mode and the resetting and the restarting the computer. I can't restore the ipod, because I can't get the computer to see it. The ipod alone works wonderfully and it is charging. So it sees that it is connected to the computer, but the computer doesn't see it. Any ideas?

I cannot download my new music because my ipod is not recognized. My usb port is working, I downloaded the new ipod version for nano and it is still not working. It does recharge when plugged in so why wont it recognize my ipod when plugged in ? Any help most appreciated.

  • Skype for Windows doesn't see my Samsung WEP200 bl...

I paired a Samsung WEP200 bluetooth headset with the USB bluetooth adapter on my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop running Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit. When I select "Show Bluetooth Devices" from the Bluetooth dropdown menu, I see "Audio devices/WEP200/Passkey enabled" but Skype ver. 5.5.59.124 doesn't see the bluetooth headset at all, neither the "speaker" nor the "mic". Do I have any hope of getting it to work? TIA.

Out of curiosity, do you have any "mirror" driver installed - i.e., something like PC Anywhere or RAdmin or other package designed to allow someone else to control your user interface?  These are known to get in the way sometimes.
There is a registry tweak to force Photoshop to use the OpenGL features of your video driver.  It's for diagnostic use only, but it could serve as a workaround until you can get to the bottom of the driver problem (perhaps it will be solved in an upcoming release of the ATI drivers).
Some of the information in this thread might help you:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/2954477
Note that the registry tweak is good for diagnostic purposes, and enabling GPU acceleration where Photoshop does not believe the driver can support it can lead to instability and crashes, with loss of data.  It will be interesting to know whether the ATI mobility drivers can support proper OpenGL operation on your system.

  • It appears since my Windows PC McAfee AV subscription expired my PC's iTunes doesn't see my two Apple TV2's.  My computer has internet connection thru router and my ATV has internet connection thru same router.  My iPad can see the ATV but it can't see iT

My Windows PC iTunes doesn't see my two Apple TV2's (in the speaker button in lower right of iTunes), I believe this problem began when my PC's McAfee AV subscription expired.  My computer has internet connection thru router and my ATVs have internet connection thru same router so it's not a networking issue.  My iPad can see the ATVs but it can't see iTunes so the problem appears to be PC/iTunes related.  I turned the PC's firewall off but no joy.  I uninstalled the expired McAfee and still no joy.  Reboot = no joy.  Glass of scotch = no joy.  Need help!!

Wanted to add that I turned on Home Sharing w/the same account in iTunes and ATVs.  And I've successfully streamed music/photos to my ATVs for over a year.

    Hi Emma,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your Thunderbolt display is just showing a black screen when you boot your computer. The following article should be of help in troubleshooting your display.

  • I want to use Windows on my Mac, but Boot Camp doesn't work (Mac OS X 10.7.3)

Everyone knows that w/ Boot Camp you can use Windows on Mac, but I can't.

    common issues:
downloading the drivers with Boot Camp Assistant
Not reading the guide from in Boot Camp Assistant
Wanting to use XP (not supported)
    Not enough disk space
Space is too fragmented - and people don't know or understand the error or how to even backup and then erase and restore (very basic part of prevention and use of computers).

  • Login Window Doesn't Show Windows Domain Straight Away...

    Hi Folks,
I have a workgroup of Power Mac G5’s running OS X 10.4.4. The user accounts are stored in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory Server (ADS), however there is a local Administrator account on the workstation.
When the computer is restarted it boots up to the login window but for some reason the G5 doesn’t see the Windows ADS domain straight away so it doesn’t list the “Other…” account. If I login as the local Administrator and then log out the “Other…” account then shows. It also shows if I unplug the network cable and then re-plug it in. Once I am logged in as a user the connection is nice and quick with no physical problems.
    Is this a bug?
I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, for example, can I make the boot process wait until Samba has fully started, or can I add a 5 second pause in somewhere, or can I tell the login window to refresh every 5 seconds?
    Thanks,
    Andrew McCall

    Hi again,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have done the unbind and performed the bind operation again, but its still happening. I have now put a second system in and its doing it on that one too.
I was wonding if there is some way of making sure that Samba is fully started before the login window appears.
    Thanks,

  • MacBook Pro doesn't see hard drive

My MacBook Pro doesn't see it's hard drive. It doesn't show up when I press the Option key or in Disk Utility on the Snow Leopard disc. It was working for a while and then the computer started freezing, mainly when I was using Xcode. I thought it was an OS problem originally. Then it would occasionally not see the hard drive and come up with the "?" folder. It steadily got worse until it reached where I am now, not working at all. It doesn't see my Windows XP partition either. I have reset the PRAM and NVRAM, but to no avail. The OS boots just fine when I put the hard drive in a different MacBook, so it's not the hard drive. I have taken great care of this computer, rarely taking it out of the house. I did buy it used with a backlight problem though, so I don't know exactly what the previous owner did. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751
Or if you have Diskwarrior or Techtool Pro use one of these utilities by booting directly from their cd.

  • M8530f desktop PC with a m2n78-la mother board doesn't see my drives

i have a m8530f desktop PC with a m2n78-la mother board it doesn't see my drives for some reason. i thought it might be a bios problem. is there any way to fix this or do i need to get another board

Before you begin, disconnect everything from the computer (USB devices, printers, floppy disks, and CD/DVD discs) but leave the mouse, monitor and keyboard connected. You already checked and made sure that the power and data cables have a good connection to your drives and the motherboard now go to your BIOS Setup (should be F10) and reset the BIOS to its' defaults (should be F5 and then press the enter key). Arrow over to the Main screen and the hard drive should be recognized. Exit BIOS and save the changes. The computer should load the Windows OS if it's installed on the hard drive. If you get into Windows, check the Device Manager to make sure that the drive is showing up there too. If the hard drive was not detected, after you save the changes and exit the BIOS, turn off the computer. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the PC then press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the computer and see if it boots up.  If it still doesn't boot up, try a different SATA connection on the motherboard (one that hasn't been used). If that doesn't help, disconnect the Memory card reader connections inside the computer and try to boot again. If it still doesn't work and since you already tried a new hard drive, I would suspect a SATA controller/bus problem and you may need to install a SATA controller card to resolve the problem.
