Bootable CD not detect in boot sequence

We are having 4 nos of Desktop PC Model:  Z 230 Workstation.  Found bootable CD was not detecting in boot sequence while same CD is working fine in other Laptop.
By pressing F9 goes to boot sequence but there is in 'UEFI boot sources' bootable CD was not detecting.
Restatred PC 3-4 times but same result.   Selection of ATAPI CD/DVD drive also not worked.

    unable to install operating system please help

    Hi,
    If the CD/DVD drive is not showing as a bootable device, then it could well be a hardware failure of the drive itself. The first thing you could try is to reset the bios defaults, save the changes and see if this helps.  Next, I would check the connection of the CD/DVD drive in case that is the problem.
    On the link below is the service manual for your PC.  Page 50 explains how to remove, and if necessary, replace the CD/DVD drive.  It also has the parts numbers should you require a replacement.

  • Hard disk not detected during booting or also it does not show in boot menu.

    hard disk not detected during booting or also it does not show in boot menu please tell

    you may have a failed hard drive or bad cables, i would check first to see if the hard drive is powering on. if it doesn't try a different power connection, and if it still doesn't start spinning i would say that it is bad and get a new hard drive. If
    it does start spinning and just isn't being recognized, try a different sata port if you have the option or a different sata cable all together.

Just to be sure, go to bios and set everything to default. Save and exit. See if you can now see the hdd in the bios.

  • Application not detected in Task Sequence

    Hello,
    I have problems with some applications in a task sequence with SCCM2012 R2.
    The applications install fine in a normal deployment via Software Center and get detected after the Installation.
    The same applications get installed in a TS but are not detected after the Installation (according to AppEnforce.log) and the TS fails.
    I already tried all kinds of application detection methods (file system, registry, MSI, custom script) but without success.
    When the TS fails I checked manually (pressing F8) where detection should have looked and the requirements are met.
    Thanks in advance for your hints and solutions.

    Hallo Salthaus_de
    Tbh, it might work if you do as you just said, move it over to a package, and it might not Work. :)
    The most typical reason that this happens is that your application install ends before it is done doing what it should. I have seen this happening alot with "Autodesk" products, they start a "setup.exe" which spawns another "setup.exe" and exits the first.
    This then tells SCCM, the setup.exe's PID you requested to look at has ended, and you can now do your detection check.
    This Means it will be installing for another 15 minutes, and taking up msiexec.exe - which Means the applications installing after this one possibly could end up not installing with the errorcode, another product is currently being installed.
    Based on this i would still, eventhough the "workaround" Works, as it should, find out why this happens.
    Just my 2 cents, what you do NeXT is up to you. :)
    Kind regards

  • Bios RAID Partition Not Detected at Boot

    Hello everybody,
    I've got a problem that's really a minor annoyance.  I have two 1TB hdds set up in RAID-0 and my system (Arch x64) on a separate ssd.  When I boot up, the RAID volume is not detected automatically.  I have to manually run partprobe, then the partition is detected and I can mount it as expected.
    I've been unsuccessful as to finding a solution and was hoping you guys could help.  Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance, and let me know if you need any more information.

    Yeah, it's a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H motherboard, and I'm using the two Marvell sata ports for the RAID.  It's detected and works flawlessly in Windows; the RAID0 volume is formatted NTFS.
    And, like I said, when I load up Arch, after I run partprobe as root, I can mount and use the volume just as well as I can in Windows.  I'd just like to have it all done automatically.

  • [SOLVED]: wusb600n v2 adaptor not detected on boot

    Hi,
    I've only just installed arch linux. Only thing installed, on top of base and base-devel, is yaourt netcfg ntfs-3g-ar and the driver for the mentioned wireless adapter (and all the dependencies for these).
    I'm having issues with the wusb600n v2 wireless adapter, I can't automatically connect to a network on boot using netcfg and network-profiles because it isn't detected on boot (can't find interface ra0).
    Just after booting and using lsusb shows that the adapter isn't connected, though it is.
    Unplugging and replugging in the adapter after booting up it shows up in lsusb and I can then connect to the internet as normal.
    Just wondering if anyone can give any suggestions as to why it isn't being detected during the boot process.
    edit: if there is any additional information that needs to be provided let me know
    edit: I think it may be a dodgy usb port, plugging the device in a different usb socket and everything seems to be working fine now ......Hope everyone has a good Christmas!
    Thanks,

  • MBP 2011 - Ext. Screen not detected during boot

    Hey everyone,
    I got a new MBP 15" (2011) and I'm having issues with my screen (Acer X243HQ) during boot. It just doesnt get recognized when I boot the machine. Everytime I need to unplug it and plug it back in - which gets kinda annoying as the MBP mainly serves as desktop-replacement for now.
    Anyone else having these issues?

    Alright, I will definitely give it a try.
    I´ve read on various sites and forums, that gnome-shell has some problems with the catalyst driver - Any expericence with that?
    So far I didn´t even get to start a X session, but I tested gnome-shell with ubuntu some while ago, and now want to use it witch arch.
    Besides I would love to see the intel-card running, as it gives me way better batter-life and I don´t really need the power of the Ati-card.
    Is there any way to, at least narrow down whats causing the problems with the intel-gpu?
    Anyways, I really appreciate that you take the time to help me with my problems

  • Mac Pro not Detecting Bootable USB Drive to Install Snow Leopard 10.6

    Hi
    I have to Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon. I have been running Leopard on them. I wish to install snow leopard, so i took out my USB HDD where I have made a Bootable Partition with snow leopard. I have used this in the past on all my machines to install snow leopard. Now when I try to install Snow Leopard from this on my mac pro, it does not detect in the "Option Boot" start up menu, it only shows my leopard disk. If I got to start up disk in system preference, then it shows my Snow Leopard disk, but when i select that as start up, it still boots to my Leopard..
    Since I am doing a fresh Install , I have another HDD installed, formatted for snow leopard. When I launch snow leopard installer from Leopard and select install in the new drive, it does some installation , but when restarting  it goes to my leopard again.
    This is the case on both the Mac Pro;s, but not on my laptops, I tried on my air and my macbook pro, and my friends mac book pro, it instantly boots up to the usb drive with snow leopard.
    So is there anything im missing ? Or is there something wrong with my Mac Pro's?
    I dont have the snow leopard DVD, else I would have tried that too..
    Please advice asap!!
    Thanks
    Sa1

    Hey
    Thanks for the reply!
    I have two USB HDD, with the copy from snow leopard dvd, and both are formatted in GUID, they work fine on my laptops and even the old mac mini, just not working on two identical Mac Pros.. Its very strange, as it keeps booting to leopard, and if I remove leopard Disk, and just put the new one and connect the USB dive, its shows a folder with a "?" mark sign!
    And the USB just works fine after its booted to leopard, it even starts installing snow leopard to the disk i assign, but it does not complete the installation as it boots to main leopard drive..
    I have tried to reset PRAM on both machine, I have changed usb slot..
    I dont know what to do!

  • Detect Note Changes in MIDI Sequencer

    Hi all,
    I’m trying to detect when the MIDI Sequencer changes notes using some kind of a listener to detect when the note changes occur. My example program is able to detect the end of the sequence and I’d like to be able to detect note changes and print a message in a similar way. Here is my example code.
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.sound.midi.*;
    public class SequencerTestApplet extends JApplet
        public void init()
            SequencerTest seqTest = new SequencerTest();
            seqTest.play();
            System.out.println("Print from init()");
    class SequencerTest
        Sequencer sequencer=null;
        Sequence seq=null;
        Track track=null;
        public SequencerTest()
            try
            {   sequencer = MidiSystem.getSequencer();
                sequencer.open();
                // detect END OF SEQUENCE
                sequencer.addMetaEventListener(
                    new MetaEventListener()
                    {   public void meta(MetaMessage m)
                        {  if (m.getType() == 47) System.out.println("SEQUENCE FINISHED");
                sequencer.setTempoInBPM(40);
                seq = new Sequence(Sequence.PPQ, 16);
                track = seq.createTrack();
            catch (Exception e) { }
        public void play()
            try
            {    // NOTE 1
                ShortMessage noteOnMsg = new ShortMessage();
                noteOnMsg.setMessage(ShortMessage.NOTE_ON, 0, 60, 93);
                track.add(new MidiEvent(noteOnMsg, 0));
                ShortMessage noteOffMsg = new ShortMessage();
                noteOffMsg.setMessage(ShortMessage.NOTE_OFF, 0, 60, 93);
                track.add(new MidiEvent(noteOffMsg, 16));
                // NOTE 2
                ShortMessage noteOnMsg2 = new ShortMessage();
                noteOnMsg2.setMessage(ShortMessage.NOTE_ON, 0, 68, 93);
                track.add(new MidiEvent(noteOnMsg2, 16));
                ShortMessage noteOffMsg2 = new ShortMessage();
                noteOffMsg2.setMessage(ShortMessage.NOTE_OFF, 0, 68, 93);
                track.add(new MidiEvent(noteOffMsg2, 32));
                sequencer.setSequence(seq);
                sequencer.start();
            catch (Exception e) { }
    }In this program the init() method starts the sequencer through the play() method and then continues on so that the “print from init()” statement is printed from the init() method while the sequencer is still playing. Then after the sequencer is finished, it uses the MetaEventListener to detect the end of the sequence and print the “sequence finished” message. I’d like to be able to make it also detect when the sequence changes notes in a similar way... Start the sequence and move on, but then be able to detect each time a note change occurs and print a message.
    Since I am putting the notes at specific midi ticks (multiples of 16, or “quarter notes”) I could poll the Sequencer using getTickPosition() to see if the Sequencer’s tick position matches a particular multiple of 16. However, the problem with this is it would lock up the program since it would be constantly polling the sequencer and the program wouldn’t be able to do anything else while the Sequencer is playing (and I also have a loop option for the Sequencer so that would lock up the program indefinitely).
    Here’s what I’ve found out and tried so far...
    I read in this [this tutorial|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/sound/MIDI-seq-adv.html] on the java sun site (under “Specifying Special Event Listeners”) that The Java Sound API specifies listener interfaces for control change events (for pitch-bend wheel, data slider, etc.) and meta events (for tempo change commands, end-of-track, etc.) but it says nothing about detecting note changes (note on/off). Also in the [EventListener API|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/util/class-use/EventListener.html] (under javax.sound.midi) it only lists the ControllerEventListener and the MetaEvenListener.
    I also read here that MIDI event listeners listen for the end of the MIDI stream, so again no info about detecting note changes.
    It seems like the sequencer should have some way of sending out messages (in some fashion) when these note changes happen, but I’m not sure how or even if it actually does. I’ve looked and looked and everything seems to be coming back to just these two types of listeners for MIDI so maybe it doesn’t.
    To be sure the MetaEventListener doesn’t detect note changes I changed the MetaMessage from:
    public void meta(MetaMessage m)
    {    if (m.getType() == 47) System.out.println("SEQUENCER FINISHED");
    }to:
    public void meta(MetaMessage m)
    {    System.out.println("" + m.getType());
    }so that it would print out all of the MetaMessages it receives. The only message that printed was “47” which indicates the end of the sequence. So the MetaEventListener doesn’t appear to do what I need it to do.
    I realize this is a rather odd problem and probably not many people have had the need to do something like this, but it never hurts to ask. If anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -tkr

    As another idea, since I can't do it with a listener like I originally wanted to, would adding a separate thread to poll the sequencer and send an interrupt when it matches a particular midi tick be a good route to try? My thinking is this essentially act kind of like a listener by running in the background and reporting back when it changes notes.Yep, that worked! :)

                   else
                        print = true;
    }I put in several print statements (with pauses in the init method) and the init print statements continue to be printed while the sequencer is playing, so it's not locking up the system and the "note change" statements happen when the sequencer changes notes. So this part is working perfectly! :)
    Here's what I got for my output:
    Sequencer Started
    Print from init() 1
    Thread Started
    NOTE CHANGE
    Print from init() 2
    NOTE CHANGE
    Print from init() 3
    SEQUENCER FINISHED
    Print from init() 4
    The only problem I'm having is how to "throw" this action back up to the main init method and have it do the print statement instead of the thread class. Throwing an interrupt apparently won't work as you have to poll it to see if it has been interrupted (so it'd be no different than just polling the sequencer to see if it equals the specific midi tick). Maybe throw an ActionEvent? But how to attach it to my applet? Would I need to create an instance of my applet and then pass that into the thread class so it can catch the ActionEvent? And if I do that will it stop the thread or will it keep the thread running so can detect the other notes?... Or is there a better/simpler way to do this?
    Thanks again,

  • "Your bootable USB drive could not be created" "Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation."

    I try to install windows7 system on my macbook air, which version is 10.8.5. When I open the bootcamp, it let me to choose a windows ISO image, which I've already downloaded from this website: http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325 /, it also asked me to select a USB drive, which is kingston that has 8GB. Then when I clicked "continue", it said that "Your bootable USB drive could not be created" "Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation." But actually the ISO image I downloaded is 64-bit windows7. I don't know why this would happen. Could someone help me please!!

    Thanks for your feedbakc Kiranjj!
    I identified the reason to be that the W8 installation file didn't download completely from a Mac OS-device. I downloaded from another Win-device and the moved the installation file with a USB-stick and then everything worked diectly! But thanks anyway.

  • PC not detecting drives, won't boot up passed HP Splash

    Hey, so randomly two days ago I left my PC on and awoke to it frozen on the HP start up splash. Going into the bios I realize my hard drive is not detected, later on my CD drive stopped being detected. I ordered a new hard drive and I'm still getting the same problem.
    I've done everything the support site says. I've switched back and forth between my new and old hard drive. I've tried switching the SATA ports its connected to on the mobo, I've tried disconnecting each piece of hardware one by one, but it still won't detect the drives. Still won't boot up Windows.
    The only thing I can do is run a linux off a USB Stick, but if I try to install of course, there's no hard drive detected. This can't be a mobo problem, can it?
    Please help, this is what I'm running.
    HP Pavilion p6310y
    Athlon ll X4 2.8GHz,
    6GB DDR3,
    1TB SATA,
    DVDRW,
    Win 7 Home Prem 64-bit.
    the new HD is a 2tb WD SATA, so I don't see why that would be a problem either.

    The Pegatron M2N78-LA (DDR2 & DDR3 versions) motherboards are dying.  Specifically the chipset on the motherboard dies which results in not detecting any drives.  HP Customer Support does not have it on a recall list and could not offer any real solutions.  Many have resulted in changing the motherboard to other MicroATX boards compatible with the HP (but you'll need to also puchase a new copy of Windows7).  Others have replaced it with the same motherboard from ebay (make sure you use the correct memory version)... however it is likely that the same motherboard would fail again.
    See this thread.  I had to replace one myself with another MicroATX board.

    If your model does not use the M2N78-LA (Stamped Right on the Motherboard) this would not apply.
