BootCamp 2.1 won't install - 64-bit XP SP2

When I try and run the BCUpdate.exe file that I downloaded (2.1) I get a message:
"BootCamp only works with SP2 or later". Thing is, SP2 is definitely installed (I have a slipstreamed install).
Everything works OK, except no internet connection, so I thought it might be a driver issue, hence the BC 2.1 install. I tried Network Diagnostics in XP. The BC version on my Leopard disk wouldn't work either.
Does anyone know what's up, or have a direct download link to the ethernet / networking drivers for a Mac Pro?
TIA,

I never have trouble with 'net connections. All wired and my modem and router are new enough and supported.
I do have 64-bit Boot Camp 2.0 that I got off a Mac Pro 2008, but even without that (and before BC was dreamed of). Also, Intel (and now MS) have the latest Intel LAN drivers which improve (reduce latency) connections.
Maybe today I can take another stab (and another stack of DVD coasters) at the CD ROM fix. If you have older Vista DVD around, I managed to install W7 from inside Vista. I've never tried booting from flash memory but that would avoid wasting DVD coasters - my one attempt and booting to OPTION screen didn't work (I haven't booted OS X in ages, nine months ago?).
I kept re-reading the steps and "instructions" and the writers sometimes list the way their mind worked through it, but not how to follow - and I feel like I don't fully understand parts of it.
One of the instructions for running oscdimg involves command line and some flags and options, but I don't know if there is a man page for those options, or what the flags are doing. I have to know why as much as how.

  • Bootcamp 2.1 won't install on Windows 7 64bit

I downloaded the 64bit Bootcamp and tried to install on Windows 7 64bit Retail Edition (RTM) and Bootcamp won't run. I tried compatability mode for Windows Vista 64 bit with and without SP2.
I need sound drivers. Everything else works on my Mac.
    HELP

    Install RealTek drivers for sound.
Maybe the 2.0.x Boot Camp drivers didn't get installed. You have to have those first.
Also.... 2.1 is OLD as the hills and was only for SP3 really, nothing there to improve on W7 or Vista SP1/2.

  • Trying to install windows on Mac using bootcamp, but windows won't install?

I've been working tirelessly on installing a burned to disk windows 7 on my MacBook Pro using bootcamp. Everything worked fine, I booted up windows but the problem was that it wouldn't install at all and just told me that the disk may be corrupted or missing? I noticed the disk was scratched so I reburned it to another disk. When I went to restart the Mac to boot up windows and try the installation again, a message came up saying: "NTFS - 3G could not mount /dev/disk0s4 at /volumes/untitled because the following problem occurred: dyld: library not loaded/ usr /local/libfuse.2dylib referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ntfs-3g reason: image not found." Could this be saying something about the disk? Is there an easy way to just install the **** thing?? In really tired with this, thank you do much for any help.

  • MTP device won't install

I wanted to install Ovi for my new N86-8mp, I continuously get the nmessage that my MTP device won't install, a bit of a nuisance since I want to use Nokia music. Th new hardeware wizard says something like: right section not found in INF section (in dutch...) Hardware manager shows some problems as wellin in CDC Comms manager.
I have tried the following: uninstall PC suite, remove folder 10208913 on private,  total reboots several times.WinXP profSP3

I've recently had the problem with my 5800xm & the failure to install the MTP driver issues.
When I first got my phone it would connect in media transfer mode & sync music from WMP with no problems whatsoever. It had been a while since I synced music to my phone & after ripping some new cds, I wanted to transfer them to my phone. Herein started all the MTP driver problems.
I tried allsorts to rectify the problem over several days, various installs/un-installs of Nokia PC Suite & Ovi Suite (going against everything I hate about Ovi, but they are not related to this post), installing MTP drivers direct from Microsoft, messing about with my PC's registry among the many things I tried.
Hunted high & low through these forums to find a solution, but just kept going round & around in circles, all suggesting the same remedies as above, all with the same result - no avail.
Then I finally chanced upon this very thread, tucked away in "connectivity". The only new solution was to locate the 10208913 folder in 'private' on the phone & SD memory card.
At this point I was willing to do anything to save my sanity from this problem that was becoming increasingly irritating to me.  Anyway, located & deleted said folder and honestly I wasn't expecting it to make a difference. Connected my phone via USB, the little balloon popped up "installing device driver software... Searching preconfigured folders"...
"not all this again" was my thought... and then...
    "device driver successfully installed"
Staring at the screen I was expecting to open my eyes and see my girlfriend waking me up with a cup of tea, as seeing that message must have meant I was dreaming!
So, after all this it came down to two silly little folders on the phone & memory card....
I can only wonder what has happened to Nokia not to have picked up on this issue and created an update or patch to resolve this problem. How many more people are there with this problem that have little knowledge of how to find the folders and delete them, and have resigned themselves to the fact that syncing music is not possible anymore and have dented their confidence in Nokia.
Anyway, thanks for the help & saving my sanity everyone!

  • Why does Bootcamp install 32-bit version of Windows 7?

I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) via Bootcamp on my mid-2011 Mac Mini Server.  The Windows install succeeds but I am unable to install the Windows support files.  When I try to run the Setup program in the Bootcamp directory, Windows won't run the file and says that the file is incompatible with the OS.
It turns out that Windows 7 is reporting that it's a 32-bit OS and, apparently, the Bootcamp support files are for the 64-bit version of the OS.
    Where have I gone wrong?
    Thanks,
    JZ

This is a case of me being ...well let's say 'inattentive.'  The Windows disk I was using for the install was indeed 32-bit.  I forgot that I have 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows 7 and I installed the incorrect version.
    Thanks for the reply, Rudegar.

  • ITunes won't install (at all) on my Windows 8.1 64 bit computer

I've tried downloading iTunes for Windows 8.1 64-bit computers and it won't install on my machine. I did everything like I think I was supposed to ... but nothing happens. In addition I've tried connnecting my iPhone 5S to a USB port ... nothing good happens. My computer recognizes the iPhone but it won't do anything with it. Also I've tried the suggestions from "windows 8.1 itunes wont recognize iphone: Apple Support Communitites" which entertains that I can open control panel ... find Device Manager and try to install new driver software from my disk ... with the suggestion that I 'browse' and find "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. ... and "Apple" does not exist under Common Files of either "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)"
    So now what????

What is the full text of the error message?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • Bootcamp drivers won't install

After installing Windows XP Home SP2, I insert the Leopard DVD to install the Boot Camp drivers. The installation begins and gets to the Broadcom network drivers, then I get a windows bluescreen for a second and the computer restarts. There are no wireless drivers or anything else installed. I tried downloading the BC2.1 drivers (.exe, but that will not run at all. I have re-installed Windows, but this does not fix the problem. The BC drivers simply won't install and crashes windows.

Hello...well, this might have worked for you guys, but not me.
The Bootcamp manual simply says that upon restarting, "just follow the Found New Hardware Wizard" and it's all set.
Well, the Hardware Wizard never appeared. Tried everything over again and still nothing.
I know you say to use the OS disc that came with my machine (a Macbook Pro), but I have been. Otherwise, I of course wouldn't have been able to install Bootcamp.
So, I've gone through the Bootcamp installation (after the windows installation) twice now, and everything seemed to go fine (meaning the wireless network is operational, and all other utilities that should be linking up with the OS X side of the computer), but on that previously mentioned restart (Step 3, Point #4, on Page 12 of the Bootcamp instructions PDF), the Hardware Wizard STILL doesn't come up....and yes, the disc is in the drive.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there any other way to make these drivers work? I, too, cannot stand the big fat blurry text/windows on the screen!
    Thanks!

  • Flash Player won't install on IE 9 Win7 64-bit

I've tried almost everything that this forum suggested but Flash player just won't install. Here is my story. A a month or so ago, flash just stopped working on IE 9. I uninstalled but now I'm unable to even download it. When click on download now, This is what it displays and nothing ever happens. I reset my IE settings. Under tools, Safety, ActiveX Filtering is uncheck. Under Manage Add-ons I just don't see the Active x for flash add-on I'm assuming this is because flash is not installed. I even did the whole Subinacl and reset.bat file but still I'm unable to download flash. Currently Flash works fine on Firefox which is what I'm using right now. I don't have any Flash cookie cop or any other software installed that blocks flash. Am I missing something? I really do not want to reinstall windows. Is there an other way to fix this problem? I am using 32-bit IE and not 64.
    thank you.

    Chris,
This issue was solved finally. I figured it out eventually. Some how the registry was locked by something called FlashBroker.
As you can see the logs below. The way I fixed this was by using ComboFix. I just ran the file and it cleaned out the system and fixed all registry problems. I'm now able to see flash on IE. I'm sure someone will eventually run into this issue again so it'll be helpful for you and others to know how to fix it.
Thank you for all your help.
