BootCamp 3.2 64 bit install difficulties

I am running Windows 7 64 bit on a MacBook Pro 17" that I purchaed in late 2009. Each time I try to run BootCamp 3.2 64 bit I receive the following error message from Boot Camp Services:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'BootCamp64.msi' in the box below.
How do I get around this error message to susccessfully install BootCamp 3.2 64 bit?

Yes, I have tried the Apple Software Update on Windows. I told it to install BootCamp 3.2. The download gets about 2/3 of the way through. Then an on screen window tells me to reboot to finish installing the software. I did the reboot. Following the reboot I still have BootCamp 3.1 showing in the About Boot Camp window. In the downloads directory I now have two copies of Boot Camp 3.2 but the software failed to install. When I try to manually install I get the error message above.

  • Bootcamp 3.1 (64 bits) can't be installed on Bootcamp 3.0 (32 bits)

I installed without problems Windows 7 (64 bits) on my iMac and everything works properly, except for the printer (not found) and the Magic Mouse.
When I try to install the Bootcamp 3.1 (64 bits) in Windows, I get the message "You have to install Bootcamp 3.0 first". But when I try to install the last (found on my OS disk), I get the message "This version (32 bits) will not work on this computer."
Where I can find a Bootcamp 3.0 (64 bits)? Or how can I fix that otherwise?
Thanks (and sorry if this was already answered somewhere - I took a look but just can't find the solution.)

Copy the whole contents to a folder in Windows and navigate to
    Apple - Drivers - Bootcamp64
    Control click and select Troubleshoot
Or, change Properties and choose Vista or Earlier Windows mode.

  • Downgrade from Bootcamp 3 to enable WinXP install

I want to install an old copy of Win XP on my '09 MacPro. This copy has worked fine with my '07 iMac. Unfortunately, the MacPro's version of Bootcamp (v3.0.4-325) will not allow installation of anything other than Win7.
Can I somehow downgrade to an earlier version of Bootcamp that will enable to install WinXP? thanks.

You have to use the 10.6 disk as it only comes with Boot Camp 3.0 which is what you need to get the other updates to work with Windows, they are only updateable sequentially. Meaning you can't use 3.1 or any other version first until you load the 3.0 drivers. 3.0 has drivers for XP.
One reason why the XP installer didn't work could be you don't have it formatted right, Windows installer HAS to format it, it doesn't matter what you formatted it as, via Disk Utility or whatever when you were partitioning it, the Windows Installer has to be the last one to do it.
Some of the requirements of Windows:
WIRED mouse AND keyboard, XP service pack 2 or larger and only 32 bit is supported.
If having issues with the keyboard, it's also been suggested to use another keyboard and even a Windows keyboard, it works for some.
If you do get XP to install OK and still get the alert for the drivers being incompatible then copy the whole Boot Camp folder from the 10.6 disk over to the desktop or empty folder in Windows and try it from there.
If you still have issues right click on the setup.exe and choose one of the compatibilities modes, (Vista I think usually works?)
Fully understand wanting to fully boot into Windows.

  • Is there a 64 bit install for Adobe Reader?

    Hello,
I want to make a note that I did a search on the form, using the following text
"Is there a 64 bit install for adobe reader?"
And I did not find my answer.  That is why I'm posting this as a question.
So, with that out of the way....
I am getting ready to build a new computer for myself, and will be running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  Before I begin, I want to make sure I have all of my software that I want installed, and I am doing research on each program to see if there is a 64 bit version that can be installed.  What I would like to do is have as many as my programs that I install be 64 bit as possible.  I know that not every program will be 64 bit, but I did want to get as many of them as possible to be 64 bit applications.
As I do want a PDF reader on my computer, and I have used Adobe Reader for years, I started looking on the web site to download the current version.  However, I did not see any place that I could download a 64 bit version of Adobe Reader.
That is why I'm here asking.  Is there a 64 bit version of Adobe Reader that I can download?  If so, where is it on the web site?
This does lead me to a follow up question.  Is there a 64 bit version of the Flash Player, as well as the Shockwave player?  If so, where can I download them from as well.
    Thanks in advance,

Again, I think you need to check the Microsoft web page, as I was able to find 64 bit versions of IE8 for download.
The URL to access the page is
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8
From that page, I am able to select a 64 bit version of IE 8 for the following Operating Systems
      -- Windows XP 64 Bit
      -- Windows Vista 64 Bit
      -- Windows Server 2003 64 Bit
      -- Windows Server 2008 64 Bit
Windows 7 is not listed as an option as it already comes with IE8 installed by default.
Looks to me that Microsoft has already released a 64 bit version of IE8.
In fact, I went ahead and downloaded IE8 for Windows 2003 Server x64 bit, and looked at the details of the file.  Each microsoft download has a digital signature associated with them, showing a date and time of when the exe was built.
According to what is shown below, IE8 for Windows Server 2003 has been around since Sunday, March 08, 2009.
So, what has adobe been doing since March of 2009?  IE8 has been 64 bit for well over 2 years now (it will be 3 in March of 2012). While I know that it does take time to develop new applications, I don't think it would take 3 years for Adobe to come up with a 64 bit version of Reader that could have been built under the 64 bit platform.

  • ExpressCard/34 not working in BootCamp Windows 7 64-bit. Apple's BIOS emulation does not give enough resources.

    MacBook Pro unibody, 15" 2009
ExpressCard/34 (Card is by Transcend TS-RDF1, JMicron chip for SD card) is not working in BootCamp Windows 7 64-bit. Windows reports:
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."
Other data points: Card works fine in Mac OSX, worked under Windows XP 32-bit (initially reported same problem, but works after reboot).
Checking the forums there seems to be no actual device suggested to actually remove that would help the problem. And even if it was, the concept is ridiculous. What other device would you like to remove? Display adapter? Network adapter? No way. I use all available devices and don't want to compromise.
It seems like BIOS emulation does not allocate enough resources to ExpressCard.
Are others having the same problem?
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Is there anyone at Apple who cares to provide a solution?

It is not a driver problem, but a problem in the BIOS emulated by bootcamp on some (not all) MBP models. So unless Apple fixes it in bootcamp, there is no real solution. And obviously, Apple doesn't care. They are dropping the Expresscard slot anyway.
Unfortunately, this poster seems right: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=912259 :
The 2008/2009 Macbook Pros don't allow to use the ExpressCard slot because of EFI/Bootcamp errors (Windows Vista/7 cannot allocate an IRQ to the slot). You don't need any drivers for using an ExpressCard slot on Windows, you only need the drivers for the corresponding card you are using.
Bootcamped XP allowed to use the slot, but you could not use hot-plugging.
    And from the Sonnet site ( http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempo_sata_express34.html ) :
Tempo SATA ExpressCard/34 not supported under Windows 7 or Windows Vista when running on unibody MacBook Pro computers. The problem is caused by the MacBook Pro's BIOS emulation, which doesn't allocate enough resources to support certain kinds of Expresscard/34 devices, such as a SATA controller, in these operating systems.

  • OBIEE 11g 64-bit install on Windows 64-bit

I wanted to solicit any experiences that the user forum is having with installing 11g on a 64-bit Windows platform. I understand that the Admintool/Job Manager will not run with the 64-bit installation package but we can install the newly released Client install to circumvent this. I am seeing many forums out there in which the 64-bit OBIEE install is done as Simple or Enterprise. My understanding is that this is useless as the bundled WebLogic utilizes at 32-bit JVM. There is a Doc ID out on Metalink (ID 1220564.1) that states one can only do a Software Install. So we have proceeded with the following steps of downloading first the Java 64-bit JVM, then a WebLogic instance utilizing the 64-bit JVM (java -D64 -jar xxx.jar) and finally the OBIEE Software Only install.
The issue we are running into is that the Install fails when attempting to start the OPMN. So during the install the "Executing:opmnctl start coreapplication_obips1
" fails and references the OPMN not starting. We are unable to start the OPMN service as well. We have a static IP, so this not the known issue with the loopback adapter. The other issue I saw was having to install the VC++ 2005 SP1 libraries per another Metalink Doc ID (1226254.1). This was all done, however, the install continues to fail.
It seems the lack of knowledge from support as well as the vague/lack of documentation is frustrating. I just wanted to ping the OTN community around this scenario.

Thanks Paul, really appreciate the update. Spent this morning rebuilding our environment with 64-bit (Win 2008) and starting from scratch. The install has now succeeded. I tell you one thing you pointed out is something we noticed when we proceeded with the second install. That was the WebLogic version. I had initially used .4 and on the second install we used .3. I am guessing that this may have been the issue.
I will verify with our Oracle resources and I hope this post will assist other when doing the 64-bit install as I think it is very vague in the documentation.
I will update the post with Oracles response as well.
Just as an FYI... the reason this issue came up in the first place was we did an Enteprise Install on 64-bit and found that the Gauge Charts weren't working in the SampleAppLite Subject Area. So I will add that to the Tags for this post.
Hope this post helps others and they don't go through the headaches of a wrong install type.

  • Drivers/Utilities CD..XP and VISTA..can I use vista for WIN7 64 bit install?

Drivers/Utilities CD's, that came with the p-35 Motherboard..XP and VISTA..can I use Vista for WIN7 64 bit install, or download the chip set drivers for Awin7 BEFORE the OS install??
    MSI P-35 Platinum
    Q6600 Core 2 Quad
    Presently XP 32Bit
    NVidia geforce 8600GT
    8GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400-800MHz
    Windows 7..waiting to be installed.
    Hello,
I WANT TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL.I have Windows 32 Home XP, I have the Win7 OEM I want to install.
When i bought my MSI mobo, it came with both the drivers and utilities for XP and Vista.   Can I use the chip set drivers and utilities for Vista, until i can go to MSI and download the latest chip set drivers?  When do i install these drivers....before the OS install, or after?
Can I format these drives first, go in the BIOS change to boot sequence from Raptor Boot Drive to the DVD/Rom to boot the WIN7 from, or should I format while installing Win7?
Someone on another forum suggested that 1) disconnect the two droves, then install the OS on the boot drive, and2) before win7 install, make the proposed boot drive (NOT THE DVD/CD ROM the first choice priority for the boot sequence....is this right?
Is it absolutely necessary to unplug the other two drives, while formatting and installing the WIN7 O.S.?  People tell me that there is a chance of the OS installing sometimes on the other drives.
Also, if I want to change the now present boot drive Local disk letter (C) to my storage drive (G) and the other two drive letters, can I do this in manage disks, anytime, or only during windows setup install?
    Thx

I've never had this much trouble hooking up a HDD.
I have two IDE DVD/CD ROMS.  (My RAID MODE was IDE in XP OS, and still is with WIN7.)
           I have three SATA HDD's.
After unplugging the SATA 2TB HDD while I installed the WIN7 OS on the 500 GB HDD (it was on the 74 RAPTOR, but I moved location, and made absolutly sure nothing went on my raptor)
So today I decided to re-hook up the 2TB Storage HDD, and when I did, I went into bios, and to the cell menu, and LOAD ALL DEFAULT SETTINGS, so it could see my newly installed HDD,which I had all my backup Data from the previous HDD. I also checked and the RAID MODE was IDE, and the boot sequence was the WDC 500GB Boot/OS drive, rebooted, then I got that annoying blanked out screen with that blinking cursor, so I got back into the bios, and changed the 1st boot to the IDE Pioneer DVD/CD ROM, 2nd boot to the 500GB HDD, and rebooted again..still got that blinking cursor.
I opened up the Mobo, checked and replugged all SATA, and power cables to the three HDDS, tried it again, then still got the blinking cursor.  Seems no matter what I change in the boot sequence,it never wants to boot properly
    ....AND THEN,
I started with TAB > POST> started WINDOWS, then once it opened up, I went to manage Disks, saw all three HDDs were online and healthy.  Win. Explorer also listed them in that folder, in device manager, it listed all three too.
     The managed window showed this:
    74GB    (system,active,Primary partition)                       Storage
    2TB     (Primary partition)                                           Excessive Storage
500GB  (Boot, page files,crash-Dump, Primary partition)   Operating system
Both the PCI IDE BusMaster and ON-Chip SATA Controller were both ENABLED.
Before I just got online, I tried RESTART, and it opened Windows the usual way,  so I hope I don't have any more problems. It worked fine BEFORE I just plugged in the 2TB HDD back in.
I pretty much did what everyone suggested, except for leaving in the 74GB Raptor when I installed WIN7, which prompted me to format the drive prior to installing the OS.  Also, when I changed the IDE, RAID,and AHC1, to the AHC1 Mode, just before I installed Window7, like a few suggested, I also had problems, so after the install, I went back and changed it back to IDE.  My Floppy was an IDE, but I removed it from my system, and disabled in BIOS, but even a few times I went into Bios and saw that thje floppy was 1st Boot, even though I changed to either the DVD/CD Rom, or the 500GB boot drive.
So what is the preferred boot sequence?

  • Legitimate newly purchased Premiere Elements-10 32-bit install files not available

    Friends:
I purchased an $1100 Nikon camera and the deal included OEM PS Premiere Elements 10.
Legit purchase with a CD and legit Serial #.
Can't install because what is Adobe's fault, not the camera vendor's and certainly not mine.
    Adobe's own published notice:
"The 64-bit version of Adobe Premiere Elements 10 only installs on Windows 7 64 bit. If you have Windows XP 64 bit or Vista 64 bit, it's necessary to install the 32-bit version. Because the Adobe Download Assistant automatically downloads the 64-bit version in error, it's necessary to download the 32-bit version manually through alternate means."
The problem is that the same holds true for installing on XP Pro SP3 and Adobe makes no mention of it in the above admission.
Then, Adobe's own Solutions 1, 2 & 3 for manual download all fail, even after fussing for days over it.
Even Solution 3, the last ditch option, fails perhaps because Elements 11 is out and Adobe has killed the 10 download Ftp sites.
Files I am unable to download from Adobe (without entrapment by so called Free Dowload sites) are:
    http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PRE/10/win32/PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.exe
    http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PRE/10/win32/PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.7z
How can I solve my dilemma, being denied my right to learn Elements from a legally purchased 10 and being
forced to purchase 11 instead on top it. Fair?
I am requesting Adobe politely to make it possible to download the Adobe recommended two files withou hassles.
I must mention in this context my own  (and thousands of others') sad experience with Flash updates. Just follow
my own (and others') posts in Adobe forums. Plus, just read the Internet posts along these lines:
"It's impossible to download anything from Adobe. I have given up and I have given up on Adobe products."
Not that I want to, but I am forced into echoing the same sentiment.
    Can anyone help, please ?
    Thanks,
    Pradip A.

    Hello Mr. Wright:
The download now works. Appreciate your help.
The ...7z file is 1.37 Gb long. I have super high speed Fibre Optic Internet connection with Bell. I rarely have the ocassion to download files of this size. After downloading more than 1 Gb, the transfer hung - either at the Client end, or at the Server end. Bell is sending tech Thursday to mitigate some line noise they detected. Hopefully, the stars will fall into the right place before long.

  • Firefox 11.0 32bit, Win7 64 bit, FP 11.2.202.233 64 bit install finishes, lists only 11.2.202.228

    Hello---
I have Firefox 11.0 32 bit running under Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 with all current Windows updates.
I am trying to install Flash Player 64 bit Non-IE installer, version 11.2.202.233.
I close Firefox before installing, installation says it completes successfully, loads Firefox, says Flash Player is working.
I load Add-ons Manager, check installed version of Flash Player, it lists as:
    11.2.202.228
Which is obviously the previous version.
I have tried this repeatedly, with exact same result.
I have also tried the links available on Filehippo.com,
on the off chance the Bootstrap Downloader was causing the problem.
The full Non-IE 64 bit install package yielded exact same results as described above.
I would like to complete the install of the new version properly but it doesn't appear to be working.
I have no Antivirus products installed, and I am allowing the Bootstrap Downloader through my Software Firewall,
download and install both register as 100% successful so Firewall is not the issue.
    Thanks,

As reflected in my poste (copy below), I am getting the same thing on multiple Windows PC's, both 32 and 64 bit.
BTW, As indicated below, I see Firefox reporting the older version of Flash when I go to the Adobe test page.  Where do you see this in Firefox Add-Ons Manager?  I cannot see any listing for Flash anywhere in there.  Can you please be more specific.  Thank you.

Firefox 11 Not Reporting Correct Version of Flash v. 11.2.202.233
This question is Not Answered.(Mark as assumed answered)
Today (April 14, 2012) I installed the new Adobe Flash v. 11.2.202.233 on four computers (several Mac and several PC/Windows).
Eveything went fine except that Firefox does not seem to have the new Flash on any of the Windows PC's (it worked fine on Mac). That is, when I go to the Adobe test page (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/), it is reporting that Firefox is using the immediately prior version 11.2.202.228. However, all other Windows browsers (e.g., Opera, IE, etc.) all report the correct version on that test page.
And I checked Windows Programs and Updates and it shows version 11.2.202.233 installed.
So, why is Firefox 11 showing the old version? Anyone have any ideas and hopefully a fix?
    Adobe, you should fix this.

  • 32 bit is installed on my 64 bit Win 7 system - how to get 64 bit installed?

It appears that my Win 7 64 bit system has the 32 bit version of iTunes running even though I've been using the 64 bit installer. It's possible it's had the 32 bit version previously and I didn't realize it; I only started looking deeper because it's running terribly.   I looked at the Task manager and all the Apple processes are 32 bit.
How do I get 64 bit installed instead?  Do I need to completely deinstall iTunes first? If so, how can I not lose all of the apps and music I've previously downloaded? Would the library have to get recreated from scratch too?  I have two iPhone 4's and will soon add a 4s to the collection.

Because Windows comes with a 32 bit AND a 64 bit Internet Exploder. Adobe can't change that.
The ActiveX installer puts both plug-ins on your system per Microsoft requirements.
    C/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash and C/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash
Or, perhaps you're referring to the "Flash Player (32-bit)" in the control Panel.
THAT'S the Global Settings Manager, which IS a 32 bit application ,and again, per Microsoft requirements, it MUST be listed as a 32 bit app in the Control Panel.
