Bootcamp 3.2 and Windows Drivers 2.2

Hi all,
i'm a little bit confused: There's Bootcamp 3.2 and there are seperate Windows Drivers (current Version 2.2).
So, does the Bootcamp 3.2 update include a Windows drivers that are included in the 2.2 version of the drivers download?
Since i updated to Bootcamp 3.2 i have some issues like: Display drivers issue an error (NVIDIA display panel extension can't be loaded), also NVIDIA desktop manager can't be opened (i worked fine when running Bootcamp 3.0).
I thought about running the Drivers 2.2 update, too but since it's nearly 1 year older than the Bootcamp 3.2 update i didn't do so.
Just in case: i'm on a MacBook Pro running Windows XP (NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M, Driver version 6.14.11.8861).
Thanks: Lars

Hi,
it's easy to get confused.
The 2.x Driver packages were introduced with OSX 10.5 Leopard.
The 3.x Driver packages were introduced with OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard.
When you have the 3.2 Drivers installed you are up to date with the Drivers Apple provides.
Nonetheless, especially the Graphics Drivers "outdate" the moment they are released.
There might be a newer / better driver for the 9400 M avaiable at Nvidias website.
As always with driver updates: have/make a backup before or at least a 'System Restore Point'. Just in case.

Stefan

  • Problem Bootcamp 5.1 and Windows 8.1

    Hi evereybody.
I'm using my mac with windows 8.1, but I can't use the trackpad. I found the new version of bootcamp: 5.1.5621 to upodate the drivers, because currently i'm using bootcamp 4. My mac is compatible but when I launch the setup.exe installation, I have a problematic message: "Bootcamp needs your computer run windows 7".
    Any help?
    Thank in advance.

  • I already partitioned my hdd via Bootcamp, supports downloaded, and windows is on an external USB. How can I start installing Windows now? at startup it doesnt show up as bootable device...

    hi,
I am having a problem installing windows via bootcamp.
I already partitioned my hdd via Bootcamp, downloaded and copied all the supports for windows, and windows is on an external USB as well. I had to stop the process the other day, so i shut down the computer. Now I am trying to boot from the USB, but I cant get to that point where the computer should restart and windows would start installing.
. After restarting, holding command, it doesnt show up as bootable device.
How shall I move forward? My disk is already partitioned, and if i start the whole process from the beginning, it wants me to partition again - although I already made a 100GB partition for windows.
    Please help me out.
    best,
    Zoltan

So, here is what happened when I tried to make it.(sorry for quality, i had to take them by phone)
At first when I opened it I saw that I could simply resolve it just by stretching the arrow at the bottom, giving the 100 GB back which I partitioned before via Bootcamp. At this point options was not available.
I didnt do it because you mentioned earlier that it might be not designed to install windows.
The second thing I tried I choose 1 Partition from Partition Layout. This time Options were available but I didnt see anything like GPT, the onces that are optionable are on the screenshot.
What do you think how shall I move on? I was thinking to give it a shot with option 1, just stretch it back and try everything from scratch.

  • FYI...Bootcamp 4.0 and Windows 8 installed without any problems.

After upgrading to OS X Lion, I formatted the Windows 7 partition on my MacBook Pro.  I downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview and created an install disk.  I had to insert the disk and boot to OS X, then select the DVD as the startup disk.  A re-start booted to the Windows install screen.  Windows 8 installed, then I ran the Bootcamp 4.0 drivers from a flash drive.  Everything is working just fine...Hope this helps.

Because it does not work properly for me, am wondering if you have tried to create a shortcut to Desktop for your internet connection.
I right-click to disable the connection when not using it, and to enable as required and to see status. This has worked in all previous Windows versions including Windows 8 Developer Preview. I have put the question to http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/w8itpro but gotten no answer.
The way to get a shortcut is to right click the network icon next to sound in the task bar, selecting Open Networking & sharing. When there, select change adapter settings. In resulting screen, right-click your active internet icon & select Create shortcut - answer yes to get it to desktop.
You can drag it to taskbar to keep desktop clear. My problem is that while right click option allows disable, with next right click there is no enable in popup so I have to select open file location and left click adapter to enable it.
Wondered if it might be related to Bootcamp, Apple drivers somehow.
Otherwise everything is fine and TV with set top box works in Windows Media Center which is one up on Windows 7 Pro.

  • Bootcamp 2.0 and Windows 7 issues

I currently have a 17" Macbook Pro circa 2008, currently running OS X 10.5.8. I've had it partitioned with Windows 7 for almost the entire time I've had it and just recently I reformatted the Windows 7 partition after it began to crash a couple of times. After I reformatted it I no longer have any sound, which I remember being a problem the first time I partitioned my harddrive but somehow I managed to solve that problem, however this time I havent been so lucky. Because I'm running Leopard I only have Bootcamp 2.0 so I was wondering how I update Bootcamp to whatever is the latest version and if it would have the neccessary drivers for Windows 7. I realize I cannot upgrade to 3.0 etc. b/c those are for the newer versions of OS X from what I understand but I have seen things about BC 2.1 but I have no clue how to update to it.
    Thanks

You would need to purchase Snow Leopard from your local Apple retailer or the Online Store.

  • Issue with Bootcamp 5.0 and Windows 7: Ultimate 64-Bit Install

HERE are the specifications of my iMac.
I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64x on a 150GB partition i created using bootcamp 5.0.  I get to the point where it finalizes the windows setup, and then it says "Setup Up Desktop for first use" or something of that nature, it restarts then, and goes straight to a black screen with a black cursor.  I have tried to get to the BIOS to change the boot order (thinking it may be something to do with the boot order) but I won't even let me access that!  Any fixes would help a lot!!
I was using parallels before this, but I want a seperate partition so I can play games that are too high demanding (graphics wise) to run in a VM, the crash on start every time. Some run, but very choppily.
Also, I am running the latest edition of mountain Lion if that helps...

    ANYONE!?

  • BootCamp v3.1 and Windows 7 OVERHEATING

    ALCON,
I've had Windows 7 Home Premium installed for a little over two weeks now and the temparature gets so hot that my MBP will actually auto-shutdown.
It gets as high as 195F/90C!
    1. I do not run any heavy programs or graphic intensive work. Just running a stock trading graph chart that is currently only available for Windows.
    2. Even if I do not run anything at all the computer will get intensly hot within the hour.
    3. The MBP sits on an angled metal lift that only touches the computer on 4 dime sized points under the laptop (to give ample clearance below for heat syncing and typing comfort); no different than Blue Lounges "cool feet".
I can use Windows 7 while in BootCamp for about an hour (usually have to stop b/c it gets so hot) and then quickly boot into Mac OSX and the temparature reading on the SMC Fan Control is sitting at over 195F which tells me that BootCamp running Windows 7 is actually running much hotter and I am only reading the temperature after it has cooled down a bit.
My specs are below as per my signature block.
Is there anyone having the same problems of overheating and auto-shutdown?
Anyone have any fixes to this issue?

This article is interesting because the new i7 MacBook Pro's are also having the SAME overheating issues:
    http://www.pcauthority.com.au/News/172791,macbook-pro-helps-core-i7-hit-100-degr ees.aspx
I've now met another person who has the same overheating problem when running Windows 7 and BootCamp v3.1.
    Apple, are you listening?!

  • Bootcamp 4.0 and Windows 7

after following the instructions in creating  a windows partition and installing Windows 7, after reboot, its asking for a CD Rom Type: 1. 2.    I  had no problems installing Windows 7 in a virtual envioronment.

    have a look here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=467704 for instructions/solution.
Basically you have to make yourself a copy of your Windows disc using the files of that disc and a programm called oscdimg.exe plus a burning program.
And it had to be done on a Windows PC or in virtualized Windows (using Parallels/Fusion/VirtualBox) on your Mac.
    Hope it helps

  • Upgraded to Yosemite and Windows 8.1 Pro in Bootcamp, can no longer drive retina display and two external monitors simultaneously?

    Greetings
I just upgraded from Mountain Lion and Windows 7 Ultimate (Bootcamp) to Yosemite and Windows 8.1 Pro on a late 2012 MBP 13" Retina. Prior to the upgrades, I was able to drive the retina panel and two external monitors simultaneously when operating directly in Bootcamp. Now, I can only drive 2 of the 3 simultaneously though all three are recognized under Graphic Properties. I simply cannot find any option or profile under Graphics Properties or Options or Personalization to run all three screens.
My hardware hasn't changed and this worked prior to the updates. I have no issue on the Mac OSX can run all three. I also have no issue doing it in Windows under Parallels Desktop 10. It is just when I boot directly into Bootcamp that this happens. What am I missing?
    Thanks,
    G.

Great point, Loner T.  It was late when I was working and I thought about this afterwards also.
The issue was that in Windows=>Control Panel=>Display, under "Change Display Settings", the three screens showed but "Extend Display"  was not selected for one of the screens. It was simply off. I can't believe I danced around this w/o picking it up sooner. In fact, it has happened in the past that for some reason a display loses this setting.
As an aside, thanks again for all of your help and terrific input to upgrade both the Mac and Windows operating systems. As I was going from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8.1 Pro, one thing I did come across that made life much easier was to upgrade first to Windows 8 so I could keep my apps. The jump from 7 to 8.1 would otherwise migrate my personal files, but not programs and require a lot of time to reinstall all. This was completely avoided by going to Windows 8 first.
Thanks, again, and very much appreciate the work that you do here.
    Best,
    G.

  • TS3173 This article discusses Windows 7 bluetooth and graphics drivers for late 2009 21" and 27" iMacs.  What about a late 2009 24" iMac?  A dealer installed Windows 7 on Bootcamp for me.  Neither the camera nor sound work.  Will this installer help?  Pet

I have a late 2009 24" iMac with Windows7 installed in Bootcamp by a licensed Apple dealer.  Sound and camera don't work.  Would this driver download help? Or is there a better solution?

You must install the Windows Support software. This support software contains the Windows drivers for your hardware. Since you are running Snow Leopard, the support software is on the Snow Leopard installation disk.

  • Bootcamp 3.1 and imac windows 7 64bit update not installing. Audio issues!

After many days of work getting the windows 7 working in bootcamp in my imac 27 (still with audio issues) I eagerly awaited the bootcamp update and imac updates.
    Neither will install.
Then I find that according to tech support as of now I have to reinstall Windows 7 again for the updates to work!
It took me 5 full 8 hours days to get all my scientific programs installed and working, now I find I can't even simply update the drivers I need. I don't want to reinstall.
    My only issues are audio.
    Here they are:
    1) The headset jack works fine on the Mac side, but in Windows 7, it causes the i7 intel CPU to go crazy. There is no CPU spike on the mac side.
    2) The headset jack in the imac is a trrs jack. The same as in the iphone, a tri-band jack that has three bands, two audio out channels and one mic in channel. A trrs headset works fine on the mac side with using the headset mic (as in iphone) rather than the built in mic. (this provides much better quality for sound recording). I don't want to use a usb mike.
In Windows 7 the mic part of the trrs headset does not work.
    3) In Windows 7 when going into audio devices recording, no audio mixer shows up, so when I do video or audio screen capture the only way to capture the sound is through the speakers and then back through the imac built in mic, rather than directly through the unit. (terrible sound quality) On the mac side the mixer element works fine.
Now I find from other imac users that even the new updates for the imac on windows 7 don't address and fix the audio issues. I am sure not going to go through 5 more days work only to find the audio issues still don't work.
I need these audio aspects to work properly though!
I have tried to get drivers for the cirrus logic audio card, but guess what there are none available and cirrus logic doesn't even recognize the board or offer drivers.
I have many windows programs I must have for my scientific research!I bought the top of the line Imac with all the bells and whistles because Apple promised that the machine could run Windows 7 in bootcamp natively!
It doesn't. This has been a nightmare of problems.
Is Apple going to step up to the plate and make good on their promises?
Does any one have a fix for any of the audio issues, or know how to install the new drivers without a complete reinstall of Windows?
Installing a few sound drivers and software should not require a complete reinstall. Getting the proper drivers for the headset jack audio in and audio out jack should be the most basic of fixes. Making the audio mixer work should be elementary.
If you are an Apple tech person or an Apple user that can help on these issues, please do!
    Thanks, Dr. Duke
    An American profesor in Europe.
PS I will post this under Imac windows 7 updates without a reinstall and under
    imac Sound issues.

On another thread a few people have responded saying that their imac has the same situation, the cpu is going crazy and the imac gets hot with headphones or speakers plugged in. But this doesn't happen in the mac side.
If you have an late 2009 imac and don't have these audio issues, let us hear from you. If you don't, lay out the problem here.
Here is my last two cents in to the inquiry.
Not only does the cpu run crazy but the imac 27 gets very, very hot. Since I unplugged the headphones, it runs much, much cooler.
Certainly, some Mac engineers should take care of this problem, it seems it is universal on all the imac 27's and from what I gather, the smaller screened cousins too.
Also, we certainly want a stereo mix option for audio in or out, or what is called "what you hear" or wave out. Imac is supposed to be much geared to multimedia apps.
Finally, the mic jack part of the trrs set up MUST be fixed! A lot of manufacturers are going to headset combo jacks as they call them, mic in and stereo out on the same tribanded plug. But, the old single jack for mic in and single jack for stereo out are two tiny parts of the hardware and super inexpensive for the manufacturer. Why in the **** to go to the "advanced" triplug if the **** thing doesn't work.
Mac has a great reputation. I hope they remedy these problems right away.
Anyone whose imac 27 or 24 whose headset plug is working correctly. Let us know! I don't think anyone's is, but I think that few people understand that their cpu is running so much faster with the plug in, plus few even understand the combo jack and the triband, or trrs audio jack! Out of 4 audio technicians I talked to, not one of them knew what a trrs jack was or that you even have a mic in jack as part of the headset jack!
When I told one senior that it worked on the Mac side, he didn't believe for a while, thought my sound might be recorded from the onboard mic, but I proved it to him by tapping iaudibly on my iphone mic headset and and it showing up in garage band clearly and listening to big difference in audio.
As for a usb audio adapter, I am in a neon light environment and find that those adapters are more sensitive to electrical interference. Besides I want to use the headset jack as it was meant to be used!
    Thats it.
Again, if anyone using an imac 27 and windows 7 64 or 32 doesnt have these problems, let us know! We are all anxious for a fix!
    Best to all!

  • Camera is not working on MacBook Air 6,2 with Bootcamp and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit -- how to fix?

I have a MacBook Air 6,2 that has been Bootcamp'd with Windows 7 x64 Pro. Everything works find except for the camera, which does not appear to work at all. In the Windows Device Manager it shows the camera as installed with a working driver, but the camera never turns on.
Any ideas on how to make it work?

    Hi,
If there is no error after the disk checking, please temporary disable antivirus, update BIOS and device drivers such as hard drive from computer manufacturer’s
    website to check the result.
If the issue persists, I suggest you boot in Safe Mode, and clear the temp folder. Delete every files that can be deleted.

  • Problems with Bootcamp and windows 7

I have a MBP (not sure what year it is, 2009, I think) 15" 2.53Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB. It has Leopard 10.5.8 on it and Bootcamp 2.0.
I have a Windows 7 install DVD and I would like to install Windows 7 under boot camp on it.
Bootcamp 2.0 looks like it's all about Windows XP and Vista, and when I insert the Windows 7 DVD it doesn't even recognise it.
Looking on the Apple support site in the downloads section I can see some updates to bootcamp - 3.0 and 3.1 - but they look like they're Windows exes?!?
My question is - what do I need to get Windows 7 installed on my MBP under boot camp?
    Thanks
    M

You have to have Windows installed first before you can run the Apple hardware device driver (mobo) set.
3.0 is a year old but any new 10.6.3 or later SL DVD would have later 3.0.x drivers.
BC 3.1 is 6 months past.
You can install Windows 7 just fine. As for suppport... I don't know MacBook but if it came with 10.5.x then it came out before Sept 2009.
You don't need anything other than Boot Camp Assistant, and that should work just fine. If you need BC 3.0+ later, SL DVD is $29.
