Bootcamp do i have to buy windows?
To use bootcamp do i have to buy windows? And If yes where is the cheapest place to get it
Newegg.com is a place to get Windows cheap. Buy an OEM version. It's the same thing as the retail version except you don't get the pretty (and pointless) box. You can save a lot of cash that way. They even sell XP

To use windows through bootcamp, do I have to buy a windows product key?
I don't exactly understand how bootcamp works and was wondering if I needed to buy a windows key to get the ISO file.
Yes you need to buy Windows -- i.e., you need a licensed copy of Windows.

If I download bootcamp will i need to buy windows 7 before I can install a PC game?
I want to buy the new star wars old republic game when it comes out. But its a pc game. I heard i could download a program called bootcamp. I just want to know if i will have to buy and install windows 7 in order to play a pc game on my macbook or can i just download bootcamp and install a pc game and start playing?
You don't have to download Boot Camp Assistant — you already have it in your Utilities folder.
Immediately after installing Windows, you must also install all the anti-malware garbage that a Windows computer requires, or your Windows partition will soon be awash in malware. -

Thanks

Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. No need to buy Windows (which you already paid for).
You probably don't even need to order the recovery discs. And you probably can do it yourself from the image on the hard drive.
See the section Recovering the Internal Storage Drive, which begins on p. 60 of the User's Guide.

If I were to buy the 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit, System Builder OEM DVD 1 Pack from Amazon to install Microsoft Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro, would it be compatible with my computer if I put it in bootcamp? (I have all of the current software updates)
In order to run Windows Applications, you must own the applications and, since they require Windows, you must own Windows. There are technologies like wine that will allow Windows applications to run without Windows, but they tend to be flakey at best.

Do you have to buy bootcamp?
I thought there was a utility that came with Mac OSX Leopard so you could install Windows XP. But is it something you have to buy additionally?
bootcamp assistant (it's in /Applications/Utilities) allows you to partition your startup drive so that you can install windows on the new partition. but you have to buy a copy of windows to have something to install. that's a microsoft product and apple doesn't sell it. the leopard install disk also provide necessary drivers that need to be installed after windows has been installed.

Dear Apple. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7 bootcamp install download from Apple
It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly. -
I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.
Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box. -
I bought Windows 7 for my Mac and I want to add it to my MacBook. Do I have to buy another Windows 7?

As the title has stated, I have recently installed Windows XP on my Bootcamp Partition. I am in need of the "Windows Support Software". I am assumeing that is the information that has the Drivers and what not that allow me o properly use my Mac with windows. If anyone can help me locate this inforamtion i would be greatly.... Greatfull.
P.S. The bootcamp assistant is telling me that the Windows Support Sofware canot be found. You both would have had correct awnsers, but i have a Macbook that is close to three years old. And i can't seem to find my Disc. The only reason i haven't ordered a new one in case of emergencies is I plan on upgrading to the new OS in less then a month.
I think the following may help me (In case anyone els is looking):

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:
GarageBand 6.0.5
GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system. But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio. Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

Cloning domains (WLS 7.0)
Is there an easy way to clone a domain, possibly to a different machine, in WLS 7.0? In 6.1 I just copied the domain directory, edited config.xml and bob was my uncle. But in 7.0 this doesn't work due to problems with encrypted entries in config.xml.
