Bootcamp every time downloading support software

Hi to all,
I just tried to install Window via bootcamp. This is my second time installation. I just formatted and repartitioned my Macintosh HD so I had to install windows again.
My experience give below sequentially:
1. I started the bootcamp to install windows. It asked for downloading windows support software and I inserted an Pen drive and downloaded the software in it. The down load was successful and after that bootcamp assistant window showed just the FINISH button. I clicked and the window goes off.
2. Again I opened bootcamp assistant and clicked next, it is going to download the drivers again. It is happening every time I start Bootcamp.
NOTE:
1. I have Three partitions in HDD.
     a. Macintosh HD, Mac OS Extended (journaled)
     b. WORK, Mac OS Extended (journaled)
     c. BOOTCAMP, NTFS
2. I have previously installed windows using bootcamp. The partition still exists(I didn't removed) after reinstallation of OSX but windows is not rstarting from that partition.
I badly need help.

It is an Apple server and the problem has been around for some time. Try again and it may work. The server is notoriously slow. If you know what version it is downloading you can try to get the download from here. http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/downloads/

Your profile says you are using Snow Leopard. There is no Windows Support software download for Snow Leopard. The Windows Support software is on your Snow Leopard Install Disk.

  • Why wont bootcamp install the windows support software, I am unable to create a bootable usb

I have an Acer PC with Windows 7. Files are corrupt on the hard drive and I need to install a fresh windows. I Need to use my iMac to create a bootable USB that i can put a windows iso on it to use on my laptop. Bootcamp will not allow me to do anything except partion my hard drive, or attempt to install Widnows support software, it fails and says tis not able to get the software. Im not sure what to do, i cant find anything after searching through forums, anyone have this problem?

OK, so I have an apple superdrive hooked up to my mini (along with my Passport back up drive).  I also have  the discs for both 64bit and 32bit Windows along with the product key.  I am still not sure what to do when faced with the options after "choose".

who is responsible for this ,, is it the WIndwos Microsoft Server or is this a Apple probelm ?   and how often does this happen ,, is this a common thing or is it one of the things that will work just fine tomorrow ??

  • Bootcamp utility in OSX Lion tries to format my Drive when i only want to download the support software for my existing install...

So i have a bit of a problem...
im using a Mid 2009 13 Inch Macbook Pro in dualboot.
Im running OSX Lion and Windows 8 Consumer Preview in dual boot, no problems...
However i only have bootcamp 3.x software on my Windows install and i want to install 4.x ...
i know that to get the 4.x software i have to use the Bootcamp utility in Lion to download it, here is where the problem is...
i run the utility and check the box next to download support software and uncheck the rest (i dont want to format my install or remove it) and im prompted for a save location, which i set to my desktop (because i can read it from windows). it then informs me that its trying to format my Drive...  My System drive!?  all i want is the software, nothing else...
is there a way i can download it directly? such as i direct link to the software from the servers?

Read carefully. You have to download the software to a FAT32 formatted USB flash or hard drive.

  • When trying to download Boot Camp Windows Support Software, error says: "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."

I use a Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010 on Mavericks and I've tried using the Boot Camp assistant to download support software for Windows 7. This gives the error "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."
Further, I tried to separately download Boot Camp 4 and 5. When I do this and try to install from Windows 7, it says that this version of Boot Camp is not for this computer and doesn't install. The result is that I have Windows 7 working and installed, but am unable to use the trackpad to rightclick, brightness settings, etc.
    Please help!
    Thanks

You need to run Bootcamp Assistant and select only the menu item to download the Windows Support Software. Follow the instructions. The download servers are extremely slow therefore it may take several hours to get the download.

  • Windows support software for bootcamp 5.1.2

Hey guys, I just finished installing windows 8.1 for my mac (MacBook Pro mid 2012). I realised that keyboards function aren't working (sound, light, etc.) and no wifi. It's because I do not have the driver install. The problem is, I cannot find windows support software for bootcamp 5.1.2 at all. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Boot Camp Assistant gives you an option to download support software during initial setup. If you have skipped this step, you can try with this download: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1720?locale=en_GB
If that won't work for you, you might have to remove Boot Camp partition and setup all over again.

  • Bootcamp Assistant fails - manually installing support software not an option

Bootcamp Assistant fails when it gets to the downloading support software stage.
I've seen other messages here saying there's a workaround that means manually downloading and installiing the support software. This doesn't work for me as the option to NOT automatically download and install the software is greyed out in Bootcamp Assistant. Why is that? Can I change it? If not are there other workarounds?

Thank so much for your response. In reply I should say that erasing the Macintosh HD partition (using the disk utility application - Photo Below) and re-installing the OS X wasn't any help.
I also would like to clarify my understanding of your first paragraph,  if you suggested that the issue could be related to my superdrive? Also would like to ask for further instruction on creating a thumb drive .
In the end I would like to thank you for your advice on the required partition size for windows installation.

  • I need to update to Maverick. I'm currently running OS 10.7.5 and every time I try to find a compatible update to even update to Mountain Lion, I can't find it. My computer is running slowly and I can't use iPhoto.

Okay, so I can't upgrade to Maverick because it's incompatible, nor do I happen to have thousands of dollars to dish out for a new Mac. I can't even find the next upgrade. Every time I click "Software Update" it finds nothing related to this. And it's also really important for me to be able to use iPhoto which lately just gives me the rainbow wheel of death even though I've tried several fixes.

There are no software updates for Lion (10.7) past 10.7.5.
If your machine supports Mountain Lion (10.8) you can buy it at the Apple Store. They'll send you a redemption code via email and you can use it at the App Store to download Mountain Lion.
    http://www.todaysiphone.com/2013/10/online-apple-store-offering-redemption-codes -os-x-lion-mountain-lion/
iPhoto is not part of the OS and each of those apps can be purchased via the App Store.

  • Where can I obtain bootcamp assistant 4.0.1 software

Where can I obtain bootcamp assistant 4.0.1 software?

If you had 4.0.1 on your OSX installation at some point and have a Time Machine backup, it can be restored. Bootcamp Assistant (not the Support software) is built-in into OSX as Rudegar says. The only other method is to re-install the OS it came with on an external drive and boot from it. It is an Apple code signed application, so please be careful when copying/trashing the Assistant itself.

If I remember right there "may" be a problem if you have a proxie settings enabled.
System Preferences/ Network/ Advanced/ Proxies. Can't remember which one or if it was an issue in 10.7 or 10.6. Just make sure their all unchecked and try again.
You might try a search in these forums for more information. Different fix's for different issue's.
    Sorry I can't help more.........

  • Bootcamp Help: Windows Support Software takes a long time to download

I know download time depends on the internet speed but its weird. I have a mid 2012 13" Macbook Pro and I have tried numerous amount of times to install windows 7. Last night it downloaded within a few minutes, and I have a 3mbps dial-up wifi connection, and my mac died as I forgot to put it on the charger as windows was installing and so I had to remove the windows partition and I let it download the Widnows Support Software over night. It never finished and it still said it was trying to download. It never moved any further. I try and use my iPhone 4S Personal Hot Spot with a 4G plan and it still wouldn't download. And my hotspot is twice as fast as my home wifi network. Is there any way to find where the software is downloading to and then copy it in case this happens again?

    Hi,
This could be also related add-ons.
Add-ons are apps that browsers use to interact with web content like videos and games. Incompatible or out-of-date add-ons might cause Internet Explorer to run slowly, crash, or prevent sites from displaying correctly. You might want to turn off all add-ons,
and then turn them back on only as you need them.
1.Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
2.Tap or click the Tools button Tools button, and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
3.Under Show, tap or click All add-ons, and then select the add-on you want to turn off.
4.Tap or click Disable, and then tap or click Close
If issue persists, let’s try to reset Internet Explorer settings.

  • Bootcamp Assistant: Downloading Windows support software... STUCK.

I've been trying for 2 days to get Bootcamp Assistant to run on my iMac 5K, and every time I've tried I get to "Downloading Windows support software..."  and it just stalls.   I even left it over night in hopes maybe it would advance some how, but nothing at all, just stuck at maybe 10%,
Anybody else get past this?   I see tons of people having installed Bootcamp already, how the **** did you manage it when you can't get appropriate drivers or software?

Wireless or wired doesn't matter (have tried both).
I've got a 150mbit down connection, which I've routinely run speed tests and other things since setting up the machine.  So I'm going to assume the connection isn't the issue.
Here's a dump of everything from the Console.  Any of it make sense?

Why can't I update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1? Every time I try it gets all the way done downloading it; however when it's processing the file the page tells me "There is a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. or try again later." and next to the file it has err = -3259. I have tried this 17 times and it won't work. My iTunes is completely up to date. I have made sure that my connection is fine and I have tried turning my firewall off with no avail. This has happened to me before but usually the update will go through after 2-3 tries, never to this extent. I don't know what to do. Help!

Error -3259 is a network timeout error, usually. This article might help:
