Bootcamp Issue with headphones

Hey guys I recently reformmated my Windows Bootcamp Partition, and everything was fine at first until I had an issue with my headphones.
Sound sounds very muffled and underwater like. Its definitely not the headphones because they work with my ipod and I tried a different headset and those still have that muffled effect. Its not the jack because it works just fine in OSX. I reformatted again and the problem went away, but it just came back a few days later. I tried reinstalling the latest drivers from Bootcamp from the apple website, but alas theres still a problem.
Does anyone know what to do? Thanks in advance.

  • Solved IOS 6 issue with headphone remote

Upgraded my Iphone 4S to IOS 6 and my Klipsch headphone remot would not work.  Volume buttons worked, and the center button would start playing music, but it would not stop or pause the songs.  I tried my original Apple earbugs with the remote and did not have any problems.  The I used the Klipsch again, and now they work great.
Sounds strange, but that is what happened.

    Hi All,
I was facing all sorts of issues with my earphone controls.
    This solved my problem.
Double click home button. (press twice). This will show you all the apps that you have currently open.
Long click on the 1st app in the list [about 3 seconds]. This will make the icons wiggle and show a red minus sign on the left hand top corner.
Scroll [right] to see your music app (if you can't see it already).
Press the red minus sign. This will completely close the music app.
Restart your music app and things should be back to normal. [I also would close all other app in the same fashion, just in case, cause things like youtube apps use the controls on your earphones as well. ]
In short: - kill, kill-em-all and restart your music app.

  • Joint Stereo Balance Issues with Headphones iPod iPad iTunes 10.5.0.142

    This is a cross posting.
I'm running iTunes 10.5.0.142 on windows vista SP2.  I have an old nano (2nd gen) and an iPad (1st gen).
Most of the files in my library are MP3 encoded using iTunes with default joint-stereo settings.
All of my library seems to want play through the Left stereo channel whenever I have headphones plugged in, either on my laptop, on my ipad, or ipod.  Same thing.  Doesn't matter what set of headphones (and YES I have switched the phones in my ears, so I'm not going deaf).  I've cleaned my ear buds.
I've reencoded some of the files to AAC on iTunes Plus - the result is the same. The thing is that all of the settings indicate stereo in some form. NONE are mono.  I can hear the track really really faintly on the right channel, but it's constantly as if I'm going deaf in one ear, and I'm not.
The REALLY strange things are this - when played out of my laptop speakers, there are no issues with balance.  Neither are there issues when I play through Airplay to an Airport Express set up.
I've gone through my files, and it doesn't matter which ones.  This problem occured before, but I think it cleared up quickly with an iTunes update at somepoint.
IT is RIDICULOUS.  I do not have this issue with any other audio on my laptop, and it only started when I updated to 10.5.0.142.  I haven't actually changed anything in the library other than that.
Please let me know if something is going on or what I'm missing here.

I noticed this problem first on my Windows 7x64 i3 laptop... I'd rather it not happen. Knowing how helpful Apple has been in the past at actually solving Windows problems. You might consider uninstalling and just syncing to iCloud unless you have a lot of music. As for me, I'm uninstalling it again on my laptop.

  • Any Bootcamp issues with the new MBP? What about right clicking?

Tried out the new MBP at the Apple store... was wondering how Bootcamp would work with it. I use Bootcamp all the time for work so I'm interested to here the pro's and con's for the new models. Seems like the new trackpad clicking would be cause issues with the "two-finger click" in Bootcamp.

    Right clicking issues galore!
(at least in the windows side of things...)
    The 64bit windows worked fine....
The 32bit windows had many issues, even after 2 attempts. (via boot camp)
The main issue: the functions keys are locked on. Normally, I would hold down "fn" and push "f10" to mute but that doesn't work. All I have to do is hit "f10" and its muted. That is all good until I have to right-click using the "shift+f10" method since the bottom-right-of-trackpad and two-finger-clicking doesn't work whatsover. The "shift+f10" method won't work now since the fn keys are locked on. We have NO IDEA what the problem is. Could it be a driver issue...though it works fine with x64bit and OS X side of things.
Oh, and mac doesn't give support if one installs Vista and Microsoft won't give support since it isn't on a 'native' pc, so we are screwed. They have both protected themselves and blamed it on the other and the customer is left out to dry.

  • Odd microphone issue with headphone jack

Well, I really have two issues involving the headphone jack.  One is when I plug the headphone in the volume will occasionally drop to zero and then no longer go up past 0.  A power off fixes this.
A second thing I discovered is that sometimes the microphone does not work after plugging in my headphones.  I fist noticed this when I was trying to use the speakerphone in my car with the line out through my stereo.  I thought that was by design at first.  However, I started using voice control and I noticed that the the microphone was not picking up any sound.  I could tell this because of the visual waveform display.  If I uplug and replug the microphone may start to work.
This happens fairly frequently but enough to make speakerphone use and voice control rather unreliable.

Yes, it has done it through resets.  It seems to happen about 1/2 the time I plug the line out in.  They tried to tell me at the store that it was my car trying to control the audio.  Then I tried to explain it's a simple stero jack plug.
However, if it keeps up I can go to the service center and get an exchange.  I'm going to try and report the issue to Nokia first in case it is firmware related.

  • Issues with headphones and speakers under Windows

Sound Card: Sound Blaster Li've! Value (Came with an older Gateway PC)
OS: Windows XP Professional with SP2
    Problem:
When installing Windows XP on a clean dri've(Fresh Install) I am unable to get sound from my speakers and headphones at the same time. After numerous testing I've determined that this is simply a Windows XP/SB Li've Value issue of some kind.
My temporary fix for this has simply been to switch my headphone and speaker plugs on my sound card with each other and go under the sound properties and turn off Digital output. Not a big deal just annoying having to do this.
I've had this card installed with Windows ME on my system and Windows 2000 and did not have this issue as described above. I simply turned on digital output plugged in both my headphones and speakers to the back of my sound card and had sound from both with no problems what so ever.
I read somewhere that switching the devldr.exe (which I actually tried) that was installed with windows over to the devldr.exe on the XP setup cd. This actually worked for a moment. Once I rebooted I no longer had sound from both my speakers and headphones.
What I'm wondering is if I could switch the devldr.exe with either the Windows ME version (not sure if it uses the file) or with the Windows 2000 version would this fix my problem, or has anyone had this problem and found a solution other then what I have stated?
    Thanks

  • Bootcamp issue with new iMac

Hi - I just purchased a new 21.5 inch iMac with Intel Core i7.  I used Bootcamp to partition a new drive, and I installed 32bit Windows 2007 Home Premium.  Everything worked without a problem, until I tried to install Bootcamp in the Windows environment.  It says that "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running".  I searched the forums for similar issues - I tried to re-download the Bootcamp update in OSX; I tried to use the command prompt to go right to the msi file, and nothing worked.  Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the internet through Windows until I instal all the drivers, so I am stuck.
Does anyone know if the Bootcamp drivers are supported on the new iMac i7?

Hi, ta know, they don't mention it here, but I'm wondering if 10.8 might not require 64 bit Win7?

  • Issues with headphones

I tried plugging my headphones into the audio jack and all I hear is a quiet air-type/static noise. I Googled the problem and didn't come up with any solution that matched my issue. Has anyone else had this problem?

Uninstall the Realtek driver. If you wish, you can then install the generic Realtek driver to utilize the Dobly SRS (which must be reinstalled after you install the generic driver).

  • Cups software possible issue with headphones

Im not even sure how to word this correctly, but I have a user who uses Bose headphones to listen to music online. This user also uses the Cups software to take calls from the 7942 IP Phone. What happens is when the user takes a call it will stop the music as it should, but when the call is over it doesnt go back to the music. Is there a setting in Call Manager or the software to check? Why wouldn't it go back to regular functions on the computer through the headphones?

I don't think On Screen Dispay is designed for W8.  I installed it but had to do with Compatibility settings but did not see a battery drain.
The intel management I disabled in BIOS and never install since I don't have a subscription to the service.
    Glad you solved the issue.

  • Issue with headphones

when my headphones are connected, im noticing that my music and video are randomly pausing without even touching the iphone. plugging my headphones in will also immeditly start playing music from the beginning of my list alphabetically.
ive also noticed that i dont have this problem when ive started playing music, and then hit the stand-by button on the top of the iphone, turning off the screen.
has anyone else had this issue? does anyone know if there is a way to fix it?

Well, there is no way for you to fix it yourself. If multiple pairs of headphones have the same result you should contact AppleCare support or your local Apple Store.

  • BootCamp Issue with Mavericks

    Hi,
I just installed the new OS X software update and now I can't boot into Windows with BootCamp.
I don't have any backup and I'm not very Apple literate.
    Am I screwed?

Hello, iMac user in Walpole, MA.  (While I was away at-college in the early- to mid-80s, my parents moved to East Greenwich, RI.)  Today I live in Asheville, NC.
I tell you abouit my experience with trying to download Mavericks.  It doesn't Pause, instead over the past few weeks I always get the message, [with the App Store icon on-the left]  "Your request is Temporarily unable to be processed.  Please try again later ... and later and later … and Never."  :-(
But Whoa, please:  One thing that I haven't tried is re-indexing Spotlight.  So again, I have Hope.  (Like the license plate of Rhode Island tells.)

  • Bootcamp issue with MacOS system partition

I started a thread earlier today but was referred here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20236917#20236917
In a nutshell: Bootcamp will not accept my newly installed SSD, where I already cloned the Mountain Lion installation to. The issue probably is that I used Disk Utility to format and partition the SSD, already designating a partition for Windows.
What is new since the last thread: I let Bootcamp partition part of my HDD and then installed Windows, which is up and running. The idea was to clone this new partition to the partition on my SSD, but Carbon Copy Cloner let me down. At the moment I see 3 options:
    1. Clone the Win partition to the SSD by some other means. I understand that there are other programs such as Clonezilla or EaseUS, but those are either rather expensive or too technical
    2. Manage to install Windows cleanly onto the SSD partition (preferred option)
    3. Backup MacOS, format the SSD, revert the MacOS installation and pray that Bootcamp will accept it this time. This is pretty much out of the question for me, as Bootcamp refuses to install Windows while both my SSD and HDD are hooked up and I have to keep dis-/connecting SATA cables. Running on a Mac Mini, this is a major inconvenience for me.
    I appreciate any suggestions

    Thanks, but missing the point.
In the end, I went for option 3, which went fine.

  • Bootcamp issue with network connexion

    Hi,
I just install windows seven on macbook pro. Windows works fine but i have a network connexion issue. Network card (wifi and ethernet) doesn't work. When I instelled windows, bootcamp download drivers for windows 64bits.
    My questions :
    - How can fix this network connexion ?
    - Where can i download broadcomNetworkAdapter32.exe ? (for connect to internet and install correctly all driver)
    Thanks

Did you download and then install the Windows support software according to the Boot Camp instructions? You install the Windows support software from within Windows after you install Windows.

  • Audio issues with headphones

I'm an early adopter of the 4th gen iPod Touch 64GB, purchased roughly a week after it released. I use it constantly for music, but the headphone jack has been a bit wonky. The right bank has a tendency to cut out if the plug is moved even less than a millimeter. I've tried about 5 different sets of headphones and they all do the same thing. And yes I have tried Apple brand earbuds (at $30 a pop. OUCH!). The SkullCandy buds that I tried worked the best, but still infrequently.
I've also tried all of the troubleshooting tips in the Support section, but to no avail.
Even when the jack does function correctly, the EQ is screwy with backing vocals too high and the bass washed out.
I have not dropped my iPod or gotten it wet.
If anyone has advice that actually works, that would be terrific.

If all the earphones didn't work properly either, then there must be something wrong with the iPod Touch connector.
Take it into your nearest Apple Repair Center and have it checked out. It is still under warranty so there will be no cost unless they can prove you dropped it or ran it through a washing machine.
