  • Can't run Adobe Flash player after install

I installed Adobe Flash player as administrator in Windows
XP. Now when I'm logged in as a non-administrator user, I cannot
run the Flash player. I just get a message suggesting I download it
when I go to a website that wants to use it. If I go to the same
website logged in as the administrator, it runs fine. Has anyone
    encountered this problem?
    Thanks.

Try another browser.   Here's why I say that.
    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess thay've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Cannot run adobe flash player on windows 8.1 pro with IE 11

this is very frustrating and I have research multiple Q&A on this forum with no resolution.
When I try to run adobe flash player I get the error:
Either Flash Player is disabled or ActiveX Filter is ON.
Please follow trouble shooting steps to play Flash content.
I have gone through the steps to attempt to resolve this as indicated on the adobe site and it is not resolved
    Enable Flash Player
    Disable ActiveX Filtering
Update Internet Explorer to get latest version of Flash Player
    I have removed and re-added IE 11.
I have been trying to research this for days and have hit a dead end.
    Any recommendations?

    @paula1228,
I'm sorry you're encountering issues with Flash Player on Windows 8.1 with Internet Explorer 11.  There is a new Flash Player update available today.  The new update should be available from the link at the bottom of the Flash Player Issues | Windows 8 page.  You can also run Windows Update from the Control Panel to obtain the latest update (KB2974008).  If the latest update doesn't display, install all available updates and then check for updates again.
    @NerdyWasabi,
Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x.  Users cannot install Flash Player for Internet Explorer on their own.  They must install the Internet Explorer Update for Flash Player to update Flash Player on Windows 8.x

  • In recent weeks many websites show "blocked plug-in". Clicking onto it reveals a notice that my Adobe Flash Player needs updating but I'm not able to do it because Step 3  of the update has "blocked plug-in" in it.

In recent weeks many websites on my OS X (10.6.8) have been showing a white patch with "blocked plug-in" on it preventing access to all of the site. When I
click onto it a message appears stating that my Adobe Flash Player needs updating and when I have downloaded the upgrade & moved  to Step 3 I get
a "blocked plug in" on it as well. How do I resolve this issue?

When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf

  • Problems installing or running Adobe Flash Player for safari

problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for safari when trying to install Adobe Flash Player.pkg it asks to quit Dash Board client then brings up Exclamation mark up and quits install ??????

Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

  • Why am I having trouble running Adobe Flash Player 11 on my 2011 Macbook Air? I've downloaded and installed it repeatedly; yet when I try to open certain images online or play certain Youtube segments, I get the message, "You must have Adobe Flash 11..."

Why am I having trouble running Adobe Flash Player 11 on my 2011 Macbook Air? I've downloaded and installed it repeatedly; yet when I try to open certain images online or play certain Youtube segments, I get the message, "You must have Adobe Flash 11..."  My computer tells me it is installed and running.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    3. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    6. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.6.1.629 is not Flash.
There are two different versions of Flash, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by most other browsers.
1.Download the Flash Plugin version setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    4. Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • Internet Explorer keeps asking if it is okay to run Adobe Flash Player.

I am having a problem with Adobe Flash Player working with Internet Explorer 11. Whenever I visit a site that has content that needs Flash Player to load, Internet Explorer prompts me asking me if it is okay. When I see allow, all that happens is the website refreshes and instead of displaying the content, I am asked again. This happens over and over. What can I do about it?

My setting is medium-high. Here's a more detailed description of my problem:
I am having a problem with Adobe Flash Player with Internet Explorer 11. The problem is that whenever I visit a website that has content that needs the flash player in order to work, Internet Explorer asks me if it is okay to run the content. When I click "Allow", the page refreshes and I am asked again. I do not understand why it behaves this way because I have all Adobe plugins for Internet Explorer activated.

  • Request: Flash Player needed

    Hello,
I need to know what is the lastest version of the Flash
    Player will run
    under Win 95?
    Thanks!

    > I need to know what is the lastest version of the Flash

I don't believe it's as much OS as browser dependent.
Check the browser support list, what versions where running
or bundled with what kind of players:

I suspect you have Flash Player installed properly and something else is failing.  When you go to this page, do you see the following?

  • Trouble running Adobe Flash Player

I am using Win. 7, 64 bit. with Firefox. I have the latest Flash Player.  The problem is that if I run a video, it runs a few seconds and stops.  If I move the mouse it runs for a few seconds again.  If I click on the task bar the video runs OK.  Previously it worked fine.  Would installing and then uninstalling  Flash Player Pro. be the problem?  Help Please.  Dick A

To review, I am running Win. 7, 64 bit, Firefox 25,Thunderbird 24, and Flash Player 11.9.  When I click on a link in Thunderbird to go to a video on youtube, the video freezes.  If I left click the mouse on the video it will sometimes run for a few seconds before freezing again.  If I click on a clear spon on the task bar, I can get the video to run properly.  If I go directly to youtube via Firefox and locate the same video, it works properly. It worked fine a few weeks ago.
I also have IE loaded on the same computer.  It works fine.  I have reinstalled Thunderbird and I have reinstalled Flash Player.
    Still looking for suggestions.
