Bootcamp trackpad drivers for windows 7 seem to get overwritten.

I'm running windows 7 ultimate on my macbook air 13", partitioned with bootcamp 3.2. I've installed the windows 7 bootcamp drivers and applied the track pad settings, and they work correctly for a while, but then they seem to just vanish. I go back to bootcamp and the tab for track pad settings isn't there. This seems to happen about once a week. At first I thought that windows updates were overwriting the bootcamp drivers, but I've disabled automatic windows updates and the problem still persists. If do a repair install of the bootcamp drivers, it works correctly for a a while. But as I said, I have to reinstall about once per week.
Any suggestions?

I also have a similar issue. Very annoying, and goes away when you reboot.
I can also report that I have unknown devices in the device manager, and no telling hardware failure errors in the event log.
Could you provide a more specific link? That one doesn't go anywhere helpful.

  • HT1461 I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now

I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.

Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box.

  • How do I download 32bit Drivers for Windows 7 on Bootcamp for OSX 10.8.1?

    Here is the deal,
I am a computer technician for a library and I am installing Windows 7 on four brand new Apple MiniMacs with OSX 10.8.1 on them (don't ask). The Mac came with no install Disks and the Bootcamp Assistant only downloads 64bit drivers for windows. I am installing Windows 7 32bit on them and I need the drivers. How can I get them? Can somebody assist me please?

Buy a Windows machine or an older Mac if you wish to use 32bit Windows. (what are you going to do when MS quit supporting 32bit systems?)

  • I running snow leopard on my MBP- where can I find the drivers for windows XP if I install them via bootcamp? Thanks!

I running snow leopard on my MBP- where can I find the drivers for windows XP if I install them via bootcamp? Thanks!

You won't find them until you are in Windows.
Helps to read even print the guide.
If you have auto run enabled, which is a security risk, the Apple setup.exe will run.
    Otherwise, just run that.
Either use your OS X DVD, or use the drivers downloaded by Boot Camp Assistant.
Two different ways to get them.

  • Using bootcamp 5.1, Windows 7 home is installed but missed installing the drivers disk. How to install the Mac drivers for windows after the fact.

While using Bootcamp 5.1, and OS X 10.8.2, I partitioned my Mac disk with 80 Gigs for Windows 7 home and the install went great, but I must have missed the time when I was to install the Mac drivers disk to install the drivers for Windows,(when in Windows I don't have a mouse or optical drive.)  Is there a way to install the drivers after Windows is installed, or do I have to go through the whole process all over again?

Press X key after the startup sound to boot into OS X. Then, open Boot Camp Assistant, download Boot Camp drivers and burn them into a USB drive or DVD. Finally, boot in Windows and install drivers

Can anyone help me to get the Tack pad drivers for windows 7 on mAcBook Air..

If you've created the Windows 7 Drivers CD/USB drive, using Boot Camp Assistant in OSX, the drivers should be on there. My MacBook Pro (2010) touchpad works fine with those drivers installed, and I think it's identical to the Air's.

  • Can you use Windows 7 Support software (drivers) for Windows XP on bootcamp?

I'm just wondering, I'm installing windows XP on my mac running lion. I don't have my lion install disk but Im able to install 'windows 7 support software' from bootcamp which I put on a usb flash drive. My friend says I can use that for Windows XP drivers but i'd just like to ask here.
So basically, can I use windows 7 mac drivers for windows XP? If not is there anywhere I can download them?

  • Lenovo - can we get an idea on timing for drivers for windows 7?

I know the standard answer - soon after the final version ships. However, I also know that OEMs and Microsoft are working hard to make sure drivers are available at launch. So how about some love here and let us folks leaning into the wind test some of the upcoming drivers for windows 7?
There's only one listed at the Lenovo Windows 7 beta drivers site, and I just have to believe there are more.
    Thanks!

Well, we do have this beta OS to work with, Lenovo has a Win 7 discussion list, let's have some unsupported beta drivers to test.
You can't tell me that Lenovo is sitting on its hands waiting for the gold version of Win 7 to work on drivers.
Come on, show us some love

  • Satellite L300-1AM - Where can I get drivers for Windows 7?

    How in the title
From where can I download drivers for Windows 7 RTM (32bit) for Toshiba Satellite L300-1AM? Is it possible anyway? I see on the website only drivers for Vista/XP/OS independent.
Which of them are compability with Win7?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi
    >I see on the website only drivers for Vista/XP/OS independent.
    >Which of them are compability with Win7?
The drivers for Windows Vista are compatible to Windows 7 and most of them work on Windows 7.
So you can try these drivers.
But drivers especially for Windows 7 you will not find at the moment because Windows 7 isnt on the market as yet. You have to wait until the official release because some days or weeks later normally the drivers support starts.

  • Cannot get Boot Camp drivers (for Windows XP) installed

I've partitioned my Time Machine HD for the 32GB/FAT format of Windows XP/Home Edition w/SP2. The installation of Windows proceeded OK. However, after installing Windows, ejecting the W-Install disc, and inserting my MAC OS X Leopard disc, the "setup.exe" file does not open. If I start up in Windows, I cannot open the Opt. Disc drawer since the BC drivers are not installed; if I insert the OS X disc in the drawer, then restart in Windows, the "setup.exe." file does not open.
Where do I go from here to install the Boot Camp drivers for Windows? These drivers are needed for 'normal' Windows operation, and are required in order to install the Boot Camp update. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi David,
while you are in Windows and have the Leopard DVD inserted, can you access the content of it using the Windows Explorer ?
or maybe this hint on MacOSXHints can help you access the Windows Content of your Leopard DVD while in OSX http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080708145453136
If so, you can try to copy the Windows Content onto a USB Memory Stick and use it to install the drivers.
    Good Luck

  • How Do I Install Apple Drivers For Windows XP?

Okay, so I have a 15 inch mid 2012 MacBook Pro that is running OS X Mavericks. After many attempts, I managed to install Windows XP 32 bit as a secondary operating system on the HDD using Disk Utility. The only devices that Windows XP recognised upon the installation were the keyboard and the trackpad. I then inserted a Snow Leopard disc to install the Apple Drivers for Windows XP and it appeared as though the drivers got installed(the Boot Camp icon appeared on the taskbar next to the digital clock). However, when I restarted windows, none of the devices other than the keyboard and the trackpad worked. Does this imply that the drivers didn't get installed? If so, why is this and how can I install the drivers? If the drivers did get installed, why aren't the devices working? Please help me out, if possible. Thanks in advance.

It does not work because you are running Mavericks and trying to use non-Mavericks drivers for an operating system (XP) that is not support on your hardware or your operating system.

  • How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?

    Hello everyone,
I am facing a problem with bootcamp on my Macbook pro 15" (Mid 2010, running Mos OS 10.6.6).
I have successfully installed windows 7 via Bootcamp, but I lost the Drivers DVD furnished by Apple.
I tried to download these using Bootcamp (v3.0.4), but bootcamp won't let me save it, i get this error :
"the windows support software could not be saved to the selected folder"
An Apple support article has been made for this problem ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3648 ), but it doesn't solve the problem in my case because I lost the furnished DVD.
So here I am, struck on this drivers issue...
    So, my question is :
How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?
Thank you for your help !
    Regards

Aw, and I forgot, being in Thailand, they do not sell the installation DVD.
