Bootcamp - Vista - Nero 9 - Crashing

I have "Nero 9" installed on Bootcamp Vista Ultimate and every time I use it, it'll work just fine UNTIL I touch the mouse pad. Then Nero just crashes. If I used a bluetooth mouse it won't crash. What would make this happen? Do I need to do something to the mouse pad driver in Vista?

Did you install the Windows drivers that come on the OS X Installer Disc One that came with your computer? Did you then upgrade them to the 2.1 Vista drivers from Apple - support.apple.com/downloads/?
For problems with Windows and Windows applications you should post either in the Windows or Boot Camp forum. For specific Windows applications you should check with the program developer's tech support.

  • 13" Macbook Pro runs burning hot in bootcamp vista?

I just got a new macbook 13". I was using my bootcamp vista and the macbook literally burned my lap. I flipped it over and the metal area, directly in the center of the macbook, was BURNING hot. Probably hot enough to cook an egg -- I know I couldn't leave my hand there for a long time. Is this normal? I'm afraid this laptop will burn my legs or cause other heat related issues...

Make sure you have Vista and the BootCamp drivers up to date, but Apple doesn't recommend using a portable computer in your lap:
    From the MacBook Care page:
+For prolonged use, place your MacBook on a flat, stable surface. Do not place your MacBook on your lap or other body surface for extended periods of time. Prolonged body contact can cause discomfort and potentially a burn. The bottom of the MacBook case functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the computer to the cooler air outside. The bottom of the case is raised slightly to allow airflow, which keeps the unit within normal operating temperatures. In addition, warm air is vented from the slots in the back of the case.+

    Hi Stefan
the BootCamp Drivers are on the Mac OSX Install DVD that came with your Mac.
This disc is a "hybrid-disc" which contains a Mac OSX part and a Windows part.
The Windows part is only viewable while in Windows and does not show up while in OSX.

  • Vista machine called "crash"

Unfortunately, I have an Hp desktop, 9426, that I've decided to call "Crash"
I think the name is befitting. I can expect maybe misguidedly so, an occasional problem, but this machine has had problems for way too long.  It used to blue screen occasionally, but its maddening now.
Two weeks ago, I had a new hard drive installed because the self diagnostics said it was "bad."
It would crash, always giving the same line on the BSOD.
I sent it in for service at a Staples store, & they said after 5 visits they couldn't find any problem they could pin down, but the error is always the same.
So, they did a fresh reinstall of Vista.
Still crashing, especially when I try to turn it off using the windows shut down.
As I was doing something else earlier tonight , it crashed 3 times, at at the same minute and hour according to the
    microsoft log.
I'm fed up to say the least.
When last a STAPLES, they said it didn't crash at all, but i'm sure they didn't watch it every minute as this cycles from BSOD to the main screen in only a couple of minutes.
    Any help here?
    Thanks

    Hello again gvasale.
The page file is like a "virtual RAM" on your machine.  I am sorry for the confusion but you do NOT have to upload your page file for me!  That would take hours even on my broadband connection.  I'll try to better explain the steps.
To configure Windows to create a dumpfile try the following.
Go to your Control Panel and select "System."
On the left side select "Advanced system settings."
Under "Startup and recovery" select "Settings."
    Uncheck "Automatically restart."
Ensure that "Write an event to the system log" is checked.
Note the location of the dump file.  This is what I'll need you to upload.  It is basically a text file.
Click OK to save your changes.
To increase the size of your page file you want to try the following.
Go to your Control Panel and select "System."
On the left side select "Advanced system settings."
Under the "Performance" section select "Settings."
    Select the "Advanced" tab.
You will see a "Change" button under "Virtual Memory."  Select this.
    Select "Custom Size."
Make the initial size 9000 and the maximum size 9000.
Save the changes and reboot your PC.
Let me know if that helps and I'll be watching for that dump file.
    Have a lovely day!

  • My vista computer has crashed on which i have flash builder installed

my vista computer has crashed on which i have flash builder installed how do i reinstall it on another machine.

How did you purchase Flash builder? If you have registered your product, your serial number will be listed in your account info.
You can download or install again on another machine and then use the serial number.
If you face any activation issues after installation, call Adobe Support (http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/).

  • Bios recovery for HP dv5-1235dx/Vista (64-bit) crashed during update

My HP Pavillion dv5-1235dx which ran windows vista (64-bit) crashed while updating bios (after my old bios was deleted).  I have tried the start+b+power trick to recover but that option did not work.  HP Support suggests to create a usb key to install bios, however I have repeatedly failed in recovering/installing bios because the instructions are very limited. They mention a "create a usb key" option that I have yet to find that would make the key.  After using the HP UEFI BIOS Update SoftPAQ and extracting files from the bios .exe file, I found the following:
1 folder (sp45138) with contents below
    3602F21.fd
    3603F21.fd
    ding (wave sound)
    InsydeFlash (application)
    InsydeFlash (text document)
    iscflash.dll
    iscflash.sys
    iscflashx64.sys
    platform (configuration settings)
So, my questions are as follows:
Where is the mystery "create a usb key" button?
What files should I have installed on my usb drive?
Does anything have to be renamed or formatted?
    Thanks for any help given!

Hello Ceelion21.  I understand you're trying to recover your computer from a failed BIOS flash.
I see this question get asked a lot so I have made sure to bookmark the instructions which I found on another website.  Here is a link.
You should be able to download the BIOS file from HP Support.  I believe you'll need to use an application such as 7-Zip to extract the BIOS file and locate the *.FD file.
If this doesn't work you'll likely need to have the notebook repaired.  If you'd like to inquire about a repair through HP Support and are in the US/Canada you can give them a call at 1-800-474-6836.  If you're in another part of the world you'll need to visit HP Support Worldwide to get your region's contact information.
Let me know the result of the BIOS recovery.  I hope you have an excellent night!

  • My Vista Ultimate keeps crashing and restarting...

    Hello...
I currently upgraded to Leopard and bit the bullet and bought Windows Ultimate to help run my ACAD 2008. The installation of both operating systems ran smoothly and I was able to install the Bootcamp drivers onto Vista without a hitch. After all the program installs on Vista - just Office 2007 and ACAD 2008 - machine was working beautifully. I'm sorry to admit this but I began to admire the aesthetics of Vista!!! Then, after a week of switching back and forth from both operating systems, Vista began crashing upon booting and would frequently restart after signing in. I have tried system restores and repairing and nothing seems to be working. I would often restart the machine like 15 times before I can get Vista to run properly. I brought it to the Apple Store and called Microsoft but no one wants to claim responsibility and provide a solution. Someone PLEASE HELP ME!!! These are my specs:
    Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 2 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B08

Since you're using Boot Camp you'll probably find it more beneficial to post your question in the Boot Camp forums:

  • Apps on Vista Ultimate keeps crashing!!!

I created the boot camp partition, it was in FAT32 because I was planning on using XP at first, I changed my mind and decided to install Vista Ultimate with SP1 on. I allowed vista to switch the file system to NTFS, it Installed fine, however for some reason when windows starts it keeps trying to check the HD for errors, then it fails at about 63% with an unrecognized error, it then gets into windows. The OS works fine at first look but the following is not working
    - It wont install the RealTek drivers for my audio using the Leopard CD or just getting the driver directly online.
    - When using IE, if I try to download anything it crashes it.
    - I got FF (using a usb drive and my desktop) things seem much better but I try to download my vpn software for work, it crashes.
    - The system error solution window comes up on boot with errors about the apple null desktop driver and such. I have read about this but all the sources say that SP1 should have fixed any issues with the drivers.
So do I really have bad sectors on my hard drive? or did something go wrong during the install? Or should I just give up on Vista and put on winXP?
    any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks
    ZYM

Unless you have 4GB RAM or 4-core system, stay with 32-bit usual advice.
But in your case, I would..
    remove bootcamp partition;
    create an HFS+ partition - larger than you need;
    do a 7-way write erase,
.... and only then install again.
Each time I install/re-install I've learned more, and of course over time, better drivers and software, and it seems to run better.
One thing to keep in mind is how much space Vista can grow to use, for restore points, temp files, and as you install programs and copy/move or add files. Page and hibernation file may not take a big hit, but I would double the size you think you need.
If you ran sfc /scannow did it complete without errors being reported?
Even with bad blocks, chkdsk should run to completion. I'd pull the drive, put it in FW case, look at RMA and warranty and 2nd drive. OWC has a number of laptop drive bundles that come with external cases.

  • ITunes on Windows Vista...Crashes Every Time

    Hi.
I just purchased an ipod nano and installed itunes on my PC (windows vista).  It worked the first time but would crash 1/4 of the way through syncing my library to my ipod.
Now itunes just crashes/freezes/is completely unresponsive as soon as I open it either my clicking the icon or by plugging in the ipod.
Completely unimpressed...I have owned 10+ phones/mp3 players in the past and have never had an issue (hadn't been using itunes) with transferring files, etc.
    How do I fix itunes?
I updated Quicktime and iTunes...Quicktime is working fine on its own.

    Hello Mariahthomas
Check out the articles below to troubleshooting issues with iTunes not starting for you on your computer. You may have to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall.

  • A Few Bootcamp Vista Installation Questions

    Hello, Apple forums,
I am will be, hopefully within the next week, installing my new Vista Ultimate on my 15 inch aluminum MBP. I would like, if it is not a problem, a few questions answered before I proceed.
    1. Is using Bootcamp the best way to install Windows? I know there are other options, and I have heard people have had technical problems with Bootcamp.
    2. When I install Windows, is my MBP still under warranty?
    3. When I install Windows, will it, in any way, affect my usage of OS 10?
    4. Will I be able to install programs, such as Word, Norton, etc. onto Windows?
    5. Will all of the physical functions, such as the Trackpad, iSight, and DVD port still function?
    6. How do I switch between OS's, or for that manner, can I do it without restarting the MBP?
Thanks you for taking the time to answer. I am pretty sure I know the correct answers to most of these questions, but I just want to make sure.

    Hi Mechafire,
back from work (for which I had to leave this morning...
    3. When partitioning the harddisk for BootCamp Windows the space for the Windows partition is taken from the OSX partition, thus decreasing the size of it.
Usually this poses no problem for OSX, but OSX can become erratic when the amount of free space on its partition drops below 10% of the partition size.
That's what I meant with 'problem'
    4. Personally I haven't had any problem with installing programs on BootCamp Windows.
However there seems to be some very specific programs (usually protected with hardware-dongles) that do not run perfectly.
In the past AutoCAD was such one, but I'm not sure if this is still so.
    5. As said, I don't have a MBP so I don't have first-hand experiences with it.
When you look around the BootCamp Forum you will find some posts which mentions problems with the trackpad in Windows.
    7. I use BootCamp as well as Parallels with Windows on my Mac and I can say that I never had any problem with them.
BootCamp is the way to go when you know you don't need OSX at the time, while Parallels (and the VM apps) are quite handy when you are in OSX and just want/need to run a Windows program since you don't have to reboot the Mac.
    8. Right now Windows 7 is not supported by BootCamp and also is still in Beta.
At the time of release of Windows 7 there will be most likely a BootCamp update that supports Windows 7.
Nonetheless there are some people round here that are using the Public Beta of Windows 7 on their Macs right now with the Vista Drivers that are on the OSX Leopard DVD.
Personally I would say wait for Windows 7 if you can , otherwise Vista is the next best choice.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Bootcamp - Vista - Overheating - Any Suggestions?

I have Bootcamp running Vista Ultimate and it gets pretty darn hot. Anything I can do to help this? Thanks!

I have had the same issues - it seems that the nvidia drivers need to be updated (to prevent the freezing issues) and the fan 1 seems to not be responding to Windows in boot camp
My resolution has been to download SMC Fan Control (which installs on Mac OS X) where you can very easily set fan speeds (I have set to 3500rpm) and then restart into Windows (not shut down, otherwise it loses the SMC settings)
In this mode my CPU temps have gone from 80+ in Vista down to 50 and my case no longer gets hot
i have raised this with Apple as it would seem that boot camp needs new drivers, meanwhile this lets me use Vista on the MBP
    hope its useful

  • HT1237 BootCamp/Vista problems

I installed Windows Vista on my macbook via bootcamp. The install went well or so i thought. Now that windows is installed, the computer does not see any wireless networks or when plugged into the router the internet. I also do not see how I switch back to the MAC OS. If I rmember correctly there should be an option in the windows shutdown menu.Seems now I have a useless Windows machine with a glowing apple on the back..
any suggestions for the hardware issues and how to boot back to MAC OS.
    Thanks

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use BootCamp. There's a BootCamp Support Community where everybody uses BootCamp. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

PPTP VPN pass-through on Time Capsule's Wi-Fi Airport connection works well when using Microsoft XP, Mac OS X 10.5.2, and the iPhone PPTP VPN client. It connects fine using Vista but, on disconnecting Vista's PPTP client, Time Capsule crashes and reboots. This issue is consistently repeatable.
The Time Capsule was purchased last week with Firmware Version 7.3.1 and my Airport utility has been updated to version 5.3.1 on both the Vista and OS X machines. Does anybody know of a fix for this issue?
