Bootcamp: Win7, not enough memory.
I mainly run Bootcamp: Win7 for gaming such as StarTrek Online and it generally runs well. However, often when playing StarTrek Online I get a little message from the computer in the upper right hand corner telling me the game is "running in reduced textures due to low memory." I have 8 GB of memory installed on the MacMini. This is the maximum the mini can hold and should be sufficient. Has anyone experience this problem?
This sounds logical. Do know if the video memory in a MacMini can be adjusted? I have a feeling it can't and I'm at work now so I can't check. Perhaps in the Windows settings I could tweak it? Thanks!
Update: I read up on it... it's a shared system memory thing. So, no way to allocate.

Could not complete the smart sharpen command because there is not enough memory (RAM)
Hi,
I'm trying to complete the AutoSharpen (Filter->Sharpen->AutoSharpen) feature but, i'm getting the following error when i click on "Ok".
Error in Dialogue Box "Could not complete the smart sharpen command because there is not enough memory (RAM)".
Request the SME's and Adobe community team members to help me overcome this step to proceed further.
I'm using a 32 Bit Win7 OS and have a 4GB RAM on board.
Regards,
Sachin_As Curt says, Photoshop got more hungry for RAM from CS4, and 32bit systems just weren't cutting it, but there was a trick we used to use to squeeze a bigger slice of the available installed 4Gb
Run the Command Prompt as Administrator, and type:
"bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072" (I can't remember whether the quote marks are needed or not.)
That used to work for me with XP, and it is _supposed_ to work with Windows 7, but I know it doesn't always.
If it doesn't work, or has unwanted consequences, turn it off with:
"bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa"
If you want to research it before trying, seach for 'Windows 7 3Gb switch'. -
cannot export my D800 images out of lightroom, message reads not enough memory. Anyone any ideas how to fix this?
Is it Win7 32-Bit (that's where I've seen it happen). I would report it as a bug at the official Adobe site:

Building exe file fails (not enough memory) in LV 2011
Hello,
I have a project with about 900 VIs. I'm using Win7 32 Bit with 4 GB RAM (a 32 Bit OS can address about 3,3 GB) with LabVIEW 2011 SP1.
When trying to build an executable, I allways get the error "Not enough memory to complete the operation" (or something like that).
My RAM is full at this time.
Without building the exe file I can start the project without any problems and with only half RAM usage.
What can I do to generate the exe file with my system?
Are there any options I can set, that the application builder will not use so much memory?
Regards
MatthiasHello
"how much memory do those 900+VIs take on disk????"
53 MB
"Ctrl+Run Button is a force compile for a single VI"
I used Ctrl + Shift + Run
I also tried the mass compilation tool itself and it doesn't change anything.
"If the source distribution also plows the memory, you want to split the distribution into several packages"
That sounds very coimplicated ...
Did I understand it correctly? I have to create several source distributions (option "directory" and not "llb"). And in my build specification for my exe file, I can chose these source distributions?
Do I need to prepare my VIs or can I directly create the source distribution with the option "remove block diagram"?
"I had that problem several times in a large project. I did a mass compile, saved all the VIs, then closed out of the project and LabVIEW. I opened up LabVIEW again and loaded only the main VI. I performed a build and it worked successfully."
I tried it and a still get the same error.
My customer need to get the update because it a critical one. And I can't build it.
An update to Win7 64 bit on my machine is also not a solution because all our customers use Win7 32 bit and the 64 bit executable won't run on a 32 bit operating system.
Regards

Not enough memory to complete the operation-how do i eliminate the error?
HI All,
I have posted the questions before in this forum, but as i am not able to cure the problem i am posting it again.
I have a large database oriented application to plot graph.Almost one year back given the application to the user.
They were not getting any problem before. But now the user is telling they are getting an error message-"not enough memory to complete the operation".The same application is running in one of our pcs also. But here no problem.
Tried to change the vitual memory setting in the user's pc by setting to system managed size.
But still getting the same error.
Why the same application running finely in one pc and resulting some error in another pc?
Except that they are getting the error message the application is running properly(ie,except that they are getting the error they are able to plot the graph.)Is there any work around for this?Atleast is there any way to hide the error message?Hi user_1,
no, you can't hide that error message.
It seems you are dealing with very big data arrays (kind of duplicate posting). Please read the knowledge base article on memory efficient programming!
The "not enough memory" occurs when LabView has to create a data copy and doesn't get the memory needed for. The only (?) way to avoid this is efficient programming!
When you increase the memory available in the PC the error will only occur later!

Could not initialize photoshop because there is not enough memory
Hello there
i am using Windows XP in Bootcamp on a MacBook Pro. This system goes phantastic without any problems since more than half a year now. Now i decided to use this MacBook for my work as well, but unfortunately my CS2 Photoshop can not be installed because of "could not initialize photoshop because there is not enough memory". Which is not true, it cannot be the memory, i never had any problems on my other computer and even after a restart with all 4GB free it is the same. Trying to get closer to the source of the problem i tried out some other verions of Photoshop, with the same results, so for sure it is not a preference or something similar. Does anyone had the same problem with his XP on a MacBook?
Thanks for your support,
SofianSounds like a mapping problem in Bootcamp itself. Either it prevents access to prefs and certain configuration files or the bootloader does not correctly map the different memory offsets. If so, only completely re-initializing the system would fix it. I never had any problems with Vista, though, so this may be an unfortunate combination of an old operating system (XP) with teh specifics of the half-PC that such a Mac is.

"Itunes library cannot be saved, there is not enough memory" Error Message
Every time when I leave my mac to play songs on iTunes in shuffle mode or when I select a few songs (such as by the same singer), this error message ("Itunes library cannot be saved, there is not enough memory") would appear after a while, and my iTunes would then crash by itself and an option to 'Reopen' or to 'Report the problem to Apple' box would pop up.
However, this just does not make any sense to me. My mac is a Macbook Pro 2011, 13" with i5 sandybridge processor, 4G RAM, how could it ran out of virtual memory when I am only playing SEVEN songs by the same singer?
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or should I send this computer back to Apple and ask them to check it?
Thank you!I'm getting the same message -- "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory available." It just started popping up every time I do anything on iTunes, but I haven't updated the program recently (iTunes 10.4.1.10, for the record), and have been using it on this computer (Win7) for over a year.
I checked the archived responses to this problem, and just about all of them are about its other cause ("You do not have enough privileges for this operation"), and the others are about incompatabilities with early Windows 7 (and are several years old), so I don't imagine they're completely relevant.
Please, does anyone know anything to help? -

Not enough memory to complete the operation
I need to put the VI into a biger VI but it always give me the same error " not enough memory to complete this operation". is any one have a way around it. becuse I need 200,000 point to complete this operation.

Untitled 8.vi 9 KBHi engomar,
well, it could reduce memory footprint a little. You still have additional buffer allocations in your snippet as you can easily check using the Tools->Profiling menu item!
2pi and "0"-constant set to SGL as well…
With 50k as loop count the VI still needs ~440MB…
Why do you need such a big array? Can't you work with smaller array(s)/subsets?
Edit:
After looking at your VI: so you want to do some math on the big array created before in combination with 6 other big arrays? Do you really think by setting that exp-array to complexSGL will help in any case?
Please rethink your algorithm!
Work with smaller subsets of all your arrays!

After years of playing Snood, w/o problems, I started getting this error message, on my iMac, OS 10.5.8,
with 4 GB of memory when opening Snood: Not enough memory {Error # :: 0, in sound.cp@line 101
My MacBook Pro w. Mac OS 10.6.8 did not have this problem.
Initially I thought that Snood raised its minimum requirement to Mac OS 10.6.
I had several correspondences with Snood. Their tech support is great. Quick and thorough responses.
They thought the issue was in Mac's system preferences/ Sound. It was.
I didn't realize that my sound input and output devices were gone.
The fix was resetting the PRAM. I found this advice on MacFixIt.com.
MacFixIt help with volume: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10415659-263.html
Resetting the PRAM is on Apple support: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
My sound (music!) is back, along with Snood. So glad I reset the PRAM before reinstalling the OS software!
Thank you to Snood, MacFixIt and Apple.
Happy new year all!Good work, nice post/tip, thanks!

Photoshop cs6 error "Could not complete command because there is not enough memory (RAM)"
Hi, I have a Macbook Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite 6, and all of my other adobe programs run smoothy with the exception of photoshop. For about the past year and a half now, I will very inconsistency receive the error message, "Could not complete ___ command because there is not enough memory (RAM)." Sometimes this problem gets so bad that I am not even able to open my preferences.
My computer seems as though it should have plenty of space to run photoshop, and I have taken my computer to a number of differed tech supports, but they have only been able to temporarily make the problem less severe for short periods until it acts up again and completely prevents me from using Photoshop. I recently updated to Yosemite and deinstalled/reinstalled photoshop, hoping that would fix things, but I still get the message almost any time I try to complete a command.
Your help would be very much appreciated, thank you!

3.5Mhz? Do they even make processors that slow?
I'm trying to think back through Photoshop versions, but IIRC it became hungry for RAM with CS5, but it might even have been CS4. But certainly from CS5 onwards a 32 bit system was going to be severely compromised with its 3.5Gb RAM limit, of which Photoshop could access only a bit over 2Gb. You might remember the 4Gb switch that let you use a bit more of your 4Gb of installed RAM. That worked OK with XP but was still flakey, and third party plugins used to fall over all the time through lack of RAM — at least Photoshop has a Scratch drive.
So nowadays you can forget trying to use Photoshop on 32bit hardware. You need 64 bit and at least 8Gb RAM. So like I said, the OP needs to look deeper into the 'apparent' over heating issue, and put that other 4Gb back in. I can't even conceive of why a person would cripple their system by removing RAM. _Especially_ when it leaves just 4Gb -

Help Needed REP-1800 Formatter error VGS-1701 Not enough memory
Hi. Gents
Help needed
I’m working on a Report, it gets some 2 million records and the report pages are approximately 52,000
It works fine if the pages are lesser then 48,000 or the data is less let say one and half a million, the problem occurs only after 48000 + pages formatted.
Report is generated successfully when trying to go to the last page it throw an error.
REP-1800 Formatter error
VGS-1701 Not enough memory
I have already gone through the metalink DOC Id 95505.1 as well as OTN
But all in vain,
Any comments or help much appreciated.
Details are:
Reports 6i (Clients/Server) on Windows platform
(Windows XP Professional with SP 2)
Database: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0
Computer:
Pentium(R) 4, CPU 3.00GHz, 1 GB of RAM
Still 20 GB free space
Thanks & RegardsI don't see the point in making a report with more than 48,000 pages, I think Al Gore will not be happy when you start printing it...
The problem might be caused by the fact that Reports needs to format all output at once, and then even 1GB of memory will probably be not enough. Formatting all pages at once is needed if you use pagination with displaying total number of pages. If you have this, try to get that out of the report definition and try again. -
Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
To the Report Design Team,
It has been suggested that I post this issue here based on another thread I started: Re: Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
The template contains a single 24 bit PNG image as a background in the Page Header section, plus 9 image records from a SQL Server image field over 3 pages (3 images per page). The images are all JPG at 3000x2000 (digital camera).
To summarize, we are experiencing three problems.
1. CR2008SP2 Designer issues a Memory Full error when Exporting to PDF.
2. Using a 3rd party PDF Printer (Bullzip PDF) and CR2008SP2 Designer generates a PDF, however, the CR2008SP2 API throws a "Memory full" exception suggesting Designer and API are different (see stack trace in linked message above).
3. With only 3 images on 1 page, CR2008 Designer Export to PDF takes 110 seconds to generate a 24MB PDF while our third party PDF Printer generates the same report in 17 seconds and 580KB.
Edited by: Don Williams on Sep 30, 2009 6:43 AMThe .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save. Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full". If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error. However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything). The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem. Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2. The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size. However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing. When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have? Are there known problems with large images in reports? Do we need to lodge a formal support request?
Regards, Grant.
PS. Grr and my message formatting is lost when I edited this message!!!
There is a 1500 character limit and then all formatting is removed to save space. Break you posts into separate entries.

How can I get all photos from iPhoto to automatically back up to iCloud from my Mac OSX Version 10.6.8 operating system. Not enough memory to upgrade.
You can't. iCloud is not for general file backup from a Mac. It's for backup up and syncing data between mobile devices and and Macs and The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: Backup and restore overview.
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your (mobile) device using iOS 5 or later. Once you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .....
What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
You get 5 GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
App data
Home screen and app organization
Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
Ringtones
Visual Voicemails
But not from a Mac. If you want to backup your photos and other important files I suggest you get an external hard drive and use it with Time Machine.
