Bootcamp/Windows 7 a big problem

After installing Windows 7 in bootccamp i noticed a TON of problems with it.
First of all, whenever i create/delete/rename folders or files the files are not automatically update and i have to refresh the folder or desktop to see the changes
Second, I cant open WMP to play videos, neither VLC works(doesnt show up when launching)
Third, I cant pin a program into my bar
- Every first time after boot up i right click into a folder/file the folder shows a "Not Responding" problem and the Explorer needs to be restarted to work...
And the best is i dont know what else ill find that doesnt work... this is ridiculous... nothing of this happen in a PC with Windows 7.
I would like to know why this happens and if it happened to anyone else.
Thanks.

reformat and zero your partition or chkdsk
make sure Windows has 15GB or more free space to work with
I have Macs and PCs all runnng 7 and even 8.
Maybe your iMac hard drive or even if SSD is where the fault lies.
boot from Widows DVD and check your system

  • Bootcamp Windows 7 Install Problem

    Hi,
I am having problems Installing Windows 7 via Bootcamp on My Macbook Pro 13" Early 2011 (running Mavericks) and was wondering if anyone could help/offer advice.
I took out the optical drive and put in an SSD a while ago, and now I want to install Windows 7 on the SSD. So firstly I tried installing it using a Windows 7 disc and an external optical drive but apparently you can't install it using that method (when you try to install it comes up with a blank screen and blinking cursor). Next I made a bootable USB using an ISO image, and tried to install via the BCA. But when I restart and try to install, it comes up with a black screen saying there is no bootable drive present; I have even tried holding down alt on start up to see what options I have for booting but all I have is the recovery drive and my SSD.
One thing I have read is that I can buy an external SuperDrive, amend the coding in the terminal (or somewhere) which will make the drive compatible with my mac, and then install Windows 7 via Disc through BCA that way. Does any one know if this will work before I purchase one?
Does anyone know of any other methods?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

On Macs with built-in Optical drives, there is no supported method of installing Windows, if the Optical drive has been removed. There are possible solutions, but there are convoluted.
Here is an example - http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=20584499#post20584499
You can put back your Optical drive temporarily, and install Windows.

  • Yosemite and Bootcamp Windows 7 booting problem

    Hello all,
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks from the App store on a MBP 2013 late which also had windows 7 installed on it using bootcamp.
I can boot into Yosemite and Windows 7 by going to start up disk and selecting the OS and then restarting but what I cannot do is use the option key to show me the boot disk options when I power on like how I used to do before the upgrade.
Is it the same for all, is there any work around or am I doing something wrong here ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Priyank.

What about booting into safe mode and then uninstalling the app?

  • Mac Pro - Bootcamp Windows 7 x64 problem. No Drives were found. Please help

    Hi,
I have recently purchase a Mac Pro and I was trying to install windows 7 with bootcamp which i successfully done it on my imac before but somehow after I partition my HDD in bootcamp, inside winodws 7 install page it saids "No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installtion"
I have read some previous post but I didn't really get it how people have solved. I have dismount the other 2 HDD but it doesn't seems to work.
Can someone please help. Is there a way that I can have my windows 7 into my other HDD instead of the Mac OS drives.

You read the PDF Guide? You have to use Advanced Options to format the FAT volume (BOOTCAMP) to NTFS.
    And yes, pull other drives.
Personally, I use a separate hard drive for Windows 7 and just pull the others, boot from Windows DVD and install.
I assume your recent MacPro 5,1 is Mid 2010. If you want to use more than 4GB RAM you will want 64-bit, and if you have dual processor 8 or 12-cores, you'd need Windows 7 Pro.
As for where you are now, use Boot CAmp Assistant again to remove the partition on your Mac OS boot drive.
Backup Mac OS to another drive yet? I use SuperDuper or CCC.
You can format the intended drive in Disk Utility.
Use Partition tab, Options and change partition table from GUID to Master Boot Record and format the entire drive as FAT. Or use Boot CAmp Assistant to do so. You'll need to shutdown then, not restart, so you can pull your other drives.

at least that the operator has confirmed to me that he called me. I also have problems with either the start of the mac with the power off. I can not understand if it crashes or is just very very slow.
Finally, I have a problem with the external hard disck. I often said to have been ejected incorrectly (not true) and I start to restore the startup recovery disk because disk utility is ineffective from the normal operating system .. is a shocking thing, but how you reduced. in four years it had never happened. seem to have windows or worse. Wake up.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • Bootcamp Windows battery life - USB power problem?

    Hi,
While the battery life on my MBP is ok under Windows (3 hours), it's not great when compared to booting into OSX where I get at least 30% more. It's easy (and right) to blame Windows inefficiencies when running XP or Vista, MS have massively improved energy performance under Windows 7. Looking into this a bit, I've found there is now a new tool to help investigate energy problems:
    POWERCFG /ENERGY
The generated power report shows that I have five cases of "USB Device not Entering Suspend". In otherwords (even though I don't have any devices plugged in) the USB components are burning at full power and not allowing Windows to suspend them to save energy. This may well explain why I'm not getting the battery life I could be, and it's really not Windows fault.
    Does anyone else see this? I'm on MBP5.5 w/ Win7 Pro x64.
Hopefully a future Bootcamp will enable full power management support..
    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Hello,
the core of the problem is the quality of the Boot Camp drivers.
The boot camp drivers allow very limited power management, therefore there is no real possibility to run Vista or WindowsXP without heavily using battery resources.
I don't think there will be any improvements in the future as Apple in not really committed to deliver better drivers (the present BootCamp power management drivers have remained virtually unchanged since BootCamp 1.2 beta, March 2007).
Just have a look at the threads about BootCamp especially about the problems that are plaguing the new MacBook Pro (mid 2009) i.e. poor sound quality and no microphone in Windows.
    Cheers
    Luca

Click on the  menu at top left of your screen, choose About This Mac and, in the panel that appears, note the Version no. in the form 10.n.n. Then update your product list so we can see what version of OS X you're running on the Mac — see this tutorial:

  • Windows 10 preview build 10049 BIG PROBLEM

    hello,
i got a very big problem after updating to build 10049. after the installation was complete my laptop restarted and i got a black screen with in the botom right corner the build number 10049. after a couple of hours the laptop restarts itself but it keeps
    getting on this black screen.
i tried a iso of windows 10 preview latest iso build on a usb stick but with every solution i try: format, repair it keeps getting the same error that there is a problem with unmountable bootdevice.
even using my official windows 8 dvd gets the same problem
i'm lost. i dont know how to solve this problem.
can someone please help me with this?

This is not a one off, it is repeatable on brand new disks.
I previously had the original win10 preview build installed on this hard drive = no problems.
I then did a fresh install of build 9879 from CD. Install completed untill it got to the reboot phase = it would not reboot - the hard drive was not recognized in the bios anymore.
tested broken hard drive in another computer = works
tested broken hard drive in 2nd connector on my laptop = fail (still not seen by bios).
tested a few other sata disks I have laying around on both connectors of my laptop = pass.
upgrade my bios as there is one version higher than I had. = fail (still not seen by bios).
boot from broken hard drive on another computer and finish the OOB portion of the win 10 preview install = pass
So it seems clear that the hard drive is still working, but just not recognized on the original computer. It is only 2 months old so I get it replaced under warranty. Replacement disk is recognized by bios, yeah! I then restore image of broken hard drive
to this replacement. Disk is still recognized by bios. I boot up from this disk on my laptop. It works OK until first reboot, then is not recognized by bios anymore.
    Computer = Toshiba Satelite P305 PSPC8U-01400Q
Hard disk = WD blue 1TB  model: WD10JPVX-22JC3T0
Note: also with windows 8 running on this computer and the broken hard drive installed in second connector, windows also does not see it, neither through disk manager nor through diskpart command line. But if I boot up in Linux from a bootable USB flash
drive, then I can see the (broken disk) on this same computer. Yes I can see it and I can read and write to the filesystem, even though it is still not seen by the bios.

  • BIG PROBLEM - BB Link crash when i installing in windows 8.1

Hi, sorry for my bad english. I try to speak with you.
I have a very big problem.
When i try to install the latest version of BlackBerry Link (120_b028, this is the file name), the system crash (blue screen) and write this error: "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (ndis.sys)" - i try to disable the ethernet card and the wireless card but the problem still - I don't such enithing now - I'm desperate now because i don't make backup - Please help me and sorry for my bad english too. Thanks for all - i still you........

    OK guys,
After consistently received the BSOD when Installing BB Link, I turned off bitlocker and received this error from Kaspersky.  Link did not load but at least I didn't get the BSOD.
Error 1704. An installation for BlackBerry Link is currently paused.  Changes make by this installation will be cancelled.  Start the installation process again after the process shutdown.
I then removed Kaspersky, restarted the install and received this error.
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {74FD3CE6-2A8D-0E9C-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x800736B5
After I acknowledged the error the Install Shield rolled back the install and bailed out.
Anybody have any other ideas on how to install BlackBerry Link on my brand new Sony Core i7 laptop running Win 8.1?
BTW, if anybody from BlackBerry is listening, my Z10 has been a great device and Link worked well on my Win7 laptop.  This however is enough for even the most devoted BB user to toss the whole thing.  There are a lot of people having similar problems.  Get this fixed ASAP.
     Thanks.

  • BootCamp: Windows 7 installation fails display only gets black

Hello i have a late 2008 macbook pro 15 with core 2 duo 2.66GHZ and 9400M. I have a big problem: i want to install windows 7 but via bootcamp it doesnt work! Partition is done the computer starts to install windows and then the display gets black and the macbook seems to turn the power off but the fans are still spinning. I dont know how to install windows on this MacBook. When i try to install simply from the cd theres the same problem: Display gets black and macbook seems to turn off. How can i install Windows 7? is there any possibility to boot from a USB device although it has a super drive?
Thank you guys for your help
    greetings from germany
    Marc

@LenBlazer: As far as I know, CSM support is required for Windows 7 to run in UEFI mode on any machine.  CSM - compatibility services module - makes some legacy-style BIOS hooks available when in UEFI mode as I understand it.
@BAZZI: I can't find the N581 in the BIOS simulator to look at the options.  Some other similar machines don't seem to list CSM as a separate option. Hopefully CSM support is enabled (silently) when UEFI is selected but I can't verify that, unfortunately.
CSM may not be the problem in your case.  It has been on the machines I've tested Win7/UEFI on.  When it isn't enabled you get to the Windows 7 "dancing balls" splash and then it hangs.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Windows 7 boot problems after partitioning Mac Disc

    Hi
    I got a big Problem. I installed Windows 7 with Bootcamp. I have a 600Gb Mac Partition and a 150Gb Bootcamp Partition.
After Configuring Windows, I switched to the Mac OSX Snow Leopard System. I changed the Main Partition of 600Gb into 3 smaller ones. After this change I can't boot Windows 7 anymore. With the Option Key it doesn't show me the Bootcamp Partition. In the Sys. Preferences under Startup Disk it show me the Windows on Bootcamp Partition, but when I click restart, it shows me only the No System Disk Boot black screen.
I read a bit in the forum, but I haven't found the problem yet.
    Thx for your help
    NESTi

Your problem is quite clear and simple: you added and changed the parition numbers and table.
You want a linux style with a slice for swap, root, usr and data?
Use Mac's new Recovery - command d on startup.
Enable viewing hidden partitions in Disk Utility.
Use Windows DVD to fix and edit BCD
What you did is not supported. I know XP can't boot unless it is partition #4 or lower.
There is 200MB GPT, 128MB EFI, HFS+ 600GB would have been 3rd but GPT is zero, only now you have three where there was one.
Manage all partitions with Disk Utility in OS X
Check partition table health in Lion's Disk Utility
BCD for Windows 7 and Lion

  • 2011 MBP bootcamp windows 7 is black!

While I have already installed win7 pro with bootcamp, this is a big problem
1st is while my MPB is booting, it was black until the apple icon appears, then I can access my Mac OS.
2nd I can't using "press option button to choose bootdisk", the option operation does not work!!
my MBP will always black, I have to restart it to into mac os.
So I can only use "bootdisk" from system preference.
3rd While I boot from bootcamp to my windows, while windows booting it's ok. But after it appears "Welcome", the the screen was all black!!!
And this happened after I install bootcamp, before I install that, I just can't have a right screen resolution (no graphic card driver)
I also can't install the AMD graphic driver on it.

    Hi l,
I would post in the Boot Camp forum where more of those experts hang out: https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

  • Mcbook Pro (2009) freezing all the time. Bootcamp windows works perfectly...

    Hi,
    I'm very confused.
I've had my macbook pro for 2 years now, with bootcamp Windows installed for almost that long without a problem.
As of today my macbook keeps locking up everytime I click on an application or click my mouse on something. It freezes with any action and stays busy for about a minute before doing all my commands.
The problem is, my Windows 7 works perfectly fine! Which means, unlike the other people posting here about their freezing macs, it's NOT a hardware issue!
I installed Lion about 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure what's going on. I don't really know what to do. I'll do some cleanups and everything, and post a little later.

Do you have FileVault enabled or a Mac with a "Fusion" drive?
It appears to be trying to boot into Safe Mode, but fails. I've seen Safe mode fail for the above reasons.
Can you boot into Recovery? OS X: About OS X Recovery
if so, try repairing the disk. http://osxdaily.com/2012/02/08/repair-boot-disk-mac-os-x-disk-utilit/

  • Bootcamp windows 7 listen to line in soundcard driver not installing

Hi there and thanks for reading.
    Bottom line Bootcamped Windows 7
I just want to be able to HEAR my line in input in REALTIME not a 1-2sec delay like the "listen to device" thing in windows has by default.
I've tried to install realtek drivers however I get an error message.
I've attempted to install other drivers and those fail as well.
It's upsetting because litereally everything else works (minus the aircard for some reason but I dont mind using a cable) and the internal speakers.
If anyone has had the same problem and found a fix. please please do share.

I got to the same point as viggo. bootmgr was missing after restoring the partition with winclone.
i fixed the bootrecord of the cloned partition like this:
    1) create a windows system repair disk. you can do this in your virtual machine. since you cannot boot from cd. you need to create the repair disk directly into an iso file. windows only lets you choose an existing cdrw drives, so you need to simulate a  cd burner. use TotalMounter for this. its free and does exactly what you need.
the following steps have been done with parallels. don't know if this works with vm fusion
    2) Create a new parallels vm and use the cloned, broken bootcamp partition as its main drive (if you start it right now, you get the same "bootmgr is missing" message)
    3) mount the previously created system repair disc as a cd rom
    4) boot from the cd room
    5) run systemrepair to fix the bootrecord
    6) windows is now booting in parallels and it hopefully does so directly from disk :-)
