Bootcamp Windows 7 Wireless Network Connection: No Valid IP Configuration

I just bought a new 13" MBP and have installed Windows 7 Ultimate via Bootcamp 5.0. I installed the Windows Support Software that I had previously downloaded via Bootcamp Assistant on Mac OS. Although the Wireless Network Connection asked for my network key and connects to the network, I cannot access the internet. The troubleshooter find this problem: "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have valid IP configuration. I am using my old Dell computer and it is connecting to the wireless properly and my MBP can connect on Mac OS, so I don't think it's a router issue. Here are the things I have tried so far to resolve this issue, but none have worked:
Uninstalling the Broadcom Network Adapter driver, restarting the computer, and reinstalling
Repairing the Windows Support Software with the Bootcamp 5.0.5033 Support Software Update downloaded from www.apple.com
Uninstalling the Broadcom Network Adapter driver, restarting the computer, and reinstalling the driver from Bootcamp 5.0.5033

Hi, yonhtna. Welcome to the forums!
Would you mind answering a few questions? I need a little more information about your network setup and about the exact nature of the problem.
    1) What type of router is your main router?
    2) Do you plan on using the Express to extend the range of your network, or are you only going to be using it for AirTunes or printer sharing?
    3) When and where do you see the error message? If possible, can you provide the exact wording?
    4) Is AirPort Utility able to find the Express?

  • Conflict with WRT160N and Windows Wireless Network Connection

I have a WRT160N router connected to a Verizon FIOS cable modem with five computers (all Windows based) wirelessly connected to the N router.  Four of the computers auto detect the N router connection when the computer starts up using Windows Wireless Network Connection and operate well.  One of the computers, which is the only one running Easylink for router configuration, will not connect through the Wireless Network Connection.  I have to use Easylink to manually connect.  The WNC gives a msg that Windows cannot configure this wireless connection and to configure the wireless connection using Wireless Zero Configuration service.  When I configure WZC correctly the WNC sees all available networks and allows me to select the Advanced Wireless checkbox to allow Windows to connect to the wireless network.  However, when I reboot the computer none of the configuration parameters are saved and I am back to manually connecting using Easylink and going through the entire process again.   Any suggestions?    Thx

Uninstall the EasyLink and connect manually. I think EasyLink 3.0 or later is coming soon ..

  • Netsh does not work to set IP address of "Wireless Network Connection"

    On Windows 7 Professional
This set of commands work for configuring the "Local Area Connection"
netsh interface ip set address name="local area connection" static 74.94.87.157 255.255.255.248 74.94.87.158 1
netsh interface ip set dns name="local area connection" static 8.8.8.8
netsh interface ip add dns name="local area connection" 68.87.77.130 index=2
BUT for the WiFi connection, this command errors with this message "ELEMENT NOT FOUND"
netsh interface ip set address name="Wireless Network Connection" static 74.94.87.157 255.255.255.248 74.94.87.158 1
BUT the 2 following dns commands DO work for the Wifi Connection.
netsh interface ip set dns name="Wireless Network Connection" static 8.8.8.8
netsh interface ip add dns name="Wireless Network Connection" 68.87.77.130 index=2

    I FOUND A SOLUTION
I manually renamed the interface from "Wireless Network Connection" to "Wifi"
Then when I use "WiFi" in the command line, I no longer get the
    ELEMENT NOT FOUND error.
I have no idea why renaming the interface works . . as shown on original post above, "set dns name" command worked without the name change, but the "IP set Address" did not work.
Anybody know what this is about ?

  • Wireless network connection not showing up in network connections

    Hi, Experts,
I recently re-image my Toshiba laptop (using window xp installation disk) due to I deleted few system files accidentally and can not boot the system up.
Before I re-image, I have no problem to connect Fios internet. After the re-image, the wireless network connection not showing up in network connections, so I cannot set up my Fios internet.
How to set up the  wireless network connection that it will show up in network connections?  Thank you very much for your help.

Issue Resolved.  I did not turn on the wireless switch.

  • 2nd Computer Requires a Manual Wireless Network Connection Setting on Powerup

2nd Computer Requires a Manual Wireless Network Connection Setting on Powerup
On power-up, my 2nd computer, a 3 yo IBM R51, requires that I open the Network Connections window, then set the Wireless Network Connection Properties under the Wireless Network Tab, clicking on "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings", before the automatic connection launches to the WRT150N v1.1 router signal.
I just bought the router and have the latest firmware.
My primary computer does not require the above settings change every time.
Is there a selection I can make so this is automatic on power-up or restart of my 2nd computer?

It was already set to automatic on both extended and standard tabs.
For a good measure, I set it to disable, applied, then reset it to automatic and applied again. Still does same thing.
I notice that if I double click on the small icon for the Intel ProWireless Network Card, I get a Wireless Connection Status Window.
This window has a Wireless Settings section where it seems to have a possibly obsolete "Current Location Profile" called ssnetwork (the name of my old network on my old D-Link router that I just changed out for the Linksys.
Anyway, the Network Name (SSID) field is now blank but when it first came up, it had the new name of the network I'm using.
Do you know how I access this "Current Location Profile" so I can edit it and possibly enter my new network name?
There is a button at the bottom of the screen called "Modify WLAN Settings" that I click but nothing launches when I do so.
Now that I manually did the connection setting, my network name appears in the "Current Location Profile."

'Wireless Network Connection doesn't have valid IP configuration'.
The problem that I'm having on multiple devices gives me this message on my desktop PC. No devices in the house can connect to the internet apart from xbox systems weirdly enough. I have 3 xbox's in the house, two 360's and one xbox one which all connect perfectly fine.
No computers will connect and no mobile phones. The router is shining a blue light indicating that nothing is wrong. I have been searching for a solution for hours now and nothing has worked. If someone has a suggestion please let me hear it.

  • Win7 Home Premium - systray Wireless network connection icon?

    Hi,
My home wireless connection is running fine and I do not have my Ethernet cable plugged in.
In the systray part of the taskbar, there used to show a Wireless network connection icon - a little graphic icon that looked like 5 vertical bars side-by-side, with bars increasing in height, left to right.  That icon is no longer in the systray and
it appears to have been replaced by the "wired" icon - a little square with a tiny picture of a plugger on its left side.  And since I don't have my Ethernet cable plugged in, there's a little red "x" on the wired icon.  I don't
know what I did to cause the wired icon to replace the Wireless network connection icon in the systray. Any idea how I screwed this up and how to put things back again?

    Hi cwr64,
It might be caused by netsh command using. Please try following methods
Method1: Uninstall all “6to4 Afapter” and “isatap” device in device manager.
Right click this computer->Properties->Device manager->View->show hidden devices
Right click and uninstall all “6TO4 Adapter” and “isatap” devices in
    Network adapters.
    Method 2
Please try to uninstall all your network adapter driver and reinstall them again. Then restart your computer check if the icon comes back. It might be caused by netsh command using.
Note: backup or download your adapter driver before removing the drivers from device manager.

  • Hp officejet 6500 e709n series wireless network connection issues

My HP officejet 6500 e709n series all-in-one printer was working perfectly fine the last time I used it (admittedly a couple of months ago).  Now it seems like the printer thinks it is connected to the wireless network, but the computer thinks it isn't.  I have run the wireless network test report off the printer a couple of times.  The first time it said it couldn't detect any issues.  The second time it said the only possible issue is that "MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireles router".  I have NO IDEA how to turn that off.  I also don't know why this would suddenly be an issue since the printer was working fine a couple of months ago and we haven't changed anything since then.  I have also run the network configuration page off the printer and it seems to think everything is fine.
When I run the troubleshooter off my computer (hp pavilion running Windows 7) it says "Printer hp officejet 6500 e709n series fax cannot be contacted over the network".  I am getting very frustrated.  How do I fix this problem?

What router?  What operating system?  Have you run the Wireless Setup WIzard from the Network menu on the front of the printer?  Do that.

  • Wireless network connection drops on my Tecra A4

    Hi,
When I am downloading a file ( or just only connected to the web), the connection drops about every 30 seconds for a few seconds. I have tried a lot things, like changing the channel, changing the security setting (wpa/wep), tried another places in the house, but if I sit only a meter from the router, I have the same problem.
The strange thing is the the computer that is directly connected by cable to the router does not show any problems at all..
also see http://www.sappa.nl/dumeter.jpg for an illustration of my problem.
I have read about a possible solution (http://arstechnica.com/news/posts/1080251780.html) by turning off the windows net zero service, and instead of this service to use a different program to search and connect to your network (configfree?!)
    I am using a netgear WPN824 router
My laptop is a Tecra A4
    Greetings!

    Hi
Its not easy to give you a proper answer.
If your unit works with the Atheros WLan card you should use the Atheros Client Utility to configure the WLan settings and the option Use Windows to configure my wireless in the Wireless network properties should be disabled.
Furthermore please check the Toshiba website for new Wlan driver. Maybe the new update could solve the problem.

I have an HP 175nw, from one day to the next it decided it was no longer going to connect to the wirless connection.
    I run a Mac on 0S X 10.8.3.
I can't find the installation software (the whole software not just the driver) on the web and the CD is worthless b/c this is a Mac.
I installed the printer on my windows laptop and it works fine, it connected to the wireless network using the setting sets on my laptop, it now prints wireless no problem, but not with the Mac.
I have plugged the printer directly into the Mac but the Mac doesn't even seem to recognize it.  The printer shows up on my printer list but when I try to print or scan from it the Mac says the printer is offline.
I need this printer/scanner for work desperately,  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problems with Installing iTunes and wireless network connection

Every time I attempt to install iTunes it completely kicks the internet off and an error comes up that the wireless network adapter to not connect or is not detected. My internet service is connected to a router which I receive wirelessly to my laptop. I do not understand why it is happening and to get the internet to work again I needed to do a system restore. Any ideas why this is happening. Also when iTunes was installed it came up correctly, it would just not connect to the net. I have had a previous version on my old laptop but since purchasing this new laptop I am having such difficulty. On another note, if this problem can be resolved, once iTunes is working is there a way to get the songs from my old computer onto the new? Thanks for the help in advance!

I just saw your post and I resolved this on mine for my wired connection. I'm willing to bet that the issue is the same for wireless. Here's what I found.
    Issue:
During the installation, iTunes installs some network components related to mobile device support over ethernet(Apple Mobile Device Ethernet Service - netaapl.inf). At the same time, according the logs, the install process removed OEM18.inf. This almost exactly coincided with the time that I saw the network connection die (preceded it by a few seconds).
Basically, iTunes appears to be removing a required network component.
    Resolution:
After installing iTunes and the network connection breaking, remove the network device from Device Manager and allow Windows to reinstall it automatically.
The following instructions are for Windows 7, but they are close enough to follow for other versions of Windows.
    1. Click the Start button (Jewel in Vista and Win7).
    2. Right-click Computer and click Manage in the menu that appears (type your password or click Yes if prompted).
    3. On the left side of hte Computer Management window, click Device Manager.
    4. Click the arrow (or plus sign) next to Network Adapters to expand that section.
    5. Right-click your network adapter and click Uninstall in the menu that appears.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Reboot.
Windows should automatically detect and reinstall your network device on boot.

  • T520 problem with Wireless Network Connection Adaptors

I was in Windows 7 Device Manager's Network Connections trying to fix a minor WIFI problem by uninstalling the drivers and then scanning for hardware changes to reinstall them. I uninstalled a driver that the scan didn't pick up to reinstall, and I didn't write down its name. Now the WIFI does not work at all. I've updated the two drivers left in Network Adapters:
Intel 82579LM Gigabit  Network Connection for my ethernet
Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN for my WIFI
Does anyone know the name of the wireless driver I uninstalled? Does the 520 require two wireless network adaptor drivers? Can't seem to find info on it anywhere!
    What I've done:
I ran Intel's PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility diagnostic tools. The hardware test fails saying "Wireles Hardware is not boudn to transport driver". The Driver Test passed saying "Driver is loaded. Netwsw00 Version: 15.4.1.1. The Radio Test failed saying "Failure geting network radio status!". After that the Scant Test, Asociation Test, Authentificaiton Test, Siganl Test and Ping Test all failed.
Installed every 64 bit LAN wireless network adaptor driver I could find in the T520 section of Lenovo's site
Any assistance appreciated. I'm a bit of a noob.

  • More than one wireless network connection

Is it possible to keep more than one wireless connection installed for my Deskjet 3000 (J310 series) in Devices & Printers? I am using Windows 7 Pro. For example when I travel to my dad's house I take my printer with me and he has a wireless cable connection.  I have to go through the setup to get the printer on his network, then when I come home I have to go through the process again to get back on my network. I would like to be able for it to keep BOTH so all I have to do is select one or the other and not go through setup again!
    Hope there is a solution!
    Patti

    Hello pranderson
Unfortunately the printer can only store one network settings at a time. I'm not sure of any printer than remembers multiple network settings either.
Unless its a mobile printer, printers are not typically moved between different networks.
Is there a particular reason for moving the printer? I'm just curious and hope I have been informational.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.
